Been getting take out 2/3 times a month from here since they opened. And it never occurred that I…read moreshould review them. Until tonight that is , when I went to dine in with a couple friends. If you walk into a place on a Wednesday night, and all the tables are taken, that's a sign. You walk in and it smells incredible, that's a sign. You see people laughing and chatting while partaking from varied dishes, then that's a sign! We ordered the Naga special chicken curry, the brinjal curry and the shrimp mango curry( that comes with rice), and roti and naan. Portions are ample , place is clean and service is satisfactory. Our sever Gopal took care of us in a timely and friendly fashion. The food itself, I mean , the flavors are all there. Each dish tastes unique and you get a sense you are eating out. No home style simple cooking here, the spices are intense and each dish has a bite. Isn't that why you go out to eat? Prices are really good, if you consider what other places charge for entrees. And everything comes out piping hot and fresh. So don't wait till the weekend to try it out, go today!

Shout out to my Yelp bud, Sid, for the recommendation! Went with my dad who enjoys Indian food…read more The SERVICE is spectacular. Never quite experienced an Indian restaurant with so much attentiveness and kindness. Server kept asking how our food is and if everything is alright :) We ORDERED the special goat curry, butter naan and butter roti (we went to another restaurant before this haha). I appreciate how descriptive their MENU is as they do list the ingredients. The goat was tender, juicy and delicious. Server warned us that medium is super spicy so we went with mild which we did not think it was spicy at all. Naan and roti were good. Roti is a bit more dry than the naan. Would order the naan again. VIBEZ: Lots of take out orders. Lots of different cultures and ages dining in. Love the modern and clean decor. Located in a plaza with tight parking. Would I come back? Yes! Why the 4 stars? I wish they'd leave a tray of napkins on the table instead of the need to repeatedly ask for more napkins (because some of us/some cultures can't stand the oiliness on their hands...). I also wish there was more variety on their menu especially regarding the veggie curries... what happened to palak paneer? :( ...also found it to be strange that their online menu was different especially regarding the apps portion. Plus I always order rice and when I saw multiple tables ordering rice, it was just a bowl of white basmati rice...wished they'd flavor it like multiple other establishments.

The Thattu Idli is still very good -- soft, consistent, and honestly one of the best I've had in Fremont/Newark. The three varieties of chutney are usually a plus, and this idli is the main reason I keep coming back. Unfortunately, apart from the idli, everything else was quite disappointing compared to how it used to be. The sambar was extremely watery with very little flavor, the vada tasted frozen, and the rasam felt like plain tamarind water. The chutneys were served straight from the refrigerator, very cold. At the very least, they could have been brought to room temperature, which is how most restaurants usually serve chutney for dine-in. We didn't complain at the restaurant because dishes like sambar and rasam can't really be fixed instantly, even if they are replaced. We also noticed that another couple dining there was complaining about the taste, which confirmed that we weren't the only ones feeling this way. The Kothu Parotta didn't taste authentic -- it felt more like chilli parotta and wasn't done well. This experience was especially disappointing because we used to order from this restaurant quite often last year through DoorDash when my in-laws were visiting from India, and they absolutely loved the food. Earlier this year as well, we continued ordering, but over time the quality seemed to go down, so we stopped. That's why I really wanted to dine in again -- mainly for the Thattu Idli, which I still truly enjoy. From what I've read in other reviews, this appears to be a Gen Z, woman-led business. I genuinely want to support women-owned businesses, so I will definitely come back again and hope to see the food quality return to its original standard, especially the sambar, chutney, and rasam. I really hope Dosa Express takes this feedback in the right spirit and works on improving the taste, because this place used to be one of our favorites and has so much potential.

If you want the original street style Pav Bhaji experience go here…read more. i absolutely love going here, a little pricier but I'd say worth it. We go for the spicy one but, regular for kids..& my kids love it too! Introduction of Vada Pav was for sure a hit.. usually go for the Szechwan one but the chura that comes with it is amazing. Great set up with city names from India & some pictures.. casual vibes! We've also got a catering order for a birthday party.. timely & great with packaging and handwritten notes thanking for the order were much appreciated. Almost all the guests older and younger asked about the Pav bhaji being so good.. Recently, placed a doordash order but it seemed that one Vada pav of the two was missing. I called the owner who promptly said that he'll reimburse me with a coupon for next time. He went above and beyond with checking his camera footage & identified the danger May have tampered. He even blocked him from taking orders from the restaurant & even reported him. 100% professional & great business ethics, props to the owner!

It is a very small shop in a plaza. 1 They are on the higher price end,$2/samosa. most items are $12-$15 each but the amount is small enough to fit into little brown to go containers. 2. Many customers were here to get to go. Another (Indian woman) and I ( non-Indian) woman was here to get togo and we end up waiting at the tables for time to pass. They gave the woman a cup of tea, but nothing for me. which struck me as uncomfortable and awkward 3.They do not accept credit card( most likely due to possible avoiding taxes/fees), despite the exorbant pricing of the items itself. I had no idea until I was at the cash register. They either took cash or Zelle. 4. My momo tasted fine, with a decent amount given to me, BUT the skin was not fully cooked,so I had to recook it at home, I was lucky that i bought take out. 5 My tikki masala Paneer was literally mostly salty curry soup with 5-6 peices of paneer, it was so scarce that it looked like it there was almost no paneer left, the item should be labeled ( tikki masala) that's it since there is barely any panneer in there. Lastly, since you do not take credit card, your items prices are much higher than places such as Chaat Bhavan, etc. The tikki masala was very salty with sparse paneer peices, please do not be cheap with your customers, and make sure to fully cook your food. This is one of the honest reviews with photos for this place. Thank you.
