This was my first time at Cutten and I really like the vibe. Great music of all types and tvs to watch sports. The food was good with different options. I had the meatloaf which was tender and juicy. I also had the deviled eggs which was a nice twist with the fried chicken bites. The service was off as our waiter appeared to be extremely busy. I think if they had more staff that would help. They also ran out of greens which we ordered and didn't offer any other options. I'd go back for sure. read more

We went on Juneteenth to support our businesses, and I can't lie--it will probably be a while before I return. We were told Thursday was Steak night, but they were referring to country-fried steak. That's not steak, but okay, cool, no problem. We arrived at 7 but were also told it was all-day happy hour, so I had a drink, and my stepfather had two beers off the happy hour menu. My wife and I both ordered the country steak with gravy on the side. So our food came halfway prepared. There was no gravy, and my wife's mac and cheese wasn't mac and cheese! The waitress immediately returned the mac and cheese and was told she would bring out the gravy for us. Well, they returned the mac and cheese, but NO GRAVY. Who serves country fried steak on "Steak night" with no gravy? This makes no sense!!! By the time watery gravy arrived, we were halfway done eating our meal. After receiving the bill and a brief conversation with the waiters, I realized that happy hour ends at 6, not all day. She took care of that portion for us. I was so disappointed in the food. The Hamburger helper was piled with so much cheese you couldn't enjoy the meal. I called to speak with a manager to let them know how the meal was distasteful. I was asked why did I need to speak to manager along with a series of questions only to be told the manager was gone and the individual I was speaking with was the manager. I then explained my issue with the food and explained I had an issue earlier with ordering which the manager on duty "Andre" did resolve. I was put on hold only to be asked for my phone number and told he would call me tomorrow. I then get a call back from the real manager on duty and went through explaining AGAIN why I was displeased with my food. This person told me in order for them to refund me I would need to bring the uneaten food. I explained I was at work and was no where near the restaurant. I took a picture of my food which I didn't get to eat for lunch due to prior issues of ordering on an app in which they said they didn't deal with so it took about 45 mins to correct that issue. It's not about the refund they could've offered to make something else. I do not want to eat something that was completely overpowered with cheese that you couldn't enjoy. After having dined here several times I must change my mind about Cutten Kitchen. My first review discussed a glowing review for my meatloaf meal followed by a good review of the chicken salad sandwich and a poor review of the grilled salmon meal. I still rated the restaurant a 4 mainly about the first meal. Since my last review, I've tried the hamburger (3.5) and fries (2) which I didn't care for the seasoning used on them. Most recently, I tried my belived meatloaf meal again and left really disappointed. The previous meatloaf had a firmer slightly crispy exterior and a smokey flavor making it unusual and delicious. This time it had your typical soft exterior with still a hint of smoke but it's now back to your average tasting meatloaf (3). The side salad has been downsized significantly in size and quality. Now it's just some lettuce and sliced cherry tomatoes (3). I don't know what happened but it's not the same robust salad I had a couple of months ago. Finally the biggest disappointment was the mashed potatoes and cream gravy. The old gravy was full of rich flavor and consistency. Now it's very thin gravy with little flavor. More of an afterthought. It's like drinking whole milk your entire life and then trying a glass of skim. Finally over my last two meals here the portion of complimentary cornbread has been reduced in size. Unfortunately I did not take any pics of this meal. My experiences have noted a decline since my first visit. I am sorry to report this because I really liked this restaurant initially but don't like it trending downward as it has. Oh yeah ! My mom took me here as an engagement celebration. And we were initially told our wait time was 2 hours, but that quickly changed to 15 minutes!! Wonderful!! We had four people and the waitress/Host Mabey? sat us down and just walked away didn't ask if we needed anything(water etc.) or tell us how to order. Now to the food I ordered the crawfish egg rolls chicken fried steak and the meatloaf. The egg rolls had a good flavor but man have you ever had a floppy spilling egg roll? 5/10 at most. And