Danny is a wonderful artist! His shop is clean and inviting. He really sets the tone and explains the details of how the process works. This was especially important for me as I've never had a tattoo before. This space is professional and Danny made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Danny and Chapter Tattoo. My memorial tattoo is absolutely beautiful. Thank you!! read more

How I settled on Chapter Tattoo was his detailed emails. He was professional and to the point. The shop was clean with black and white walls. He took me through his workstation on how each person has a brand new needle and ink set. Once the work is completed, he discards the needles in his biohazard red bin under his workstation. All his surfaces are stainless steal, disinfected, and items wrapped in plastic are changed out with each client. He is passionate about his work, calm, and he is a people person. He made sure my tattoos had the correct symmetry on my arm. This was my very first tattoo and ended up with two. Chapter Tattoo is the best place in town. read more

Danny is extremely thorough. He executed exactly what I requested with mastery. Before he started, he gave me a visual tour of his work station and how he sanitizes and keeps his equipment and studio clean. I didn't see a speck of dust in any corner of the shop, this guy is serious about his cleanliness. On top of all that, he was a cool guy. He was open to listening to music he had never heard before despite my insistence we listen to whatever gets him in the zone. Really awesome dude with some talent to boot. read more

THE BEST!!!! I am obsessed with Danny. He has such a unique style of illustrative tattoo design that you won't be able to find anywhere else in the world. He keeps everything clean and sterile and shows you how he used brand new needles and equipment every time. He's friendly and chill, which made my few hour session with him super enjoyable. He even sent me home with the original drawing of my tattoo piece. Seriously cannot recommend this guy enough and will be for sure flying back to California for my next big pieces. Danny is dope!!! I found Danny on yelp looking for a tattoo artist where I live in Sunnyvale. A lot of people on yelp mentioned that Danny took cleanliness very seriously and is a great artist. I scheduled an appointment for my daughter to get her first tattoo and a clean shop was first on the list . We met Danny and he went over how he cleans his station and all steps in between. Danny is very easy going and answered all of our questions. After my daughter got her awesome tattoo I asked Danny if he did blast over/ cover ups. He said yes and I showed him the tattoos I wanted to cover up. I got them when I was young and dumb lol. I didn't want to hide them with just a black panther and really wanted a tiger. Danny drew up a fantastic tiger and used flames and stripes to cover and draw the eye away from the old tattoos. I am more than pleased with the results and everyone that I've showed has been blown away by the transformation. If you are looking for a professional tattoo artist who prides himself on cleanliness and is a great artist, then Danny is your man! read more

I've been tattooed by Danny three times in the last 8 months. He has been nothing but patient, innovative and professional. The shop is ridiculously clean and Danny is very organized. Chapter Tattoo is Dany's shop and he is the only artist that works there. Which means there are no random people walking in and out. No other artists making noise or distractions. For these reasons it makes for a perfect shop to get tattooed at if you have anxiety like I do. Danny lets me have as many interruptions as I need to so that I can stretch my legs, have a smoke, go to the bathroom, etc. He has never rushed me or denied me a break like the 7 other tattoo shops I've been to. Chapter Tattoo has ample safe parking which again puts my anxiety at ease. My experience at other tattoo shops always had horrible parking situations. Danny's prices can not be beat! Frankly, I feel like he should be charging more. If you have any touch ups to do he'll gladly fit you in for them. He is a perfectionist and wants you to be as happy with your tattoo as he is. I will continue going to Danny as long as I live in the Bay Area. He is the best tattoo artist in the Bay! read more

I reached out on Yelp and was asked to chat on instagram as well as texting. Unfortunately, the artist does not seem to be welcoming. This is my first tattoo and I am still trying to understand what the process is. The artist not only didn't wanna listen to my idea but also shame me for it. I felt really disappointed as well as discouraged afterwards. In my opinion, tattoo is something that stays with you for life, so it is important to find a dedicated artist who is willing to work with you for it. I do not recommend this place and highly recommend Unlimited Int Tattoo! read more

Best tattoo shop I've experienced hands down. Danny is very professional and at the same time personable. He's detailed orientated and works with you to make sure you get the best tattoo possible. He's also honest in regards to letting you know if your design/placement would work or not. His shop in super clean and he goes over his procedures from start to finish so you know what to expect from your experience. I love that fact that he's an artist (illustrator) first and that his talent transfers flawlessly to his tattooing. This gave me the confidence to give him creative freedom when it came to ideas and design of my tattoos. He's already done 3 of my tattoos and will plan on getting more done in the near future. :) If you're interested and thinking of getting some ink done, I suggest consulting with Danny; and you'll know what I'm talking about. read more

