Still on the hunt for a nail salon. Okay polish selection, and observing covid safety. This place was promising based on reviews but lacked in attention to detail. Gel manicure has polish all over my side cuticle and skin. Pedicure resulted in a bloody big toe that stung like crazy. Rather than cleaning with clean water, she rinsed it with the dirty foot bath water too. Going to have to pass on this place. Especially with prices being the same as the fancier salons in the area. Tony doesn't listen to what you want, or at least he says he hears and understands, but in reality he does not. Don't tell him he's wrong or did something incorrect, because he is not going to be receptive. He argued with me regarding his interpretation of how I wanted my nails after yelling at me telling me he knows what he's doing. This is his expertise. I won't go there again. Had a Manicure and Pedicure by Sue yesterday. The foot and lower leg massage after a hot soaking, feels so relaxing. Then she applies various oils to the feet and massages them with her hands. She finishes up with a hot foot wrap. That is a feel good experience. When Sue finished the manicure, she applies oils, and massages the lower arms and hands. When you get both pedicure, and manicure, afterward you feel like you just had a Guilty Pleasure. I've been coming here with my wife for over 4 years. Normally just a manicure for me. After a lot of encouragement by the owner Tony, I finally let Sue do a pedicure. I have been hooked since that time. Now, I know why so many ladies come here, so often. Yesterday, I had one of those intense, guilty pleasure moments. Sue went beyond her massage timer. I highly recommend this salon, and ask for Sue or Tony's wife. I should say upfront that I'm prone to getting infections, so it's not completely their fault. But if their instruments were cleaned properly, then maybe this wouldn't have happened. So, I like scratching off the polish because it's satisfying. After I scratched it off my pinky, I noticed some kind of yellow color along the edge of my nail, traveling underneath. I thought it was the skin pulling away from the nail because the salon person was too rough when cleaning under my nails (there were a lot of sores on my toes at the corners and cuticles where their trimmer caught skin, so I kind of expected that for my pinky too), but the yellow seemed to spread as the weeks passed, and it's underneath the nail and a little painful to press on. I googled it and apparently it's the beginning of a mild nail fungus. And yes, my toes were infected for a while from the sores from the clippers, but I know how to treat infections. Nail fungus is a new beast, so if it doesn't go away soon or if it gets worse, I'll call a specialist to look at it. I'd give Cutee Nails 2 stars because the polish job was nice, but the aftercare for all the little infections and now this new fungal thing are a pain in the ass and I wish I hadn't gone, so 1 star it is. If you're not prone to infections, you should be fine going here, hopefully. But in my experience, this place isn't safe for me. read more

I really wanted to like Cutee Nails, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I came here on a random weekday afternoon to get my old gel nail removed and get another gel manicure. Unlike other places that charges to get your old gel removed, Cutee Nails charges $28 for gel manicure. I also like design on my nails and they charge $5 extra for any design (for 2 nails only). I called the place and the guy owner picked up the call and told me that there was no wait to come by. When I walked in, everyone was super friendly. As someone mentioned in a previous review, this is a no frills salon. If you want a pampering kind of salon, this place is definitely not it. But, this did not matter to me, since I was just going for a quick manicure. I am a creature of habit and I like black nails, so I told the lady that was doing my nails that I wanted black nail with a design. I was not sure what design I wanted, so she showed me a few samples. None of them were what I wanted (I really like simple design on my nails). So, I showed her a picture of stripe design that I saw online. She worked very quickly on my nails. However, the reason why I am giving this place 2 stars is that my design on my nails were so messy. I didn't think that the design was particularly hard (It's not like I wanted something complicated) and the lines on the stripes were so messy. I didn't want to complain, so I didn't say anything. But, had I known that the design was going to be so messy, I would have just gone for regular gel manicure with no design. In addition, the rest of the polish on my nails did not apply very well, so there is a lot of spaces (gaps?) in my nails. This salon had very nice owners, but I would not come back here based upon the messy application for my manicure. I want to like this place, I truly do but I am never, never, ever coming back here again. There is a reason why the raving reviews are about Tony. I came in on a Monday afternoon and there were two clients being serviced. I sat and read one of the tabloids while waiting. I just needed my gel mani removed and an eyebrow wax. It's $5 to remove the polish and an extra $2 to trim the nails and file it, which I thought was ridiculous and unnecessary. She did do a thorough soaking to remove the polish though. But I noticed she blew her nose on a tissue and then proceed to soak my nails without washing her hands. She was precise in shaping my brows but she fucking burned my right eyelid and made my brows thinner than I wanted. She also used neosporin and then aloe vera gel on my brows, but she used her fingers - these same fingers that were handling my nails and her nose. It's just not very sanitary. The file she used was dirty and looked worn as well as the buffer. I'll pass on the lack of sanitation, unnecessary extra fees and the burned skin. I'm also bummed that no one was friendly and hospitable to me even though other customers were greeted as family ( but obviously weren't). Hours later, skin still burning. Very evident red patch that feels both wet and tight. Makeup can't cover this. FML. F this place too. read more

Love this place I've been coming here for two years now, every time left a satisfied customer. The first time I came in I had a long day at work and needed something to lift my spirit. Went for my regular combo: French pedicure and normal manicure and reviewed yelp for the best spot nearby. I called and spoke to Tony and made an appointment for a few hours later. I drove up to the little strip mall parked in front and was genuinely greeted by the owner Tony. Li took care of my pedicure while Tony did my hands which were in a horrible state. What I expected was to get a fair priced good experience and I got way more. Tony made me laugh, he was interested in my day and cracked jokes with his colleague who has missed a career in stand up comedy! I felt refreshed, in a better mood and have pretty feet and hands again. Will definitely be back!!! Price was 33 bucks including the up charge for French. Another lucky find on Yelp!! I was in town visiting some friends and decided to get my nails done spur of the moment. Though Cutee only had 16 reviews, most of them were glowing so I decided to give it a try. It's located in the same plaza as 7-11. It's a really small salon with 4 tables and 4 spa chairs. One thing I have to say about this salon is that the owners really pay attention to detail. I'm sure at higher priced salon, you would expect this attention to detail as a norm, but at reasonably priced salons like this, it really is appreciated. Pros: -Service: You won't get that Vietnamese chatter between the workers like at most typical salons. Both workers who worked on me (Tony and Tina-the hubby/wife owners) spoke to me in English. Tony is quite the chatter box and I thoroughly enjoyed my lil chats with him. He greeted the other 2 customers who walked in the door by name and seemed to have quite a good relationship with both of them. I guess you would call this the nail salon version of Cheers! LOL! -Cleanliness: Salon is well maintained. Very clean and updated equipment. Nail polish was neatly sorted by color (in different ranges of shades). All equipment was taken out of sterile packages. - ATTENTION TO DETAIL: I normally get the basic spa pedi and gel mani package. In all the places that I've been to, it never included all the extras I received at Cutee: --warm towel wrap on my feet --salt scrub on my legs --heated lotion used in my hand massage! Cons: - None! Other than the fact it's located in Torrance, which is an hour away from me :( Gel Mani, regular pedi, with callous removal, and cute snowflake decorations for my toes (OMG! I coudln't believe it when she offered to do snowflakes! Most places just do flowers, which is so boring..) came out to $52. What a deal! One lady did the first half and another took over just for the polish part.
