    I was here!!

Well we returned here on a 225 mile motorcycle ride today across Sonora and Monitor Passes. Like the old Cutthroat (pre owner change) we found the service exemplary. Our server was awesome. I'm a wing nut so I ordered the buffalo wings along with the fried pickles. The wings were great, extra crispy as I ordered and sauced well. Cooked perfectly, moist on the inside with that crispy skin that's a must. The pickles are 1/4 sliced and breaded but not too thick of breading. Fried to a light golden tan the pickles were juicy and tasty. I am so happy they are open again as it's a biker destination for decades and now the legend continues. Best of luck to the new owners. Opening up new always takes time to get things dialed in but today ran smooth and we'll 100% be back. 5 stars today!

Super friendly staff, family run. Had some great bbq while listening to a bluegrass band. The place is tastefully renovated to be family friendly. Full of friendly locals. The owners told us about the history of the place. Will be back.

We had already eaten lunch, but my husband's bike group decided to stop by Cutthroat Tavern to relax and plan their upcoming ride. I shared a fish and chips with my husband--crispy, tasty, and just right for a light bite. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were genuinely warm and attentive. A great local spot to unwind, catch up, and fuel up--whether you're biking through or just passing by.

The most amazing place to visit!!! She let me dance on the bar!!! She was tentative and welcoming!!! Amazing food!!! The bathrooms are very clean and the local judge was awesome!!!

Awesome place to stop at for drinks and food. Service and locals were great to hang out with.

Sorry for the presentation was too good.

Awesome Berger, great fresh and wonderful sweet potato frys.... the humming was really good . I had the big berger like bison elk and beef. Scoo Goodgood.

Well stocked at the Cutthroat Tavern

Great food, great music, great building! SO great to return to Markleeville's Cutthroat Tavern to celebrate the return of the restaurant under new ownership after a brief hiatus; Markleeville is never the same without this 1880's tavern open in the heart of it. We came to see banjo and guitar bluegrass on a slightly stormy night, and the place was packed with folks from as far away as Reno. Can't think of a better place to enjoy great comfort food (I had the tomato bisque and grilled cheese with draft beer and an appetizer) while surrounded by warm wood and good people. If you want historic ambience, this place is worth the escape from wherever you travel.

The door was a freezer door and then you walk in to the actual bar itself. This is not a bis bar but spacious enough. We walked in and were sat by the booth all the way in the front by the music artist. It was actually so cool how they had the artist who was playing a saxophone, then the guitar then he can also sing and had a good voice. My major feed back with our experience is how the service was slow. We did have a big party, but what was crazy was that there was only one bartender. Mind you there was a host where you walk in and they count how many guest are there. The other person who helped at the bar did not come in until later and I'm not even sure if she actually helped out. Anyways, all their drinks I believe were the same price. I ordered the oasis which was really refreshing and tangy which I really liked. My bf ordered the tales of bourbon which unfortunately he did not like. Even our other friend who ordered the same thing did not like the bourbon. I do think the majority of our group enjoyed their drink. I would definitely say a nice spot to try and highly recommend it.

He mentioned they had an outdoor firepit and thought I would like it. When we were deciding on dinner, I said we should finally check it out. We walked in and sat ourselves at a high top. It's a combo of go up to the cash register and order plus a server will come and help you out while they deliver the food. Overall food wise, I thought everything was fine. The dip was cheesy. The peppers a little too salty. The salad fulfilled that green craving tho I found the dressing and cheese a lil too heavy handed. And the soup was the comfort I needed on a cold day. I found the fish to be a little heavier in batter than I prefer, but I like most things very lightly battered. The cocktail I got was nice. Balanced and refreshing. Their sangria was on tap, so they just filled up the glass. I did enjoy going outside after we were done eating to hang out around the firepit. Ran into another party of people and we chatted for a bit. We actually brought our drinks outside to enjoy as It was quite chilly that evening. Food was fine. Cocktails were nice. Definitely would go back for the outdoor firepit. REVIEW #3970
