Absolutely beautiful! Shopkeeper Danny invited me in and gave me a tour, explained the mission, and how all the items are sourced from local people, the youngest designer being only 14 years old! The price point is higher than I can typically afford, but I was able to get a cool windbreaker, $75, that I'll gift to the coolest teen I know. They'll love it.

Love finding a regional unique locally owned boutique brand with cool designs and strong culture. Wish them much ongoing success.

If you've ever visited Martha's Vineyard, you're probably familiar with this brand. Upon entry,…read moreyou're greeted by a team member prepared to share the story of its humble beginnings, Captain Bob Douglas, and the Black Dog sailors. This General store has a nice collection of comfortable casual clothing and accessories. You can feel the high quality and the clothes are very reasonably priced. Apparel is more classically styled so it never gets outdated. Most of the items seem to fall into 2 fit categories. "Roomy" which is slightly oversized and "Classic" which fits more naturally. However, I prefer the "Fashion" fit which isn't tight but more aligned with my natural curves. Aside from clothes, they have specially designed accessories and stuff for your furry friend. Staying true to its roots, philanthropy is always is full swing. This general store partners with local animal shelters to host dog adoptions events. Adoptable dogs find a home and new owners learn how to properly care for their new pet.

If you like the Black Dog at Martha's Vineyard, you will like this store too. Similar yet…read moredifferent. It's new so the merchandise is new and fresh, and often funny. It's Black Dog so you get what you expect. I recommend parking in the middle garage so you can walk all over the National Harbor area. It's a very nice experience; different from Alexandria.

One of my good friends from high school lives in Old Town and whenever I'm in DC we get together…read more(though it doesn't always work out with our schedules). I love stopping in at 3 Sisters (you guessed it, actually owned by three sisters). It's a two-level boutique of fashion for women that ranges from accessories to formal wear and everyday wear. The items they curate are stylish, timeless, and lovely. They've got something for everyone. The prices are incredibly affordable. I mean it's a boutique with a luxury feel in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the country and you can walk out paying the same prices you would at a big box place like TJ Maxx. The difference is that at 3 Sisters you're getting personalized service and higher quality items while supporting a local, women-owned business. Love, love, love.

Such a cute store with really great staple pieces. I noticed there seem to be a theme for colors…read moreand it was a lot of neutrals and browns and blacks and creams. If you're looking to add a couple staples to your wardrobe, but this would be a cute place to stop at if you happen to be in the area. The pricing was actually pretty reasonable. The were some items that were a little bit higher than I would have normally spent if I was purchasing anything. I also noticed their sizes did not really go past extra large. There may have been a stray XXL, but I don't really recall. So I'm not sure it's plus size friendly in the long run. When we walked in, we were not really greeted and nobody really helped us the entire time we were in the store walking around. It did not give me warm fuzzies.
