Rachelle coordinated the refinishing of our pool & spa, the replacement of the tile, and the refinishing of our pool deck and patio. Her estimate was perfect and there were no surprises. She kept us advised along the process. The crews were punctual, courteous, and performed their work professionally. Now the pool and spa sparkles in the sunlight and looks beautiful. read more

The absolute worst pool service I have ever had. I hired them and my pool got greener and greener every week until it was like a swamp. we couldn't use our pool all summer. the pool finally had to be drained and acid washed. they said that it was because of my water. my water source has never changed, city water. anyhow, they said that they would take care of it (the draining and acid wash). and then they charged me 1200. for the service to fix what they caused. I refused to pay for it and they withdrew the money from my account without authorization. I am currently working with my bank filing a fraud claim. Stay away from this company!!! read more

Custom Pool & Spa Mechanics - Two months into their service. - Hot Tub & Pool Near Me - Stuart, Florida

1 is too much. I had a billing dispute over less than a couple of hundred dollars after years of mediocre service. I only realized after I changed service provider how bad they are. I experienced a series of interactions with them that leads me to suggest you run away, don't walk. 1. They hit my debit card without authorization for service not yet provided. ( BofA reversed it) 2. I told them I would drop a check by for what I felt I owed them. I never heard from them. Keep in mind the difference was well under $200 3. Without any communication or notice to owner they put a contractor lien on my house. This I believe is not allowed for a service provider. I am glad to be done with them and am really glad I learned for such a low price. read more

Custom Pools resurfaced our pool and paved the pool deck and front/rear porch areas. Larry provided competitive pricing, and provided outstanding product and workmanship. They did everything they said they'd do, and did it when they said they would do it! The staff on site and in the office were responsive and a pleasure to work with. We couldn't be more excited about our pool area. read more

First the positive. The demotion of my pool tile and preparation for the installation of new tile, and re-plastering of the pool was completed on schedule and the result was very positive. The workers were courteous and cleanup was good. Then, a month after installation, a bright white spot the size of a quarter appeared in the shallow end of the pool. It took several calls to get any response. Finally one of the their mechanics came out to investigate. His response was that he had no idea what it was. Several more calls to CPASM. Their response "pour muriatic acid down a pipe on the spot". Why am I supposed to try to fix their work? No change. Several more calls. In early January, after 4 months, I was told that they were sending out their material supplier to look at the pool and report what "my" options were, clearly making the point it's my problem. The supplier's report, dated in late January, states that the white spot is a foreign particle embedded in the plaster during installation. They also reported a larger area of scaling and that the water chemistry was way off balance. The chemistry was off because eight to ten gallons of muriatic was added to the pool by their technician a week before, who told to not adjust the chemistry in any way. CPASM's solution to the problem is for me to pay $900 to acid wash the pool to remove scale and fix their flaw in workmanship (i.e., the white spot). Their position is that I am responsible for pool chemistry after installation. I can live with some minor scaling; but I do not want to acid wash the entire pool with the hope of adjusting a slight color imbalance. I only expect them to repair the flaw caused by their workmanship. It is clear from my phone calls and correspondence that CPASM never had any intention of repairing their work during the warranty period during which they would be liable for the cost. I can only suggest that if you are considering a re-plaster project for your pool, that you carefully evaluate the contractor's service record after the work is completed and during the warranty period. read more

I could not be happier with the professionalism and work executed by Custom Pool & Spa. They said what they would do and they did what they said. They resurface, retiled and upgraded pool and it came out better than I expected. I was extremely appreciative of the support from their office staff on helping select the right tiles and surface and being extremely patient with us. read more

1 star review for the pool cleaning guy complaing to me that he has to clean my spa because he usually does pools, not spas. He doesnt show up one week, and the next week when he comes is upset that the spa is dirty and tells me that "spas are a pain for him, and they're really not worth his time or money". So I'm paying $100 a month for a pool guy to sometimes show and sometimes not, and on the days he does show up, he complains about having to clean my spa. Management didn't really seem very apologetic about the situation when I called, they just said it would be dealt with. Careful with this company guys, they're not holding their cleaning techs accountable for their horrible service. read more

