Came here for a foreign fill and was so impressed at how well they were able to match the work that I got done elsewhere!! Service was really kind as well, and I was out of the studio in about an hour (for a fill). The studio was a little hard to find, also because the elevator wasn't working on the day I went (use the stairs instead if this happens to you). If you want more voluminous lashes, ask for the D-curls in 10, 11, and 12. read more

I AM IN LOVE WITH MY NAILS !!! This was an amazing experience thank you so much Sayaka for taking so much time & detail into my nails. I'm obsessed with them and they are so well done! Sayaka is so meticulous and patient & has amazing customer service! I went somewhere previously where I had such a terrible gel extension done and I was so upset but coming here cheered me up so much and my nails look amazing again all because of Sayaka There were so many crystal and decorative options, more than places that charge way more for gels ! This is why I love this place. She did amazing work and the pricing is not unreasonable like most Manhattan locations ! I'm picky with my nails and Sayaka did an amazing job. Thank you again so much Sayaka!!! You're the best I will definitely be coming back and sending all of my friends to you as much as I can !!! You deserve it!! :) Xoxo - Ayah read more

The girls here are just the sweetest. I've had three technicians and they were all great. Reasons I like Curvy Lashes: 1) Kind and gentle techs w/ well done application (no clumps or unevenness) 2) Comfy beds and good music 3) Easy to get an appointment and you can text instead of call- I have even texted same day and they always try to squeeze me in if not the next day. 4) They offer Venmo payment for quick and easy transactions 5) Affordable and they have a decent rewards program! I also had my wallet recently stolen that had my almost filled up rewards card in it. They kindly back-stamped all my previous appointments so I wouldn't lose any of the points. SO NICE! My only real qualm is I feel like the glue used has not been as effective on me. I have had my lashes done at maybe 10 places with varying degrees of longevity. Curvy lashes is somewhere in between, requiring 2 week fills for me (I generally like to go 3-4 weeks if the glue works well with my lash hair). *Special things to note: -I believe it's cheaper if you pay with cash or Venmo over credit. -There's three beds in one room so there may be multiple clients at once. It's not noisy per se but I recommend head phones if you want to nap like I do during my fills. -The price varies by how often you go in and the amount of lashes you choose. If you go for a fill on 2 weeks and one day, it's considered a 3 week fill price. Tempted to try the lash perm as they do these here as well! read more

I went for a eyelash perm and tint. It was a very comfy office, but the end product was very disappointing and actually has made my morning routine so much harder. The top lashes on my left eye look much much different than the top lashes on my right eye. The ones on my left essentially stand straight up to the point where I can feel them on my eyelid. The ones on the right don't look much different than they did pre-treatment. And the tint was only on my top lashes (every other salon I've tried does both top and bottom). So my request that I didnt want to have to do my normal mascara routine in the morning over the next month while on vaca and traveling completely backfired. Rather, I feel quite self conscious about how different my eyes look. I most definitely will not be going back. read more

I have been going to the owners (Sayaka) business for about 7 years now, even before she had this business. Granted in the middle, I stopped going because she got sloppy in her work but I went back to give another try and she's gotten better with experience. After this recent time though, I won't go again. I had an emergency where I had to cancel and was charged the $50 fee. I know business is business but I had to sit with my mother in the ER that day. I brought my mom to her once too. I thought being charged under these circumstances was not fair. I was gunna do nail extensions and designs which would've been $150+ so it's not like she was really going to lose out. I had to cancel a lash extension appointment about two months before, but that was my own fault that I couldn't make it. I paid the fee with no problem or complaint. This was only the second time I had canceled. I know I'm not the most puntual client, but that is my own fault. Canceling because my mom was in the ER where I had to be with her AND you charge me for it makes me very upset. I will not be coming back in the future. I'll take my business else where. read more

I've been here twice now purchased a Groupon for eyelash extensions and a fill-in. My first time was with Meg. All I have to say is wow! She was excellent did the best extension job. I wanted a little extra 5D because I was going on vacation. I have to say I was so surprised by the excellent job. They lasted me over six weeks! The only reason I went back was because my fill-in was going to expire. I definitely could have prolonged it for two months. I've been getting extensions for Two years and this is the first time when the extensions would come out my own lashes would NOT. Today I went to Rika for a fill in and asked for a little less Then my last set. She gave me the most beautiful 3-D wispy extensions. Their prices are reasonable, the place is very clean comfortable and so cute. I highly recommend coming here for eyelash extension read more