I've been going to Danny for almost 2 years now, and there's a few reasons why I keep coming back. Before becoming a tattoo artist, he already had a lot of experience with illustration and design, which shows in his sketches and tattoos. I try to give Danny as much detail as possible for any new pieces I want to get, but I trust his judgment and creativity and am always satisfied with the final designs. Danny is very professional and makes sure to abide by all health and safety codes to minimize risk of infection. I always get compliments on how good the tattoos look and how well Danny tattooed on my skin. I've recommended two friends to contact him for pieces and they were satisfied with their experience as well. Both intend to return to Danny either to finish up a sleeve or to get new pieces done. If you're looking to get a grey wash tattoo done, this is Danny's specialty and I definitely recommend read more

Been wanting to get a tattoo for the longest time. When I decided to finally get one, I happen to see on social media Danny's IG profile for his tattoo business. I was extremely impressed with his amazing artwork and attention to detail. I went on Yelp to read all the great reviews and that sealed the deal for me. I emailed Danny, told him it would be my first tattoo and sent some sample pictures of what I wanted and thousands of questions to ease my mind. Danny replied back right away, answered every question and went through the whole process. Day before the appointment, Danny sent me a sketch of what the tattoo would looks like and I was blown away! The day of my appointment I was running behind working late. Danny was so accommodating and just told me to take my time getting there. I was worried that there wouldn't have enough time but Danny assured me the time block would be enough. As soon as I got there Danny right away greeted me and we started talking, putting my worries at ease. Danny showed me his workstation and went over every step of the tattoo process during the appointment. Danny made sure I was alright the whole time, asking if I needed to take breaks. All in all an amazing experience and I am still amazed at my tattoos. I have received so many compliments from family, friends and co-workers that they are now considering going to see Danny for their tattoo. I highly recommend Danny and will be coming back soon for more tattoos read more

First of all, I was quite nervous and hesitant about tattoos in general and I was afraid of not getting the kind of artist that I would want to get a tattoo from. I came across Chapter Tattoo on Yelp and i could not be more happy that I chose Danny. The experience - it was nothing short of what I wanted for my first tattoo and he even agreed to work on a design that wasn't exactly his preference since it involves a lot of lines and dots lol. Danny worked on the design based on what I wanted and a couple references that I provided him and he pulled it off like a boss ! To everyone out there who are unsure of where to get their tattoos I recommend Danny. Danny's personality and work ethic will blow you away ! read more

Wow, absolutely could not have had a better experience with my first tattoo than I did with Danny at Chapter Tattoo. Unlike other tattoo shops I had visited, Danny did his first consultation with me in-person at his shop. During the consultation, Danny took the time to get to know me and understand my vision for my custom tattoo. He provided me with drafts all throughout the process, maintained excellent communication, and ensured that I was 100% comfortable with my design on my actual tattoo day. Danny had unparalleled cleanliness, a chill personality, and was amazing at distracting me from any discomfort I may have felt during the tattoo. If you are looking for a pristine tattoo with a side of storytelling, Danny's shop is the place to go! After the trust and rapport Danny has established, I will absolutely be returning to Chapter Tattoo for all future artwork. Endless recommendations for Danny! This rating is based on three parts. The work done, the cleanliness/location and the artist himself, Danny Sun. First, the cleanliness and location were top tier. Danny took me through all of the steps and products. He showed me all of his tools and sanitation procedures. He discussed the inks and other materials he would use. He was very thorough and you can tell he cared a lot about safe practices and a clean environment. Second, the work he did for me was amazing. Personally, I lack artistic abilities. Danny help me take a bio-mechanical concept from my head and materialize it on paper and helped with furthering the design. He is a skilled artist and it shows. Third, Danny himself was an understanding, experienced, patient artist. He has a lot of experience in tattoos and it shows in his work. He quotes prices fairly (especially for his quality of work). read more

. So far I've gotten two by Danny, a year apart and I love both of them. He will triple check if you are satisfied with how your tattoo will be placed. He's an amazing artist, I get tons of compliments read more

The level of service Danny provides is like nothing I've experienced in the tattoo tattoo industry - it ups the standard! I was drawn to his really cool and unique tattoo style, and when I texted for an appointment he was friendly and great to work with. Danny's studio was very clean, and when I arrived he basically took me through a mini tutorial of his station setup and tattooing - cleanliness, new tools, tattoo care - it made me feel right at home. I wish more tattoo shops were like this... it really helps highlight that your in the hands of a pro. I sent him a design I created and he replicated it on my skin perfectly, even gave me some size options I got to test out. My tattoo has healed nicely and I'll definitely be back for more. read more

Just had a long session with Danny. Let me start by saying I have had 25 tattoos in five states and two countries. This was hands down the best customer experience I have ever had. Danny completely personalized my session. He sat with me and brainstormed ideas, drew a mock up, measured my area. He scheduled my appointment quickly and gave me a very reasonable price, and then sent me picture updates of what I could expect. When my day came we had the entire studio to ourselves, we ordered food, watched comedies, and listened to good tunes. His attention to detail, and constant communication on his vision and art process was second to none. The final product of both my and my wife's work was phenomenal. Danny has earned my business from here on out, I will no longer use another tattoo artist. Best tattoo experience to date. Great job Danny! read more

