I found a vehicle in the used car lot I wanted. I reached out and after a coupke days of waiting I had to call back because nobody was calling me. I was connected to Jacob (remember that name ans avoid at all costs), the used car salesman. I explained to Jacob I lived 5hrs away and wanted to see a detailed option list. I clearly explained im 5hrs away and I needed to see it before I made the drive. I asked several times what was the paint like? Any dents or deep scratches? Accidents? Was told NOPE its his bosses car and in very good shape. I kept asking the above questions to no avail. Against my better judgement I rented a car and took a day off work. I finally get there and first glance car looks good. A walk around in the SUN (car looked ok wet and in the shade of course) clearly shows many issues. The front fascia was ran Into something. I dont mean a little, I mean a lot!!! Its had HUGE DEEP gouges on the pass side and the top edge of the fascia didnt match the hood and the drivers side headlight housing looked much newer than the other. It looked like chit! Now to the paint. Id accept normal wear and tear but this was clearly a crappy attempt at covering up a previous accident. The drivers door had stains in the paint all over and the paint blends looked very obvious. Someone even used scotch brite or sandpaper to sand a couple spots! It was a huge mess. I think the guys from the "gee boss is always wanted to fun a transmission" commercial did the repair. The back of the drivers door has a crease from where the door was pushed back and the rear door was opened, putting a kink in the metal. I'm pointing all this out while I'm being told "well its a used car", "well its just in the clear coat" and being explained to how I can fix it, I took a day off of work, rented a car and drove 5 hrs each way to see a car very misrepresented. I was lied to by Jacob about nearly everything about the car and I never did get that option list. read more

It took a GMC to have a check engine light for overheating (the truck was not overheating), and an airbag recall was performed. We received a diagnostic charge for the visit. Curry addressed three of the five items, and the Airbag recall was completed. The price for the items was not bad. However, when picking up the truck, the airbag light was still on after the recall was performed. Upon returning the truck to service, Curry found the sensor was malfunctioning on one side. They wanted to charge another diagnostic charge, noting that we had not specified the airbag light. Curry said this is another tech, and he must also get paid. I explained that if I received an item with a warning light and repaired part of that system and the light was still on, I would wonder if I had completed the repair correctly. My argument did not matter. The service department did this without my asking, forwarding me to a manager. I greatly appreciate your addressing my concern without me having to elevate it. I did say I would pay the $135 (not a considerable amount) and recall this as I look to do future business. The manager came back on the phone and said that he would cover it, and it may not matter when it comes to future business. I appreciate their gesture and their handling of the fee. I know Curry's reputation and the excellent service they usually provide. This situation confused me. I have not taken my Mercedes or Gladiator to Curry; however, I wonder if this was because my son brought his truck and not because I was walking in to have a repair. Please understand that if I am clear, you must clarify the diagnostic you wish to have done, and you will be charged for each test. Also, if you have a recall and do not specify the light associated with the recall, they will not check the reason for the light and still place it as completed or repaired. (I would wonder if the recall was done correctly if the light was still on). I am shocked by this approach and pleased that Curry did not hold my son responsible for the cost. read more

As I know it is their business to sell and make money but it comes a point when you draw a line. Looking at a used truck and since I'm some distance away I asked for photos of the undercarriage. I explained that I currently have this same model and the frame was rusted and this is common in this truck. I was also not close to the dealership and would like photos before make a 3 hours drive. First they sent me photos from the side of the truck showing very little of the undercarriage. I asked again and I Was told they couldn't take any photos of the undercarriage. I then I told them I knew they had a lift and that is when they said they would once they knew I would come up. Then I was informed of the major items on the truck that didn't work that was of course not listed in their add. These items would make selling the truck much harder. Then the Kelly Blue Book value of this truck was listed between $5,000 and $2,500 under their price not counting for the AC and ABS not working. When I told them I the price I would be close to as I would have to spend a couple of thousand dollars just to get it to the value of KBB they said couldn't do a 70% discount on the truck. The truck that is very overpriced and is 25 years old. Newer models are being listed for thousands under the price they have and all the items worked. I just like this truck but the sales people first don't want to do any work to make a sell (take some photos), and how much profit do you need on a 25 year old truck that might look good from the outside but when major items are not working and you don't want to even spend the time to let your own service department fix them and just hope that someone won't mind not having AC and anit-lock brakes working and still pay a price that is beyond the trucks value with them working. read more