I did C 11-13 with Sayaka. She was gentle and when I described to her what I liked, she was able to do a really great job. It was my mistake to get C 11-13s though. Too long for me and doesn't look as natural as I wanted. The spacing was perfect. I don't like mine too full so I got the 160, 80 each eye piece for 90$. Cash only. They give you a card and the more times you go, the more discount you get. I got a full set which took about an hr. They use a rental room a part of a big office floor, 2 beds in the room. I am happy with the results and will be going back to her except next time I'll do shorter length. Will post pix. read more

Not all eyelash perms are created equally. Live and learn. I went in to Curvy Lashes during their Christmas promotion to have a lash perm for $45 with Sayaka. This isn't my first time here either. I've been way back when they first opened but I can see the experience and results are not the same. I won't be back. The biggest reason I'm upset is that I actually don't see a difference between the lash perm and my regular lashes. I see some other Yelpers have had a similar experience. I also chose the L curve which is the most extreme option and I couldn't even tell anything was done. My permed lashes look like my normal uncurled lashes--I could create better results with an eyelash curler myself. I'm no stranger to lash perms and I know the look should be more dramatic. So basically I threw $50 down the drain (I still gave a $5 tip) and now I need to use an eyelash curler to get the look I want. Very disappointing. Secondly, I don't appreciate the lack of customer service. I tried cancelling through their scheduling app the night before and it wasn't working. They texted me telling me there was a $50 cancellation policy which I think is ridiculous. Life happens and their lack of accommodation and flexibility left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand that someone books time with you and I'm happy to pay a penalty fee but even high end spas will charge a fee for about half the service, not the entire service+ more. Curvy Lashes was one of the first places that did lash perms in this area but now there are better alternatives. I recommend you do your research on other places first, read the less than 5 Star reviews on yelp and then decide for yourself if this is the right fit for you. I, myself, was misled by all the positive reviews and now I'm stuck with lackluster lashes before the holiday. read more

I see Meg for an eyelash perm every 6 weeks or so. She is fabulous. So kind and gentle and I almost always fall asleep during the process! Great results for my stick straight lashes. Small room in a shared office space but comfortable massage-like tables. Have made same-day reservations before! Highly recommend. read more

I got an eyelash perm done by Saiyaka. I stopped into their location and made an appointment a few weeks in advance. It was easy and you can text Saiyaka easily. The space is small but clean and you definitely get an intimate feel that this shop is run by few and not a lash factory so each client will be handles with care. I hadn't gotten a perm done in years, and Saiyaka did a good job of explaining the process, results and aftercare. I did perms with Lavilash way back when which were fine but feel the perm here was much less stressful even relaxing maybe - sure you smelled the perm chemicals but it was truly handled with care (I couldn't tell because they didn't smell that bad). I never really felt the solution would risk running into my eyes and my eyes were properly closed the whole time. Saiyaka sat and supervised the whole time. It took 45 minutes which was quick. You can perm either naturally as a C curve or straight up and I choose straight up since I really have short lashes and want to use them for curl versus length. I did feel the perm for sure looked curly (some the inner corner lashes weren't as good). I plan to use good mascara for length and thickness. Saiyaka said it would last 4 weeks (longer than extensions) and not to wet your eyes for 24 hours, and use oil free makeup remover etc. same case as extensions. While I think extensions are more dramatic and make you look awesome I simply can't afford to upkeep them since they are $100+ a visit. I think curvy might have a happy hour where it's half price during like 1-5 weekdays but I'd never make that. Also I wear glasses so extensions sometimes get in the way and with the perm the care is much easier esp if you're active and still like to wear eye makeup. Cash only. Highly recommended! Prefer the independent places over the lash factories. Think the ladies here may do real Japanese gel manicures too. read more

This is definitely the best lash perm I've ever had! The technician took her time and was so sweet. No part of the process felt painful or uncomfortable. The office is a bit hard to find because it is one of many office spaces in the building, but the quality of the lash perm makes it SO worth it. read more

