I have been using Custom Ink for the past 6 years. Each year, I have numerous shirt orders that have to be done, often on a tight schedule. They have absolutely never failed me, even when we have a schedule failure on our end. They're incredibly accommodating, extremely professional and they have over the top excellent customer service. I love this company, and I trust them with my shirt orders. My most recent order was for a very custom style that required neon ink and a double-sided shirt. I spoke directly with one of their agents about it so I wouldn't screw it up, and she made ordering the shirts super easy. What seemed like a tough task was made simple by Custom Ink. Y'all are my go-to. Thanks for always being fantastic. read more

I used to be a major fan on CustomInk. That was before they collected $1000 worth of orders on their online page only to reject my design weeks later. As a result, I have to personally contact every customer and explain, then arrange for them to reorder the same thing from another vendor. It was a mess and given how much business we'd given them in the past, you'd think they would have been more helpful. So if you need CustomInk for one or two shirts, great. Go for it. But if you want to trust them with a group order, forget it. Go somewhere else. read more

I ordered from Custom Ink for the first time, Never Again!!! Customer Service Team was very nice, but the tank tops I designed with a CSR the screen print had to be done over 2x the second time is not much better... The communication stop as soon I had a problem with them..... I could give them allot of business that won't be happening!!!! I read the reviews can't believe the service that I got as a new customer. read more

I had ordered a shirt that I custom designed and had printed by them. They printed it and shipped it to me no problem... 3 months later I tried to reorder the EXACT SAME ORDER and they refused to print it for me, stating that it violated some policy of their's? THEN WHY HAD CUSTOM stINK's FULLFILLED MY ORDER THE FIRST TIME? LAME! I will NEVER AGAIN order from them. And I posted my review here because despite the fact that they say their website feedback is UNCENSORED, I don't believe them! read more

My 12 year old daughter recently placed an order for four custom shirts for her team in a competition-- same basic design but different colored shirts-- I'm guessing one of the smallest orders they received that day. While the order was in production, she was contacted by the staff at CustomInk-- something about the design wasn't going to work given the colors she was using. Suggestions for a fix were offered by the service rep and the order continued. One of the shirts had to be shipped separately (I forget why, likely due to the issue described above)-- my daughter was informed of this so she wouldn't flip out when the package of only three shirts arrived. One of the shirts didn't come out all that great-- a color in the design was pretty much exactly the same as that particular shirt, so some lettering couldn't be seen. Bad choice of color by the customer or a printing error? Don't know, don't care. CustomInk responded quickly and rushed a replacement shirt out overnight in time for the competition. Small efforts, but all for a tiny little order. Really impressive Not only did CustomInk both anticipate AND respond to issues, but they treated their very young customer with great respect. Oh, and the shirts look great, too! I couldn't be happier with this company. read more

Custom Ink - Customized Merchandise Near Me - Tysons, Virginia

It pains me to write this review. For many years I received satisfactory service from Custom Ink. However, my most recent business, or rather, attempt at business, was wholly disappointing. We submitted original art which falls clearly within the guidelines of fair use (making a pun on a film title with an image that made the pun abundantly evident) and had even sought the advice of an attorney in advance, who assured us that we were compliant with fair use rules. Instead, we were asked to completely undo that art, to the point that it would lose all its intended meaning, for fear of a lawsuit. The company was more worried about the unlikelihood of a corporation raising a complaint about printing a small order of shirts, which could have been easily dismissed with demonstrable fair use, than with the needs and time of a repeat, paying customer. When we mentioned that we would take our business to a competitor, there was no attempt by the customer service team in trying to keep our business, either. It should be noted that the competitor gladly accommodated our business request. We used to believe that Custom Ink had a commitment to customer service but that is clearly not that case anymore. You are more concerned with We will be employing the services of competitors for future business. read more