I have scheduled services twice since moving to Bloomington with Curry. Both events had issues with services being accomplished as scheduled. The first was a simple oil change (which I waited). I was informed that my car could not be worked on do rack availability. It took two days. The second was scheduled a week in advance, and once again I was informed that my service would take another day. Needless to say, I pick my car up without being serviced and I will not be back. read more

The estimated pickup time was November at first, then it was delayed to December, today is January 20, and the repair is still ongoing. No efficient communication at all, I asked the estimator to do a transmission diagnosis 3 months ago, because I received several alarms from my Cadillac App, but never heard any response back about it. My estimator promised to give me a call when they move to the next step, but I never received a callback. One week ago they said they found additional issues, I understand additional damage could happen, but the wrong materials were sent to the shop twice. The service department closed due to power outages, and no one called/contact me to notify me in advance my car would not be available. So, now I am without a vehicle and no way of making my appt. that I have been waiting for 6 weeks to be able to see. I understand emergencies happen, but there is no reason they didn't contact me as I clearly communicated that the car MUST be available for pickup on the 26th. read more

Today was the first time I found something I liked that was in my price range at Curry. I've been through a number of cars in the past, and they were just never on my radar. After today's experience, I'm a fan! I had an old Kia that was NOT a good ride. I had a few bucks in the bank and was going to pay the difference in cash. The sales person I worked with came up with a fair number, and laid everything out letting me know that the total was all inclusive. WOW! I never had anyone at Royal do anything like that. Any other dealer I went to seemed to find a way to make the total creep higher and higher. The lady that helped me today kept things simple and straightforward. Friendly and low pressure. She said they weren't on commission, but at the back end they worked pretty hard to sell some extra warranty insurance. If I could afford it I probably would have gotten it, but it was just out of my budget. It was nice to see that they had terms that went 5 years or more for some things. Of the 3 dealers in town, Royal, Curry, and Community, Curry is definitely one to check out. Royal is one to stay away from. Do what you want at Community. I haven't been there since they were Bloomington Ford/Kia. read more

I have an electric car and am currently stuck in Crane, IN without a charger and called before driving there, I let a sales guy know I am stranded and have no other options, but he said it is ONLY for customers. Absolutely rude and inconsiderate, I would never let anyone I know buy anything from this place, so heartless. Someone should have this charger removed from all sites or tell their employees to have some decency in an emergency. Wow! read more

