These fellas are kind, understanding, professional, hardworking, reliable, etc. I'll go on in this review to explain how an installation with multiple hiccups and hurdles proved that The Car Audio Shop deserves five stars. ---------------- ANDROID HEAD UNITS ---------------- I ordered a beautiful 12" Android head unit and asked TCAS to install it. Nick initially refused, mentioning customers are never satisfied with them and neither are they. I paid for them to put it in after the warning, and I saw what they meant. It didn't work with steering wheel controls, sounded awful, etc. I hated it on day one of install and scheduled my next visit that day. ---------------- STINGER HEAD UNITS ---------------- TCAS only sells and installs what they put in their own vehicles, and I understand why. This Stinger head unit has my 2016 4Runner feeling more like a 2026. Everything works and integrates well, and the sound quality is incredible. ---------------- COST ---------------- $100/hr. Don't let this scare you. Whenever I stopped in for surprise visits over the days they had my 4Runner, there were almost always two or all three working on it at the same time. ---------------- WORK ETHIC ---------------- Find a chair in their shop. I triple dog dare you. When these guys are on the task, they're working and working hard. ---------------- WORK WARRANTY ---------------- Unfortunately for me, the dash cam rear view mirror main unit and one camera were faulty. The manufacturer sent me a replacement and TCAS worked 5 hours at no cost to me on a Saturday to get me fixed up.

I'll see what they are all about. How many miles away from me though, I went ahead called. I spoke to the owner of the establishment and with his knowledge on speakers, amps, and whatever was needed, I decided to make an appointment with him. At my appointment, from the outside of the shop, it looks like a hole in the wall shop, but when you step foot inside, it was like the Taj Mahal!! The lobby and what was displayed was pretty awesome, and very organized. Sohail gave me a quote that sounded very reasonable to install the speakers to my vehicle, but I had just recently purchased another vehicle that needed a dash cam installed. Instead of getting speakers for the vehicle I originally wanted done, I got the installation for my dash cam instead, and they were pretty professional and on point on how they did the installation. Very clean and very impressive. I've been in many car stereo shops before, but never like this just for the fact that the owner and his brother know what they're talking about and what's good.. no, GREAT for your vehicle! We have yet to go to them for auto needs, but we will be their customers for that in the future! Here's a very authentic review for Tint World off Burnet. Mind you, I dealt directly with the owner…read moreNadeem. I had previously went to another store to see if the work I wanted done on my Tundra was possible. After finding out a few unrelated stores couldn't do the work I came across Tint World. I went through the same process of coming by with my truck and explaining what I wanted done to make sure it was possible. I met Nadeem and told him I wanted star lights and ambient lighting throughout. He looked at my truck and assured me it could be done and that it would take "two days." He quoted me $2200 and I agreed that was a fare price and I'd come back after the weekend to leave him the vehicle. I dropped my truck off on Monday morning. I reached out towards the end of the business day for an update and had no response. The following day Tuesday Nadeem told me it may take an extra day and that they were working through some issues. I told him that was fine and to just keep me informed. At the end of Tuesday Nadeem had messaged me and apologized that he didn't realize the material on the moon roof which is about 80% of the headliner space with these panoramic moon roofs wasn't possible to achieve the starlight feature. He said he added them on the perimeter. This was done before asking for approval after he knew what I wanted at the beginning. He told me to rush over that evening because the truck was now complete. I hurried over from Round Rock only to find a numerous amount of concerns. This was far from a "white glove experience." The headliner fabric had obvious tears that needed to be addressed, a number of stars not completely penetrated, the shooting star feature which he sold me on was non existent. He later admitted they installed it incorrectly for that to work. The lights were functional through Bluetooth but the music feature for the lights did not work. The ambient lighting wasn't symmetrical in the front of the vehicle and was cut short and uneven. It was also Bluetooth functioned. When the ambient lighting music feature was used it caused my music to cut in and out on the stereo. Nadeem explained after the fact that both the star light Bluetooth and ambient light Bluetooth would cause music cut out because it can't work simultaneously with musics Bluetooth. Wow. This would have been great to be updated on before installation. I cannot use these features I've now paid for simultaneously with my music. Multiple door pieces and the trim over the odometer were missing stock clips to keep them tight and connected. He had an employee who also works for Toyota "come up" with those pieces to later reattach my vehicle. I explained to Nadeem how this experience felt and he just blankly stared at me with little to no response. He accepted fault and offered me $100 dollars off. At checkout the price went from 2200 to 2500 because he forgot to mention taxes. I told him in the future when quoting a customer he should give them the "out of door" price because taxes on 2200 is game changing. He didn't have anything to say. As I was leaving he offered a window tint. I told him my windows were already tinted and he told me he could match the back windows with the front. I agreed. When I got home I noticed the ambient lighting on the doors doesn't automatically turn off with the car. They stay on in the front and turn off in the back. I called Nadeem and he told me the doors hold reserve power and that I would have to manually turn them off each time when I turn my car off. Nadeem had one of his employees call me to come back in after taking my car back to fix some of the issues. He wasn't there when I arrived to make sure things were fixed. My headliner lights and visor lights were no longer working after the new installation of ambient lights. My music still skipped and wouldn't play from the starlight app, and Nadeem wouldn't respond to my messages. His employee kept saying Nadeem is the only one. He clearly ran away from providing any type of customer care. I was shown text messages that nothing further would be fixed and that I'm no longer welcome for service. Nadeem cuts corners and doesn't take responsibility for his mistakes. I have the texts to prove it. I warn anybody who has any plans to service their vehicle here. At this point with the price I paid I was completely frustrated. He told me he would give me my money back but to never step foot in his store. I felt like this response was completely unnecessary. I don't need my money back I just want the things I paid for to work and meet expectation. I don't usually write reviews but I felt this was necessary. I made the mistake of adding after market features to my tundra with less than 1000 miles. Shame on me. However, as a business it's upsetting to know owners don't go above and beyond to make things right.

