This place is a mess. I was a little apprehensive about CVAM after reading the reviews. It was with good reason. I had to call three times before I received a call back to schedule an appointment. I received a pre-recorded message the day before my appointment with Dr. Skloven confirming the appointment. When I arrived for my appointment half an hour early as requested to complete paperwork, I was informed that they needed to reschedule. The admin told me that they had called my phone number to inform me but it was disconnected. When I indicated that I had received a confirmation and got my phone out to show her, she said, "Oh, they must have misdialed." When she said they needed to reschedule, I declined. I don't feel comfortable dealing with this level of disorganization and lack of professionalism. read more

We went to CVAM as a first time patient because we switched insurance. All they want to do is nickel and dime you. We just had many tests done a few months back and instead of using those results they wanted us to redo the tests which cost hundreds of dollars even with insurance. When we asked to just use those results they said no and they would not help us and asked us to leave. That's not the way to treat patients. read more

Imagine having ACTIVE symptoms and trying to call for TWO days and not being able to get a single person on the phone.. I have literally called 23 times with NO answer in any department.. I was a patient of Dr. Kaplan's for quite a while. He was exceptional with my care. I was notified by CVAM that Dr. Kaplan was no longer with them. I had a follow up appointment this month (Jan 2022) with Dr. Kaplan. Instead of transferring my care to another cardiologist, they did nothing. They left me hanging. When it came time for my appointment I was told that I would have to start all over again as a new patient and I couldn't be seen until June. JUNE!!! THAT'S SIX MONTHS AWAY!!! I'M A HEART PATIENT!! THAT WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I quickly found another cardiologist who could see me this same week. When I asked CVAM for my records to take to the new cardiologist, I was told that there is a $25 charge for ink and paper. OMG!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!! I could by a black cartridge and reems of paper for $25. I called my new cardiologist's office an was told that they'll get the records...NO CHARGE!!! NEVER, EVER USE CVAM.... I was a patient, I had a physician I thought very highly of. But the office staff needs training. Basic trading like how to greet a patient. My wife died on October 24, 2020 because of heart failure. The cardiologist at this facility were the reason she past away. Dr. Sein and Dr. Krammar could have saved her life if they did the surgery on her two valves They recently put us thru hell to set up the surgery and appointments. My wife and I had to call every one to schedule the test that the surgeon from Banner said her heart and lungs were to weak and she didn't want to take any chances. She had no intention of doing the surgery before we even met, Two weeks ago she went for test that no one was concerned about three weeks before this. Her leg was swollen and painful and yet they saw nothing wrong. This office is not professional including the doctors. If you have some one that you love don't go here. read more

I have had no problem with the Drs here. But the office staff is among some of the most rude I have ever encountered. 10/9/17 I was contacted by customer service who was very helpful. I was also in the office last week and met with Dr Grossman, who I really liked. And I had no problems with the office staff in person. My previous problems were all on phone encounters. I also want to mention this was the speediest appt I ever had anywhere. 1:45 appt and I arrived maybe 5 minutes early. They started processing me in immediately and before she was even finished with my copay they were calling me back. Had weight and NP checked EKG done, meds updated by tech, saw MD. And as I was getting into my car after I glanced at my watch and it was 2:03. I'm not saying I was rushed, didn't feel that way, just the most efficient appt I've had anywhere. read more

This practice is a prime example of growing too big to care about patients. Here are some of my experiences: 1. I showed I for an appointment and was told they didn't know why I was there because they hadn't completed one of my tests. Waste of time. 2. You will never get through on the phone. You wait for 3 minutes and are instructed to leave a message. This will happen every time you call. 3. My cardiologist had a video visit with me while he was driving his car home. Very unprofessional. 4. During an appointment with a PA, I had to wait more than 45 minutes in the exam room without any acknowledgement that they made me wait. Then the PA was unable to answer my questions regarding my tests and treatment. 5. After a cardiac catheterization procedure, my cardiologist didn't even come into the recovery room to tell me how it went. I had to over-hear the nurses discussing the procedure to know what happened. 6. After sending a 4 page letter to the 'CEO' (not a doctor, probably a glorified office manager) I received no response to my concerns. These are just the bigger problems I had with this office. I did give two stars because I had good experiences with the staff who did my tests. Not every encounter was substandard, but many were and the deficiencies were significant in my opinion. Find a smaller practice where the doctor actually cares enough to talk to you. If you go here, be prepared to be treated like cattle. read more

