Jazz worked with me patiently to edit and re-edit the reference image to get it to look exactly how I wanted. I've gotten three tattoos from Jazz now, and I love them all, but I'm super obsessed with my latest one. It came out amazing!
I did a walk in tattoo so you can too!!! I reached out to Mike Balingit Jr. on Instagram (IG @liquid_brain_tattoos) with my tattoo idea. He was able to give me a rough estimate with the information I gave him. He was very easy to consult with. Start to finish, one of the best experiences I've had!! His energy is amazing and his art is beautiful!! I will definitely find myself back in his chair again for more work!! He also takes appointments!!
Jason Sphinx is my friends tattoo artist. We would describe his ink style as traditional/old school Americana with a Japanese influence. His lines and illustrations are very detailed and his freehand color work and shading are exquisite. Very clean and relaxed environment with a Quentin Tarantino-esque vibe. Someone should really film a movie here. Monthly art shows. Newly installed indoor skate ramp. Nice bathrooms. Check it out!
Daniel Dagones and the whole crew at Current Tattooing are professionally, artistic and friendly. The shop has a cool vibe, there have been several artists working every time I have been to the shop and I have been addressed immediately every time I walk into the shop. Great service and great artistry. If I had more room on my body I would probably get more tattoos here. Without hesitation I would recommend Daniel Dagones and Current Tattooing to any and all of my homies.
Very, very happy with my decision to get a tattoo by Alex. He was super cool, had good advice and did an amazing job with my tattoo. It was done with such care and attention to detail. If anyone has been doing research for their next tattoo and you're viewing different shops and IG's, definitely contact Alex. I spent a lot of time researching and I'm so glad I ended up at Current. Definitely going back for more!
I made this account just to leave a review - Nick is the best tattoo artist I have ever met! I came in with some friends from the east coast and it had been 3 years since we met. We each wanted 2+ tattoos each and came as walk-ins. Nick took the time to talk to each of us and tell us how our tattoos would look based on size. We felt really comfortable with him - it was my best friends first time getting a tattoo and she was very very happy with her experience. I have a tattoos in the double digits and I have never had such a comfortable experience. Highly recommend 10/10. My friends walked out saying she's gonna book a $700-plane ticket just to get another tattoo from him again! PS: Thank you so much Nick! You made this experience so memorable for the three of us!! I'd been looking to get a new tattoo for years now and was turned on to Current Tattooing by someone that I work with. Went to visit the shop and immediately got a good vibe from the shop and the people that work there, despite the artist I wanted to see not being there. Got in contact with the artist I wanted to see (Daniel Dagones) through his instagram page, made an appointment for a consultation and went over my idea for a very significant tattoo, where I wanted it placed and he took the idea and ran with it. I didn't see any kind of sketch from him before I went in to get my tattoo done and when I saw the des he'd come up with, I was blown away as it was exactly what I'd asked for. Over the next few hours, he expertly worked on my piece while the conversation flowed and at the end of our first session, this is what I walked out of the shop with. I'm beyond happy and satisfied with my experience at Current Tattooing and am very much looking forward to going back and having my piece completed! read more

I've been wanting a tattoo for a very very long time, and I finally decided to go with this place, particularly with Jason. I followed several tattoo artists, followed the #bayareatattooartist hashtag on instagram, looked on Yelp and Facebook reviews and finally went with this place because Jason had an awesome style and the reviews for this place were solid. I pinged Jason on instagram to ask him some prelim questions like how the process works, down payments, stuff like that and he was super helpful and patient with me about it! I sent him a picture of what I was interested in and went in for a consult, and he talked to me about where I'd want it done, how big I'd want it, when I'd be available, how long each session would take, etc. The first consult took about a half hour and I paid a deposit, which went towards my final total. Second consult, he showed me the sketch and size so I could see where it would go. The first session for the outline was fairly smooth, took only an hour or so after filling out a bunch of paperwork, and he gave me some basic instructions and antibacterial soap for taking care of it. Second session, he warned me would be a bit more painful since we'd be going over the skin multiple times, but also only took a little less than 2 hours. I have to say that the final product looks AMAZING. It hasn't quite healed yet, but Jason has been super responsive any time I had any questions about taking care of it or anything. And honestly, he's such a chill dude that I felt really comfortable with him. Also, everyone who works at this location are super friendly and nice, so I felt at ease every time I was here. Would definitely recommend coming here for a tattoo and I'm already dreaming up my next one! read more