Danny is an amazing artist, he was also very professional and knowledgeable. I came to him with an idea for a cover up and he worked with me to find the best way forward. He found a way to keep all of the concepts I wanted in the new design that perfectly covered up my other tattoo. I was extremely impressed and glad he worked with me on this. Had my first tattoo done here. I brought the design which was very simple and I did not get a chance to work on it with Danny so cannot comment on that aspect of his work. I am writing this review after two weeks since I did my tattoo. Firstly I would like to start off by saying that Danny is amazing. This is the first time I got a tattoo done and the way he designed the tattoo was fantastic. Very approachable and always there to guide me during the design phase. He gave multiple breaks and the final design came out to be better than excepted. During the process he gave me sufficient breaks and he's parlor is very hygienic. Once the tattoo was done it was beyond my expectations, I got a lot of compliments and whenever I had follow up question he was their to reply. I just did my two weeks check up with him and everything looks perfect He will be my tattoo designer for life. Thanks Danny!!! read more

Another awesome and successful tattoo with Danny! He was amazing and patient, just like my first tattoo appointment with him. I've been going to Danny for years and he's done all my tattoos. He's done my half sleeve, back tattoo, wrist tattoos and my left deltoid tattoo. Danny is creative and talented in every sense of the word. I've always had ideas of what I wanted and Danny's been able to bring my ideas to life. His artistic creativeness is beyond measure and quite honestly, he will be the only one I would go to. It takes trust to have someone permanently ink you, and Danny has that trust. If Danny were to ever leave California, you can bet I would travel the distance just to get work done. Thank you Danny, I've gotten millions of compliments and have referred several people your way! read more

I just had a quote tattoo done by Danny and I'm in LOVE with it! The lines are so sharp and solid and he really took the time to make sure that the tattoo was perfect. I have wanted to get a tattoo for a long time but was nervous to take that step. Well, I am proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I researched tattoo artists in the Sunnyvale--Mountain View area and found Danny and was impressed with all the positive reviews. Being a tattoo virgin and a nurse, I focused on the comments regarding Danny's approach and technique. I made an appointment for a consult and was extremely impresses with his patience and ability to educate on the finer points of tattooing so I decided to move forward. Well, Danny designed my request perfectly, melding my celtic heritage with my love for my horses, and I am now the proud owner of my "first" tattoo for my 66th birthday. So I never do reviews, but I chose Danny partly based on Yelp reviews, so really it's only fair I do my part. :) If you're looking to get your first tattoo, if you have any anxiety, if you're intimidated by the process or the tattoo artists you've encountered elsewhere, if you're overwhelmed by all the choices out there... look no further, because this is your safe place. Danny is such a nice guy, very organized and professional, and he made the process so easy. He gets booked fast, but he is worth the wait. I so appreciate the time he spent designing and customizing my tattoo, walking me through everything, answering all my questions, giving suggestions, and not being condescending at all about it. And he was just cool to talk to. I couldn't ask for a better tattoo experience, especially as a first-timer. I'm basically spoiled now, sorry other tattoo shops, y'all lost your chance. ;) TL;DR: Danny's a freakin rock star and you won't regret going with him. Thank you so much Danny!! read more

My first time here. I found Chapter Tattoo on Yelp, looked at the reviews but also Danny's work. I have to say that from my first communication with him, through my appointment today to get my tattoo, I have seldom come across someone as professional as he is. I had a tattoo design in mind for several years and I am so glad that I made the choice to go ahead with it with Danny. Chapter Tattoo is clean and safe environment and Danny's manner and attitude inspired confidence from the start. The end result was even better than I had envisioned and true to tattoo design. I have had several tattoos done at different places and this was the best experience that I have had. I do have a few other tattoos planned and now I know who is going to do them. Definitely recommending Chapter Tattoo to family and friends. So grateful to Danny for the awesome experience. read more

Danny gave me the best tattoo experience I could have asked for! I found him through yelp and was very encouraged with the positive reviews he'd already received. Once I contacted him, we scheduled a consultation at his shop so he could get a clear understanding of exactly what I wanted to get done. The entire consultation he was very friendly and open minded, and he took several notes and made a few rough sketches. We then set a time for the following week. Danny is a great communicator and gave me several updates with his progress on the sketch for my tattoo. The tattoo experience itself was also really great! Danny explained his entire setup to me and made sure to show me that all the needles were brand new and unopened. He was very thorough in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, constantly changing gloves and washing his hands throughout the entire appointment. He was pleasant and engaged the entire time and checked in with me regularly to ask my comfort level. He even provided numbing spray to help take the edge off the pain. Also his friendly and upbeat presence made the 7 hours pass by relatively quickly. Overall I could not be happier with my tattoo or the experience of getting it!! Danny is friendly, professional, super talented and the shop is very clean. His prices are reasonable and his work is absolutely spectacular! I will definitely be back for more tattoos in the future!! read more
