The 2-star rating is from two different experiences in one visit at Cutter Ford Aiea. Brian is a rock star! He received my vehicle at my appointed time and expedited the service to get me out of the dealership hours before the promised time...5-stars! Now, the person who drove my vehicle from the service bay around the building, which can't be more than 100 yards, changed every single adjustment possible! The driver's chair was pushed back, lowered and tilted. All three rear view mirrors were adjusted. Even the steering wheel was tilted-up. I did appreciate Ford for covering my seat with plastic and removed it before I jumped in, but it's been weeks and I am still slowly getting adjusted to the changes of my seat. 0-stars. I previously had my vehicle serviced by Vehicare in Aiea. The technician, who was at least 6" taller than me, drove my same vehicle from Mililani to Aiea to have it serviced, then back to Mililani to return the car to me and he did not change a single seat or mirror adjustment! STAY AWAY FROM CUTTER FORD!! I was looking to get a new truck for my wife to replace the current one since the lease it up. After playing the "haggling game" with the salesperson the "manager" comes over presents a deal that we were good with. After waiting for over an hour and being told multiple times that the finance person would be with us shortly, they finally show up. We thought we could finish signing our paperwork and be on our way, that was not the case. Instead, the finance person was letting us know that the manager's deal was not something that Cutter Ford could do because they forgot to put the correct interest rate for a lease. The finance person then presented us with a payment that was higher than what was agreed upon. I was raised that when you make a deal with a customer then you honor it. Apparently that is not the way of doing business with Cutter Ford. They entice you with a lie and then expect you to agree to another deal that is in their favor. I came in for service on my car, I've been here many times so my expectation for the service time is already extremely low. Was told when I came in the original service would take an hour to an hour and a half. About 2 hours later I was told about some extra work that needed to be done and that it would take another hour to an hour and a half. 5 hours after I arrived (2 hours longer than their outside estimate in case you weren't counting) I got a call saying it would be another 45 minutes to an hour. Just under 6 hours after I got here I'm now finally waiting for my car to be pulled up. Honestly I can't say enough good things about the staff, they're awesome and attentive, friendly even when they're not directly helping you. The service time though is absolutely horrid. If something is going to take longer, tell me. Don't just let me wait for hours and hours. Literally could have gone home and would have if I wasn't told the initial time of "an hour to an hour and a half" read more

