WoW!!! I called this genuine gentleman Jeff, and I asked him about my garage door not opening, and I also asked him how much it is for new Springs. I'm not an expert, I had a previous company give us an insanely cost of 5 times the amount, and they took advantage of our kindness. This other company tried to bait and switch my wife for more money when I was at work, from $1200 to an additional $300 more, so ridiculous! Jeff installed my new garage door opener yesterday and I am thrilled. Why? He was professional, courteous, and extremely helpful. He was also friendly as an extra added bonus! Jeff was very patient in answering all my questions thoroughly. I asked him if he would program my car "button" and he had no problem doing so. I wanted an external keypad and he was able to do that in addition to the normal installation. I had a couple of items in the way of Jeff being able to get to my existing opener easily and he offered to move them for me. I'm a disabled senior citizen and this meant the world to me. Based on the Yelp ratings I called Jeff yesterday to fix the opener on my 3rd car garage. He answered my call and came by my house within 90 minutes. Jeff explained that the opener was probably made around 1980 which means it could have been the original one for that door. He took the covers off and showed me that the teeth were pretty much stripped off the plastic gear inside. At this point he could have sold me an expensive new opener but instead he explained a workaround that wouldn't cost anything. He also showed me where to spray WD40 on my springs and rollers annually to prolong their life. What a breath of fresh air! An honest tradesman who wasn't going to gouge me. When I asked him how much I owed him for the service call he said nothing! I persisted and gave him cash for his time anyhow. Closing thoughts: Very impressed with Jeff's knowledge about garage doors and openers and his honesty. Two garage door companies said it was not repairable. Our real estate agent suggested Jeff. He came out and replaced the beam and straightened the panel for a very reasonable amount. Saving us hundreds of dollars on a new door. Today I had him out because I thought the rollers were worn and needed replacing. He inspected them and said they were fine. I then suggested he service the door since he was here. He said everything was fine just spray some WD 40 in a few spots. He said why pay him for what I can do? He was already in the area.