It was easy to make the appointment to have the Jeep towed in and they got back to me by the end of the day with the diagnostic. My brake line had blown out and they were going to replace it. The next day they called to tell me there were no brake lines available for my Jeep anywhere with MOPAR, or any other manufacturer. People in my situation are all waiting months for these things on back order. Most shops would have probably told me to come tow this Jeep out of their way until a brake line was available. Not Juke! They thought outside the box and let me know a hydraulic shop they work with could build the part for me, and it would only be $80 more! Perfect! Even though they had to run around town with these brake lines, and rely on another shop to hunt down parts and fabricate custom brake lines for me, they had my Jeep back to me after just 6 business days! The other great thing is Miguel kept me updated the whole time and I never had to worry about if my vehicle was being taken care of. The people at Juke actually care about their customers and I recommend them to everyone I know.

She said she's only doing house calls and the soonest she was available is Wed Apr 1st (today). I really needed it done by Monday but reluctantly I agreed to wait for Wed so her team could come to my home and knock it out. I gave her my full address, city state and zip on Friday. I spoke to her Monday and Tuesday this week to re-confirm address, pricing and details of what was to be tinted. Lo and behold she waits until one hour before her team is supposed to show up at my house today to tell me oh by the way she made a mistake and it's going to be $600 for me instead of $500. She is blaming it on the fact she didnt know our home was so far. She had opportunities to punch our address is on Friday, again on Monday and again on Tuesday but she claims she never did until one hour before arrival and now I've wasted 2-3 days of time when I could have gotten this job done elsewhere Monday morning or Friday afternoon last week. Horrible business practices this place has and I will never recommend anyone to them.