Friday Sept 20th, 2024. My daughter purchased her first vehicle. A 2021 Chevy Trailblazer. She absolutely loves it. Very nice car. Runs well and gets great gas mileage. Now the bad. During her time with financing she was given options. Before she had arrived I told her do not buy any packages. Her goal was to stay around $300 a month on the car priced at $18,800. She came out financing over $25,000 and with a payment now at $406 a month. She wasn't given any option to decline those coverages. Instead she was just told all the good about them. While I understand it is part of a salesman's job, I see it more as taking advantage of an 18 year old girl. We will take the steps in canceling all the coverages that she was sold. I'm sure they didn't give her any of the cons of what she purchased. Most importantly our insurance covers a lot of one of the plans. Road side, windshield, as well as our local tire shop gives guarantees on their product. Let's not forget to mention the $3200 limited engine coverage she was sold. Complete BS. We are disgusted with what we have seen. We should've came with her but we did not. Trying to give her some independence but in return she was taken advantage of. This isn't our first run in with Curry Auto. I for one will not recommend or ever do business with such a place again. For the prices she financed for on a used car. I liked a 2021 RAV4 XLE car online with only 63k miles and no accident history on CARFAX report, so went there in person to buy it. I asked if they take credit cards. They agreed and I gave the deposit and told them I'll be back tomorrow morning to complete the purchase. Next day I called from Bloomington and found out that they take CC for limited amount only and I should have make an appointment. They didn't mention any of these yesterday. I was frustrated! I was waiting in the parking lot I told him that I'll be back next day. Sales person had plans w his family next day so I offered that I'll be there a day after that. I told them that I was driving a rental car but didn't seem like they cared! Well, I went there Thu and completed the paper wk. We showed him three chips on windshield on day one. He claimed to get all repaired when I went to pick up the car. Next day I went again to get the receipt copy showing all fixed. It had only one chip mentioned! I called glass company and they said they fixed only one. Now I left my car to the dealer again to get other chips fixed which apparently turned into big cracks while fixing the chip. This time they gave me courtesy car to drive until they change the windshield. Today I picked up my car hoping there won't be anymore problems but... after driving it for 20ish min I see funny signs popping up like cruise control malfunction, headlights malfunction, pre-collision system malfunction and blah blah, plus my gas tank pin that shows of the tank is empty or full, isn't working anymore! I haven't been able to drive my close to 30k car for 3 hours and already seeing all kinda problems! Revised review- all malfunction sings were due to not collaborating at all or wrongly collaborating by the auto glass ppl when they changed the windshield. I had to go to them twice to get it fixed and now my car is not showing any problems Curry Auto Center expressed understanding for my frustration and offered me complete refund due to all the hiccups during and after the sales. However, I decided to keep the car bc it's running fine now. I am also changing my ratings from 1 start to 4 stars! read more

I am giving Curry a three mainly because of the time it took for me to get the car I purchased after I had to return it for a busted thermostat, how they handled the repair, along with the time it took to process the tile paperwork. I purchased the vehicle on October 13th but couldn't take it home until the 15th. After running a few errands where I needed to stop in some heavy traffic, I noticed that the air was not working and then the temperature of the vehicle was extremely high, so I parked the car to let it cool down and called to tell them I would be bringing it back. Asked for a loaner and was told they were no longer giving out loaners because they didn't have many vehicles on the lot. I told them that was not my problem and that they needed to provide me a loaner since I am now down one car, they finally obliged and I was on my way. A little while later they called and let me know what was wrong and that the car would be repaired by Monday, this was Friday so that was awesome! Called them Monday and they said it wouldn't be ready until Friday, maybe the next Monday. I explained that it would be unacceptable as I was moving out of state the next week and would either need the vehicle or the money back to purchase a different vehicle. It was finally complete on Friday before my trip and I was good to go. Cut to a month later and I still have not received the title, when I call the BMV they said they had only just received the paperwork for the title and it could take up to 20 days after that to process and be sent in the mail. The biggest issue with this is that I need that title to register the car in my new state and the current temporary tags have expired. So I was screwed out of a car for a second time until the title arrives in the mail. Here it is almost two months later and I still have yet to receive the title. The person I spoke to was very polite when she explained that there was nothing they could do once the paperwork was sent to the state, which came sucked but I understand. read more

Recently, I needed to turn in my leased vehicle and purchase another car. I let them know what I was looking for and my timeframe in advance. They found a car for me that was better than I expected! Our leased vehicle was recently dented and the employees at the body shop quickly repaired it for me. I've also had a lot of work done at the service center and have been treated well each time. Car trouble is no fun, but the employees at Curry do a great job of taking the time to ensure your satisfaction. If something isn't right, they don't shy away from the problem, but will work with you toward a solution. I took my car in to Curry auto service center due to my car running and driving poorly. They "said" they did a full diagnostic on my car and told me I needed $1200 dollars of work done. I did the work and paid $1200, mins you I am a full time graduate student right on money. I took it to the dealership thinking it would get the best service this way. My car continued to run poorly and drove it back to my hometown. Four days after getting work done at Curry the problems reoccurred and my transmission blew. This was the underlying issue to begin with and they did not catch this problem in their "full diagnostic". All they responded with was "sorry nothing we can do". I would not recommend this service center to anyone in the area. read more

