Upon moving in two years ago, our home inspector told us that the humidifier connected to our HVAC system was broken and that we'd need a new one. I tested it myself and it seemed to turn on, but the parts seemed extremely corroded, so I left it alone. Fast forward two years. Our house had been very dry, and me, my wife, and kids were experiencing the effects of it, so I decided to call Beloman to get a quote on either replacing the parts or getting a totally new unit. The receptionist transferred me to Jerry, who answered all my questions and offered to come out and take a look at the unit a few days later. He not only called to confirm the appointment the day prior to the appointment but was also right on time the day of. After taking a quick look at the unit, he determined that the unit was in fine, working order and that it only needed a new filter. We live right down the street, so he made a call back to the office to let them know exactly which one we'd need so that I could be in and out when I went to pick it up. The service charge was going to be $60, and although he was only there a total of 10 minutes, I reached for my wallet because fair is fair. I'd also like to add that I'm active duty military. With a sincere "Thanks for what you do, I appreciate you," he told me to put my wallet away and simply asked us to consider him and the company in the future when we had any issues. This was beyond generous and much appreciated given it was also a week before Christmas. I'd highly recommend Jerry and his team. Not only because of the discount he gave us, but because we were totally ignorant to what was wrong with our unit; he could have upsold us on another thousand dollar unit, but instead provided us great customer service and advice on extending the life of our current one. Our water heater burst on a Friday morning recently. Well, the drain valve popped out. Water was going everywhere in our basement (unfinished, fortunately). I called Beloman at around 8, and Colby was there a little before 10. After assessing the situation, he told us that he could simply replace the drain valve (much cheaper), or we could replace the whole thing. Our water heater was about 24 years old, so we decided to replace it. Colby got it finished in a little over 2 hours. The important points for me are: 1) They were prompt. They got someone out pretty quickly 2) We were offered a cheaper option, even though we decided to go with a replacement. 3) The work was quick and courteous. I've posted before that I won't call anyone else for plumbing, and this emergency of ours only solidifies that. I've read reviews on Angie's List of other companies trying to get you to spend the most possible, even on things you don't need. I don't ever worry about that with Beloman. read more

Woke up one morning with no heat. Company coming that night to spend the week-end. Never had to call anyone before so I called a friend in the area who said he wouldn't use anyone but Bel-O Sales and Service in Belleville. I called them and was told they would have someone out that morning and gave me a time window. When serviceman was delayed they called and kept me informed. Technician was very pleasant and explained everything he was doing to diagnose the problem. Needed a thermostat which he had in the truck so the repair was completed quickly. Technician also reviewed the proper way to shut down the furnace and made some recommendations on the kind of filters to use for my furnace. Can't comment on pricing because I have nothing to compare with but someone once told me if you can ever get someone out to your house to fix something the same day for under $200 you're probably doing ok. If that's true, I did ok. Would definitely use them again. read more

We had a new Carrier HVAC system installed in our home. Jerry was our guy who handled all the sales and set up the crew. Brandon and Brant were awesome technicians who did the work. I have worked in the HVAC business for 30+ years so I am familiar with the work that had to be done. I had eight different HVAC companies come out and give me a bid for this work. I checked with the contractors I worked with from the Saint Louis Art Museum, and found out that Below-man was one of the top-rated companies in the area. Brad the sales representative is the PERFECT sales rep. He isn't pushy at all but gives an honest, fair representation and pricing. And his service does NOT stop once he's sold you! He came back out during installation and again after completion to check everything over. Then, 6 months later, when we had some sound concerns, he responded immediately to the service man's suggestion on how to reduce the sound, and came out and checked it out himself almost immediately! He and Scott the service man (who is very professional and thorough) came up with a fix for the problem and took care of it immediately. Great company, great service, and the best techs in the area. We have used Bell-O for over 20 years. No problems. Had latest PM done (there twice a year inspection set up is the best) and told service man that the AC didn't work. After checking out system gave us the bad news, compresser dead. Jerry came out and gave us our options, we decided to replace and set up time. Andy and Jim Came on time, put down clothes to protect our floors and then removed old unit and put in new unit. John K came out to diagnose whether our 18,000 btu window ac was repairable after it quit blowing cold air. He arrived promptly within the scheduled timeframe, thoroughly checked everything that could have gone wrong, found the locked up compressor, & attempted everything he could to repair it with the tools & parts on-hand. It was not able to be repaired, but John clearly explained every aspect of the problem & step he took to try to fix it, & i absolutely felt that he tried everything. Our A/C began acting up on Labor Day! I was able to reach someone and have an appointment scheduled for the first thing Tuesday morning. The technician arrived on time, and was very couteous making sure to wear protective footwear when entering my home. He quickly identified the problem and took care of it. We had a sudden clogged pipe issue in our master bathroom with water backing up into the shower.