don't get me started on burnt cornbread my god‍. My chicken fried steak was mid-cold not even crispy and my dirty rice was cold as well. My friend ordered what he thought was a po-boy, it was basically a fish sand-which I don't know how you make a po-boy without french bread ‍and his rice was cold as well. I recently visited this newish restaurant and really wanted to like the place, but the menu isn't that large (more like a casual restaurant) and the food ordered was just average at best. It's also a little confusing when you enter, since it's not that obvious, but this is a counter service restaurant and you have to look around to figure out if someone is going to seat you, or what. I visited on a weekday, and it was pretty slow, except for a group sitting in a reserved section off to the left. They do have outdoor patio seating as well. My group ordered the 1/2 lb "homemade patty" bacon cheeseburger, the patty melt, and the grilled chicken sandwich. Burger - it is NOT a homemade patty. It's a preformed oval-shaped patty that tastes like something direct from Sysco. French fries are pre-seasoned and previously frozen. I liked that it came with cheddar and red onions though. However, for around $15, it also comes with cheap iceberg lettuce. The bun is okay, but overall, this burger has a high bun to meat ratio. You don't taste the cheese much at all. Bacon is the best thing about this burger. 3/5 at best Patty melt - same patty, average if you like patty melts 3/5 Cutten chicken sandwich - bun is thick. Cheese and the sauce they put on this are the best things about the whole sandwich. 3/5 Service is ok, they drop your food off and after that you don't see any employees much. I met some friends up here for dinner one night. When I arrived there was a note on the door saying that it was closed and would open later at 6p. I was meeting my friend at 5:30p, so I gave them a call and we decided to wait till 6p instead of meeting somewhere else. She didn't get impatient with me (there wasn't anyone behind me) and she even made some suggestions. After you order, you get a number, your drink glass and find your own seat. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. We took a seat next to the windows and waited for our dinner. I ordered Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. Chicken Fried Steak - was a good size, nicely breaded and tender. It was pretty good. The cream gravy was really good. Mashed Potatoes - Smooth and creamy. What you'd expect when ordering mashed potatoes. Green Beans - Probably my favorite part of the meal. I love green beans and these didn't disappoint. I'd go back if I was in the neighborhood, but wouldn't make a special trip to go. It was good, just not GREAT! read more

We went to Cutten Kitchen for a 2nd visit because of an IG post. We thought we would give it another try. Last experience it was new and there was no one there. This time it was several people and they evidently are not ready for the expansion. Here goes the experience: It's a party of two. We were seated fast. We received our menus and give quite a bit of time to look over the menu. Drink order was taken and we were told we would receive our appetizer by the way is a very thin slice of cornbread. No plates to eat on, no silverware because we later found out they only had enough for a big party of twenty who was celebrating a birthday. Not ready for expansion. Once we placed our order it took a minute to get the food. Food had a good taste but what Cutten Kitchen needs is servers, bus servers, a bartender, and hostess. Several people are doing everything so makes me believe they can't afford staffing they definitely were short on all fronts. After we had eaten here is where service got bad. Ticket came and we decided to pay in cash so we could leave a tip. We believe in tipping accordingly. The waitress was given a 100.00 our bill was 60.62 which meant we were owed 39.38. She brought back the 39.00 but not the .38 cents. No explanation that they were short on change. I don't believe the customer should take a loss without any explanation just 39.00 so we got someone attention and the waitress comes over and she brings another 1.00 saying we don't have change and in these situations we either go up or down. What does that mean? That should have been explained when we made the exchange or maybe Cutten Kitchen should be a cashless restaurant. I believe they can be better once and if they tweak those minor changes if they are able because being in the restaurant business is no easy feat. I try to support businesses because I am an owner myself and know that it takes small businesses to keep the economy stable. However customer service in many environments is at an all time low. Hopefully they will be around because that location has been renamed since inception at least twice. read more