I took my car in last week to get the brakes checked and a bent hubcap replaced. I called to make an appointment, and when I dropped off my car I clarified again what needed fixed. They had my car from 9:30 am to after 4:00pm the first day. Nate called me to tell me my car was ready to pick-up, and he told me what my total was going to be for the brakes but never mentioned the hubcap. I asked him about the hubcap, and he said their notes said that it didn't need replaced. I again explained what was wrong with it, and he apologized for the mix-up and said he would order the part. I went in again today (8/1) after Nate called me to tell me the hubcap was in. When I went there, I was told that they ordered an entire wheel rather than the hubcap I asked for on at least three separate occasions. I've never experienced service like this with a dealership before, and I recommend college students to look elsewhere if they want to get any car repairs done in a timely and professional manner. read more

Well only to find out that Chevy has an extended warranty on this, and other vehicles, for 7 years and 6 months or 120,000 due to poor engineering. They mentioned nothing! After buying a new GMC truck from another dealer, I found that the new $60K truck would not light my camping trailer lights or run its electric brakes. After two trips that spanned three days, the Curry service manager (my local dealer) told me they might have them working but that functionality could be intermittent or stop working. And, if I wanted a refund on the work I had done on my camper to see if the lights actually worked (they did, perfectly), the guy told me to take it back to where I bought it in Ohio. Upon researching this problem, I found that this is a common problem with 2019 and especially 2020 Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks. Something GM has known about for a long time now. It never occurred to me that a new pickup truck would not run trailer lights, and I had never heard of such an issue in my past 5 pickups. They have taken something simple and made it very complicated by running the light hookup through the vehicle computer system. O boy. I would go elsewhere for any warranty service if there was another one near where I live. As it is, I would have to drive 50 miles to a dealer than Curry. GM says I can get warranty service at any dealer in the country. I guess not. read more

Searching their inventory online over Memorial Day weekend, I found a peach of a used Chevy Cruze (3 years old, only 8400 miles!), it was even my favorite shade of blue! Called first thing Tuesday morning and spoke to Carrie Smith, told her this was the car I wanted to be in and she promised she'd do her best to put me in it. Sales was very low-pressure, pricing negotiations took place via email. Jim Williams was extremely helpful in running the numbers to give me comparison pricing on a new lease, and when I determined to stick with the '13, worked diligently with Gary Hunsucker in Finance to push the paperwork and make it happen at the down payment I could afford and a payment range I could handle. By Wednesday night I was out for an overnight test drive and the car was signed sealed and delivered Thursday. I told them this was EXACTLY the car I wanted to be in, and what I could afford, and these individuals went the extra mile to make it happen and put me in it. I would recommend this dealer to anyone and everyone. Although I will note, just because it struck me as funny, they do push the add-ons at time of signing, HARD. I am certain that Gary was channeling William H Macy from "Fargo" trying to sell that Tru-Coat haha. Dan Smith and Terri Barrow both did great jobs of hunting down the exact truck I wanted. This is the second vehicle that I've gotten from Curry and Dan Smith was involved both times. He's a great person to deal with and seems to have his heart in the right place, which is doing right by the customer above all else. If you've ever walked into a dealership and felt the hard sale and high pressure antics of someone that could care less about you and just wants to make a sale, Dan Smith is about as far from that as they come. That guy is going places! I couldn't be more happy with Curry's sales team! Terri made sure to walk me through setting up OnStar and helped to schedule a third party spray in bed liner appointment. When I have a ascendant on the 03/01/2013, my Insurance company recommend to have my car fixed at one of the networks approved collision shop, named Christian Brother, after I agreed & arranged to send my car recommend shop, I found that this shop is located far from my home. I request to change the repair shop to be Curry instead of Christian Brother. The Insurance adjuster, complete his initial repair estimate by 03/04/2013 & supplement estimate by the 03/07/2013. On the 03/15/2013, I called Curry to follow-up the update of the completion data. The collision center told me, that they are found more additional damages & they are waiting for the insurance adjuster inspection to do another supplement report, before they can starting the repair. In which it was not true as the insurance adjuster, assure me that she did not receive any addition supplement inspection other that the one been completed on the 03/07/2013. I called again the collision center to clear the subject, they was insisting that there is an addition damages & they are waiting for insurance adjuster to do second supplement inspection & report before they can start the repair. After several call between the insurance adjuster, Curry Collision & myself, we found that, was No additional supplement inspect & report is needed and it was misunderstand from Curry. This cussed to extend the lease of the rental vehicle up to the repair completed. Plus to above, the repair was completed & the vehicle was ready for pickup before the noon of the last Saturday 03/22/2013, and no one called me. I just passing accidently by 12:15 to follow-up in person the status of my car, I found that the vehicle is ready for pickup in the parking lot. I was lucky that it was still people in the collision center, to give me my vehicle. If I did not have my vehicle at that time, I was paid additional for my rental. I paid unnecessary an $30x7 day=$210 for extending the lease of the rental for week Curry was lost in unnecessary waiting for the insurance adjuster to do the supplement, in which the supplement was completed on the 03/07/2013. read more