The worst place! Do not waste your time and money. I'd like to give them a zero star if I could. I've been there with my mom 2015 for her nails. I've never forgotten her name, SAYAKA took care of my mom's nails. But one of stones that she put on her nails fell off next day. We've never experienced such a things. We contacted Sayaka but she just said "I'll fix them, just come back" we lived far away but we went to see her again to get fixed. But we noticed that some stones were gone in 2-3 days after she fixed them. We contacted her to get our refund because we had to take the trains for a long time and waste our time because of her fault. Instead of apologizing to us, she refused to give us back our money and forced us to come back. This place was the worst place I've ever seen before!!! read more

Sayaka!!! Yessss girl hooked me up with the best eye lash perm. Took 1 hour. $45 she said would last 3-4 weeks. I didn't wet them for 24 hours so let's see if I could prolong it lmao. She was so sweet and yes she did double book but she would work on the other woman as I waited for my treatment to set so it didn't interrupt me at all. I posted before after pics. I am very happy so far with how it looks. But warning it does burn so don't wear contacts and expect some redness or burning/ irritation and maybe into the next day. Just flush out eyes with eye drops. read more

Curvy Lashes - Eyelash perm before and after - Eyelash Service Near Me - New York, New York

The two best things about this place: 1. it's only 1 person at a time so all of Yuki's attention is on you and 2. the results are natural lookin fluffly lashes instead of having them clumped together. I had gotten my lashes permed at Lavilash before and while I liked the results, as they became more popular, the quality of service declined. I just hope Curvy Lashes won't go the same way, although it probably will based on how many Lifebooker vouchers people purchased. When I first walked in (I had the first appointment), Yuki greeted me with a bright smile and before I even laid down on the bed she asked if I had brought my voucher. I think probably 99% of her business is through lifebooker. The bed wasn't that comfortable and I kept twitching because I wanted to dose off but was afraid to, and I didn't want to all of a sudden move my head or anything. The way Yuki does the perming is very different than the way the girls at LaviLash did it. She kept using solution to stroke my eyelashes individually, instead of just leaving it sitting there, which explains why the results are very natural. The experience was not as painful and the solutions did not hurt my eyes at all. Like! read more

Really disappointed with the eyelash extension service. It's been 2 weeks and ALL my eyelashes have fallen out. During the process my eyes were hurting so much I had to ask for a break twice (I'm experienced with eyelash extensions - I've done it ten plus times). The technician def. doesn't really know what she's doing. One was was uneven after it's done, but my eyes were hurting so much I told her to remove the bad ones instead of fixing them. Will not go back. read more

Today is the 4th time going to Yuki to curl my lashes. I've bought the 2-pack perm package twice so far and couldn't be happier! Each package was $49, which came out to $24.50 each visit. Too bad the perm is normally $75 a pop, or else I'd be more inclined to feed the addiction. Since I don't wear makeup unless it's for a special occasion or an interview, this is a natural way for me to look fresher without the hassle of curling & applying mascara in the morning. It's so worth it since the curl lasts almost 2 months! I've let Yuki take rein with deciding what type of curl to use and I've never been disappointed. Whether or not I end up with a C-curl, J-curl or L-curl, my lashes look extremely natural. If you have a preference, I suggest you let her know beforehand because she's never really gone out of her way to ask about my preference. She's very soft spoken and doesn't really talk unless it's to tell you how long the setting times are. As for the actual perm experience, Yuki plays soft relaxing piano music (I've dozed off and been scared awake by the timer a couple times). The "bed" is covered in a satin-like material and is pretty comfortable. Yuki is very meticulous about preventing chemicals from getting into the eyes, but I felt some burning right below the lash line that dissipated after she rinsed off the chemicals during today's session. I'm not blind, so I guess that's a good sign! I'm glad that her main location is now in a room situated at the back of the Capelli D'Oro salon @ 123 5th Ave. It's a lot more inviting and chic than her other location, which is in a somewhat rundown building. The salon is slightly noisier because of the music and its patronage, but that's not too important since Yuki does such a great job. read more

*Review is about service* I was really excited to try this place, especially after reading the glowing reviews on yelp, so when I scored a lifebooker deal ($39) I was all over it. I booked my appointment weeks in advance, but found out last minute I couldn't make it because of work so I called Yuki a few times to cancel but couldn't reach her so I let it be even though I will be losing out of my money (my lifebooker was expiring that week). Next thing I know, Yuki calls me and starts yelling at me about how I didn't call her (when I did many times) and I thoroughly apologized for wasting her time to which she said wasn't good enough. She is rude and completely unprofessional. It felt like I was dealing with a whining child who couldn't get her way. She made me very upset especially when I did everything in my power to let her know in advance. Needless to say I will never go to her shop nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. read more

Amazing job with my eyelash extensions, they came out great. She was nice and it was relaxing, way better than other places in NYC!