The customer service building up to the receipt of the product seems stellar. I had a design ready. I uploaded the designs. Their system identified the colors of the design, I proceeded on with a $1K shirt order. I received an email that one of the colors identified was not necessary as it was white. The other colors (Maroon and Black) were fine. (Note again: their system identified the colors in the design and selected them upon upload. I did not. I only confirmed the colors.) Easy as 1-2-3. Now just a waiting game. In the meantime, impressed with their interface and friendly service, I planned on having ALL of our company's upcoming apparel needs served through custom ink. I predesigned at least 10 products I knew we would be needing for our company's 30th anniversary and things I knew our field personnel would love to purchase. But...neither here nor there anymore. The shirts arrived early. The boxes had the shirts organized by size and the design was correct, except for one thing.... the color was BRIGHT RED. Nothing close to maroon. So, I sent in an email inquiry trying to get feedback on what happened. Now, by trade, I am a photographer as well as a graphic designer. I KNOW COLOR MANAGEMENT. I don't need it explained to me in any way. However, that is the feedback I got. That a color our company has had printed on table and floor banners, T-Shirts, safety gear, custom table cloths, was actually RED and nothing close to maroon. My response: Your system picked the color up as maroon upon upload. Their response, in short: "I'm definitely sorry that your order didn't turn out as expected. We are happy to review any future designs before you place your next order." The thing is, it was reviewed... partially. My design WAS NOT the problem. If the rep assigned to me was keen enough to tell me that white was an unnecessary color because the shirt was already white, how did she SEE that the other color selection was MAROON, but disregard it and make the shirts bright red? To take a customer's money and disregard the actual order was nothing short of ignorant. So we have no choice but to move forward and use the shirts. We ordered ONE lone YXL size and it wasn't made so we have one kid with no shirt as we are out of adult sizes to compensate. I should preface my review with, this was a rushed job... kind of. I needed it within two weeks and paid the 10% extra for a rush job, even though it may not have been necessary. With that said, I suggest to anyone needing to use their service NOT to select rush service unless you acknowledge that the risk is there that something may go wrong and you won't have time to fix it. As for our company, we are finding a local company we can interact with in person to get things of this nature completed. read more

The website was the first selling point - easy to manage, cool that you could alter everything down to the color of the letter trim and see the changes instantaneously. However it was confusing (at first) trying to figure out how to switch the sweatshirt from back to front. I almost quit before I realized you could add something to the back. Also, I think it's ridiculous that additional color costs more for each item of text - at other companies, they only charge once for the color choice and then will add it to any other text or picture without additional charge. It ended up costing MUCH more per item this way! Shipping time, customer service, etc. was great. The only other concern I had was the quality of the material - upon delivery, I found it felt very harsh and thin. I order sweatshirts each year for my class.. we've been used to something softer and more comfortable from Image Market (www.imagemarket.com). Because IM offers package deals (cheaper the more you buy) and better quality of the material, I will most likely go with them for future business. read more

From the instant I contacted customer service with a question about my order immediately after placing it online, I said to my coworker, "Wow, I cannot wait to write an outstanding review for them." I ordered a few track jackets with a custom logo for a tour my company is producing, a week before Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast. The entire CustomInk team was very helpful and hands on -- texting me for image approval in case the email didn't go through, checking in on status of delivery due to the hurricane in NJ/NY, calling my cell to make sure that we'd still be able to use the jackets because the weather affected delivery. The whole experience made me feel like a truly valued customer, even though it was only my first time ordering from CustomInk. The quality of the product was great, and it arrived quickly in spite of the delays due to the natural disaster, but their incomparable customer service is what really sets them apart. Really can't say enough how wonderful my experience was with CustomInk; will recommend them VERY highly to anyone I know! read more

THIS is where you come to order T-shirts. Superb and stands by their product. Could not ask for more.

I'm impressed. REALLY impressed. After having a terrible experience with one of CustomInk's competitors, I decided to give them a try. I had a fairly large order (three shirt designs, with around 400 shirts total). CustomInk's staff (namely Jenny C.) took control of my order, kept in great contact and really went above and beyond to make sure my shirts got printed on top, at the highest quality and really kept up fantastic communication through the entire ordeal. Their site's easy to use, the quality of the shirts is fantastic and they have a greater selection of colors, choices and quality to fit any budget. Definitely a happy consumer. read more

