We have ended up here a few times to eat for both dinner and breakfast and this place has always kind of been a bummer. When the options are quite meek, this place seems to have consistent traffic but is always very slow. The food does range in terms of mediocre to ok. The first time I ate here I got a club and it was very dry and the service was absent. The last time we did breakfast because it is the ONLY PLACE to get breakfast. I got the country fried steak and my husband got the farmers omelet. The steak was tasty the hashbrowns were average. My husbands omelet was ok. The entire place feels very temporary though. The location feels like they threw some tables and booths in the location as a temporarily location and will get a final place at a later time. No-frills, straight-up spot that feels like a classic Perkins Restaurant or Denny's type menu. The steak was actually pretty solid, cooked right with good flavor, and the roll was soft and fresh. Only knock is I wish the roll had been warmed in the oven. read more

Was staying at the TI Resort n Casino, so had breakfast here. Politest thing i can say is that it was mediocre. Service was slow.

It was around 10:30am on a Saturday. Plenty of spacious seating still available. We choose a booth and dang, those booth seats need an upgrade. They are old and worn out without any cushion. Sunken holes from where people have sat over the years. The whole inside gave me outdated feels. That doesnt always matter either, just describing the place to Yelp is all. We ordered some bloodys, an omelet and the biscuits and gravy. Everything was pretty standard and simple tasting. The bloodys were more on the tomato juice side. The hashbrowns could've been a little crispier but still enjoyable. Service was standard and you pay at the counter. read more

Waitress was very rude and all she could say was she had other tables to wait on she could have cared less if you were there or not we were just another table to her and her attitude showed we waited 15 plus minutes just to get drinks then when we asked if we could get our drinks she replied it will be a minute I have other tables to take care of!! We should have left then but we waited and when food arrived it was cold Slop that I wouldn't have feed to my dogs needless to say won't be back!! Her name was allyah and since this happened to me I've heard from 2 more people basically the same story very rude and could care less about the customer that's not the type of people I would have on my work team!! Ate at currents - treasure Island casino Minn. Had the Sunday special - turkey dinner. Do not order. It was processed with super thin slices of turkey. Didn't have a good taste. Flavorless mush stuffing. Watered down mashed potatoes- didn't taste like potatoes. Over cooked frozen veggies - mush. Extremely salty gravy and food. Italian bread stick - hard and dry. Tiny scoop cranberry sauce. Runny watered down. Small portions. I saw more plate then food. Was like eating a TV dinner. Way over priced!!! Server was nice and friendly. read more

The food was great and service was excellent. The ambiance is that of a normal cafe very busy and professionally run.

Our waitress was pleasant with the right customer service! Our order came at a reasonable amount time and food was hot and tasty! The restaurant is inside of the casino but it's like stepping away from the gaming floor into a place to relax and enjoy some down time. I will stop in there again. read more

When your inside a casino your options are limited. We went early to have a few drinks and get something to eat before a concert. Bad idea!!! I wish we would have stopped somewhere else before hand. I certainly did NOT want a buffet---the idea of them just gross me out with everybody breathing all over my food. We wandered around and pretty much currents was the only option---we had to wait in line for 30 minutes because it was busy--however it appears they only had one side of this place open on New Years Eve...wha wha WHAT!!! This is straight up old people dining here folks......The did not have the broasted chicken even though it was the day of the week they were supposed to have it. I got the salisbury steak special...it had those fake grill marks on a tough piece of some type of meat. The husband got the cod....it appeared okay however pretty sure they just sauntered over to the buffet and fulfilled his order. Since the last time I visited something has changed for the better stopped in for a quick bite before Nickelback did not need to wait for seating and food was served hot fresh and fast. Decided to eat breakfast the next day and same menu is adequate so few options at Treasure Island I was pleased that my experience this time was good read more

