I thought I posted this review a long time ago, but I never did. We stopped by in March for some ice cream. I got butter pecan hard scoop ice cream in a waffle cone. My boyfriend got a custard sundae. We both enjoyed the ice cream that day and I've been back several times after. They make a good Dole whip and have all sorts of fancy ice cream variations. I was excited for another spot for custard as everything looked amazing on the social media pages. I made a special trip to Custard Company to try something new. I should have known it was trouble when the menu had no prices and could not view the menu until close to the window. Didn't mind the drive thru line as that was another option versus going inside. The building was clean on the exterior, had a nice patio area to sit and eat with ample parking. Located a few blocks from Telegraph with easy to find signage. I ordered from pictures online as there was a young lady walking to vehicles in line to take orders for digital payments. I thought this was pretty awesome as it could speed up service when vehicles made it to the window. There was not an option for a receipt with the clover machine though. I made it to the window where there were multiple friendly faces as the window. My order was made and handed to me. Issues with getting a receipt occurred when I asked for one. The young lady tried handing me a ticket that showed them filling the order. That was not a receipt. She tried to explain the prices were due to something increasing. I didn't care about what I paid, but I wanted my receipt from using my credit card. I tried the custard and it was good. There was not much filling in the generous mound of ice cream though. I was disappointed after making the trip, waiting in line and getting to try what was so hyped up by multiple bloggers on social media. I tossed 1/2 the cup of custard in the trash and I strongly dislike wasting money. It was not worth what they charged. I didn't see any vegan options and the young lady who was asking for orders was not helpful as I mentioned it was my first time there. I don't plan on returning. Legit spent $6.25 on a cup of ice cream with a tablespoon of apple pie filing and covered in graham cracker crumbs (tasted like it). I can get vegan ice cream or standard custard at Dairy Whip down the road where pricing is listed on the menu AND you have access to a QR code as soon as you get in line to start looking before you get to the drive thru window to order. Update- but the business has pricing on the board at Monroe location from the previous Yelp reviews in the last 7 months. This loaded, overpriced custard option is just a gimmicky niche. Suggestions: QR code to a digital menu to view while in line. It could be put on a stand or something. Why not have prices listed on the menu? Premium pricing for custard should at least have a price list and cost for add ons. Handheld system with option for printing a receipt if this is a permanent option in drive thru. read more

The store is small but super cute! I got the pistachio-ashta swirl in a cup with nuts. One star off because the pistachio tasted super artificial & not even pistachio. it was also nearly a mint green color which definitely screamed artificial. it was $4.50 in total for the small cup & 1 topping. not bad. for 1 person, a small is the perfect amount. the consistency of the custard is perfect. the ashta flavor was amazing! the staff is also super kind, they were willing to remake mine when they realized they messed up. read more

Have really enjoyed coming here until our most recent trip. The orange Creamsicle cone they just posted on social media was not available. So we ordered a strawberry shortcake parfait and were given a strawberry loaded cone in a cup. Not what we ordered. Also they no longer have monster cookie ice cream which was my son's favorite. We went here the other day. Everything was great their custard is so good. We do come here often. Staff is always friendly. I love this location because there is plenty of parking and they truly make you feel welcomed. To the girl who was working Saturday around 3pm she is honestly soo friendly and fantastic. Employees have attitude--- the girl working Saturday night on feb 10, 2024. After I was complaining about their chocolate/twist ice cream and asked for a refund she looked at me like I was dumb. Apparently they changed the recipe and their ice cream doesn't taste as good-- soo much sugar. After lots of back and forth they finally gave me back my money. Definitely won't be returning to this location. I couldn't even finish my ice cream cone. I feel that the employees that were there are young and not experienced and need training. read more

Went here with my friends. I ordered a banana malt with no whip cream. They left out the malt powder and added whipped cream. My friend ordered the Oreo loaded cone, and they didn't put any fudge in the middle of cone. My other friend ordered a small cup of hard scoop ice cream. They filled up maybe half of the cup and served it to her. Not to mention there were no other customers here at the time, and the customer service was subpar. They, also, wouldn't punch the custard co customer rewards card. Fair to say we won't be visiting this location again. We will only be going to the original Monroe St. location from here on out.
