After water mitigation and demolition were completed, we were left needing extensive repairs and full remodels of the affected areas. This was our first time dealing with a major home issue, and navigating insurance, contractors, and conflicting opinions felt overwhelming and stressful. I spoke with several contractors and received multiple estimates, but Alan stood out immediately. He was the first to respond and the first to give clear, straightforward, and honest answers. Beyond that, Alan is genuinely such a fun and easygoing person to work with, which made a stressful situation feel much more manageable. He has a great eye for design and prioritizes top-notch materials while still being realistic and respectful of budget. He guided us through the design process, helped with material selection, and made thoughtful recommendations every step of the way. Marlon and Emmanuel are incredibly knowledgeable, respectful, and truly kind. We converted two rooms plus a hallway into a master suite as well as split two large upstairs rooms into three. We had structural concerns and lots of logistics to work out and I wouldn't trust anyone other than Mike to draw up the plans to make sure everything is safe and up to code. Al oversaw the projects and was in constant communication with us and regularly was on site to make sure everything was going smoothly. If anything wasn't 100% correct or what we had discussed, he would make sure it was remedied. Big shout out to Franz who even showed up to work the day after his wife had a baby! The M3 team worked late days and on weekends (with our consent) to meet their deadlines, even when the county held them up with permitting issues they still worked hard to finish within our timeframe. We even made major changes to our plans after construction had begun and they were able to pivot and help us get more square footage for the upstairs bedrooms. There were also numerous curveballs that they handled with ease (ya never know what you'll get with an old house). This was our first time doing any sort of large project and the team at M3 gave us plenty of guidance and support to make sure the finished product exceeded our expectations. The reasons we keep hiring Munoz Construction is because they do excellent work and Jose Munoz communicates very well throughout the project so there are no misunderstandings and the customer gets exactly what they want. Jose's teams are always respectful of our home, making sure to cover the floor with drop cloths and cleaning up thoroughly before leaving for the day. Jose is meticulous about everything being done properly to achieve the best possible result. We couldn't recommend Munoz Construction more highly. Pedro and Armando showed up on time each morning and took great care in the work they did as well as an amazing job cleaning up each and every day. Jose stopped by once or twice a day to review the work, ask us for our decisions on various areas of the project and make sure we were totally satisfied with the work being done. The tub in the master was converted into a walk-in shower. New electrical and ventilation were added. The owner Justin was great to work with, communicated almost daily, and stopped by the house frequently to check on the progress of the work and answer any questions or concerns I had. Selvin the team lead is a true craftsman, knows his stuff, and clearly takes pride in the quality of his work. Others on the team worked equally hard and they have all been with Calabrese for at least 10 years. I was pleased to see the company take their time and do a quality job instead of a rushed one like you often see. They addressed each of my concerns and the results speak for themself. We also needed a storm door installed on our front door. Finally, we needed some tile-work completed in our kitchen. We purchased everything from Smoot Lumber, Lowe's, and Ideal Tile, and Smoot provided a few recommendations for contractors. We got a few bids, and decided to go with Finished Touches, LLC. We ended up being *really* pleased with their work. (My background is in residential real estate development, so I know good work when I see it...) There was a lot of attention to detail. When questions came up, the folks at Finished Touches would ask us - as opposed to just "guessing" and moving forward. They were doing our doors, so we gave them a key, and they were very trustworthy. They were also very respectful of our recently refinished hardwood floors, white basement carpet, and new kitchen appliances. Because our Smoot and Lowe's orders came in at different times, our schedule was pretty loose, but Finished Touches was okay with that. Finally, their prices were very reasonable, and aside from their awesome tile-guy, they self-performed their work. These are good guys - definitely check them out if you're doing renovations on your place. (Note: We did our own door and door hardware schedule, and paid for all items ourselves. Finished Touches picked up the items at the retailers for us.)