My husband took his hummer there to get an oil change. He told them additionally to check everything because a light was on. So we knew the car was needing some kind of repair. They first told him it would take few days. No it took 2 1/2 wks later. They had to order a part and had trouble obtaining the part. They never offered a rental car or money off the bill for our inconveience. My husband expressed his concerns all that was given was a free oil change. Come on already this place is a joke! The parking lot is a joke and their staff are idiots. At one point one guy said you can take it home, but it might not start. I am outraged. I plan on telling everyone what crappy place this is! We just moved here a couple months ago. They have lost our business. Oh to top it off another light came on they said it will be another $200. We already spent 1,000 plus. Beware of this place!!! I will never step foot in there ever again! I now have heard horrid stories of other customers. We will be going back up Noblesville Hare Chevy even if its hour and half way. This place should not even open. The commercial says they have been around 100 plus years- yeah ripping people of and providing horriable customer service. The Manager at the Ellettsville location has no customer service skills and was rude. After making attempts to reach Carey Curry himself with multiple messages no return call was made. And I went back to curry this morning, the director of service came to me saying it wasn't their responsibility terrible attitude and I signed the waiver (you have to sign it when you drop your key). This was an unexpected visit to Curry because of a flat tire. The possibility existed that the tire would have to be replaced, so the service supervisor obtained a replacement, in case it was needed. Turned out that the tire was repairable. As part of the service, the other three tires were checked and a small puncture/leak was discovered in another tire. That was also fixed. I appreciate the thoroughness and flexibility in resolving the issue. read more

Have always taken our vehicles to Curry for warranty work and was pleased with the service until recently. Took our 2011 Equinox in for warranty work in December of 2016 to replace the high pressure fuel pump. They said they would order the part and contact us. About a month later I called to check to see if the part had come in. I was informed it had not and that they would contact me when it did. I called again on July 19, 2017 and explained that we are still waiting for them to call. They said to bring it in. But after further discussion they said the part had actually still not come in but they had one they could use. In March of 2017 I had contacted another GM dealer. They ordered the part and fixed the issue within about 4 days. We were very disappointed because we had preferred to keep it local and do business with Curry. read more

I took my vehicle to Curry Auto Center to get my ignition cylinder fixed. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I found that I could not open the driver side door. Upon further inspection, I found that the fender had been bashed in where it meets the door. After several phone calls and visits in person, I was told that the owner refused to review video evidence from their security camera that would prove that my car was not damaged in this way when I brought it in. I said that I thought the security footage was certainly worth looking at, and I was told that they would not be looking into the matter any more. I immediately filed a complaint with the BBB. I can't believe that Curry Automotive would treat a customer in this way, and I will certainly be advising everyone I know to avoid them at all costs. read more

I have been a long-time customer, and whenever I go in I am reminded why! I only went in for an oil change, but I also had contact from the service department staff in the waiting area. One person asked if I wanted my tires rotated as it was almost time for that (thanks, I did). Then I was asked if I knew I had a recall on my Cruze and if I wanted them to do this as well. I mentioned that I called a few days before to see if the parts were in (knowing I was coming in for an oil change), and they were not in but had arrived on a recent shipment. So I did that, too.
