Today the service was exceptional. The young technician, Jon Brooks, texted he was on his way. When I answered the door he informed me my mailbox was lying in the street. He then went out, picked it up, brought it into the garage, found proper screws for it then put it back up for me. His thoughtfulness is much appreciated. I am a new customer for CT Irrigation. I had some issues with my last service provider (late startups and shutdowns). After setting up new service for the year (2026), I had a choice of early startup or later startup. An appointment was setup so that I could work with the service technician to explain my system and needs. The service technician called before arriving to say he was 15 minutes out - he arrived 15 minutes later. He quickly did a check of the Non-Return apparatus and found that both brass valve bodies were cracked (this was a result of late shutdown last year by previous service). He had the parts needed on his truck and he quickly repaired that and did an excellent job of installation. We then went through my system zone-by-zone and head-by-head. He found one head that was damaged and he quickly replaced it. He also found a leak in the yard and he was able to cut the sod and immediately zero in on the pin-hole leak in the underground supply pipe. He did an excellent job of fixing that. He also proposed a way to solve a problem I have where I need a sprinkler head to cover a small area in the back of my yard. I am very impressed with the communications with the CT office personnel as well as the service technician (Danny). Danny is very knowledgeable and professional, as well as a good communicator. I noticed a big leak in my backyard over the weekend and couldn't figure out how to shut the water off. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get anyone out but after reaching the guy on call, was so happy when they said they'd be right out. Within 1 hour they had the water off and even explained what the problem was so I could approve the repairs to be done. Great company! read more

Their payment process is poor, they never return calls, they charge for work that wasn't even done, they left the cap off the box, they tore my valve cover, and didn't even test the system or turn it on when they were done. What a waste of $800. read more

Stay away from Custom Touch Irrigation! They overcharge immensley; they do not install products correctly and refuse fix erroneous invoices. We were charged double retail on an 8 zone controller and we found out much later that it was not installed correctly. We asked for a follow up service call to correct, and SHOCKED to receive yet ANOTHER invoice. CTI refused to acknowledge their error and demanded payment. TLDR: Don't trust them. They have inexperienced techs, they don't come out when scheduled, you end up with damage to your system and they don't honor their word. We'd had Custom Touch take care of our irrigation system since we bought our house. We've had issues on and off as it relates to winterization. The past 2 years, we've called them for winterization of our system and experienced problems. The first year, they showed up and did an incomplete job and we experienced freeze damage to our backflow system. They then came out in the spring and gave us a $250 estimate to repair the damage caused by their work. They agreed that they were negligent after I lodged a complaint and after that, they replaced the backflow valve. The tech that came out personally told me that the original tech that serviced our system in the fall the previous year was inexperienced and that he had a lot of complaints lodged against him for sub-par work. Last year, we scheduled them to come out again in the fall to winterize the system. They called and left a voicemail confirming the date that their tech would be out. We were gone that day, so we had no idea whether they came or not, but everything they do with our system is outside of our home, so we couldn't tell. Fast-forward to February of this year, we had a deep freeze and when the weather warmed up a bit, I woke up to a river of water flowing outside from our backflow system. Not only was the system not winterized, but no one actually came from CTI in the fall after they confirmed that we were scheduled. Had I known that they never showed, I could have followed up before the freeze to make sure the system was winterized, but we relied upon their word that since we were scheduled, that it was completed. I immediately shut the water off. I called CTI to complain and I was just done with the constant issues. I wanted our system capped. I received a call back from Elle at CTI who offered to only charge us a $95 dispatch fee to cap the system as opposed to their typical dispatch fee plus time and materials. Since the system couldn't be started and it was too cold to deal with the system anyway, we opted to wait until it warmed up. I emailed CTI back to have them cap the system and explained the issues from the beginning and they changed their tune and said that they would no longer honor their offer. I get it that there was some time after the initial call to CTI, but that was due to it being too cold outside to deal with the system and the residual water that was still in the lines. I emailed them a copy of the voicemail and they still would not honor their word. I guess 10 years as a customer isn't enough of an incentive to want to keep us. We'll be moving on to another company. read more

I used to work at custom touch and figured I'd give the insider scoop on what goes on for the customers.... I worked in Service, Install, and Customer Service, for anyone considering this company I urge you to look elsewhere, the management doesn't care for their workers or their customers. They lie to their customers and blow them off. When I worked customer service I heard things like "just tell them to suck it up" or "I really don't care, if they wanna complain then just hang up." The managerial staff is uneducated in the craft and do next to no work. The lower employees are absolutely stand up people, but those who work in the office have absolutely no idea what they are doing and they will run you for every dollar you're worth. The management team forces install and service crews to cut corners and save money for the company, for example giving you faulty and sometimes even used/broken equipment. In conclusion, run away, run far... far... away. read more

Had an in-ground lawn irrigation system capped off because it was not being used. The job took 5 minutes at most, parts cost about $1.00 but charge for this was $350. I will be calling the office to lodge a formal complaint. read more

Poor scheduling and customer service. Services were 3 weeks out when I made an appointment. They called within 3 days of the appointment to try to move me back an Additional 2.5 weeks. My home's previous owner used Custom Touch, so I continued. They serviced my system in the fall and then came in the spring (by appointment) to turn it on again, and I was pleased. But I have two issues now that I cannot get a satisfactory response to. They apparently did not submit the required backflow test certification so I keep getting notices. And when I call I often get a recording that basically says, "We're busy, we'll call when we get around to it." Twice I've had promises to call back the following morning, and twice they have not called. I have paid the cost for the annual program, but I am going to find another company next year. read more

I had my service turned on and the back flow test conducted by Custom Touch in the spring. I turned the water on last night and came out the next morning to find they had left two valves open and my water ran all night. When I called in the morning to leave a voice mail regarding what had happened the system transferred me automatically to their emergency line. When I told him I didn't need emergency services he said "maybe I should listen to the prompts better." I managed to maintain my cool and explained that it transferred automatically. Then I explained the problem I had had and he said he wasn't the technician that did it. There was no concern for the situation this company had put me nor was there an apology. Needless to say I will be using a different company next year! I have to say every year the service quality has gone down and the cost has gone up and this was the final straw! read more

On May 29th someone came out to repair a leak, he was unable to do so, and said that he would make a note that it still needed repair, and that someone would be back to repair it. August 6th I called and had to leave a message to say that it was still not repaired. I called again on September 11th and had to leave another message to say it was still not fixed and that I still hadn't heard from anyone. September 12th I received a call and they were out the next day. Since then I received a survey asking about my service. Instead of filling out the survey, I answered the questions in a letter. I received a call on September 24th, unfortunately I missed the call but called back in 15 minutes. They wanted to talk to me about my survey. I have left 3 messages now and still no response. We are having major work done in the backyard next month, but I will be having another company do the irrigation work. read more

Had them scheduled to come to open our irrigation system a week ago. Nobody showed up and now they tell us we were never scheduled, they never had us down, etc. Now the female who answers the phone will not let us speak to someone who is in charge or can tell us anything, and will only offer us the next date they have open which is two weeks away. She hung up when we asked to speak to her supervisor or someone who could rectify the situation. Business must be booming if they can blow off long time customers! Do not bother with them. read more