I've been seen at CVAM in queencreek, Arizona with no problems or issues. I have a Ekg monitor on and stress test that was moved up to a sooner slot at the CVAM Mesa, arizona so I went ahead and scheduled it. I have a few disabilities and ongoing health problems. I have never been treated like trash until I went to CVAM Mesa, az. I drove over an hour to get to the mesa, CVAM location and put my shoes on for the stress test, so I made in the office being 5-10 minutes late. The front desk tells me I have to reschedule again. I make a few phone calls and find out CVAM, MESA AZ is short staffed and it takes two techs to do the stress test which they can't being understaffed. I called CVAM and they said they don't turn anyone away and tell me to wait while I'm on the phone in the mesa, CVAM parking lot. CVAM puts me on hold atleast 7 times to figure what's going on and how to get me scene just to tell me at the end we're sorry but you have to reschedule. The front counter girls should be fired if this is how you help people with major disabilities. CVAM should of told me the tech's were understaffed, and on top of it all they care about is making money. There was 15 people already waiting so the 5 to 10 minutes being late from all the handicap slots being full and getting my shoes on was a complete lie. I would never return to the Mesa, CVAM location ever again. Treating people like trash that have disabilities has zero tolerance and If CVAM Mesa, az applauds this behavior they need to make some serious changes and fire people. It's funny because after checking in there was no problem until she asked again for my insurance and I'd. If CVAM is choosing who gets seen based on who has better insurance is a major problem. I'm rating this Mesa, CVAM location zero stars on how this was handled and will never return to the CVAM mesa location. They should be ashamed by judging a book by its cover. Although they never answer the phone and ask to leave a message, I finally got an appointment when I went in personally. They had never called back even though I had left numerous messages. I was glad I persisted because Dr. Desai is a wonderful doctor. He listens and takes his time. He had even reviewed my records from my previous doctor. First mistake was going to Banner Baywood which is a big crappy hotel with drugs. Next to no care unless you're an illegal with no insurance. Second mistake, following up with this shitty group of apathetic cardiologists, especially the PA. She was half an hour late seeing me, had the personality and compassion of a sack of wet mice. She did nothing to help me but piss me off with her "I dont give a shit" attitude. Then they scheduled me for tests A MONTH TO 6 WEEKS FROM NOW. Gee, great, if I dont have a heart attack before then, I'll try to show up. And I'll be half an hour late just like you, too. Needless to say, I'm currently looking for a new office with a real cardiologist that has skills, compassion, and concern for their patients besides their insurance card & copays. I am a patient of Dr. Sorof. She is without question on of the best medical professionals I have worked with in my 61 years. Her medical staff in house, excellent as well. I am considering however leaving for another Dr. as call-in operations is frustrating to THAT point which I would give up for another. Like several of you'all have experienced similar this is clearly on the operations manager who is tasked with managing this company function. It has improved as of late but like D- to C. Further reason I give a 2 out of 5 is frequency.. I see Dr. Sorof 1 or 2 times per year but my need to interact with operations is approx 5 to 8 times per year and I have a sensitivity for effective response and communication with the customer. Mu husband had a procedure (oblation) and he was well treated at Banner. His doctor, Dr. Kaplan, and the staff there were wonderful. No more tachycardia. One Star However, he started bruising and had a lump in the groin five days after the procedure. The direction sheet said that was a "medical emergency". He called the CVAM office and was told to come right in. After sitting there for about 45 minutes, we were told there was no one who could help him. He was asked to "make it through the weekend" and offered an appointment on the following Monday FOR AN EMERGENCY. We wound up in the emergency room having a sonogram done which showed a small hematoma. We were told what to do and paid a $90.00 co-pay. The trip to CVAM wasted over an hour. Why was he told to come in for the "emergency" if no one was going to check him? If this had been a condition that could have harmed him, what would have happened with the useless delay? read more

