Oxtails, rice & peas, plantain and garden salad

I am back. Brought my sister this time. My first visit was wonderful and this return started out great. Alex is a pleasant host. Our server, Se-An was delightful. She was excellent with menu suggestions from appetizers through dessert. She was engaging and attentive throughout the evening. We shared an order of Jerk Chicken Wings with ranch on the side. The wings are tastier tossed with the jerk sauce. She ordered the Seafood Pasta. It was delicious but there's lots of shells. I ordered the Oxtails which I enjoyed better the first time. The flavor was still on point but it was so tender that it there were more bones meat. Note: There is a charge for bottled water, I'm guessing, if no drinks are ordered. That's based on my first visit. Overall a good, relaxing experience. The restroom, which we used before entering, was impressively decent

Imagine walking into a restaurant by accident and walking out with one of the most unforgettable meals of your life. That's exactly what happened at Cutlass & Cane. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary in St. Thomas and looking for the perfect spot for dinner. She had one request: oxtail. We ended up here kind of by chance and turns out, we hit the jackpot. Right from the entrance, the energy is warm and welcoming. The staff is genuinely sweet, the waterfront setting is romantic, and you can still see hints of the building's past life as the old Gucci store (a nice little touch of island luxury). Our server let us know the oxtail had just sold out. My wife was bummed, but we rolled with it. Then one of the owners stopped by to check on us and when she mentioned she came here hoping for oxtail, he made it happen. I don't know how. I don't ask questions. All I know is a plate of fall-off-the-bone oxtail arrived like a miracle served with rice and peas, sweet plantains, and a fresh salad. I had the ribeye, cooked to perfection, with homemade garlic mashed potatoes, wine brown gravy, and tender broccolini. One of the best steaks I've ever had on an island. And let's talk desserts... Mango passion fruit cheesecake - tangy, creamy, unreal Coconut rum cake - soaked in island joy Bread pudding - warm, rich, perfect This is local ownership done right, native St. Thomians pouring love into the food and the experience. Real people with real stories, treating guests like family. We'd come back to St. Thomas just to eat here again. This wasn't just a great anniversary dinner. It was a highlight of our entire trip. Run, don't walk. Cutlass & Cane is that special. Don't miss: Romantic waterfront dining Real-deal oxtail (ask for it early!) Locally owned & beautifully run Located in the old Gucci store - classy island vibe

I love this place. It had a beautiful ambience, we sat outside on their newer patio with a view of the harbor. The food was lovely. The server was friendly and helpful. Not quite sure why this restaurant has such bad reviews, but I would go back in a heartbeat. The menu is not as descriptive about dishes as it should be. For example, the Chilean Seabass was not described as having a pistachio crust or a bouillabaisse. The grilled octopus was surprisingly tender. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

This restaurant is absolutely stunning and is located right by the water. The hostess is very pleasant and the sitting area is chic. The restaurant requires all parties to be present before being seated and the bar area is open for walk ins. Our waitress Sin did an excellent job going over the menu and provided suggestions. She catered to all of us and had the friendliest personality. The oxtails were perfectly cooked and the meat fell off the bones. Everyone at the table left satisfied. If I could change one thing it would be faster service, but since we weren't in a rush it worked out perfectly for my family. I would dine here again.

This was my favorite meal during my trip. The ambiance is gorgeous and the service is top tier. It's located right on the water and used to be a Gucci store. The owner, AJ, met us as soon as our taxi arrived and was very personable. Miguel was our waiter and was fantastic. We ordered the caesar salad and stuffed lobster which was 10/10. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return whenever I am back on the island.

Decided to try cutlass and cane and find out what the hype is about what a disappointment for the prices they charge you think they would at least have a well trained staff ordered 3 apps lobster egg rolls tuna tataki and oysters they were ok But not for the price they charge and when I ordered salmon for an entree the bartender asked me how I wanted it cooked I said how do I want it cooked? Yes he said medium medium rare medium well I said I like it cooked but ok give it to me medium well and when it came out it was totally raw needless to say it was not edible and it turned me off he asked if I would like the kitchen cook up a new one I said no thank you at the end when he gave me the bill he took 1 glass of wine off the bill beware at that these prices you should have that problem and should not have to asked them to remove dirty plates in front of you Never returning and definitely not worth the money I guess people on st thomas are so desperate to have a good restaurant on island but to me it's not CUTLASS&CANE that's for sure

We made a reservation, but honestly it didn't seem totally necessary when we went. From the moment we sat down, the staff was on top of everything and so friendly. You could tell they really care about the experience, and everything flowed perfectly without feeling rushed. For drinks, we ordered the Vessup and the Carib and both were so good. The Vessup especially stood out, the cream on top was so smooth and delicious and just made the whole drink. They brought out fresh bread to start and it was so good (always a win in my book). For dinner, we went with the lobster with potato and broccolini and it was incredible. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were just on point. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and service, this was easily one of our favorite dinners on the trip. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're looking for something a little nicer but still with that island feel.

Hand down the best place to eat in the area. It's very small, but packs a punch with great customer service, cool drinks and outstanding food. Best to try and get in on their off hours to get a table without a wait. We literally ate here 4 times when we were on the island. An absolute MUST to order is their Bacon Jalapeno tater kegs! OMG-They're the bomb! Wings are decent and the burgers are juicy, flavorful and delicious! You really can't go wrong with ANYTHING on the menu. Everything is made fresh to order. The decor is island themed chaos in every fun way possible. If you happen to have to use the restroom it's located outside (customs ONLY) The key ring they'll hand you is a toilet lid! LOL You can ring in another way too! On your trip to the john, call in sick to work and stay on the island! You're enticed too by the retro phone sitting a top a keg outdoors as well. Great photo opts! Happy Hour is daily! The Love Shack offers particular deals with half-priced cocktails. We did Margs on Monday! Signature drinks include the 50oz Volcano Drink, Shark Attack, and souvenir cocktails like the Pirates Booty in a ceramic mugs. FYI- They may attach a certain creature to your glass also. Perfect vibe, casual dinning and great accommodations by the staff (for our big party) who were so friendly and professional. This is a must experience spot when visiting St Thomas.

Duffy's provides free parking which is a rarity and right at noon, the mall lot had tons of open spots. We both ordered burgers, one with the standard fries and one with onion rings. Burger was thick with a nice crisp, almost tasted like a smash burger but thicker. Service was good. It was the one spot where we didn't have to pay for a refill of soda. They were playing the best music! No waitlist or host so you have to linger and wait for someone to leave if you need a table and they are full. Great stop.

Our flights routed through Atlanta to St. Thomas; there are no flights to St. John, only a ferry from St. John (or St. Croix), so we stayed one overnight at the Marriott Frenchman's Cove, which is next-door on the peninsula from the Westin, which is where you find Luna Mar; Frenchman's Cove offers rides in the hotel shuttles, and you can also walk... note that the short distance is hilly, and there are some blind spots but can also hear the cars coming, so if you walk, you should apply common sense and use all five physical senses and you'll be ok. Luna Mar, at the Westin, is a fantastic property, with wonderful views of Charlotte-Amalie and the rest of St. Thomas in one direction, and a view out into the ocean to the other direction. Luna Mar is an open-air restaurant... yet no insects! Unsure how that was/is possible, but we do confirm that there were no insects the night we dined there.
