First, they came out the same day I called. Second, instead of having to replace the whole mechanical box he figured out a way around it and fixed it. Third, because he didn't replace the box the charge was only for the visit and nothing else. Forth, they were willing to bill me instead of demanding payment immediately. The Liftmaster unit at my father's rental property has seen its better days since 2005 as well as the garage door and railing. Used Curry Bros when my mom's $100 Genie Opener stopped working back in 2015. That's when Curry Bros told us you are getting the Liftmaster which is an extremely great brand to use. The only honest garage door company in Los Angeles? Given the terrible experiences I've had recently with "bandit" operators who misrepresent themselves and take advantage of people, maybe so. I had one company last year who I called when I couldn't get our almost new door closed late at night who vastly overcharged me to replace the springs, which he claimed were broken. Thankfully I kept the old springs, which it turns out (shocker!) are totally fine. Lesson learned -- if I can't get ahold of Curry Bros after hours, only pay for another company to get the door closed, and wait for the real pros to take care of business in a professional & honest manner. read more

I would like to give a business the benefit of the doubt. I cannot recommend them after the frustrating experience I had. The tech did not arrive on the day that was scheduled due to a 'location' error on the dispatch person. The tech did arrive on the rescheduled day and stated after doing an estimate that I would be contacted on the price and availability of parts. After 3 business days of no call back, I reached out to them and was offered a complete replacement or a repair. I opted for the repair and scheduled to have them do the work 2 days later. Took the day off to meet with the service tech and he never showed. Called and left 2 messages because every call I made went right to voice mail. It has been over a week and I have still not heard from them... guess they didn't want to do the job. read more

Our garage door was installed by Curry in 2002. It has functioned perfectly for 20 years. Finally the Liftmaster opener failed. I called Curry and the next day they sent Martin, the finest technician I have ever met. Martin came assessed the problem and told me I needed a new Liftmaster, springs, etc. Martin returned the next day and did the entire repair and installation. The most friendly and competent technician I've ever met. This is why we use Curry, they stand by their work and have outstanding service. Responded quickly. Arrived promptly. We called Curry Bros out for routine maintenance since we hadn't had our three garage door checked since we had moved in. At our other home we scheduled our garage door maintenance every year. When Curry Brothers arrived I pointed out that the bottom of one door had a gap between the garage door and the flooring, which when it rained let water into the garage. We had thought that the cement had sunk or maybe needed new weather stripping. We were Wong on both counts. The toggle bolts had actually come loose and the rail was hanging on by a thread. Curry Bros replaced the bolts and then secured all the bolts on each garage door. The moral of the story is... have your garage doors serviced yearly. We're lucky that we called when we did. If we hadn't the door would have surly fallen off the rails and cost us so much more that just a maintenance fee! Call Curry Bros today, you'll be happy you did! read more

The gentleman came over and measured our garage door and said he would get back to me with an estimate on how much it would cost to replace it. Our interaction was actually pleasant and it sounded like a straightforward job for him without any gotchas. Well, after several days of silence and me leaving them multiple detailed voicemails to follow up, they didn't even bother calling back. They follow one of those business models where you can never speak directly to the technician, only the secretary or manager who has to handle everything for them. It's disappointing to have wasted my time with the technician. I highly doubt they're so busy that they can't even call back. Even if they are overbooked or for whatever reason not interested in taking on the job, I'd much rather prefer honesty and at least having the decency to let us know versus the irresponsible route they decided to take. read more

