A few months ago, my microwave broke down. I immediately called Curtis on Central Park Avenue. Dino was my salesman from the beginning. He arranged to have all the condo board approval paperwork completed and finished by the time my microwave was to be installed. The installer was quite professional experienced and courteous.as well. It was over an installation dispute. My parents bought from Curtos. Since I purchased my current house many decades ago I only buy from Curtos. Several people recommended Curto's to me when I was shopping for a new refrigerator. I called and spoke to a sales person. Since space is tight, he suggested sending someone over to measure. The installer came to measure, and then quoted me $450 to install a new fridge and haul away the old one. This is much, much more than any other dealer charges. The sales guy called shortly thereafter to close the deal. I told him what had happened and I heard an audible gasp. He said he understood that $450 for installation was not reasonable. He said he would talk to the installer and get back to me. He never called back. I have purchased elsewhere. Installation is free, and hauling away the old appliance is $50. Beware, and verify the costs before you lay down your money. read more

Wanted to purchase a wood fire pizza oven and with everything that has happened, I found that the one I wanted was on back order, since they come from Italy, then I went to see the main man himself, Jonathan at Curtos, he also told me that the where all back ordered, he made a call to his distributor and later that day he called me back and found not only the oven I wanted but an upgrade to a better one, within a week it was delivered and setup. Given the circumstances since 2020, post delivery service became impossible. I found CURTOS and will never order online again. After a good start and sale in pandemic times of a double wall oven there was an extended series of problems stemming from 1) Curtos declining to do pre-inspection for the cabinet which I said I felt was not quite level, complete with photos of the issue, and 2) providing the oven with the incorrect installation kit. I used the Curtos Installer. After they damaged the fascia with the incorrect kit and it was not level (tilting forward) of course it was not a suitable install. 13 months and over 10 visits later including from Viking which was required to prove the incorrect install kit was used, and much time lost the install is corrected yes to level the cabinet and repair the damage done by the initial flawed install. But not without insistence and dealing with a very confrontational install team member (who was alternately praised and disavowed as 'independent' by Frank Curto). Likewise I heard apologies for the errors 4-6 months in followed by Curto's indignation during months 6-13 that I was stilll calling Frank to ask for the job to be completed as if it were somehow my fault. First and definitely last Curto's purchase for me perhaps it is was fluke I see some good reviews posted. To their credit they did see it through but it was a very bad experience for me. I have typically had pretty easy episodes with appliances, contractors, roofers, plumbers and so on I don't expect zero problems and respect the trades and their expertise. I am new to the area and was looking for a cart for a grill that I had on a built-in at my old house. I acknowledge this is not a huge purchase, but I thought I would give a local business a try. The salesman was helpful and told me the cart would be here in a week. After waiting two weeks I gave the store a call and was told they would look into it and get back to me. Didn't get that call back so I called again the next day and asked for someone to call me. The owner Jonathan called and told me that they had ordered the cart but it arrived at their warehouse damaged so they sent it back. He said they had done this twice more and all three times it arrived damaged so it was up to me if I wanted them to try again or take a refund. None of this is the store's fault, but when I expressed my frustration that no one from the store had called me to let me know about these issues and that my item was delayed and that I had to chase them down to get this update, Jonathan's got a little upset and took exception to me characterizing it that way. When I responded that his salesman had told me I would get the item in a week and now it had been two and a half, and that no one had called me, he blamed his salesman for promising that timeframe. I don't know what in his mind is a reasonable delivery estimate, but I lose a lot of respect for any business owner that blames his own employees and doesn't take accountability for a customer service failure. Being the recent buyer of a 90 year old house, I am certain I will have needs for appliances in the future, and Curto's won't be getting that business now. read more

I spent alot of time trying to purchase a gas range with no luck. When I finally was able to get one the delivery service never showed up- one more aggravation to add to a long list. Two people suggested Curtos. One call - lucky to get Al who found what I wanted, gave me the date I wanted and was a pro to deal with! The delivery time was set for 8 - 12. By 9 am they came, delivered and were gone. The delivery guys were also part of a great experience. Curto's will definitely be my 'go to' store from now on! read more