My only disappointment is how long it takes to get parts. Once In the shop, it's Go Time. I dropped my car at 7am & there were 8 cars already lined up for Service. First visit, brought my F-150 in for oil change, and Factory recall 17S33 and 18S27. Service advisor Liz recommend 30,000 mile service consisting of Brake Fluid, Transmission Fluid and Coolant replacement for $700 something. I asked her why would I do that when I only have 24,000 miles. She said to "maintain the integrity of the components". I declined, checked owners manual, there are no recommended services at anywhere near that mileage. I have only 24,174 miles, this is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS for her to recommend those services. Upon picking up truck, I pay cashier and then wait 20min for my vehicle to be brought out, so I go back inside and the cashier pages twice, finally after 25 min my truck is brought out. When I get home, I find out the passenger rear door won't open from the inside and the weather strip is deformed and warped. Second visit to repair rear passenger door and weather strip. Upon pick up, find out the weather strip has to be ordered, now I have to take a third day off to bring my truck in. Also notice A/C on MAX, fan MAX and lights turned off (not auto as I usually keep it) Third visit, upon pick up of vehicle, I see that there is bird crap all over the roof, windshield and side of doors. Just washed truck 2 days prior now it's loaded with bird crap. Person bringing my vehicle out just gets out and walks away without saying a word. Also, notice A/C on MAX, fan MAX and lights turned off (not auto as I usually keep it). Why are the technicians turning off my lights and blasting the A/C? Now,I understood why all Fords Dealerships here on the Island have a bad reputations when come with selling and dealing with customers service ... Just last month,I was at Fords Cutler in Aiea,in searching for a F150 3.5L Eco Boost or a 5.0L Engine. Brian Wong (sell representative) was showing me around,after test driving a XLT,he said it's a eco boost 3.5L max towing around 8,000 pounds. After all deal were final,I took the truck home,still thinking it a 3.5L twin turbocharged. A few day later,I was giving my truck a car wash,pop the hood,was cleaning and reading under the hood. I did not see anything said 3.5Lor 3.3L. It's a 2.7L motor,so I gave Brian a call.which of cause in denial.so he passed me to his sell manager Shawn. Shawn which making like everything all good,"yeah bra,no problems,when we have a new truck coming in around the same prices we take back the other truck,as the same price...on and on...all these promises,blah blah... A month later,there a new truck 2020 Lariat 64k,preowned (only 600 miles(which kind of a scammed move some Fords dealership do,making it preowned to NOT giving a factory 15% off to it 1st owner of the vehicle). In common sense,who in the world gonna buy a truck a wrap it truck for a cost of 5k-6k and then sell/trade back to the dealership? I have no problem with paying another extra 35k-40k added in for a up grade from XLT to Lariat. The only problem was their sell representative teams do not stand to their words most of it time. I got the XLT out the door at 31,500 miles for 43k out the door with it down payment $7,000 including financial cost around $53,000 Their Sell Manager Shawn,(after all these talkings,I'm a man to my words)we buy the truck back from you as it is,but you gonna lost the tax dollars which $2,500 from previous truck. The XLT truck sold at $41,500 without taxes,(he told me then it will be a full recover),and then he changing up his mind,oh the taxes and then the truck lost it value. The worst experience I have ever had at trying to buy a vehicle was at Cutter Ford. Thanks to their dishonest and greedy sales team, they did not and will never get my business. They attempted sell me a used car for a higher price than a new one of the same model without a CPO/warranty. Instead of providing the vehicle history report I had to ask for it. When I did ask for it, they would not provide it. This is a huge red flag and I can't reward companies such as this one with my business. Neither should you! I recomend purchasing west cost dealerships. I was able to get a better deal even with a higher sales tax and shipping fees. Most of the dealerships are very familiar selling to out of state customers. They will drive your purchased vehicle to your shipping service for free and assist you with information on how to register it in Hawaii. read more

This review is for their service department. In March of this year, my husband brought in our 2010 Ford Explorer for a diagnostic check. It cost about $200. Fine, because it was necessary and we were mentally prepared for the worst. The results of the diagnostic check revealed that we'd need to special order a specific part, which cost roughly $700, which we HAD TO PAY UPFRONT in order to get the part shipped. Then, including labor (about $70 per hour) and tax, we were looking at about a little more than a $1000 repair. So, we ordered the part, which the Ford associate, Dino, quoted would come in about a month. Well, a month went by, so naturally my husband called to check on the part. It hadn't come in yet, so we waited. Another week goes by and my husband calls again to check on the part. It hadn't come in yet, so we waited again. Another week goes by and my husband calls again to check on the part. It still hadn't come in yet, so we waited again. This went on for TWO WHOLE MONTHS with my husband leaving voicemails for Dino each time because apparently the policy is only the associate who initially helps you can actually help you and no one else! By this point, it had been THREE MONTHS since we placed our initial order and not one single return call or update from Dino about the part. Next, in July, we began documenting in writing via email our communications with Dino. My husband sent two initial emails to Dino with no reply back. So my husband started cc'ing his supervisors onto all future communications with Dino and only then did we get a reply stating he'd "check" on it. Two weeks would go by and nothing. So, my husband would send another email with the same reply from Dino stating he'd "check" on it. Then, we'd wait another two weeks with nothing again. So, finally, we had enough. In August, we called Cutter Ford inquiring about a refund, but was again told that we'd have to speak to Dino since he was the one that initally helped us. Fed up, we decided to see him in person! Even then, when my husband asked to speak to him he was told that he needed to wait in the lobby because Dino was with another customer. So, he waited. After waiting for over an hour in the lobby, frustrated with the runaround service, my husband starts raising his voice demanding to speak to someone, anyone! Oh, how quickly did they fetch Dino then... In the end, Cutter Ford refunded us the part, but we needed to wait a week for them to cut the check and mail it to us. Then, if you can believe it, about a month AFTER the check was cashed and deposited back into our bank account, Cutter Ford had the audacity to call us up and inform us that the part we had been waiting a half a year for just came in. To top it off, they ask if we still wanted it-- un-freaking-believable! read more