I stay in a townhouse where I have no choice to pick and choose who comes to fix our garage. Sierra Management handles that part as I was at work I got a notification on my ring camera so I started watching for a bit when I notice that one tech and my wife leave the garage and the helper starts going thru my tools and stuff so I rushed home asked they guy what he was looking for and he got on the defensive side and that's when the argument happen and they didn't want to finish my garage anymore. I called there office spoke to Patricia and she was no help at all she just kept protecting her employees and saying they would never do that. Yet I have him on camera red handed. I don't have a choice who comes but if you guys do make sure is not this company till this day I haven't receive a call apologizing or anything. Curry Brothers installed the steel panel garage doors with remote openers at the condo complex where I live. In the 15 years since then, I have called them 3 times for service - once to repair / service the remote control garage door opener; another time to repair my garage door after someone backed into it with their car, denting it and leaving it unable to open / close and a third time when the exterior molding surrounding the garage door came loose and began to sag.. Each time, they were responsive, on time, repaired my garage door or fixed the issue, they were affordable and in the case of the dented garage door and sagging molding, they billed my HOA because the exterior garage doors are HOA responsibility. Used them for my personal garage door, custom designed and fabricated, years ago and was happy with the process, installation and final product, and it's performed well for 9 years or so now. So pleased as far as that goes...but now... I recently inquired with them about making two doors, custom designed (so not inexpensive) for a client and I simply can not get a bid from them...not sure what's happened over there but it's torture trying to get a bid out of Patricia. I reached out to my fb friends. One friend recommended Curry Bros. for our garage door issue. I called...spoke to Patricia...got a quote with a quick appointment. Two gentleman showed on time wearing masks. Jose and the other gentleman accessed the problem and had the door working in fifteen minutes! Got some advice on keeping the door oiled to keep it in good working order. The estimate was reduced by Jose since the job was smaller than anticipated. Fairness overload!!! We have used Curry Brothers in the past when we purchased new automatic garage door opener replacements. They were very helpful, knowledgeable and had good prices. Recently, I thought my screw carriage had broken and called them for a repair. Patricia answered the telephone and was very courteous and helpful. Their repairman, Martin (pronounced Mar-teen), came out and showed me that not only had my screw carriage broken, but the large lift spring had broken, too! This was on a Saturday. He said that he needed to check to see whether this spring was in stock and said he would call back Monday morning. Martin did call on Monday morning, as promised. He had located the spring replacement. He spoke to my wife, came out, installed both the spring (no small job) and the screw carriage, adjusted all mechanisms and rollers, and lubricated the entire assembly. All of this for less than $300. Martin is a great representative of Curry Bros., and I recommend them both to all of you, without reservation. They are simply the best. Greg Husebye read more

I had Curry Bros replace my doors a couple of years ago, and it was a mess. It took months to get the doors in place because of manufacture problems, and the end product is terrible. In onlt two years the doors need to be refinnished. I would never use these guys again. read more

I asked for an invoice that took way too long after an inspection. Also they tried to rip me off with an invoice of $1300 saying that I needed to fix other parts of the garage. I went with Genesis Garage Mechanics and they helped me quickly and efficiently. GGM even offered to fix it on the day that I called. When GGM offered to fix my garage for $465-565 I took the offer without even responding back to the ridiculous $1300 invoice. Btw Patricia is inefficient, I had to ask for an invoice three times before receiving one. Oh and she always forgets to get my name and email. read more

Great service, high quality installation. I'd recommend them over any TV/Radio garage door installer. I started out with a quote from a more well known (TV advertising-Mesa Garage) company and once I paid a deposit, customer service went out the window. I called Curry and got a quote the same day, high quality installation a couple days later. The other guys were going to charge me more, with a conventional opener (overhead) and it was going to take weeks till they could get an installer out. I had questions for Mesa I needed answered (electrical) and spent 20 minutes on hold, left a message and never got a call back. The installer from Curry was fast, did great work and managed to put my "Wall Mount" motor in a space the looks clean and is completely hidden. The door is super quiet and the insulated panels look great. I got a way better deal than anywhere else I looked and got more door for the money. I'm a garage guy (bikes, cars, boats, etc) and spend a considerable amount of time in the garage (finished walls, lighting, coated floor). So a quality door is important to me. Don't even bother with the other guys. I'm totally happy with my door, super quiet and looks great. Love the electric deadbolt and outside keypad too. Next house I buy, Curry will be my first call. read more

At first they seemed helpful and together when I needed my garage doors replaced. They said they would provide me with a proposal after they came out. They came out and did the research but then never provided the proposal. After several calls to them they continued to tell me that they would send the proposal. They made excuse after excuse why I did not receive it. After 2 months, I gave them another call and still no response or proposal. This was for a big job too! I am not sure if they are totally incapable or clueless. Overall they are a joke. Not to be harsh but they stunk and wasted my time. There are many other better companies than this one. read more

I used Curry Bros many years ago many times and called them today as my garage door opened with both the remote and door button but would not close with my remote and using the button in garage you had to hold it down. Rather than them immediately trying to make a house call the woman I spoke to told me to try a few different things and guess what it worked. They are the most honest, reliable company. We have used Curry Bros since we moved into our home 16 years ago. They apparently did the original installation of the garage door & opener, so we got their name from the sticker they applied to the opener. They have repaired the springs and other small items a few times in the past. Last week, the original opener finally called it quits - I called Curry Bros and they came out next day & replaced and installed a new opener for a fair price. This company is terrible!!! They installed a garage door at my home. I've had them out 3 times to fix it because it won't open on random occasions. THIS MORNING THE DOOR CAME CRASHING DOWN FROM THE RAILS AND NEARLY KILLED SOMEONE. It fell just 1 foot from a $100,000 classic car. AVOID THIS COMPANY at all costs. When I called to explain what happend, the owner CARY said "What part of I don't have anyone to help you don't you understand?". He than said "Hope you have insurance".
