Dr. Tran is very attentive and knowledgeable and cares that you get the eye care needed for you...no cookie cutter here. Today was my second time at Custom Eyes. As Arnold says "I'll be back"...again. On both visits price and service were top notch. After my original visit I had to return to swap out a lens on my glasses. She simply adjusted my script to better match my left eye which as slight astigmatism. On this current visit, Dr. Tran was honest informing me that I was able to be fitted with a "normal" contact lens vs. Toric (much more expensive). She saved me the time of waiting another year (I was well short of funds for Toric lenses) to get contacts with that timely advice. Thanks Dr. Tran! The front staff folks were pleasant too. This Dr was amazing ! She really took a lot of time with me & my son . My son is 11 and has Autism , she was great with him & didn't make him do any unnecessary testing. She got our prescriptions right on . The Custom Eyes part was great also , everybody was super nice & professional. The prices were excellent compared to other places I've been to. I came in for a contact lens fitting. I came out a happy patient. I had expected to walk in and be greeted with, "Hi. Sign in. Sit down. Wait. The doctor will be with you." In and out. No personality. Nope! I must admit I was taken by surprise when I was greeted with a warm smile and an associate led me to the back to sign in and fill out some paperwork. After some chit-chat with the associate, Dr. Tran appeared shortly after and took me in for my eye exam. What set Dr. Tran apart from optometrists I had seen before was her personality and her genuine willingness to explain and educate me through every step of my eye exam. This definitely put me in a comfortable position and gave me confidence to be in her care. Dr. Tran was very personable and offered me advice when it came to purchasing contact lenses and brands she would personally recommend. I had a positive experience here. Service is fast. Staff is nice, patient and friendly. Doctor is knowledgeable and explained things and give advices. She isnt in a hurry just like any other doctors. They have frames for cheaper price and they look nice and durable. Just be careful in choosing frames coz people drop it and it and may damage it. I just wish they have more designer frames. Never been to an eye place as good as this. Frames are less expensive than other place I've been to and they are stylish. They have safety glasses that decent and professional (safety glasses are rarely in fashion...). The eye doctor is extremely knowledgeable and understanding, and they have quick turn around in terms of getting glasses and/or contacts. I wish they were everywhere. read more

This review is specific to the receptionist/staff. I am a big fan of local businesses that treat people well. I was in Vegas on vacation recently and lost my only pair of contact lenses. No backup glasses either (I don't plan too well!) so I called up these guys and they were super accommodating. All they asked for was for me to show up with my prescription to pick up a pair of contacts. I am not a customer and had never received any services here so they were under no obligations to help me. I've been a returning customer for over 5 years, getting 2 new pairs of glasses each year. I've never had a problem with them before until today. One pair of my glasses started to crack in the frame just after two weeks of purchasing them. I took them back, they swapped them out no problem. However these new frames started cracking in the same place. I realized now that it was due to the poor quality of the frames. I took them back to the store, and because it was passed the 60 day warranty, the owner was gonna charge me to replace them. This is how the owner treats his good customers. After having raised my voice at the awful customer service portrayed by the owner, (the rest of the staff was great and very helpful) he ended up switching the frames at no charge. Eyeglass companies are such a saturated market, it surprises me how terrible these independent owners are at customer service. read more

I needed to get some new glasses, but had used my insurance benefit for contacts (I get one or the other, but not both) so I went on the search for affordable glasses. I came across reviews for Custom Eyes- could it be true this place is as good as claimed? So I went by to check it out. And yes, this place is great. The staff is friendly and they have a wide variety of frame styles to choose from including fancy "fashion" brands like Prada. The newest frames are up in front, but off to the side they have a selection of frames that are past years styles (with brands like Nike, guess, etc) and deep discount prices. I selected a pair of the "discount" frames made by Ellen Tracy. I got my lenses ordered and was out the door for less than $150 for frames AND lenses (lightweight poly-lenses, scratch & glare protection). They normally can make your glasses same day on-site, but they didn't have my lenses in stock that day, so I did have to wait a few days to pick them up. But paying $150 vs paying well over $400 for glasses without insurance at places like LensCrafters was well worth the wait. I will definitely be going back to these folks for all my eyeglass needs. read more