I would give negative stars but that's not an option. Today is my dads 71st birthday but I can't celebrate with him because 2 years ago he died of amiodarone toxicity in banner bay wood. Dr Sein put my dad on this poison in March and he died in August. When you're on this drug you're supposed to be closely monitored which my dad never was and he was never told of the side effects. Amiodarone is supposed to be used as a last line of defense but Dr Sein decided my dads life wasn't important. Thank you Dr Sein for being irresponsible and taking my dads life read more

Horrible service. I will take my business elsewhere. This group is either inundated with patients or understaffed. I had some tests ran last week. The Dr. never called with the results. Instead, I received a voicemail trying to schedule me for another test. I had no idea why. Five phone calls later and I still don't have an answer. It's like Fort Knox trying to talk to the person I need to speak with. I sat on hold for almost ten minutes every time I called in. When I did speak with a human, I was just transferred into a voicemail. No one returns calls. read more

Both my elderly parents went to CVAM. Not very personal doctors there. Slovan and Dr. Kaplan. Except for Dr. Soroff. My dad at 101 yrs really liked her attention and she did very well for his care of the heart.Then my mother at 93 yrs was in need of their expertise. Because they wanted to do a fairly new procedure for her heart, she had to be interviewed by 2 cardio heart surgeons to make sure she would be a good candidate. We went into the hospital the day we were assigned all ready and prepped to go into surgery when the associated Dr. Stein (from another office) comes out to inform us that because the patient before us struggled to remain alive with the Dr.from CVAM we had to dress and return the following week. Needless to say we went through the whole procedure. I kissed my mom goodbye and told her I 'd be waiting. About an hour later, I was called into a room where they informed me that she did not make it and bled out. They didn't know where from. It was a real shock. Now after a time I looked into the medication she was taking and one was a blood thinner, Clopidogrel. In research I find they should have taken her off of that medication at least 5 days before the surgery. Dr. Stein sent me a nice Sympathy card,Dr. Ambrosia from CVAM did nothing. After thought. To make this a legal issue for courts to settle, will not bring my mother back and I don't want the headache of going through it all but to those taking care of your parents... search everything out and ask, ask, ask questions. My wife has had irregular rythms for years, when they got a bit uncomfortable, she was ref to CVAM. She really liked the doctor and was put on a 30 day monitor and was miserable as the pads cause sores all over her chest. she pushed through it and was told no worries it was recording everything, even if she did not hit the button. They did an ultrasound and thought they found something and then wanted to repeat it again to be sure. Only to find that it was not what they thought and the doc. ruled it off as anxiety and gave her some pills, which with normal to low BP, you can not take, with out causing other problems. The doc said he found nothing on the 30 day monitor, turns out it was not recording anything, unless she hit the button. The staff had misinformed her that she needed to hit the button and instead said not to worry that it records everything. The equipment was always loosing signal and the staff still assured us it was fine. Only to realize, that her doctor decided to send her to another doctor in his office to have her wear another monitor for 30 days to do it right. My wife was going in to have thyroid surgery (although her levels are normal, it was due to nodules) and was asked to use the monitor during this time frame, she asked to wait, as it would just be stressful, with surgery and recovery. Plus he wanted her to follow up with this other doc in his office that deals with the Electrical portion of the heart. Very frustrated and annoyed that she really got no help, and was given the impression that it was in her head or anxiety and that he sees nothing, yet I can feel my wife's pulse and feel the abnormal beats, myself. He also wanted her to take this MLM vitamins that he peddles to his patients. My wife bought them and they did nothing, no difference and she paid a lot of money for them. More money in the trash and wasted on appts etc. for no one to have a clue what is going on. My wife has had her surgery and told by the thyroid surgeon to follow up with her cardiologist. So we are on the look out for someone that can get to the bottom of this, in a timely manner. Not 6 weeks out for an appt and then 6 weeks to get results etc. My wife has gotten worse, and thanks to the Cardiologist believes it is her fault and stress related. She has stopped doing a lot of things and honestly, stopped living a normal life, because she feels that she is doing this to herself. Way to add more anxiety and stress on to a patient, that is already not feeling well. read more

