For example, she noticed that my bustle would look much much better if it came in from both sides (to form a little bow like area). Mrs Lam also moved the location of the bustles higher so that the length of the dress could sit lower when bustled, and could remain long without needing to be shortened; she later added two little bows to make the bustle easier to pull back and hide. In the front, Mrs Lam made the length perfect, so that it remained long, but I could move around freely. Every time someone saw me in the dress they would say, "WOW!" I felt in very good hands with Mrs Lam and that she contributed greatly to making my wedding experience aesthetically pleasing and physically comfortable. I recommend Mrs Lam unreservedly and am so grateful for her beautiful work!

I bought my tuxedo for my wedding at a fancy-pants made to order website based out of NYC. They had my measurements, and all was set for the perfect tux. Well, when it finally arrived, it looked like someone had painted it on to my body. I could hardly breathe, let alone anticipate moving around or enjoying myself. Thankfully I came across Chris' website- "Stephen The Tailor". I quickly booked an appointment. Chris was kind, funny, and welcoming to me and my (now) wife. He put us both at ease, helping navigate all that needed to happen. Neither one of us imagined that the suit that was delivered would be salvaged. Chris, must have taken every stitch out of this three piece to reconstruct the perfect tuxedo for me. I still cannot identify what he retooled. Easily the mark of a true craftsman and expert tailor. The photos speak for themselves. It was the perfect outfit for the perfect day. The dry cleaning alone was flawless (my wife was wishing that's where she took her dress prior to our wedding)! Needless to say, I'm all in with this shop. They get the good dry cleaning, and Chris is hired to make all of my future suits! That's right, he's a bespoke suit maker, too. If only I had come to him first... he could have easily crafted this outfit- Jacket, shirt, vest... all of it. Save yourself the headache. Go see Chris. He's the only person I will be seeing moving forward! Thank you Chris!! You're a true hero to us both!!

Their alterations are terrible & super off - I had to go back a couple of times because they did not stick to the original measurements. So yeah, you pay a lot of money for custom suit that doesn't even fit well. Their old stylist basically created the whole suit for me - I only picked the suit color. Turns out a few days before my wedding, I found out that their inside linings basically made my whole suit and pants see through! Yes, you can see the boxer and everything... When I asked online customer service to do alterations, they said no because it passed the 30 days warranty. So if you want to pay a lot of money for ill-fitted & see-through suits, do pay them a visit!
If you like getting f*cked over, this is the place for you…read more Otherwise, avoid this place. There are plenty of other GOOD local options for made-to-measure men's clothing in this price range. Or if you're adventurous and want to give them a try anyway, then start with a small order, like I did. I first placed an order for one (1) shirt, and it took three tries--over about one (1) YEAR--before I had a somewhat reasonable fitting m2m shirt. I then placed a slightly larger order for three (3) shirts, with further adjustments over my prior order--so that these three (3) shirts would fit properly (ha!). Instead, hilarity ensued over many, many iterations of reworks. Luckily the four (4) total shirts that I ordered--and have since donated to charity--didn't cost too much. Had I placed a larger order, I would have been more upset. Instead, I got a lesson that if you don't want this company to bend you over and have their way with you, it's best to not give them money in the first place--or start with small orders so you know into what mess you're getting. Long story short: don't buy from these shysters, but if you really have an itch to get f*cked over, start with purchasing one (1) made-to-measure shirt--so you know what kind of cheap merchandise and hellish customer service you'll get AFTER they get your payment.

I recently had an exceedingly disappointing experience with this tailor. Upon discovering the…read morestitching on the arm sleeve of my suit jacket coming undone, which caused a noticeable crease, I brought it in for repair. Additionally, the stitching at the cuff where the buttons are was also unraveling. Given the stellar reviews, I believed I was entrusting my jacket to a professional of high repute, rather than a standard dry cleaner tailor. When I visited his shop to highlight the issues, the owner/tailor mentioned that the jacket was asymmetrical around the torso, which was evident upon inspection. He quoted $200 for the repairs, which I considered steep but somewhat justifiable for his supposed "expertise." However, upon returning to collect my jacket a week later, I was met with immediate disappointment. The crease in the arm sleeve remained, and the cuff was still undone. When I pointed this out, he defensively claimed that he had only worked on the torso's symmetry, as indicated on the receipt. He demanded an additional $100 to fix the sleeve, despite initially agreeing to address all the issues. His broken English and evasive explanations made the situation even more frustrating. It became clear to me that this tailor intended to exploit the situation, attempting to extract as much money from me as possible. Despite my attempts to have him honor our original agreement, he insisted on additional charges. Frustrated and feeling deceived, I paid the $200 but left deeply unsatisfied. This tailor is not a man of his word. His underhanded tactics and lack of integrity are appalling. I strongly urge you to seek your alteration needs elsewhere and avoid falling victim to his deceitful practices. I will attach a copy of my receipt to corroborate my account, clearly showing that he circled "Armhole: Enlarge," which means he did work on the armhole but now claims it would need to be redone and repositioned to remove the crease. Additionally, and once more, there was an absolutely egregious crease in the sleeve for him to ignore and up-charge me.

I stumbled across this shop after almost two years of working right by it and never noticing it…read morebefore, as it's in an apartment building with only a small sign indicating that there's a consignment shop inside. The store is really small, but I was really excited upon walking in, as the racks were really well stacked-they manage to cram lots of clothes, shoes, purses and accessories into that small space. I'm used to consignment shops in DC being fairly upscale though, and so I was surprised to see lots of mid-range labels-Jones New York and Anne Klein and the like. What shocked me most was when I spotted a pair of shoes which I recognized immediately as being from Payless, as I happen to own the exact same pair. The people working there must not be familiar with the label, as the shoes were marked at $25, whereas I bought them new for $18.99. In fact, I got the impression that as a whole, they weren't very knowledgeable about labels, as lots of inexpensive brands seemed to be overpriced. There were bargains to be had though, as some things seemed to be very under-priced. A $15 Zara skirt comes to mind (sadly a couple sizes too small for me though), as does a cashmere Sacs cardigan, which would have been a bargain were it not for the hideous bright pink color. Like many consignment shops, you could potentially find some great deals here if you have a lot of time and patience and have a basic idea of how much various labels are worth. Additionally, it could be a great place to consign if you have a lot of stuff that doesn't quite meet the standards of Secondi or some of the other more upscale consignment stores in the area, but want to try to make a few bucks rather than just donating it to Goodwill.