My first visit to TI. Obviously then, my first time at Currents. I was there about 09:30. Getting seated seemed to be a bit on the slow side. It did not seem that busy. I got seated and presented the menu and put in a coffee order. Small pot of coffee and glass of water was served quickly. Coffee hot. Water cold. Spent a few minutes looking over the limited menu. Limited is a good thing. This is just breakfast. No need to have 75 item breakfast menu. Meat, Eggs, Potatoes, Toast, Pancakes, French Toast, Cereal, Beverages, Fruit. What else is there for breakfast? Pricing I guess. I ordered the Currents Breakfast. Apparently their most popular. Two eggs, over easy, Sausage, Hash Browns, Wheat toast. Pretty standard breakfast at most any place. I was prepared in decent amount of time. Butter is in little packs at the table along with assorted jellies. Butter is room temperature. Perfect. Spread on some butter. It would not melt well. Toast was made to early or sat waiting to be picked up by the server. One of the OE eggs was deflated. The sausage patties were cooked properly and warm. Hash Browns were crispy but small amount compared to what I am used to for this type of breakfast. Server was friendly and checked in once during my meal to see if every thing is OK. I didn't complain about the cold toast or deflated egg. I did not want to wait for it to be cooked again while eating or letting the hash browns or sausage get cold. Over all, service was adequate and server was attentive. Portions were smaller then what I would expect for a $14.75 meal. I will return if I get to this Casino again during early morning hours. The plus side is I was able to have a decent lunch on my way home since I was not very full. I hope they can get the toast and eggs more properly prepared. read more

Treasure Island is so close that I had never spent the night or eaten at Currents Restaurant before. The weather was bad but I already had the day off so we booked a room and needed to eat dinner. We wanted to go to Tradewinds Buffet but it was closed due to inclement weather. I guess this means that there would not be enough patrons and food would go bad but I do not know for sure why the buffet was closed just because it was snowing outside. So we want to Currents. Brandon at the front desk greeted us right away. He was awesome! The place was packed since the hotel was sold out and the buffet was closed. He went to clear a table for us but before he came back, someone else came by and seated us. Wait time less than two minutes and Brandon apologized for the wait. We were seated with menus. After 15 minutes, I asked my father in law if he thought I should go to the host's desk to see if they knew we were there. He said no, he would catch the next server that walked by. I had met the eyes of one server who promptly averted her eyes. I was less than hopeful. He flagged down one of the servers and asked if she knew who our server was. She gestured and said "It's him. He's getting food out. You will have to wait." We were seated for a full 25 minutes before he came over. (Do you know how much money the casino could have made from my gambling in that time?!?) He brought us each a water and took our order. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with sweet potatoe fries and a Mountain Dew, my father in law ordered the farmer's omelet with coffee. About 20 minutes later, the manager dropped off drinks and food. The burger was with regular fries and she said she would get me a side of he sweet potato fries. She never came back. The burger looked great but had no flavor at all. The fries, regular fries, were cold. My father in law said his omelet was just ok. We finished eating. No one ever came by the table to check on us. Yes, the restaurant was busy but there were a lot of servers walking around, too. Our server walked by us numerous times without looking at us, at all. We finished eating and sat waiting for more than 10 minutes. Our server refilled one water glass (this was the single refill in all the time we were there despite the fact that my glasses were both empty for quite some time) and I had to ask for the check. Finally we were getting up to pay. Brandon was at the register and he asked how everything was. We said there were some difficulties. He apologized and accepted the $15 comp coupon but the register stopped working correctly and he had to get the manager. She fixed the register in about a minute. All in all the food kept us from starving, cost $3.40 and was worth about that much but nothing more. It took forever and was not good, with only one person on staff who appeared to care. read more

The food barely passes for "okay". The fish is dreadfully bad. The people who work there always seem like they hate life. They have NO straws because they claim to be "going green". Depending on your choice of selection. If your eating prime rib, then why not eat the buffet and have dessert too. Nothing too spectacular about Currents similar to buffet. Portion wise is decent. We usually have leftovers to pack home. read more

From the beginning, all staff appeared inconvenienced by the patrons in the restaurant. No smiles or friendly greetings. Our server briefly greeted us after 10 minutes of being seated, we were ready to place our order and she spouted the specials and walked away without giving us a chance to order. She then proceeded to check other tables and came back to ask us a second time what our drink order was (2 diet sodas). We ordered our food and observed the server check on 3 other tables, clean off a table and proceed to the kitchen with the dirty dishes before placing our order. The table seated minutes before us had completed eating their meal before we received our food. I ordered the seasonal burger that our server raves about; if it had been hot I bet it would've tasted amazing. The sweet potato fries were cold to luke warm. My boyfriend ordered chicken fried steak, hash browns and eggs w toast. The toast and hash browns were cold and the butter wouldn't melt. His eggs were cooked as requested and the chicken fried steak was luke warm at best. Our server checked in on us to "see how the first bites" were as my boyfriend was finishing his meal. We visit Treasure Island at least twice a month and this was the worst experience yet. read more