Went back to Cutter today, not really intending to buy a new car, but to get our old car repaired. After receiving the quote for repairs and seeing it was way more than I wanted to spend, time for a new car. We were helped immediately by Bachan (ba-shawn) K., a very nice and personable salesman. We told him what we were looking for, and he was extremely professional and expedient in helping us find the right car. So far I've bought two cars from Cutter, and both were really great experiences. What I really liked about Bachan was his knowledge of the vehicle and it's features, which enabled him to demonstrate what exactly we were getting for our money. I'm not someone who likes to deal with salesmen at all, and I can tell you my experience today with Bachan was great, and will always recommend this dealership, based on their customer service and product quality. read more

Only they were shutdown from Covid-19 it would be a victory. Con-artists that sell pre-owned vehicles that could never make it past the first checklist item posted on Ford's corporate policy. Tire sensors, not present... that's item #1 and my vehicle was certified "pre-owned" and marked up $1,000s because low gas mileage. Performance terrible and transmission slips with zero remedy after many trips to service. Finally changed to Honolulu based Ford dealer and though service was much better there i had little chance to test out the Honolulu shop's mechanics as Cutter had scheduled my checkups in such a manner that my extended warranty covered checkups were exhausted without my knowledge or consent and done so at their direction. This was not discovered until had to bring it elsewhere. They also have highly suspect sales tactics with bait-and-switch tactics and hard sells repeatedly after you all them to task on value of their offers. read more

Cutter Ford has done nothing but disappoint me this year. First, came me trying to get a hold of the finance manager. After calling and calling, no answer, no response to voicemails. Finally get a call back for him to be unpleasant and unhelpful. Communication is clearly not a priority for this dealership. Then, comes my oil change appointment. THIS is my problem. I had an appointment at 3. I called to let them know I'd be running a little late because I had gotten off of work late. I understand that makes it inconvenient to the technicians and service advisors and was okay with rescheduling. But the woman I was talking to in the service department was rude, demeaning and argumentative. She told me that the reason they couldn't take me was because "an oil change takes 2 hours". I worked at a Ford Dealership in the Service department and I know damned well it takes no more than 30 minutes to do the works on a car (if your techs are trained). Instead of being understanding and helping me reschedule, she was arrogant, lying and didn't even bother to help me make a new appointment. Just a "yep so you have to make a new appointment. bye!" While my previous review was certainly warranted at the time, I am updating my review to reflect the fact that they stepped up. After writing my review I received a call from Rumel to follow up and was called personally by the General Manager. The bluetooth of my car could not be fixed because the aftermarket deck that they installed according to my salesperson, wasn't steering wheel control compatible so I was out of luck there. Not my fault, and still now what I was "sold" by the salesman, but I can manage... They replaced my decal and expedited the installation of my alarm and keyless entry. Thankfully, I had Rumel working with me to get all of my concerns rectified, and he checked in with me every step of the way and checked in again after I picked up my car. I appreciate Rumel's customer service and hard work to make sure my car was taken care of-- he's an asset to that dealership. If I ever decide to purchase a vehicle again, I will go directly through Rumel because then I will be sure that I will get taken care of and not mislead. read more