On November 19, 2020, I ordered a dishwasher from Curto's Appliances and Grills in Yonkers, NY. Even though I did not receive an invoice, I paid the full amount due when I ordered the dishwasher. I was informed by Patrick, my salesman, that I would need a COI in order to install the dishwasher and that he would contact my Management Agent for the full insurance requirements.. I did not hear back from Patrick for a few hours (even though I left a message for him). As "time was of the essence" for the installation, I contacted my insurance company and received the required COI, which I immediately emailed to Doreen, the Curto's Office Manager. Doreen confirmed that she received my email, however, my Management Agent informed them that they needed a COI from Curto's Insurance company and not the "generic" copy I had sent them. I requested Doreen email me a copy of the COI and a copy of the email she received from my Management Company, listing the requirements. She emailed me a copy of MY COI (which is not generic) and a partial invoice, which did not include installation. I called Doreen, she refused to send me a copy of the email my Management Agent sent her. She said there was a charge of $25.00 for Curto's to obtain their COI, WHICH WAS REQUIRED by my Management Agent. I asked Doreen to cancel my order and leave Patrick a message to call me. She confirmed she would do both. At approximately 4:00 PM, I called back and spoke with Doreen. I told her I wanted to speak with Patrick. She said Patrick was not in, but that she gave him my message to call me, and he inquired why? When she informed him of our conversation, she said Patrick did not want to speak with me. I then asked to speak with Jonathan, the owner. She said he was standing next to her when I called earlier, I said that, that was hard for me to believe. She said she never lies, wished me a Happy Thanksgiving and hung up. I would not recommend Curto's because they do not live up to their own motto "love (and listen to) your customer". read more

I wish you could give negative stars because this place doesn't even deserve 1 star. Not sure how this place is still in business or how they have a business license at all. They are very unethical and I would NEVER recommend anyone going there. My parents went to Curtos to get a new stove, they had a great selection and they were looking around when 1 of the salesmen pointed them to the low end area of the store. Strike 1 if I were there I would have made them leave on the spot. They stayed however and picked out a pricey stove and an extended warranty. This was right around Thanksgiving and they were told the stove wold be delivered about a week before Thanksgiving. The stove was delivered however they didn't send the proper connection to be able to hook up the oven. The stove and broiler worked but nothing from the oven. You can imagine that right before Thanksgiving not having an oven is a huge issue. So my parents tried to call to have someone come out to repair it ASAP, and they were able to get a repair man (from the parent company Electrolux, this wasn't some random repair from the internet) out but he couldn't fix it (he was there for almost 3 hours trying anything he could do to fix it) and said he has never seen anything like it and that it was a faulty/damaged appliance from the beginning. Ok that happens it's understandable. My dad went to the store to explain what the repair man said and wanted to start the process of returning/exchanging the stove. And that's when this place went down the toilet fast. The owner of the store was pretending to have a heart condition and said my dad was threatening him because he wanted to return a faulty appliance. My dad just looked at him and asked "how am I threatening you"? The owner said "because you're threatening to return the stove". He left and wasn't going to deal with this garbage from this guy. He then called the store to speak to the customer service rep. he was told that if they wanted to get any type of refund that they needed to come pick up the stove on Wed, the day before Thanksgiving! This would leave my parents with no stove top at all for the biggest cooking day of the year. My parents said absolutely not and were told good luck getting a full refund. Thank god my mom put this traction on her amex and called right away to explain the situation. Amex was great as usual and said if the store wouldn't honor their appliances and give a refund in full they would take care of it. So they came to taken away the stove and my mom called about the refund and was told they will give a refund but are holding back 20% for a restocking fee. I have never heard of a store charging for a restocking fee for a faulty appliance. So my mom said this is horrible and the lady said well go dispute the charges if need be. They do not care about their customers at all and are fine with selling inferior items, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

Curto's was the best customer experience in-store that I have had in a long time. I was getting my kitchen redone and this was the perfect fit. My salesperson, Al, was amazing! He took the time to explain the different options I had available WITHIN MY BUDGET. Al was up front, honest, personable, and did not try to pressure me into buying something I couldn't afford which I truly appreciated. I found exactly what I needed and wanted on my first visit and came back a few days later to purchase four items. Several days later Al even emailed me to advise me of rebates on my items. Who does that these days??? Such a nice and helpful touch. Since my kitchen remodel hadn't even started Curto's held delivery until I was ready which was a huge help. When the time came even their delivery company knocked it out of the park, to the point that I even called Curtos to let them know. Seriously I cannot say enough and I'm a very "particular" person. We purchased a hood, dishwasher and refrigerator from Curtos for our kitchen renovation. Janice was wonderful - she helped us make choices, responded to lots of questions, including checking with the manufacturer, and the price was comparable to bigger box stores but much better customer service. Our dishwasher had a dent in it when it was delivered. Janice was fabulous in dealing with this and within a week, we had a new replacement. We have typically bought appliances in the past from PC Richards or Best Buy, but we will only go to Curtos from now on. read more