Great service and very affordable. I've gotten lash extensions at a number of places in NYC and Curvy Lashes is by far the most affordable. They will work with you to select the best lash curl and length for your eye. I also always fall asleep while getting my lashes done here which I love. Plus they accept venmo payments! I am knocking them one star because I've found that my lashes do not last as long as they do when I get them done at other places. Overall solid choice for you lash extensions. read more

I was extremely nervous about my first eyelash perm experience. It's letting a stranger come so close to my eyes with unknown chemicals! But the owner Yuki was so knowledgeable and gentle, I ended up dozing off during the process. They're pretty serious in keeping their appointments and it's clear to see why: Yuki spends the entire hour-long process in the small private room with you. She doesn't leave the room even during the 15-minute setting times. The room was clean and cozy, complete with candles/decorations/ambiance music. Yuki was extremely gentle when brushing my lashes back on the foam rod and brushing the chemicals onto my lashes. She was careful not to put any chemical on my eyelid. I was happy with my results. My lashes were curled back and very natural looking. No side effects or irritation at all. The curl lasted about 1 1/2 months. I came here with a Lifebooker deal for $39 so it was a great deal. Too bad her regular price is $75 because I would never pay that much for an eyelash perm no matter how good it was. read more

I got eyelash perm, eyelash extension and also gel nails done by Sayaka. After getting the perm, eyelash was lifted perfectly, and lasted beautiful shape over a month. She is also doing eyelash extension. She is really talented to do detailed works. I personally prefer eyelash perm to eyelash extension because I don't need to care eyelashes when I wash my face. lol She is the BEST gel artist ever! Until I saw her, I had put charms and crystals on my nails, and had never tried hand paintings. But I saw many nail samples, and I was surprised at her hand painted skills. She draws every pattern precisely and my nails are always beautiful. I always get praised about my nails!! She is very charming person. I went to Curvy Lashes today, and I'm amazed of their work. First thing, they are very clean, you can notice it as soon as you arrive. The room is a bit small, but they don't have more than two costumers at time, and since the ambience is quiet, you feel like in a little spa! The person who worked with me was Yuki, she was delicate, and very detail oriented. When she finished in spite the work was great, she didn't mind to bend my eyelashes a little bit more, and she only ended when I was completely happy with the result. My eyelashes look curl and natural, giving the impression of a bigger eyes. For a few months I won't have to curl them, just mascara and ready! I defiantly recommend this place, and I defiantly will come back! PD: very reasonable prices. read more

I have to give a comment! This is my Go-to place in the city. I have done my eyelash extensions in more than 10+ stores in NYC. And oThey are the best! The lashes are super thin, light and good quality. And normally they can last for 3-5 weeks. Normally I barely write comment. But I was really impressed by the girls here. I have super sensitive eyes. Last time I told the girls that I had a little allergy of the strong glue they used, then I recommended a glue brand for them. They actually remembered the brand and tried to buy the glue for me! This is the only store in NYC that I can do my eyelashes without any allergy reaction! Great job guys! Xoxo read more

I recently got my lashes curled with Yuki. I set the appt last minute but she was very accommodating about it. She was very professional and meticulous. She did an excellent job with my eyelashes. This was my first time getting an eyelash perm so I didn't know what to expect. When they were done I didn't see what the fuss was about, but when I got home, I put on some mascara and they looked amazing! Also, now that they have grown out a little bit, they look very pretty and naturally curly. Saves me so much time from curling my eyelashes and they look so natural!! After I left the salon, I noticed that there was a little bit of glue stuck on one of my eyelashes. It came off easily. I just felt a little silly walking around NYC with glue stuck on my face. Yuki is a little pricey but she is totally worth it!! These are your eyelashes we are talking about...! If you are looking for a professional for eyelash perms, she's your go-to person! read more