BEST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD!!! I came into this doctors office for a bubble study, which I've never had before, and I checked in, sat down, and was called up within the next minute. From there I got my IV, and was seated in a back room for another minute or so, I was called in to start my echo and the tech that performed my echo was so polite, explained everything and was gentle. I was in and out in about 30-40 minute and it was the SMOOTHEST doctors appointment I've ever been to. Thank you so much for this amazing experience for a scary test (well scary for me) and making it so bearable. If you need to see a cardiology come here. They called me at 620am hawaii time. It was 930am their time the lady told me. So disrespectful. Woke me up after being up all night with my sick kid. She dialed the wrong number. Here's some advise. If you are going to call someone to the west of you they are behind you in time. Example call someone at 920am your time and you calling hawaii it's 2-3 hours ahead of you!!!! Hope the drs there don't make these type of mistakes on the hearts they are working on!!!! read more

Dr. Sein is a terrible doctor! My mom was his patient and saw him repeatedly complaining of chest pains and what she thought were mini heart attacks. He said over and over it was not cardiovascular-related and was indigestion. Ridiculous! He gave her awful medical care (none!) and never even performed a stress test or anything other than over a year after her complaints, he put a halter on her. I hold him responsible for her death this year. All of the chest pains and the "attacks" that she was telling him about were in fact multiple heart attacks. She had clogged arteries the entire time that he never diagnosed. He did nothing to take care of her, no preventative care, no testing or anything. She fell and broke her arm, and had a heart attack after her surgery in the hospital and the heart attack was a result of her clogged arteries that he did not treat. During her time in the hospital, she had two more heart attacks. All a result of Dr. Sein not treating her while under his care for 2 years. He should've been doing his job and adhering to his ethical responsibility. Had he treated her over the two years she was going there, she would still be alive today and would not have had the heart attacks which resulted in her death months later. Dr. Sein dismissed her because she was an old lady. He could care less. Do not go to this doctor under any circumstances. he should be ashamed of himself and his partners should be ashamed to be associated with him. my Mom what a wonderful loving woman whose life mattered to all of her children. My mother and step father have been patients of Dr. Ambrosia for many years and have always had exceptional treatment and service with him. He spoke to me after a surgery my mother had and I felt like I was visiting with a caring, long time friend. I personally needed to visit Dr. Ambrosia a few years ago and I received the same exceptional service. He never made me feel like I was worrying for no reason and he ordered every test possible to rule everything out. I so much appreciate the service we have received here. My Biological father is now a patient at this office as well, with Dr. Kaplan. We have only had one visit with a nurse practitioner so I can not speak of Dr. Kaplan's bed side manner. My Father is a stubborn individual and while it is vital for him to be on his medication he refuses to make an appointment to receive a prescription refill. I have called the office twice, trying to find a temporary solution for this and have been treated with so much disdain and disrespect, these are heart medications not narcotics. I would have hoped for more compassion and understanding. I am extremely disappointed with how I have been treated. read more