This guy that he sent had to come back because break line and components came off next day while driving. I have pics and texts to prove. My GM 6.2 V8 come to find out common problem for that motor lifters went out so I went to him for the engine replacement. His price quoted was pretty good so I gave him a shot. My car was not even drivable this whole time (we had to wait on engine and things for months) yet I get a call the day he test drives it for the first time and he tells me I need new steering column. The car did not go in for steering issues. It was completely fine. He blames it on wear and tire from my lift and big tires. I call the people who did my lift and I called covert Cadillac certified mechanics and gave the history of car and lift and all and they called BS. My fault for not driving to Frank's place to see for myself. So I pick it up after engine replacement and steering column replacement. I get not but a mile down road from his shop and no acceleration and engine is just revving up loud . I coast off the road to luckily a gas station right there. What looks like oil and grease is splattered all over undercarriage and side and back windows. I have pics of all this. Transmission line came off. I won't give any more specific on this because I'm in process of filing the lawsuit and taking him to court. So He has a guy come meet me, I took video of his mechanics actions and what he did and Frank telling him on the phone I'm good to go, needless to say he screwed up. I get home and next day the car does it again right as I drive out of my home. I call Frank to get it towed back to his shop which is about 45 min to an hour from Lakeway. Frank gets car back, now he tells me I need new transmission. After transmission I go back to car to pickup and I go to open my door and there was mechanic grease all over headliner and seats, spilled oil on my rubber mats, bird shit all over the outside and dust and pollen caked the interior. He left windows cracked. I took pics of everything as proof. He decides to offer me a detail, so he sends me down the road. He paid for it yet I waited 3 hours. What I'm paid for my time in work you could say was a bigger loss. The fact alone my car was in that condition when he called to tell me it was ready is reason alone you shouldn't use him. I've included pics with this post. I could go on with several other smaller things I asked him to do while he had my car for engine replacement and transmission repair that I needed done. He never fixed them. I again have proof where he acknowledges he forgot so now I have to reschedule to have him finish the job. I also recorded most of our phone conversations that prove he apologizes for messing up. It came to the point where I was recording the convos because prior to me doing that it was just word salad on his part and I knew it this point I needed to document for the court. You would be amazed how many texts I have where I have had to constantly follow up and check on him after he would give me a supposed timeline or update with a promise he would keep me updated. I'm convinced all these reviews on here that are high stars aren't legit whatsoever. I have meticulously documented everything with pics, texts and phone conversations. If you're smart and reading this don't give him your business no matter how well quoted he may be . He may try to defend himself with a reply like some others he's done to on here. I've got it all though m, the truth. I was always extremely nice in all my texts to him, I was at the mercy of his screw ups and didn't want to be a jerk. No matter what when your rude or a jerk you run the risk to be even more screwed over so I chose to take high road and he knows it. I've verified and shown all my proof to several different master General Motors Master technicians and they all came back with resounding response that Frank was at fault. So now it will be in the courts hands and I will update this once it's over. For anyone that would like to know more you can contact me. I've got all you would need to run as fast as you can from this mechanic. I've even documented some new mechanics that showed me what things he did that they couldn't believe from when he did the engine replacement. His shop spliced so many wires and I took video the moment the mechanics found these issues and they talk on camera about it. I've asked Frank over the last several weeks and really last 6 months to send me an itemized list of repairs like a receipt. His reply was he texted me the cost every time he had to charge me for something. Last thing, he never once showed up on time for any of the jobs that he did. I have proof of his reasons for being late and apologies for every one of them. What kind of professional does that. All the more reason to believe these reviews are fake

I visited Custom Sounds & Tint on Research to have my dashcam installed, and while the end result was serviceable, the experience left a lot to be desired, especially in terms of pricing and attention to detail. Pricing Concerns: I was initially quoted around $185 for the installation of my two-channel dashcam. However, once I arrived, the price jumped to over $230, citing tax and a mandatory $20 parts charge--even though I brought all the necessary parts myself. The sudden additional charges felt unnecessary and poorly communicated upfront. The Installation: On the positive side, they hid all the wires well, and at first glance, the rear camera installation seemed solid. However, it wasn't long before the rear camera fell down, and I discovered they had used up all the included adhesive stickers without informing me. This left me having to purchase replacement stickers to reattach the camera--a frustrating oversight. The front camera wiring was another disappointment. While functional, the wire routing wasn't flush against the rearview mirror plate on the windshield, leaving an untidy finish that could have easily been avoided with a bit more care. The 3rd Channel Camera: I opted not to have them install the third, interior-facing camera since they would've charged extra. It was easy enough for me to install myself, though I had to purchase additional adhesive mounts to get it done properly--another expense that could have been avoided with better planning on their part. Final Thoughts: For the price, they did an okay job--nothing exceptional, and certainly not flawless. While the wiring works, the lack of attention to detail and hidden costs made the experience less than ideal. If you're okay with handling follow-up adjustments yourself, this place might be worth considering for the convenience. However, if you expect precision and transparency, you might want to explore other options. read more