It took almost an hr i believe. There was another girl getting hers done in the room as well. Overall I had a great experience and both ladies were soooo sweet and seemed happy to do their job. Lifebooker deal for $39--Eyelash perm and Crybaby Mascara application (semi permanent mascara) WHY SHOULD YOU DO THIS: First off. THIS IS A GREAT DEAL. Eyelash perms cut your morning routine in half if done correctly..but if done incorrectly will cause you some annoyance for a good couple of months. I should know. I followed some yelp reviews to some lash perming spots and had little faith left in the whole process. Until Yuki. THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN A GOOD LASH PERM: You really can't just go ANYWHERE for this. Chemicals are near your eyes for about 45 minutes and if you are one to value your sight take caution to less meticulous places. You need someone who has nimble hands and is not rushing, but also important is that esthetic eye for what looks good, ie the SHAPE your final perm will be (J shape, L shape, C shape...and also the spacing between lashes). One place I went to was terrible. They used a one size fits all roller (they basically put a tiny roller near your lid and clip the lashes backward onto the roller to perm it) and my lashes came out basically making a full circle which truncated the look of them and made applying mascara a NIGHTMARE (all the lashes went every which way which caused major clumpage issues) ATMOSPHERE: Curvy Lashes is in a very inconspicuous run-down building. The elevator appears to be broken, so I took the stairs and halfway up I heard the elevator finally arrive-so the thing works but you have to wait. If this were night time I might have been scared being in the building. The actual place was SUPER SMALL. You start to doubt whether you are doing the right thing going to such a small operation, but once Yuki took me into her room I felt instantly relaxed. Her room is small but clean. YUKI: Yuki herself has a great low-key demeanor. She instantly put me at ease. Doesn't talk too much, but she understands that we are basically helpless once she starts putting chemicals on our eyes. Much like going to the dentist, you cannot open or move your eyes once she starts which might be frightening to some. Whenever there is an extra noise or contraption she is using, she will gently give you a little notice (ie. Turning on the timer for 7 minutes could startle people when it rings) I definitely fell asleep during the procedure...she is very gentle. What I liked the MOST was that she did not seem to be in a rush and I was the only person on her schedule for that time slot. Nobody waiting in the waiting room (although I saw her schedule and it is jampacked lately due to this deal. Therefore it is VERY important for clients to be ON TIME). Felt 100% of her attention devoted to me. WHAT TO EXPECT: 1. Don't wear makeup to the appointment 2. Sign a waiver 3. Briefly discuss what shape you want 4. Lay down and relax while closing your eyes shut and let her work 5. She will show you a mirror with the final product of the perm 6. THEN she begins the Crybaby application. She took time to discuss that the lashes will feel stiffer. I have it on right now and it feels the same as mascara but actually less stiff. 7. Lay down and relax while she works 8. She will show you the final product 9. She will give you a HOME-CARE printout. Basically I had no idea what crybaby was. For most people it fades in 2 weeks or more, but some people opt to go in and get it taken off by Yuki after 2 weeks. Overall, I will return to Yuki. Finalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly found my lash perm spot in NY! THANK GOODNESS. read more

I've been coming here a while, for about two years. This review is not about the perm (which is acceptable but pricier than other places - I used to go somewhere cheaper I liked better but they hired people who were horible and you never knew if you'd end up with one of them) but the customer service. I have been a good customer. $70 eyelash perm plus tip is not cheap. However, today I had to canxel because there is no electricity on the entire L train, which was announced after I had been waiting almost an hour. There is no other close train and I can't afford a $30 cab ride into Manhattan, to say nothing of how I would get back home since fixing this will likely take hours. I called Yuki and apologized profusely for cancelling and explained the situation which is out of my control, and got yelled at. So on top of losing the money I already paid for the scheduled perm which I'm missing thanks to the MTA I get yelled at, by someone who knows me as a good customer and knows I had no control of this situation. That sort of behavior is unacceptable. Needless to say, I will never make an appointment here again. I'm taking my business elsewhere. UPDATE: I came back to update this review because Yuki actually wrote me a letter apologizing and refunded my money, both of which I much appreciate. I am still baffled at her behavior but it takes a big person to acknowledge they were in the wrong and that is much appreciated so I'm adding back a star. read more