Absolutely unethical business, I would caution doing business here. Jonathan is an absolute snake oil salesman who loves the sounds of his own voice. Complete windbag, just watch his Youtube videos. He offered me a Lynx grill by selling BELOW retail, which is a breach of his contract with Lynx (I have it all in writing) and when he found out I had a deal with a competing dealer who was throwing in a free cover he took the time to call Lynx and tattle on them to ruin the deal. The irony in what he did is incredible, and the fact he was dumb enough to put his own violating deal in writing speaks volumes about what you get with this company. Trust me when I tell you this company could care less about you, and if you can get Jonathan to stop talking about himself for 1 minute you might learn something about the product you came in for. I would recommend looking elsewhere, unethical, enemy centered business more worried about sandbagging their competitors than their customer looking to buy a grill. read more

I explained my situation to the salesman and in a quick minute on his laptop he showed me the refrigerator with the dimensions that I needed and at a very good cost. LIES and DECEIT I ordered a $1700 grill from Curtos. Upon delivery, I gave the man instruction via phone, to walk through my garage, out a door and place the grill on the deck. There are no stairs to climb, no railings to lift anything over. Just a few strides across the floor of the garage. My nanny opened the door for him and showed him exactly where it was that I wanted it. He argued with her, insisting it would not fit through the door and that he would have to measure. After finally agreeing to put it there and measure, he realized it would fit and put it where we all had asked. He was aggressive and beligerant with her, demanding $150 which included an additional $25 delivery fee for placing it on the deck. She felt uncomfortable as she was home alone with my daughter and our cleaning woman. Both women thought he was on something, judging by his aggressive and beligerant behavior. My nanny asked the man to wait while she called me, asking what to do and why he was speaking to her in that manner. She asked him to wait while she called. He then booked it to his car and peeled out of my driveway. I then called customer service who explained the fee was 125 DOLLARS, so this guy was not only rude to me and my nanny but now also pocketing an extra 25 dollars from the company and myself. I explained to the RUDE woman on customer service this situation. She told me she made up the excuse that he had to climb over railings to justify this $25 dollars. She screamed at me, told me she would write me a personal check for twenty five dollars and HUNG UP ON ME. I'm glad I spent 1700 on a grill only to be yelled at and bamboozled by an obviously incompetant duo of delivery man and service rep. SAVE YOUR MONEY and ENERGY and go elsewhere. ***UPDATE*** It turns out they won't in fact send me a check for $25. BUT they will give me a 25 dollar store credit. Extreme Customer Service The first week in December we went to Curto's to look at new appliances for our apartment remodel. We were fortunate enough to work with Al, he is knowledgeable and helpful without the used car salesman approach. We found what we wanted and paid for our order($,$$$). Three weeks later we were faced with a situation and had to suspend our renovation, now what to do about all the new appliances we bought? I spoke with Al, explained our situation and he understood. He spoke with the owner, Frank and called me back almost immediately. Al was pleasant in his demeanor, Curto's REFUNDED our entire payment. This was a costly transaction for Al, yet he never displayed any anger. As a result, when we proceed with the renovation, we are going back to Curto's and Al. Extreme Customer Service! read more

Back in August we came back from vacation and our washing machine had died, the rental home we had while on vacation had a Speed Queen, which we really liked. So we went to Curto's ( our go to spot for all of our appliances) and JANICE was a big help, she is very knowledgeable in all the machines and helped us decide on the Speed Queen that would fit our needs. We were told they were on back order and would have to wait at least a month. I placed an order with Jonathan Giannettino on 2/28 for a washer and dryer. I spoke with him via email and asked for the exact total for the items I purchased and the price of installation. According to his email the price was $1198.00 plus Tax in the amount of $100.38. He then explained I would need to pay the installer $125 in cash the day of installation. My delivery and installation was scheduled for 3/4. At which time the installer said I would need to pay $350 almost triple the price or finally quoted. I called the store and spoke with Doreen who offered no resolve instead began over talking me and yelling because I assume they don't value customers. I explained I had the emails from Jonathan when I finally got a word in and offered to forward them. Instead of allowing me to do so she insisted that he told me of the additional fees completely untrue and then said that a women named Maryann also verified the information with me. However I never spoke with a Maryann I only received a text to let me know when the installer would arrive. I requested a refund of my money at which time she said she would ask the accountant to look into it on Saturday, keep in mind my delivery was for Wednesday 3/5. When I asked to speak to Maryann, or a different manager Doreen hung up on me. Expecting someone to wait 3 days to begin a return on a non-banking day is absurd. What if someone was charged incorrectly would they also have to wait? This company is obviously not interested in being true to their price quotes or customer service. read more