I ordered shirts and sweatshirts for my business. Custom ink did a great job and the customer service was the best! They had to redo my design I had done so that it would show correctly on the shirts. They were always very informative and kept me up to date on my order. They had to change the design 3 times and did it with no complaints or extra charges. Quality products ( not the cheapest ) but worth the cost. I will use them again for all my company shirts from now on. read more

Don't count on your "guaranteed" delivery date. And when they don't hit your guaranteed delivery date, don't expect to get your products refunded even though you don't get to use them for it's intended purposes. Custom Ink GUARANTEED that my order would arrive by 12/21/2018. It wasn't delivered until 12/26/2018, which completely ruined my surprise of custom ordered Christmas shirts to wear for our family Christmas get together. I hadn't received a shipment confirmation as of 12/18/2018, so I reached out to customer support at Custom Ink, who reassured me there were no issues with my order and that it would arrive by the guaranteed delivery date of 12/21/2018. By 12/20/2018 I still hadn't received a shipment confirmation, so I called customer support, who then told me something had gotten screwed up with my order, but that they would complete the order that day and ship it to arrive next day by the guaranteed delivery date, 12/21/2018. As noted above, the delivery didn't arrive until 12/26/2018. To my detriment, I relied on Custom Ink's representations and "guarantees". I will never again do business with this unreliable company. read more

We've used CustomInk twice to print four different shirt designs (men's athletic t-shirt, womens athletic tank top, zip up hoodie, and pull-over hoodie). They stand out in multiple areas: Price: for the quality of item we received and the quantity we ordered, they were very competitive. Not the cheapest but far from the most costly. They have generous minimum orders and the more you order, the less you pay. Design Tools: Their online designer is easy to learn and use. We did all the major design ourselves with great control over placement, text, etc. When we finished, one of their designers helped us clean up the final product and get it ready for production. Printing & Quality: Our shirts are freakin' awesome. The fabric is still soft after repeated washing and is holding up great even when worn during hardcore workouts. The printing is clear, crisp, and right on point to our designs. Someone else mentioned it feeling like it was "painted on" but we didn't have that result on any of our four different shirt orders (all different material/designs). Customer Service: Everyone we've spoken with by phone or email has been great. Friendly, helpful, and quick at what we needed from them. I could not have asked for better customer service. To top it off: during one of our shirt runs we used their pre-purchase sign-up option to allow our gym members to pre-order hoodies. Two of the lists got confused, and CustomInk accidentally gave us 5 large shirts instead of 5 extra large. When they were made aware of the issue, we had replacements inside a week AND they gave us the extra shirts as a freebie for the error. We will continue to use CustomInk for our designs into perpetuity. read more

For designing shirts they are the easiest to use online. I have complete control over all aspects of design. I can even do a proof right online myself. But that is still just a digital proof and in reading it seems like some people lose sight of the fact that what is on their work screen is going to look different on a shirt. The other thing to realize is unless you're ordering a specific brand name you may get the custom ink branded shirt with their label permanently affixed. Sometimes that's a private label version of a recognized brands shirt, other times it may not be and you should ask beforehand if you're sensitive to the tag name. If you order for a small group like I am it's hard to beat the flexibility of designing your own shirt. The design and order process is the best around. That convenience does come at a cost as the prices can be significantly higher than other sites that may not afford the same flexibility but then again you may not need it. Quality of the silk screen is very good, a Hanes or Gildan shirt like the G5000 is the same here or anywhere else. If you're doing light on a dark shirt you may want to ask how many times they coat the shirt with ink. Overall best site around, infinite selection, responsive service and average or above average pricing. read more

This company is on the road to great success! We had an amazing experience with the company. Management truly cares about customer service and they were very prompt on responding to our e-mails until we approved the final product. In January we ordered 108 customized 16 oz. mixing glasses as wedding favors. They came out perfect and our guests loved them. We customized both sides with logos. We actually started using two of them daily at the house and they are so well made. They shipped quickly and well packaged for shipment. The price was reasonable for our order and we are very satisfied with our experience and overall purchase. read more