Let's call this a zero star review. Their policy refusing to allow even a patient's spouse to attend an appointment is utterly asinine. In my opinion it's patient abuse. The patient has no advocate, no one to provide supporting information, no one to ensure that the patient is treated the way that patient should be. All in the name of "safety". Seriously, take my temperature, and if you're still so worried that I'm going to give everyone in the building COVID, put me in a hazmat suit for all I care, but for heaven's sake, let me accompany my wife to her appointments! Today I was barred from sitting in on her stress test, which was conducted in a closed room by a lone male technician. Unacceptable! Topless in nothing but a paper vest the entire time. "No, you can't wear a sports bra. It interferes with the electrodes." This situation made her extraordinarily uncomfortable to say the least! And no matter how we expressed our concerns, these idiots flat refused to allow me to accompany her into this closed room, which would be occupied by ONLY my wife and this tech. Exactly who am I endangering with my offensive presence? This sort of treatment is absolutely unacceptable. From my perspective, it's a blatant violation of my wife's civil and human rights. I don't have a single kind word to say about this practice. We are definitely finding a new doctor. And in response to today's circumstance, I'm looking into legal action. These people are cardiologists, but the stress they put her under today certainly isn't helping her condition! Shouldn't they be smart enough to realize that? This practice is a joke. I have been twice to CVAM and both times the front desk check in people were so rude, you would have thought they had just gotten fired. I started to say something to them but thought more about it and decided to hold my tongue.I was late to my appointment and she said. Lady, your appointment was at 12:45, so you'll just have to reschedule. Then she turns around & walks off. The checkout ladies are such darlings. She said you are getting your results today, and then she said if you can wait about 30 to 45 minutes, I'll squeeze you in. She grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze and said It'll be ok, we'll get you in to see the doctor today, as she saw I was about to start crying. I feel she went above & beyond for me. I could just kick myself for not getting her name.The doctors need to be informed about what a highly skilled, and diplomatic asset these ladies in checkout really are. I have been seeing Dr. Sein as my cardiologist for a few years now. I checked in for a 7:30 appt this morning, paid my copay, and was directed to where I should sit in the lobby for the doctor. (Also I received a confirmation of my appt on Friday, today is Monday). After sitting in the lobby about 5 min or so, I was called up to the front desk and told "Since you were 5 min late Dr. Sein said you need to reschedule your appointment." ?? I asked her if she was serious? I WAS NOT LATE?! She said I was late according to THEIR clock. After trying to reason with the person at the front desk who checked me in, I walked out because I didn't want to cause a scene, and was SOOOO UPSET! And this was a cardiologist appointment, which I really need! I sat in my car a while, then I went back in, and asked what was really going on, and got the same answers, even though I WAS NOT LATE. Even Dr Sein came out to talk to me and offered me a 9:45am appt! I took off time from work, (which starts at 7am for me) and was now being 'asked' to return or wait or come back at 9:45. The whole thing was unreal. I was so upset I had to wait 15 minutes just to calm down before driving to work, and am still upset. The fact that they turned it around on ME as if I caused this to happen was unbelievable. Oh, and I asked for my $40 copay back, but of course, whoever takes care of refunds is "out all day." (By the way, my credit card receipt showed 7:21am). Why did they treat me so unfairly? I have no idea but honesty sure would have been nice. Now I have to wait to see a doctor. and take off MORE time from work. Nobody's time is more important than others. All in all, I ended up going BACK in their office 3 times from the parking lot because I was so upset and wanted answers. And I DID end up making a scene, you bet. Was referred to CVAM by my primary after having to go to the hospital for chest pains, palpitations, and shortness of breath. Dr.skloven did an ekg which, like in the hospital, showed up normal. He came in, introduced himself, and took a quick listen, concluding that my heart was fine, explaining to me in these words, "You know, sometimes, you being a young woman, and well I don't mean to make this sound the way it will, but women tend to overreact more so than men, so maybe you are overthinking the feelings you are having, which is causing the anxiety." He then concluded that if I wanted I could wear a holster monitor. (Of course I wanted to, I know I'm not crazy, and I genuinely felt something was wrong) but after his comment, I definitely didn't want to be seen by him. I set an appointment with the cardiologist that the hospital referred me to (Tri-City cardiology) and could not have been happier with them. Oh! And even better! They diagnosed what was wrong with me! (Not anxiety OR my overactive female imagination) so thank you guys for being so horrible, that I could find another doctor who was so g read more