Too much to tell but very un satisfied... Would highly not recommend. Don't feel like giving custom sounds the time to explain why my experience was rated so low. Their corporate offices as well as store locations all reflect on each other. No use going to them or directing your time to their establishment seeing that they will not give customer service to all equally. Very poor managed corporation and am sad to say I spent any money with them. There are many more stereo and tint installers around San Antonio that you would be much better off going to. If reviews from others help me to decide on where I would like to spend my money and time then to the ones whom read this please take it into consideration when making a decision for yourself. Disappointed at the highest of levels. Learned from my mistake and can only hope others do not make the same one as I did. read more

I went here to get tint on my window a while back........I know what you might be thinking: hmmm, why would she go to custom sounds for tint instead of Mothers Window Tint.......and I would TOTALLY agree with you!!!! First of all, when I went to pick up my car the guy wanted to argue with me when I kept pointing out all these places that they messed up on....I even had to go back the next day for them to do a "quick" fix because I got some major bubbles on my windows.....yea ok.... Well granted its been a little over a year..... the tint on the back window is completely coming off at the top, luckily they gave me a 3 year warranty if anything was to happen, now I just need to find a DIFFERENT Custom Sounds to fix it because I will definitely never go here again. A friend recommended Custom Sounds on Research when I was looking for new speakers and a new navigation system for an 05 Porsche 911. He told me to ask for a guy named Daniel and said he would take care of me. My friend was spot on. Daniel had great product knowledge and provided first class service. Last summer (2025) I brought in my Shelby GT350 after buying it used. The previous owner had cut big holes in the doors for aftermarket speakers. On a Shelby. I was pissed. I wanted factory-looking enclosures, clean professional wiring throughout, and while they were in there, I added a single 12" sealed Arc Audio subwoofer in the trunk. Michael was great to work with. He's clearly a JL Audio fan but didn't hesitate when I wanted the higher-end Arc sub. He ordered exactly what I wanted, built a super clean box that looks completely natural in the trunk, and installed a JL amp with a convenient power control knob right below the steering wheel. The turnaround time was very fast too -- I had the car back quicker than I expected. The attention to detail and quality of the work was impressive. I'm actually going back soon to have him install a new head unit in my 2012 Honda Civic, and I have full confidence it'll turn out right. If you want someone who actually listens, does clean work, and doesn't jerk you around, go see Michael at Elusive Audio. Solid shop.

I love how dark it looks from the outside while remaining incredibly clear to see out of from the inside. We went with 5% on the rear windows, 30% on the front driver and passenger windows, and 70% on the windshield with a brow. The installation is flawless. The team was fantastic to work with and they provided me with a quote to come back later for the panoramic moonroof, and even took the time to write up quotes for removing and re-tinting my 2023 Tundra, plus a quote for my daughter's vehicle. I also noticed they carry a great selection of other aftermarket parts, like dash cams and automated running boards. If you are looking for high-quality tint and a team that provides excellent service, I highly recommend them! They are very professional and not pushy at all with their sales. One keen factor I picked up on is how fast their quotes are with automation. They able to send to you to review and approve. They do offer military discount upon request and proper ID.

Subwoofer & amp - install could've been cleaner BUT sounds amazing so I'm satisfied. Solid prices and if something needs to be ordered, the TAT is reasonable. Clean in the inside. Customer service is always great. I'm unsure if there's WiFi BUT I was still able to work because there's service in the shop so I connected my computer to hotspot and did my thing. Jackie kept me informed throughout the whole process, and they finished earlier than expected! I was actually so impressed with her communication and Calibers workmanship I brought my son's car in to have it fixed out of pocket. Mike wrote my estimate and was amazing to work with, the service man who fixed my car was equally awesome! While Brittany at the front was pleasant upon arrival that quickly changed! When I picked up my vehicle I was told that there was a zero dollar balance and they had already been paid by the insurance. Fast forward to today, almost two months after picking up my vehicle and I get a VERY aggressive voicemail from Brittany at their front desk saying that my invoice isn't paid and if I don't call and pay it she will have to turn my file into Williamson County. Again this is the first time I've heard from them in two months!!! When I called back and talked to Mike (who is awesome) he explained to me that the problem was on their accounting side and funds had been put towards my account that weren't meant for my vehicle! He asked me to look in to it on my end and he would do the same! We got it figured out and cleared up in a civil non threatening manor! I would recommend their work just not the receptionist! She is aggressive, threatening, condescending and in no capacity belongs in customer service as the face of a company!!
