I used the Yelp project assistant feature and after a short while, I received contact from Ron, via the Key Carpet Yelp business page. Ron quickly filled me in regarding his 45 years experience in carpeting repair and then reviewed some photos I sent him to get a better picture of my situation. Ron quoted me $400 for the job, using the extra carpeting material I had on hand and offered to come the very next day, Friday mid morning. Ron gave me several assurances he'd handle whatever situation was present and not to give it any more worry. I appreciated his confidence and stated flexibility regarding the job conditions and his intention to just get it done. Ron is old school and not a Prima-donna. On a prompt arrival, Ron and his helper Brayson moved our kids bed out of the way, tore out the old carpeting, filthy tack strips, and treated the area with an odor neutralizer before jumping into the installation. The whole job took almost exactly 3 hours from arrival to departure. Ron & Brayson were true beasts in knocking out the job! I'm currently unclear whether this was a referral from Key Carpet to Lenderman Flooring, or Key Carpet employees themselves... but I'm a satisfied customer either way.

While planning to sell our home we were also in the process of moving 4,500 miles away. We had multiple businesses coming to our home on certain days to do their specific jobs (cleaning, staging, photographing, open house etc). I was told several times exactly how long the installation of the carpeting should take and based all other appointments on what I had been told. While on a trip I received a call telling me the installation would take another few days, which was simply unacceptable. Thankfully, Key Carpet was able to pull employees from another job to finish ours on time. This whole process caused an extreme amount of stress and headaches. While we were happy with how the new carpeting looked, it was definitely not the smoothest process.

He came to the home and provided a free estimate. He was professional, kind, and completely transparent about what he believed he could accomplish with the wood floors, tile, and grout. I knew that any improvement would be better than the condition they were in, and he exceeded those expectations. He also accommodated our tight schedule and completed everything before move‑in, which was a huge relief. I let him into the house remotely, and he spent about 4-4.5 hours cleaning roughly 1,100 sq. ft. of flooring. After finishing, he sent photos showing a phenomenal transformation -- and even those pictures don't fully capture how beautiful the floors look now. The entire space feels refreshed, brighter, and genuinely different. It changed the energy of the home, and it feels great knowing we're moving into a truly clean space. I highly recommend him and his family‑owned company. Their professionalism, quality of work, and customer care are outstanding. We will absolutely be using them again in the future. Their staff member showed up on time, and he was very professional. I felt comfortable with him in my home, and he did a beautiful job on our carpets. I was very impressed with his ability to get out some of the ware spots in the high traffic areas. Our carpets look brand new, and the house smells great. He arrived at 9 AM, and finished six rooms and the stairway in an hour and 45 minutes. It's now an hour later, and the carpets are nearly dry and most rooms. We felt the value was incredible, and we will definitely have them back again. So much easier than doing it ourselves!

So the salesman who I spoke with on the phone previously came in from smoking (while the other two just sat...staring...and NOT CARING). He did warn me my grout isn't in stock anymore but he couldn't see my file because I only had a credit and no file. He was kind enough to help suggest Home Depot (another bad experience) and Lowe's where I got the match. He asked for a review and I assumed that based on his level of service in sales, that would carry through the entire project. Unfortunately, that assumption was dead wrong. Tim mismeasured our flooring, and the installers did not have enough material to complete the job. They had to leave the project incomplete with our home in disarray while more flooring was ordered. They kept trying to make us wait until the end of the week. We did not want to wait while the house was in disarray. I guess to get us to stop talking, they said that the installers would be back on Wednesday. I took time off so I could be present during the install, only for them to call me 30 minutes before arrival to say they couldn't come until Saturday. The contractor also asked us to sign completion paperwork, but we refused to sign anything until the job was actually finished. While I felt bad knowing they couldn't get paid until paperwork was signed, that's between the contractor and Empire. It's not the customer's responsibility. The contractor should know not to ask people to sign papers for work that isn't finished. The contractor should also ask permission before they get too comfortable in a client's bathroom. None of them asked to sit on our toilets and handle their business. That is very unprofessional of them. We repeatedly tried to reach Tim the salesman to resolve the issue. When he finally returned our call, there was no sense of urgency, despite the inconvenience we were dealing with. What's most frustrating is the lack of accountability. Instead of owning the mistake and trying to make things right, Tim attempted to shift blame. This situation exists solely because of improper measuring and poor follow-up. I now understand why Empire has so many low ratings. I would not recommend them to anyone.

The young man came to do the floor in our laundry room. He worked by himself and started at 9:30 AM and worked until 8:30 PM. He was a nice young man, but he needed help. It was too much for him. He moved our utility wash basin to do the floor. When he put it back, it wasn't done right because when we turned the faucet on water poured all over the floor. We called empire the next day. They kept saying someone will get back to you. This went on for four days and now the fifth day, we still haven't heard from them. So it seems like we're going to have to pay a plumber to come in and repair what this young man did wrong. Because of this situation, we wanted to cancel the kitchen project. We had put down a deposit for both jobs. This company told us that the $1907 deposit will not be refunded in its entirety. They said that we will be refunded approx $527 of our money. My husband threatened to get a lawyer and and I threaten to write bad reviews on them if they did this. Later on that day, they made an exception. I want everyone to know what kind of company they are dealing with and what they think they are entitled to if you agree to have something done and then change your mind! You also should know that if something goes wrong they will not back you up! And then if you agree to have some work done and put a deposit down you will only get 1/4 of your money back. Called me the day before to confirm the time. Erroyl and Bob showed up on time and begun inspecting the vents and duct work. They soon realized that my ducts were clean already. We walked the house together and the took pictures of each vent and showed me the inside. Very clean! They looked at my HVAC unit and that was clean too! They then inspected the dry vent and....clean! They were very thorough and explained everything as they went along. I appreciate them taking the time to look in all vents and explain what they saw. Both men were very professional throughout the appointment. Even though I did not end up needed the service I would highly recommend this company to everyone!
