I've been wanting to come here for years and at long last got the chance. My wife and I have…read moredecided that 2026 will be the year we finally begin eating more cleanly. Jensen Reserve is a farm-based butcher shop and artisan food producer in Walton County, Georgia that came highly recommended by friends. It's not a large place, but offers high-quality, pasture-raised, locally sourced meats such as beef, chicken, and its own pork products from the rare Meishan pig breed. They provide Artisan food products like prosciutto, capicola and dips and spreads you can feel good about consuming. The Owner/Farmer, Laura Jensen, wants you to eat like a farmer everyday! We had the chance to meet her and she explained why she began farming after battling several health issues. It is important to her to offer meats free of chemicals and pollutants. The entire staff was lovely and we had a BLAST talking with many of the customers, some of which convinced us to purchase far more than we intended! Still, we remained conservative because we weren't sure if the hype was truly worthy. But let me offer some assurance from a former Yelp Elite member for more than 13 years... they are indeed worth the hype! [ WHAT WE PURCHASED ] We took home two steak burger patties, 5lbs of frozen chicken breasts, a Teres Major steak, a jar of peach habanero pepper jelly, a block of Havarti cheese, a loaf of cheddar jalapeno sourdough bread, and one container each of their regular chicken salad and the buffalo chicken dip. It was so surprisingly good that we ate the chicken salad and buffalo dip within 48 hours of our first bite! The steak burgers were absolutely amazing and my wife has been really enjoying the sourdough bread. We also had a great date night in our living room with a movie, club crackers, the Havarti cheese and peach habanero pepper jelly. We have yet to cook the chicken or teres major steak, but if what we've already devoured is any indicator, we will be very happy with our meal. They offer freezer packages, half hog & whole hog packages, and everything from a 1/4 of a cow to a whole cow package as well as bulk buys and weekly specials. Their "stock your frig freezer bundle" for $285 fits in most refrigerator freezers with no need for a deep freezer (according to their sign). Now that's smart advertising! [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] Not gonna kid anyone, some of the steak prices are uncomfortable, but after comparing some of the organic local grocery chain prices for chicken and ground beef, Jensen meats and other products are actually great buys!

There's a fresh meat counter in the back "carniceria" with a pretty great selection of meats both marinated and not. To the left of the meat counter is the restaurant. There was a little language barrier and we had no direction on how to order or where to order but we made it happen. Being from California I am a little familiar with some Spanish words and most foods so I knew what I wanted. On one side of the menu there are also English descriptions of the dish. See placed our order with the nice lady at the register and found ourselves a seat. The restaurant had a constant flow of customers shell we were there so we felt great about what we were going to get. We ordered the quesabirrias, carnita tacos, and a barbacoa burrito. As well as an orange Fanta bottle in Mexico. (That real sugar and fancy glass bottle makes a difference) The carnita tacos were ready first and OMGSHH they had me doing a little happy dance. The carnita was juicy, tender, salty, with all the wonderful bits of fat and pork skin. Add to that the homemade tortillas, anddd then the homemade salsas. I still think of those tacos... Second the quesabirrias came out. I'm not big on ordering trending foods but since this is a dish I make regularly for my family I like to try other's take on it. The tacos were made with the homemade tortillas. This time double wrapped to prevent them from breaking apart. Honestly this dish was just okay for me. Loved the tortillas but the barbacoa, though tender, was actually pretty dry. There also wasn't a crazy amount of cheese so that didn't make a difference. The tacos definitely needed dipping in the consume. Which was also okay. Not the worst I've had but not the best. Didn't receive the dried arbor pepper but I did add some of the chili oil they had and it was a great addition. I love spicy foods and it was perfect for me. Not too spicy and adds a little smokiness. But we warned it may be too spicy for most. The burrito was probably the most disappointing. It was yummy though filled with mostly rice and very little protein. My husband got it with barbacoa which after having the birria tacos we realized was dry so that didn't help. What did help were to add some of all the great sauces they had. Next time we will try it with another protein and probably stay away from the barbacoa even though it's usually one of our favorites. Of course we also grabbed some chicharron before we left because they looked amazing. We usually have a local place we liked to get ours but they looked great at this location we couldn't help ourselves. I can't wait to go back to try more of their entrées and my husband their ceviche!

Don't be scared to ask for samples, because they're glad to send you little packets to try. I was looking for an Alabama white sauce, and saw that lanes was listed as one of the best. While I was at it, I ordered some Q-Nami rub and a few other rubs. Before my order reached me, they reached out to me and told me they made one mistake and we're sending another sauce. Free of charge. You got a love companies who care about their reputation. But what you want to hear about is how were the rubs and sauces: Nashville, hot chicken - I've had this Rob from other places and is all about the kick. However, Lane's version is about the flavor, not just the kick (but still has a nice hot spice). Q-Nami - another solid choice, really great depth of flavor pared with nice heat. Honey Sriracha - Oh my goodness, I'm not a fan of hot spice, but the pairing of the honey and the Sriracha was outstanding. It was like the best savory, the best, sweet and the best heat you've ever had. Spellbound - this is my favorite of all the rubs that I've gotten from them. It goes perfect with ribs, or chicken and the flavor is out of this world. Not too much spice, but a whole lot of complex flavor combinations..ORDER THIS NOW! Apple Pie Rub - this is listed as having both sweet and savory taste. I didn't find the sweet, but the smell of apples and the spices contained are really good. Sorta White Sauce - this is the sauce that are rally brought me to their website, and it's good, but it is my least favorite of the sauces that I've tried. Sweet - this was a solid performer, and I've used it on chicken, ribs, even use it on some shrimp. Carolina Mustard - this is the product they sent me by mistake and let me tell you, IT IS MY FAVORITE. don't fall asleep looking for other sauces, because this is the real deal. Coming up I want to try the pow pow marinade and the o Steak Supreme Rub.. Just gives me something to look forward to for my next order. I don't think they have a brick and mortar barbecue restaurant, and I'm assuming they may have a brick and mortar place to order their rubs and sauces. On my next trip to Atlanta I'm going to carve out some time to head over there and scope it out..if not, you can order all of their products and have them ship to you.

Surprised not more reviews for how incredible their products and service are. They've got so many…read moredifferent options for rubs and sauce that are all amazing just order some and enjoy your tastebuds will thank you.