Remarkably, I had a great experience at a dealership. As someone that has been down the path of a dealing with a dealership nearly a dozen of times- I knew I would never go to another. Well I did and Cutter may have restored my faith in them. Well, I am not sure if it was Cutter, but my sales representative, Casey Puccio. From the very beginning I realized I made the right decision vacating the vultures of a competitor to check out Cutter. Working with Casey was definitely a change to the typical dealings with sales personnel. Honestly I felt like I was talking to a friend rather than someone that was trying to sell me something. Definitely not the typical sales person. Many times I've left a place hating the fact the commission went tp the salesman with waxed eyebrows and a shiny forehead. Not the case this time. Another thing that I thought was semi impressive, is that at abput 830, I asked if she was supposed to be off at 8, because I thought that was closing time. She said she, actually would have gotten off at 6- but rather be at work. I believed it, not for a minute did she lose her smile or enthusiasm... I felt worse for keeping her over 2 hours, but this impresses me more when I think about it. I lead a dozen people in her age grpup and wish one had that type of work ethic. The experience did not end there, while in the past I always considered the salesman the vulture and the finance guy the rat. Cutter again went against the grain. I cannot recall the gentleman's name unfortunately but he was anything but the typical scavenging rodent that normally fills that position. Very friendly, very accommodating and just really seemed to be happy in his position. The thing that took it to the next level, after I was done with all of the paperwork, signed and about to leave. He comes out telling me that he found another $500 he saved me. He did not have to continue working after the deal was signed to save me anything and he did not did not have to track me down to have me sign again. You know when you start doing something, knowing it's not a good idea, but for whatever reason you do it anyway? That's pretty much how I feel when I come here for service. I came here almost 2 years ago to get the car checked out after purchasing it and to redeem a coupon for an oil change. I also inquired about getting a new key made, since I only got one copy from the person who sold me the car and the key seemed loose in the casing. I was told that a new key would be about $300, so I ended up getting the key "fixed" here with some foam in a new casing. (They key is loose again.) When they did the oil change and multi-point inspection, they neglected to tell me that the brake pads were gone! (Not that they were worn a bit--they were completely worn away!) I ended up bringing the car to Lex Brodie to get it fixed, since it seemed like something was still really wrong with the brakes due to the noise and feeling every time I braked. Thank goodness I didn't trust in the multi-point inspection at Cutter. Perhaps time softened my memory, but I brought my car in again for "The Works" oil change and multi-point inspection when I got another coupon in the mail. They mentioned there was also a recall on my car, but that they could fix the issue while the oil was being changed, as it was just a system update. I was quoted 1-1.5 hours for the service. It took over 2 hours. I did not get an update from the staff during this entire time. Why give people an estimate when the actual time is going to be double that? I understand that sometimes the shop might get backed up, but just be honest with that up front so I don't have to rearrange my schedule while I wait. When they said they were done, they revealed that they weren't able to fix the recall issue. They weren't sure if they had a faulty cord or if it was an issue with my car, but I have to bring it back once they get a new cord in stock to try the update again. So frustrating! The front desk staff is nice and they generally do a good job checking in the car or dealing with problems, but overall, the oil change coupon just isn't worth the hassle of bringing the car here. read more

Dealership shipped over a damaged a/c evaporator(bent). We contacted the dealership and was told they would get back to us after speaking with their manager. After 3 days of waiting for a call, they refused to replace it with a new undamaged part. This dealership will sell you parts with no problems, but you're on your own if you have any issues with the parts. I do not recommend buying from this dealership. Luckily, there are many other ford dealerships on Oahu that have much better customer support. read more

I had the worst experience today in the service department. I went in to get a copy of my car key, because it's not able to be read at City Mill or anywhere else. Veronica asks me if I would like additional copies of my key, I asked if it would an additional charge, she says no it's included in the service charge. It's about $30 for the 1 key but any additional keys will be included in the service. I said ok sure why not? I can take 3 copies. When all is finished, she tells me the total is almost $300!! I said why is it so much? She tells me that they charged me for all of the extra keys! So of course I'm livid at this point, I told her I'm not paying that amount. She said well, you need your car right!? She threatens me with my car! She said she's going to get a manager, no manager shows up. Just Veronica telling me she's charging me $144.02, when really it should've only been about $110, but whatever, I was over it and just wanted to leave. She walks away and doesn't even say thank you or anything. Very horrible customer service. She should no longer work there. read more

