    Spring Masala Dosa
    Nishi S.

Being an Indian I don't think the taste of food was good, I think they Americanized the food so much that it became so bland. I didn't like the dosa or sambhar, regretted that without knowing I had asked for a to go masala dosa. Service was very very slow. If you are looking for authentic Indian food this is not the place unfortunately. Traveler from Charlotte and I am disappointed

Amazing!!! My coworkers and I came here for a Friday lunch and we're so pleased with the food. Everything was so tasty and fresh! We of course went for their lunch buffet which they do on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for $12.99 right now. The butter chicken and naan were on point. I tried a lot of Indian dishes that I had never even heard of it before and I don't have a complaint about any of it. Super filling and it's a great bang for your buck. The "servers" were super quick to refill our waters and you walk up to the counter to pay your bill when finished. We will definitely be coming back as we already decided this place will be in our regular Friday lunch rotation.

On our way back from the Tulip festival in Holland. We were tired and it was late in the evening. Kids were hungry and sleepy so we wanted to get some Indian food for the kids, before we start our drive back to Detroit. We found that this place had Dosa's on their menu. When we went in it was quite busy. We were a party of 5 (2 kids) and almost all of us ordered some type of Dosa and a Bissibelibhath (Curry Rice) Most everything was hot/spicy, even for us being used to spicy food more than an average Indian family. I think there is some opportunities for improvement on the service, taste and the ambience. But this place has a great potential and the team had the right attitude to take this place to the next level of being one of our regular spots when we are in the Grand Rapids Area.

I went here with a group from work. Maybe I didn't order the right thing? I got the tandoori chicken as I was intrigued by the idea of a clay oven. I ordered mild and it came out a little spicy (luckily I don't mind spice). The dish came out and the chicken was a handful of bone-in pieces with a small amount of sliced onions and cabbage strips along with a bowl of fluffy white rice. We also had garlic naan - delicious, by the way. The majority of the table ordered chicken tikka masala at various heat levels and they cleared their plates/bowls. If I go again, I'll for sure try that.

The food here is absolutely amazing; it never disappoints. I must say that their mango masses is by far the BEST I've tried. Their customer service is always amazing, whether it's over the phone or in person. I was lucky to be greeted today by a Kavita, who was so kind and helpful. The atmosphere is very welcoming and clean.

I've been meaning to try this place forever, and finally did with a big group of friends a few weeks ago. Our server was very friendly and food came out pretty quickly. A few of us split a couple dishes, including the lamb pasantha, goat korma, and ennai kathirikai (eggplant dish from Tamil Nadu). We went for a mild-moderate heat since my cousin doesn't eat spicy food, but I definitely want to try hot next time! I was worried the dishes might be too small, but we ended up having plenty of leftovers. The naan wasn't the best I've ever had, but the jalapeño chicken fry was a unique and tasty appetizer, and the dynamite cauliflower was a crowd favorite due to the sauce and seasoning--highly recommend getting this. Make sure to order a mango lassi with your meal!

Still my favorite Indian restaurant in GR. I've been eating here for the past 4 years and have loved it every time! I usually stop by just for the buffet but it's only available on the weekend. My favorites are the chicken briyani, tandoori chicken, and egg curry. Those are just my favorites though, I love everything they offer!! If you visit during the week and order off the menu, there are different spice levels and countless options of dishes. Many vegetarian options as well! Plenty of parking available in the lot next to the restaurant. Most seating is booth seating.

This is one of the better Indian restaurants in GR, with reasonably nice ambiance and service. The dosa(sour dough crepe) that we ordered was perfectly prepared and so were the chutneys(dips) that came with it. And then there's this little known "indo-chinese" aka "Desi Chinese" cuisine which is essentially chinese food made with indian spices and style. It is widely available in India as street food but only few places in US make it right. This is one of those places thankfully! Try the Hakka noodles if you're curious and you'll know exactly what i mean!

Do you still offer the buffet? And what days/times?

I don't think they have brought back their buffet yet.

What time of the day is the buffet available?

Weekends only, 12-3 (they stop new customers at 2:45). This answer is valid as of January 2023.

When is the buffet? Do they do it on the weekend?

Buffet is available on every day

How much is the Buffet lunch?

I think it’s $10 on weekdays. I just ate there a few days ago, and the food was amazing!

Madras Indian Grill was suggested and everyone seemed excited as most of us hadn't been there before and we were craving Indian food. The restaurant is pretty large and we were one of a few parties dining in. The menu is huge, with lots of great options for vegetarians, but be careful if you have a nut allergy as many items have cashews and/or almonds. Our friend was directed to the chicken vindaloo which doesn't have cashews. I like that they also feature south Indian items as well as Indo-Chinese dishes. They also have non-alcoholic drinks and desserts. We started with two orders of the veggie samosas, which were excellent. I find that sometimes samosas can be dry, but not these! The mint and tamarind sauces were flavorful and tasty. I'd get these every time. For my entree, I got the palak paneer and also the chicken hakka noodles, as I've never had them before. We also got two orders of garlic naan and an order of paratha. Our food came out pretty quickly and everything was so good. I loved the flavors of the palak paneer (although it was not spicy at all -- I ordered it "American medium spicy") and the textures of the hakka noodles. I couldn't believe the portion sizes in relation to price -- the entrees were all around $12-$14 and were generous portions as we all had leftovers. Our server was kind of roasting us for our orders (telling us the butter chicken was bad and we should order something else, commenting on our spice level preferences, etc.). They have a lunch buffet Friday-Sunday that I really want to check out (they said the menu rotates for that and you can find the items on their social media), but otherwise I think this will be a good takeout spot for me. It took quite a bit of time for us to get our checks and to-go containers. But I'm so glad I got to try this food and I'll be eating my way through the menu!

Ive probably been 5 times now and each time their has been a funky, chemical like smell in the restaurant. The employees are also not the friendliest. I usually get takeout and when I do ive had to wait up to 30 minutes past the time that I chose for pick up, if the food isnt going to be ready until 5:30 dont tell me I can pick it up at 5. But... with all that being said the food has been really good. I usually get butter chicken from them. The chicken is well seasoned, the gravy is thick and seasoned heavily. Its not the best Butter Chicken I've ever had but for Michigan its pretty darn good. They give you a healthy amount of rice, but its not the best rice I've tried. Their naan is better then most ive tried around the GR area, soft and pillowy. The food is about a 4 but the service and ambiance are closer to 2.

I put in an online lunch order for these as well as ras malai, and chicken kadhai and chicken fried rice for my husband (the menu noted it's their specialty). The restaurant called as my husband was pulling in and they were out of my two appetizers and the kheer dessert (my whole meal). We didn't want to cancel on them so I figured I would share his. The kadhai was very good -the meat was tender and the sauce was delish. The portion, for the price, was a bit steep. Maybe a scant cup of meat, a cup of sauce, and a cup and a half of rice for $15 -no sides or bread. The chicken fried rice wasn't great. Salt helped, but it was maybe a 5/10. The ras malai was really, really off-putting. I worried at one point that the balls were actually styrofoam and not food. Further, they were not in a cardamom condensed milk -they were in plain sugar syrup and they were definitely not cottage cheese patties. I checked against the website to ensure they didn't prepare them a different way -I think, perhaps, they were out of that item as well and threw a few things together. It was, really, really bad. I would probably not try again -from being out of half our food to us only liking one item, too costly and too much of a risk.