But the true strength of Curto's is its customer service. When a defective washer was delivered to our home, Doreen immediately got on the phone with the manufacturer and worked to get us a replacement in a timely manner. My husband and I were shopping for a new dishwasher, and decided to check out Curto's. We walked in, and found a unit we were interested in. After 10 minutes of walking around, nobody acknowledged us. Unprompted, one of the sales ladies walked by and said "all of us are with someone, enjoy the showroom." I thought that was rude, as I took that as, "we're not going to help you at all." After another 5 minutes, we just left. They claim to have the #1 customer satisfaction. A year ago while looking for new appliances, I made the decision to avoid the big box store and decided to go to Curtos. While we were in the buying process, the sales staff was very warm and friendly. 10 months later, the wheels feel off and Curto's was unable to help. The dishwasher I purchased from them stopped working. When I called Curtos to inquire about the extended warranty that I purchased from them, Curtos told me to call the manufacturer (GE). Unfortunately, GE was unwilling to come to my apartment and fix the machine. I thought that buying from a small business like Curto's, I could get some help. Unfortunately, Curtos has be unable to help me. I spoke with members of the Curtos team but they claim that there is nothing that they can do. They claim to talk to their GE rep, but nothing ever gets done. I bought a faulty product from Curto's, I even bought an extended warranty from them and for the past two months I have been unable to use my dishwasher. Going through Curto's did not provide me the customer care after the sale that I was hoping for. I now believe that I would have been better off driving up 87 and buying appliances from Home Depot. I wanted to believe that Curto's would treat me like a valued customer, but I was gravely mistaken. read more

Curto's was not one of our better experiences in redoing our kitchen. The salesman Ron could talk your head off, the appliances he showed us were some of the most expensive in the store, and he steered us to a refrigerator that I didnt know had the worst repair record. Their policy is you pay upfront, and then the appliances are brought to the warehouse. Never had that before, always down payment, remainder paid at delivery. Okay, we changed our refrigerator while we still could, before it was moved to the warehouse without the penalty. And then came time for delivery. Wait, not all at once. Some appliances were "back ordered" and we had already paid for them. Then we were told one small part was not available. Do you think they could have mailed it? Not Curto's. Just bought a compact washer and couldn't be happier with the service. Went up to Yonkers from the city because of a recommendation from a friend. The sales service was pleasant and efficient and the price for the same item was less than the big stores in the city. Slight problem with delivery, but once again customer service came through and rescheduled. The delivery service was then perfect; guys were able to get machine in a very small area, threw away boxed and even sweep area. This place is quality all the way. We purchased a washer/ dryer unit at a great price but after installation there was a defect with the exterior of the unit heating up more then it should have. In fact it caused a burn to my wife because of the malfunction. I spoke with Frank the owner after it happened. Most stores policy is to not accept returns on appliances after they are installed. Not only did Frank replace the items he took the time to have the proper w/d for the space ordered. IN addition he was able to have the installer provide me with a discount to the second shipment. Their prices are market leading and their service is top notch. I will be working with them for the foreseeable future. read more

I can't say enough about how fantastic it was to work with Al at Curtos. I have purchased appliances from Curtos over the span of the last 20 years. Last week our dishwasher broke, and I was unable to get to the store. I called Al, he suggested a model and within days the dishwasher was delivered and installed. The plumber who installed it arrived exactly as scheduled and was incredibly helpful and friendly. I am a decorator and purchase a lot of appliances for clients in Los Angeles, so when I had to buy a new refrigerator for my mother here in Westchester, I needed to work with someone new. Her appliance service man who is amazing (Monte's Appliance Repair) told me to go to Curto's. ("If you want appliances, go to an appliance store") I had the measurements of the space and Al very patiently researched all the options for what we needed. It turned out there was only one. He really tried to see if there was another option...going through more than one data base with numerous inputs to see if we could have another option. He was kind, patient and knowledgeable. He didn't offer any wild suggestions that would have been more expensive and he gave me a great price. I appreciated that. And he got the delivery and installation coordinated for me. I call that great service. I do hope all goes well tomorrow. If not, I will add to the review. But, so far, Al and Curto's are great. read more