I came to this ford dealership 3 times to fix my car, I was told it was three different things. I thought the representative I had was nice, until he basically told me that I couldn't make an appointment on the weekend. I was told my car was fixed after paying $500, then all he Noises came back, brought it back, and blamed my rims. I didn't trust my representative and took it to the Ford in Honolulu. They discovered my problem, and fixed it no problem and everything was under warranty. I would not recommend this service here unless you plan on blowing unnecessary money. Update: the assistant service manger has helped me out and cleared the issue. My review still stands, I don't think all of the service is like this but I will keep my honest review up. read more

Bought a Ford Escape Limited back in 2013 certified pre-owned and was satisfied up until the tire sensors went off at 50 miles. Brought it back and it was "repaired". Went off again and brought it to Honolulu Ford because I could not afford lost time of driving all the way to Aiea and they discovered that the sensors were not even in the tires and it would be over $175 for new ones. When I brought up the "certified" angle they said bring it to selling dealer. Cutter then inserted the sensors after a bit of back and forth. Fast forward a few months later. Grinding severely in rear brakes. Got it fixed but had to pay diagnostics fee. Same problem, same fix about two more times until I was a little more assertive and the mechanic said he found the problem and that it was a tool rolling around in the storage... except it couldn't have been as the "tool" was an L-shaped Allen wrench to which I inquired exactly how could it roll around given the shape and why would it slow down as I slowed down--both of which defy laws of the universe. I brought it to another dealer (not going to drop name because don't want to come off as plugging another dealer) and they fixed it for the most part with it being less frequent now. They notified me that it must be a defect common with that model. That's when I switched to other dealer and they revealed that my expensive warranty was all but useless as Cutter had used up all of my covered checkups all the way past even the 40k Miles point and I still had only 20k miles and years left on the warranty!!! In a nutshell they sold me a "certified" lemon that would have killed me financially if I hadn't paid for the $1,000s+ gold warranty. I wish I could say it was just the mechanics but during the selling of the vehicle Ghani, who seems a cool guy for the most part, told me I could leverage some of the cosmetic issues durin a negotiation with the managers only to flip on me in the negotiation room and say "That mark? It's only a little scratch...". That was a bush league move but at that point we were on hour six of eight and were close to closing on everything (yes eight hours). I still have the car and it should have some resale value with low mileage and and no more kinks, but that kudos is on Ford Motor Company and the unnamed Ford dealer in the Farrington area of Honolulu for making a vehicle that last and for getting into "certified" shape sans age of vehicle. I'm never going to Cutter again largely from an honesty standpoint and from the fact that they pay their mechanics by how many vehicles go through the shop and not by the hour. That part is true as of early last year anyway and I'm pretty sure is still the case. Hope the review helps and don't be afraid to ask many questions when dealing with Cutter as they are the type that won't always lie to your face but thy certainly won't pass up a chance to play dumb for profit. read more

I've bought two vehicles in the past from Cutter Ford, but never again. I went for my chiro appointment today and my doctor said he had preordered the new Maverick truck for $23k and had been waiting since last year for it to arrive. Well, it finally arrived and they called him in to take delivery, but now they wanted an additional $5k. He had preordered at an expected price and they're jacking the price up because the market went up while he was waiting for his truck. I'd get it if he just walked in off the street wanting to buy the truck, but feel they should have honored the price at which is was ordered...especially considering how long he had to wait for it. I'll be looking for a new car for my daughter in the next year, but won't consider Cutter Ford after this scummy move, and will be sure to let everyone I know in the meantime. Cutter Ford is a big rip-off! Big zero would be my honest rating. They lie and try to sell you things you don't need. My 69 year old friend took her truck to cutters to have her cam phasers worked on. Fords 5.4L engine is well known to have the cam phasers fail and it's a real problem when you hear all of the rattling noise in the engine. They took the truck in and said they would start the repairs and call later. The sales lady, Noel, calls back later in the afternoon to say it will take another day to finish the job. Noel calls the next morning and says that the engine is shot and the cylinders are full of gunk! The options are overhaul the engine at 6k-7k or replace the motor at $10k. So my friend oks the overhaul since it's the cheaper option! About an hour later, my friend tells me that she is having her trucks engine overhauled because that is what is needed!?!? I said I wanted to talk to the sales lady so I called and Noel told me the same thing about all the gunk in the cylinders and an overhaul was needed to fix the problem! I asked her how they knew all the gunk was in the cylinders, and she said they inserted a camera and saw the gunk! I said I wanted to see pictures of the damaged cylinders since they inserted the camera and I also told her I was a mechanic and that I had checked the engine and the cylinders were all good, no burning oil, no smoke from exhaust and the truck had a lot of power! Noel quickly says she isn't sure and needed to talk to the mechanic. 20 minutes later Noel calls back and says she used the wrong words and now don't need the overhaul or new engine but we have to pay $475 to remove the valve covers so they can see what's wrong! What happened to them inserting the camera inside the engine to see the problem! Liars, liars liars! I told Noel that we didn't want them to do anything to the truck and that we would take it to another reputable repair shop and not to this STEALERSHIP! Shame on Cutter Ford for trying to rip-off our kupuna who put their trust in you and your employees! Shame on you Noel to try and rip-off my friend and didn't even say sorry for all the lies! Don't ever take your repairs to Cutter Ford, unless you want to get taken advantage of! read more