This is a longer review than I normally give, but well worth reading, if you are considering this company. Custom Pools and Spa Mechanics resurfaced our pool at the end of 2019. At that time there were a few problems. They put white grout in the NEW tiles rather than the dark blue I had requested in writing. It was a good thing it was written down, because they insinuated that I made the mistake and it was better to use the white ..... Wow! They redid the grout, but it has never looked pristine as it should. They were also to put one very small star fish on the steps, but missed doing that also. They scraped out the surface to insert it, so now there is a rough indentation around it on the step. The key here is ...........They never even apologized for any of the mistakes they made. Brenda(front desk) acted like I was the biggest pain she ever met, no matter how nice I was. I have worked with the public for 39 years and trust me, this is not you treat a customer. Rude, rushed and with an attitude. Then there was the LACK OF MAINTENANCE..... We were in the middle of remodeling our parents home to sell and it sold before we were even done, plus we sold our business, so we were too busy to think about finding a new company to take care of the salt water pool. We travel a lot, plus are gone for months, so I figured different crew, I'd give it a try. BIG MISTAKE! They over book their guys and everyone is in a rush. They replaced a board and a few other parts, but could never get the cleaner to clean the full length of the pool and never took the time to clean the filters, even after we requested it. He was on the run each time he was there. (We have cameras), 5 minutes most times. When my husband explained what he thought was wrong with the pressure,(the plumbing) they ignored him. I think we knew a little about it plumbing, as we build shopping centers. I had two other companies come out a day or so before I cancelled Custom Pools. Both gave me the same opinion hours after Custom Pool had "preformed pool service". Below is a small portion of their reports "Need a new filter cartridge, Black residue in pleats won't clean out. Plumbing is horrible. The flow is restricted because of spa jet pump is plumbed into the & return line. They need to be plumbed separately. Valves all need replaced. They are the VERY old style that they don't sell anymore. There's one that is unused and can be removed. Once Valves and plumbing is replaced, we can evaluate pumps and motors." I had called weeks before all of this and ask that a manager or the owner call me asap please. Nothing! But, when I cancelled Custom Pool and Spa, I received the first ever answer by email. No apology, just more accusations of what I didn't do. According to Brenda and the owner, we didn't want to fix any of the problems that needed repairs on the plumbing. We spent nine thousand dollars on the pool plus the landscaping, but wouldn't spend a few hundred on plumbing to make it work! Who are they trying to convince? I told them I wouldn't even respond to their email full of lies but they could always read my reviews. Even I have my limits with rude people. My suggestion is that there are a lot go good companies out there that actually care about keeping good customers. This is not one of those companies. read more

Very costly mistake using Custom Pool & Spa Mechanics. Research them the reviews speak for themselves.

I got 3 estimates and they were the least expensive. Everything seemed fine until they put the wrong tile on my pool (Saturday, February 8th, 2019). Rachel was the person I dealt with, so after I complained, she called me back (Monday, February 10th). She told me that the tile on the pool is the tile I picked. That's funny, as she gave me the tile I picked and I was staring at it in my dining room. Apparently, a mistake was made with the price of the tile, which subsequently led to the error. I was then forced to pay an up-charge and share the cost of replacing the tile. I asked to speak with the owner, Larry, and he basically told me that his people don't make mistakes, and that I must've switched the pricing sticker around (in so many words). In a roundabout way he implied I was either a liar or a thief. He proceeded to ask me if I just wanted free tile. I was insulted by a man I had never met, and I must say it did rub me the wrong way. The pool is now done, and they did do a decent job (although they never gave me information on post renovation pool care do's and don'ts). I am a veteran with a college degree, not a scam artist. Furthermore, I owned a successful construction business for over 10 years before moving to Florida. In my opinion, an honest mistake was made by a representative of Custom Pool and Spa Mechanics, and instead of addressing the mistake and trying to find a solution, the customer was insulted and forced to pay for the representatives mistake. That being said, I was inclined to write this negative review. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company. Andy Lamora, Port St Lucie. read more

I should have known that I was going to have problems with their service, when I was given a bill for a light at was never installed. Then I noticed that my pool had not been cleaned for a week. Once the second week came around and no one cleaned. I called the office. I was asked if my pool was green and treated like an idiot. They ignore me. The third week came no service. I was then told that they have trackers on all cars and the pool cleaner was at my house for 20 minutes. Now I have cameras and I work from home so I checked and no pool cleaning. I demanded money back at which point they sent the manager out to clean. Then another week when by no cleaning. I called the office told the staff that no one had come out. She gave the the line again about the cars having tracking and he was at my house for 20 minutes. My response was then to ask "how come my pool looks like shit". The person in the office then started to scream at me about not cussing her. I don't know what this company's problem is but they are terrible. They don't do the work and then you get treated horribly, all the while charging top dollar. read more

This pool company is great to say the least. From Larry with the quote to Brenda in the office and Ken onsite. They were always courteous and the job was done on-time and the work was beautifully done. It was a pool resurfacing and it looks like a brand new pool. My parents had used them and were very happy and we are so glad we went with them. You cannot go wrong! Definitely a five star company. read more
