Located in a small plaza and can be confusing with the Illinois Nut and Candy sign but when you walk in the sweet smell of chocolate fills the air. There are glass closures of bon bons/ truffles that I've learned are hand painted, chocolate covered everything, gelato and more. They also have taffy apples, some with just the caramel, some with nuts, some with chocolate chips. You can never go wrong! Their chocolate is kosher friendly and I'm obsessed with the cookie bark, I could eat that all day. Highly recommend going on one of their chocolate tours too that's available on sundays. Make sure you book first as I found out they do sell out. You get to learn the history of chocolate and make your own taffy apples and chocolate dipped goodies. They also ship nationwide, I am definitely going to order some goodies for birthdays coming up!

Old School favorites that I enjoyed as a kid. I walked around mesmerized by the specialized, unique flavors of chocolate, gummies and many other goodies. The candy store serves up chocolate with liquor, coffee, latte, ice cream and other delicious treats that will water your mouth. I selected my 2 pieces of chocolate and purchase some additional treats. I handed the lady behind the counter my money and in return to lays my change down on the counter. I put my hands out for her to place it in my hands. Unfortunately, she missed the hint. She looked down at the money for me to pick it up myself. I have been eating these chocolates since 1997. On this visit, which it has been quite some years since I've been back, I was a little surprised to see very low stock if not only limited stock. For example, I am used to seeing the logs of three hazelnuts laid together and covered in dark chocolate or milk chocolate, these were nowhere to be found on the counter. There are several other versions that were not visible or laid out on the counter. However, they did have a wider assortment of the solid animals for example, how convenient that they had the horses in preparation for Chinese new year Prices here haven't changed at all, not surprised. Glad the staff on this particular day there were three of them behind the counter, which is a lot and we're very friendly and attentive as well. Disappointingly, though despite the amount of chocolates I bought, which was a little short of $100 was never offered a sample of anything and every time I go I'm always offered multiple samples. Not sure if this is a new policy or a new practice. One of the employees also noted that the owner of the store was sitting directly outside of the store and she and the gentleman were seated at a small table. The woman was on the phone the entire time, and the man was gazing at his cell phone as well. I'm glad that they let their employees do their jobs and they don't micromanage apparently which is good. I also expected to see more Christmas decor and just more decor in general as these stores are typically filled to the brim with their cute decorations and the sample giveaway boxes and the flowers so I was a little surprised to see it pared back this year.

Chocolate, nuts, gift boxes, bulk orders--whatever you want, they've got it. I left with half a pound each of milk chocolate malt balls and strawberry yogurt covered raisins. Also, when you buy from the bulk bins, the very-sweet candy lady gives you a handful of candy to sample. You know, to juice up for your run. Duh.

They have chocolate covered everything here: nuts, berries, pretzels, plus those yogurt-covered candies, bags of whole nuts (cashews at $5.99 a lb.), chocolate and yogurt coated caramel and nut patties, and lot's of very reasonably priced holiday and gift packaged items. Many are between $5-10.00. (Great picks for those folks you don't really like but for some reason you need to give them a gift.) Or stocking stuffers. I acted as my own parent here and said: "OK, now you can buy one thing here, just ONE!" I ended up with a nice large bag of something I know I will eat in one day once I start on them: Chocolate-coated sponge candy. An 11 ounce bag for $5.14! Such a deal. If I'm a good boy this week, perhaps my inner parent will let me go back for more goodies!

Each dessert ordered included either my daughter's custom logo imprinted onto the item ( which I provided to them ) and/ or items with her theme colors which made for such a fun and beautiful sweet table . From the chocolate covered pretzels to the chocolate covered Oreos with her custom logo on each one , to the gummy board complete with personalized congratulatory message using gummy letters , to the gummy push pops to the cake pops - everything was just outstanding and tasted as magnificent as the items looked. I appreciated how each tray was nicely packaged in a way that allowed me to serve everything "as is" without having to re plate any desserts . I thought pricing was fair. Highly recommend this place !