Bought a 2021 truck from Cutter Ford last year. The drivers door has been falling off since about 3 weeks after purchase. I keep tightening the bolt and it keeps coming loose. Also drivers seat belt does not retract. And inside door panel is falling off. Cutter told me they need to have my work truck for a week to fix this, and would get me a rental vehicle. I said okay even though not having my work truck for a week is pretty inconvenient. I get to my appointment at Cutter Ford and the rental car company calls me for credit card for partial payment and security. I never was told I would be paying for the rental car. That is ludicrous. You sold me a truck that is not as advertised, and has safety issues. Doors falling off leaves no blurry area- that isn't supposed to happen. A customer is not one car today- they are like 10 cars over a lifetime. I have had Fords my entire life. I won't be buying any from Cutter Ford henceforth. read more

Susie in service is a real piece of work. Zero customer service. Told us we couldn't tow our 2021 Raptor to their dealership because we didn't have an appointment. Yes, TOW! It broke down on the side of the road less than a mile away and wouldn't start. If we wanted our vehicle serviced by them (mind you... we bought the truck from them!!!) then we would need to tow the truck back to our own house and make an appointment and then schedule another tow from our house back to the dealership. So we went on their app and booked an appointment for two days later. Susie called and said their online system is messed up and that appointment was not an option and the next available appointment would be 2.5 weeks later. Keep in mind we would not receive a rental car until the vehicle was checked in and diagnosed. But we can't check in the vehicle because Susie said if we bring it to the dealership she will be waiting outside to turn the tow truck away! We confirmed with Ford this is NOT the case and they have had complaints about this dealership previously telling other customers this as well. They advised us to pick a new dealership to ensure we receive better service. So we did exactly that. Do not EVER buy from Cutter. read more

Poor customer service. I waited over an hour for a very simple setting to be adjusted on my SUV. I know I was first in line because I got there 1/2 hour before the mechanics start work. Anyway nobody called me so I set off looking for my car. Couldn't find it at first but ran into my service advisor. She told me my car was "over there" and they were almost finished. I went "over there" and low and behold there is my car all finished and ready to go. When I approached the service advisor she could have said something like I'm so sorry, I was just about to call you, or something like that but no, just "i'll get the papers ready" I wonder how long my car was sitting there waiting for me and how long it would have taken if I never went looking for it. Nobody there showed anthing in the least like they actually cared about hoe I felt. Piss Poor Training and management in my opinion. read more

This review is for the service department. When I bought my car a few years back I opted for the maintenance plan so that cutter would cover all my car services except cosmetic and tire wear (that would be extra). Best decision I made, I've only ever had good experiences. They call me to remind me and schedule whenever my car needs service. I go in, drop off my car and it's done in about 1-1.5 hours. I normally just hang around the area grab food but they do have a shuttle taxi. If you ever by a Ford I highly recommend opting for the maintenance package, yes it's extra but in the end you'll be glad your keeping your new car up to date and it's carefree, less stressful! read more