What? I never reviewed current tattooing?! I might be the kind of guy who has to wear suit for work but I also have over 80 hours of tattoos on my body...and I do strongly recommend this place! The studio itself is big. There are 2 large tattooing areas. Nicely decorated, it's super clean, great vibe! I get my work done by Ike, a great and friendly artists who is really good at realistic tattoos. I sometime just book my appointment by SMS. The staff is helpful and friendly. Recommended for small simple first tatts as well as elaborated work! read more

Had a great experience as a walk-in client. We met up with Mike, new artist from LA, gave him a design I wanted and he provided me with a consult and price and the rest of my experience was amazing. Super friendly and great customer service. He really cares about the work he puts out there, rather it be his own original designs or something you got from Pinterest. Give this man your money he is simply the best. He will be my new go to guy from here out. read more

Great shop!! Location is super easy to find with plenty of parking access nearby. Hours are very flexible with a variety of artists to book with. Really good vibe in this shop too - could probably spend the day here just hanging out! Daniel has been my tattoo artist for a few years now and he never ceases to amaze me with his creativity, whether it's an add-on, a cover-up or something brand new!! Can't wait to go back for my next!!! read more

A few months ago my sister and I planned on going to another shop, but when we got there they didn't have space that day. We went on yelp and Current Tattooing was the first shop that came up. We went here and she got a sick ass tattoo on her arm from Mike. I went back later and he did the most insane tattoo of a luna moth on me. I just got my second one done by him last night. Mike is extremely talented and never fails to impress me. The shop itself is super nice and spacious. I highly recommend this place. read more

Stopped in as a walk-in and was greeted by Mike (@liquid_brain_tattoos) who is just a gem of a person aside from an extremely talented artist. This was my sister and I's first tattoo and we could not have asked for a better experience from beginning to end. Highly recommend Mike and the shop for your tattoo needs. Definitely will be coming back for my future tattoos! read more

Before I made an appointment with Current Tattooing, I went in first to inquire about my tattoo and was greeted by a friendly tattoo artist named Mikey. He gave me a bit more information about the process and gave me a card. A couple of days later, I decided I really wanted to get this tattoo. I called the tattoo shop and made an appointment within 30 minutes! I thought wow this is great! Luckily, this place was only about a 5 minute drive from my place. Parking can be found either in a near parking lot or in the street. I had my appointment at around 5-6ish and it was kind of hard doing a parallel parking in the street just because of all the cars coming and not yielding to you even though the light is red and they just want to block you off... Anyway, I went in and found out that the person I talked to was Mikey! I was glad it was him because we had prior rapport. I showed him my ID and was given forms by another employee. Took me about 5 minutes to fill it all out and gave the forms back. I waited for about 10 minutes in the waiting room for Mikey. I showed him what I wanted and printed the tattoo that I wanted. After re-sizing it, he told me the estimate ($80) which I thought was reasonable so I gave the go ahead. He escorted me to the back behind the counter and put on a temporary tattoo to see how it looked like. I appreciated how he asked not one, but two of his co-workers to see how it looked! When we finalized the tattoo, I laid down and he sanitized me as he prepared. We made small chats and I was surprised to find out that he's only been doing this for two years! I wasn't scared but I was astonished that he was knowledgeable with his line of work that I thought he's been doing this for at least 5-10 years. The whole process of tattooing me was about an hour including sketching and being inked. He gave me instructions on how to take care of it and gave me his card which I thought was the coolest business card I've ever seen. If I do decide to get another tattoo, I'd love to come back here! read more

My friend suggested me to Ike because she had done a majority of her gorgeous and flawless tattoos before. I set up my appointment last winter for a mandala piece, all blackwork and I couldn't be happier with the result. I drew a sketch for Ike to work with and he went above and beyond, he added his personal touches and considered my opinion if changing things would look better than my original idea, which as an artist you want your work to be completely cohesive. Ike has also done my sleeve and I know for a fact that I'll be coming back multiple times in the future for other pieces. Also, the rest of the staff is friendly and they all specialize in their specific style from portraits, Americana, tribal and Polynesian, and many of these artists are extremely skilled and versatile that they could work with incorporating other styles and embracing it flawlessly. These guys are friendly as hell and the place itself is creative and very cool. I refer all my friends to go here to get work done and they've all been extremely satisfied. Best shop I've ever been to! read more
Cory GoodMorning's work is the business, which is why I chose him to cover up the lotus tattoo on the back of my neck with a new lotus, which we dubbed "Lotus 2.0". Cory is a professional, and I was at ease each session. Current Tattoo is a clean, beautiful shop with some seriously talented artists on board. Definitely hit up an art show here sometime!
