One thing was not done, and that is my fault not to communicate to him, is to reinstall drawer rails. Very recommended for anybody is looking for general contractor.

This is a mixed review since there is good and bad to mention. I contracted with this company to…read morereplace my siding and double decks. This wasn't the lowest priced bid, yet it also wasn't the outrageously high quotes I received from other companies. I was very excited to finally get this work done. At the same time I was working with TGR, I was also contracted with a roofing company, a painter, and a gate company. In the end, the only company I had problems with was TGR Construction Co. There are things I wasn't prepared for in this process, such as my pictures falling off the walls during the siding tear off or the cracks in the ceiling and walls created with the tear off, of which they tried to tell me all these NEW cracks (I live in this home) are due to normal settling of my home and said all houses settle with time and this is normal and not due to the siding job. I know it's not a coincidence these new and sudden 'settling' cracks appeared with the siding work. They broke through the ceiling upstairs and they did own up to this, maybe because it's hard to justify 'normal' settling with sudden stucco all over the floor. There were structural issues that arose during the project, at nobody's fault, that ended up costing me $11K more than my contract. Then I was also charged $4900 more to remove windows and have them reset. Btw, three other companies included the window removal and reset in their contract. It was considered standard for other companies. After the siding and decks were done, I was left with HVAC refrigerant lines on the ground and blocking doors and windows for my tenants, wires dangling under the deck staircase, the Radon remediation system wasn't reattached correctly and sparked scaring a HVAC technician and me, a deck rail was reset too low, refrigerant line covers were accidentally thrown out, and my daughter and I each did double sweeps for nails left behind when work was done. It took almost two months of asking for them to resolve these unresolved issues before some things were finally done. Jan 20th, three months after the crew left, I finally had the last unresolved issue handled. As a consumer, when I contract with a company, I expect to have the job done right without unnecessary stress. That did not happen here. On the POSITIVE, the crew is hardworking and really nice guys. The siding and double decks look great now. My home underwent a metamorphosis and is now beautiful and I receive compliments. I had crappy, rotting decks replaced with sturdy decks. This is the only reason I give a 2 rating instead of lower. All the mishaps, repair delays, and stood up appointments made this extremely frustrating and stressful. Could I have achieved my desired results without the frustration? I'm sure I could have with a different company. Buyer beware! Educate yourself on all steps that need to be in your contract. Make sure the removal of your windows for proper flashing is in the contract. I know A LOT of people and all my other contractors received more jobs through my recommendations. I know currently four people who are looking for a recommendation for siding, yet I can't recommend TGR Construction.

And no, they didn't tell me they couldn't meet my expectations when I sent that Email. I still have their Emailed response -- "It's beautiful!" Yes, what I wanted was. What I got wasn't. Do you see the close-up of that fireplace? One of the fake rocks had been given one last smear with three fingers when it had begun to harden. They used that piece on the front of the fireplace hearth. Unbelievable, but true. Then they wouldn't fix it. They said there were "variations" in real rock. But this is manufactured rock, so they could have gotten the colors and shapes right -- and culled out the pieces of low quality. I could give you other examples of problems with communications and quality. I chose this example because I'd even given them a PICTURE and they didn't get it right. Not only that, but the quality is appalling. And this, as the centerpiece of a house that cost over $300,000! No, I can't recommend them.

I'm genuinely confused by the positive reviews because our experience has been incredibly…read morefrustrating. I've managed several renovations over the years, including projects remotely, and this has easily been one of the most disorganized and painful experiences I've dealt with. Our project has been ongoing since March, with seemingly endless delays and very little progress. I understand that insurance involvement can complicate timelines, and we've tried to be patient. However, we eventually signed paperwork agreeing to self-fund the project specifically to eliminate those obstacles and get the work completed. Despite that, the delays have continued. Communication and project management have been incredibly poor. The team has been consistently unresponsive, has confused our project with other jobs, and has repeatedly sent subcontractors to our home who either had no idea what they were supposed to be doing or arrived with a completely different understanding of the scope of work. Based on conversations with various people who have been in and out of our home, I've gotten the impression there may have been some internal management changes, which could explain the disconnect. Regardless of the reason, the lack of organization, communication, and accountability has been unacceptable. It genuinely feels like no one is overseeing the project, and we've been left to constantly follow up, clarify details, and coordinate work that should be managed by the company we're paying. Remediation is already a stressful process for homeowners, and the last thing anyone needs is a company that makes it significantly more difficult. After months of frustration, I cannot recommend this company and would strongly caution others against hiring them.