I've had a superb experience with CustomInk and I highly recommend this service. I wanted to print t-shirts for my company and got a reference from a close friend. The customer service department helped me to fix my mistake. It was such a personable experience that it felt like working with a local business. This place is complete joke!!! They "assign" you a rep who you will NEVER actually work with. Each time you contact them, you'll talk with someone different. Which would be fine, except that they'll all tell you something different than the person before. Truly AWFUL experience! Don't be fooled by their niceness. They have no idea what in the world they're doing and their people are extremely incompetent. You'll come to realize they recycle all their responses to you when it comes to expressing frustration and dissatisfaction. However, when it comes to getting actual information and solving problems, they'll all tell you something different. By the end you'll be left in a whirlwind of unanswered questions. read more

I removed my original review of this company. I did so because I was given a hard time by an acquaintance of a CustomInk associate who I named in my review. I'm glad I made the decision to remove the original review that singled her out; she should not have been singled out. She should not have been singled out because it's the entire company which is at fault. More on that in just a moment. After receiving responses to my complaint from many associates of the company (up to and including the owner) my issue still wasn't fixed. At least they got back to me. I have continued to let everyone I know (and many who I do not) about my poor experience with this company. They've done right by me in the past, truth be told. They haven't this time and they will never have the opportunity to ever again. If you read my reviews on here you will see that I am ten times more likely to shower praise for a good experience rather than express my dissatisfaction of a poor experience. But Yelp wouldn't be much of an effective resource at all if people only yelped about the good stuff. Anyhow, the details of my business with CustomInk are not particularly important. Message me if you'd like the full rundown though, please; I'll be happy to tell you all about it. I thought I'd just put down some words from a friend of mine who I've just found out had a similarly bad experience with this company. His words are better than mine and he succinctly identified the problem with CustomInk. "The lack of common sense in such business is beyond me. Just do the right thing and listen to reason - I get policy but if you hear a good point, one that doesn't compromise your values or margins or whatever, act accordingly and accept the money I am trying to give you for the service you supposedly provide." This is one of those such businesses. My advice is to save yourself a lot of time, aggravation, and grief and steer clear. You'll be doing yourself a favor. ******I realized I should add one very specific detail that will be important to anyone considering conducting business with this company. If you submit a design for a product and wish to purchase it, they will charge your card the full amount immediately. Once they have your money, they will then decide whether or not they will actually fill your order. If they decide that they won't, you'll just have to wait until they decide to refund your money. They ought to hold off on taking your money until they agree to perform the service that they just took your money for. That would be obviously be the proper way to conduct business. read more

Wow! I sent a note in to them asking for help on getting a custom T made with a short turn-around. Susan Chen, their T-shirt Ambassador, was right on it with a fabulous email that was filled with useful detail and really friendly too. In a commodity business like tee-shirt printing, one just does not expect to encounter true customer service. Custom Ink blows that paradigm out of the water. A week later I had a beautiful custom T! Run-do yourself a favor and never order from this company. I received poorly made T-shirts and sent them back with their approval four months ago and I still haven't received my $158.74refund. A birthday ruined by Custom Ink. Today (August 11, 2013) I received a disturbing phone call today from this company upholds 'service above all else' regarding to my T-Shirt design. The CustomInk Satisfaction Assurance Associate, Mary Beth Blake, gave me non-sense rubbish about copyright laws and intellectual property failing to understand that I, as Graphic Designer, am well aware of such laws and was just looking to get a single shirt printed for a Birthday present. She did not provide to me any solution to this dilemma, simply decided to wash her hands off the problem and move on. And this will be my biggest problem for the negative review I'm about to type up. Here's the contradiction to abiding by the dogma of pure design... In the Internet era (social media world) and Custom Ink having an online footprint, there cannot and will not ever be a way to guarantee that any design you receive from people is original material and "not borrowed" from a source without their consent. By that standard and upon analyzing Custom Ink's gallery of products I came to realize their assurance team is simply governed by the law of pop culture. "If I have seen it somewhere, then it's not okay". Though it begs the question, who are you people trying to protect? It seems to be this company is only concerned to preserve the money making machine without a clear definition of what copyright law protection truly is. Short of you demanding every design to be done by hand at your location (only way to prove intellectual property) then the rule is skewed and we go back to poor costumer service and even worse catalogue of products. Am I supposed to trust your company blindly for an order of 100 shirts? Since you start the dialogue with distrust then I, as costumer protected by laws as well, will distrust you can deliver the quality I expect. This was my case today when I was going to use a little birthday present to judge on the quality of the print so I could submit a bigger order for my organization. I rarely am one person to leave a negative review to a company, but Custom Ink is all lights and made-belief with no true understanding of the service they intend to provide people with. All would have been fine if the assurance person would have provided me with a solution instead of walking away like any other transparent, money driven company looking to hide behind quoting laws without understanding them. I say if you are a person thinking on having your shirts printed, look elsewhere and avoid this aggravation. Custom Ink will not treat your work with the artistic value it deserves. Best advice I can give, as designer, look for a local printer you can take your own files to and avoid the annoying passive aggressive talk from Mary Beth. read more