In the past, I have had a difficult time finding an optometrist that can effectively prescribe the right contacts for my astigmatism. It seemed like the prescription was always off and I had so much difficulty seeing that my only option was to wear my glasses. Dr. Tran nailed my prescription on the first try! I was so excited. They immediately gave me a trial pair and it was such a relief to me to finally be able to see again. It means more to me than I can explain. Thank you so much. Also, I was seen for my appointment very promptly with no waiting. The front desk staff in both the front desk and the desk near the back of the office are so friendly and accommodating. They always communicate with me and follow up with me whenever I have a question. I was also very enthused to find out that they have some sort of digital dilation that has no down time, instead of using the uncomfortable liquid that leaves your eyes dilated for hours. I was very impressed with the modern technology they have available. Overall, I will definitely continue to go to this practice and will refer my family and friends to them! read more

I love the glasses that I got from this place although they took forever to come in. I originally got an eye exam and ordered my glasses on 12/26/16. They wee oversized so I had to have them sent off to be coated and cut. The glasses did not arrive until a month later at which point I tried to get a retest with Dr. Tran. She was really pushing me to wear the glasses for a couple days, but I didn't like her answer so I talked to the people up front and they saw that the people who made my lenses made them even stronger than my already too strong prescription. We had to send the glasses off again. In the meantime​, they did accommodate me with a complimentary pair of glasses. Wonderful customer service! David finally got me a retest with Dr. Tran and we got my lenses fixed pretty quickly​ after getting the right prescription, but messing around with Dr. Tran almost had me sending my glasses off for a third time because she was trying hard not to retest. I got my glasses mid March of 2017 by no fault of David or the front crew. All in all *Great service with David and his crew up front. *Dr. Tran is super nice and great at her job, but I was disappointed in the fact that she didn't want to retest. It was such an unnecessary hassle. *The selection of frames is huge. *They have great frames for every, and I mean every, price range. read more

Dr. Tran provides exceptional service, is courteous, quick and understanding of questions and concerns you might have. Her assistant (I totally missed her name--perhaps Monica?) was also stellar and made sure my pre-exam tests and retinal scans were quick and painless and that I understood the procedures before she began. Depending on your insurance, Custom Eyes optical CAN be rather pricey. I was somewhat taken aback by the cost for two pairs of prescription lenses when I paid so little before at a generic eyeglass store. However, for the time they take to explain and work through what options are available to you, the service alone is worth the time and money. This review is regarding Henderson Family Eyecare. I was a new patient and when I called to make my appointment I informed the receptionist why and what I was experiencing, my insurance info etc. When I arrive for the appointment I was informed that the test I needed was not covered and the out of pocket cost would be $80. I decided to have the test done despite the cost. Dr. Kade was awesome and explained everything as he went along. I even made another appointment to have an eye exam and was looking forward to getting some new Eyewear however, the receptionist leaves much to be desired. I called to cancel and reschedule my appointment and was placed on hold while she got her "schedule out" I eventually hung up. I called back and left a message that I would not be returning because of that. I know it sounds petty but much more took place that would make this review too long. I was hoping to find a new service provider other than Visionworks but I guess that is where I will continue to go. I felt as if I was expecting to much for her to do her job. We are so happy we found Dr. Tran. We were seeing another eye doctor for years and decided to make a change after some poor customer service. We are so glad we did!!! She is very knowledgeable and fixed my prescription. She also examined my daughters and both were in need of corrective lenses. She thoroughly explained everything for myself and my girls. I felt very comfortable talking to her and understanding what was going on and why we were prescribed what we were. I had my eyes examined by Dr. Kade Stubbs. Very nice guy, exam went fine. Then I went to Custom Eyes to order my new glasses. They arrived today, so I drove in from Boulder City to pick them up. When I tried them on, my mid-vision was blurry. The optician came out and proceeded to tell me (without even looking at the glasses) that the reason it is blurry is because I did not buy the more expensive progressive glasses. I could tell he really didn't want to even think that anything could be wrong with the glasses, so I just took them and left. I figured, lesson learned. I won't buy from them again. After I got home, I put the glasses on and looked at myself in the mirror, and they are crooked!!! The frame is bent, so of course when I am looking mid range, one eye is looking through the distance portion and the other eye through the close up portion...no wonder it is blurry. I will have to make another trip into Henderson and see if they can fix the frames. Not happy, especially since optician didn't even bother to look at the glasses, read more

I Recently got the new transition contact lenses, and so far I am really enjoying them a lot! The new technology in eye care is always very intriguing to say the least. They have transformed the use of everyday contact lenses! This new advanced lenses come in a grayish-clear- purple shade much different than regular clear translucent lenses, they work so fast and you cannot see the difference when you are wearing them. The transition is so smooth and very fast you wont be able to tell when they've changed. I highly recommend these contacts for everyone, especially if you are formally familiar with the eye glass transition lenses! extremely helpful over the suns powerful rays with a nice bonus of having a polarizing additive! read more