I used Custom Ink to make a shirt for my band. When I uploaded the image, I naturally made it as large as I could. Not showing up pixelated, I went ahead with it. A half-hour later, a very friendly employee emailed me back saying that it would show up a bit blurry. They made a sample image of how big they would print it without it being blurry. I would have thought they would have just went along with my choice. They were very helpful and friendly, explaining everything in simple terms without a single not of snobbiness. It doesn't matter if you're buying one shirt or a thousand, they really do treat you like a celebrity and won't stop until you're satisfied. I'd definitely buy from them again. read more

I ordered 50 t-shirts with front and back designs-- Amazing customer service experience! Big thanks to: Brian, Dana, Greg and Leticia!!

I like someones comment below. There is a reason they don't have Facebook Reviews enabled. All I wanted was to order Polo Style shirts for my business. My goal was to locate specific style as if I walked into Macys etc and picked up a shirt and then had it embroidered. I placed a "sample" order which was confusing. Paid over $50 for the samples and then later realize I can't send them back for refund so now I have useless samples. I was told a credit would be applied to a new order , however a new order would involve me spending $100s until I find the shirt that fit me right. My words of advice for CustomInk, offer a sizing option. Let us tell you what dimensions of the shirts we have, then you compare it what you have in inventory and then provide samples that can be refunded or even a partial refund. But the way its currently setup policy wise if you have no idea what style will fit you expect to lose $100s ordering samples. Isn't a "sample" an example of a shirt you would order? Now its money I have to throw out since I can't wear these. read more

DO NOT use Custom Ink if you're ordering online. It is not worth the hassle. The product was fine but they aren't going to charge you sales tax. This is a huge hassle and it's all because they were too lazy to deal with it themselves. I will definitely not order from them again. read more

I just ordered two tshirts - one for me, one for my husband - for the Tough Mudder we're running on my birthday. After designing them the website told me I couldn't order a design with more than 2 colors on the shirt I'd selected, so I called the customer service number to see what I could do. From the moment I called I was given the absolute best service I've ever had from any custimer service reps I've spoken too (I'm not exagerating here). The first girl I spoke with, Linsday, was extremely helpful and let me know that she'd be able to order my design with those colors with no problem. She said she just needed to tweek the design a bit so that the resolution would be best for the size, etc... We hung up, and within about 20 minutes she'd fixed my design and sent me the new links. Once I decided to order, I called back (a few weeks later) and spoke with someone named Logan. He was no only extremely helpful, he was also friendly and told me about his Tough Mudder experience while he was getting all my things ready to go. His computer was slow during the process of readying my designs and he came back from my hold several times to apologize/let me know he was still there. Once everything was ready to go I was able to order over the phone quickly, and immediately got a confirmation email. I was confused by the email because it looked as if I'd ordered 2 of the same shirt - rather than mine and my husbands (two different designs). I called back and the girl I spoke to said, "Oh, you were just talking to Logan, I'll ask him, he's right next to me." They let me know that the system put it in as one design even though they'd be separated once everythin was processed. A few moments later I received a new confirmation email detailing this AND a personal email from Logan apologizing for the confusion and confirming that each of my designs had been ordered. Plus, he wished me luck on my race. I'm a frequent user of Cafepress, which I'll likely still use often because of how quick and user friendly it is. But, for more complex orders (this one, for example, I needed on a performance tshirt) CustomInk will ALWAYS be my go-to! read more
