I'd been looking to get a new tattoo for years now and was turned on to Current Tattooing by…read moresomeone that I work with. Went to visit the shop and immediately got a good vibe from the shop and the people that work there, despite the artist I wanted to see not being there. Got in contact with the artist I wanted to see (Daniel Dagones) through his instagram page, made an appointment for a consultation and went over my idea for a very significant tattoo, where I wanted it placed and he took the idea and ran with it. I didn't see any kind of sketch from him before I went in to get my tattoo done and when I saw the des he'd come up with, I was blown away as it was exactly what I'd asked for. Over the next few hours, he expertly worked on my piece while the conversation flowed and at the end of our first session, this is what I walked out of the shop with. I'm beyond happy and satisfied with my experience at Current Tattooing and am very much looking forward to going back and having my piece completed!

I always knew that I wanted a tattoo of flowers. I've searched for a tattoo artist, but I couldn't…read morefind anyone who could tattoo the flower that I wanted. It was only until I saw my cousin's portrait tattoo that I knew I found my tattoo artist at Da Wei Tattoo. There are a lot of skilled tattoo artists and then there is Da Wei. There aren't enough words to describe how talented Da Wei is. He is a unique tattoo artist; he is a creator. I appreciate how passionate Da Wei is with his work. Da Wei is not intimidating or pretentious at all, despite having so many tattoo awards! He is friendly and personable. I feel like I'm at home at his tattoo shop. As his guest, I'm a co-creator instead of another customer. Da Wei helps me translate my vision into real-life through beautiful and intricate artwork. He always goes above and beyond to research and curate and present the perfect tattoo. I love peeking inside his office to see what concepts he is working with and what he's creating next. As a creator, Da Wei is light on his fingers. He is gentle, careful, and considerate. He always makes sure that I feel comfortable and that I'm confident with his work before, during, and after my tattoo sessions. Da Wei is also communicative and transparent. Each session is like another consultation. He will let me know if something will or won't work. He also makes suggestions, but is neither pushy about it. I never regretted any of his suggestions; that's how much I trust him! Da Wei chose the perfect placement for my tattoo where I can appreciate and admire it. I love the details of each individual lily. Each lily has its own characteristics and beauty. The colors are also vibrant and compliments not only my complexion, but my personality. I had a hard time searching for a tattoo artist because flower tattoos were considered too basic. It's true; flowers are simple. Anyone can tattoo a flower, but it takes a special kind of artist like Da Wei to turn something common into something classic. The most skilled chefs are the ones who've mastered the foundational sauces. I know that my tattoo is one-of-a-kind because Da Wei created it with his vision, my vision, and personality in mind. Da Wei Tattoo is not a one stop tattoo shop, it is a gallery of lifetime artwork. You'll know what I'm talking about once you visit the shop.

As I approached Inkdica, I felt a wave of skepticism. I had never seen a tattoo shop located in a…read morecommercial area before. Yet the moment I ascended the stairs, my doubts began to fade. The walls were adorned with beautiful, ancient-inspired drawings and posters that immediately captured my attention. I was warmly greeted by two artists, one of whom was the owner, Thien. I shared my tattoo idea with him, but he gently explained that it wasn't quite aligned with his personal style. Disappointed, I turned to leave--until Thien introduced me to the other artist he had been speaking with. This artist sat down with me, listened intently to my vision, and began searching through images on his iPad that perfectly resonated with what I had in mind. (Unbeknownst to me at the time, he wasn't just assisting Thien--he was a highly skilled tattoo artist himself.) Having come to America from Vietnam as a young adult, he discovered his passion for tattooing and sought guidance from seasoned artists on how to begin. That journey led him to study academic drawing, where he immersed himself in the world of Greek mythology. When he showed me the artwork he created during that period, I was truly stunned--his technical skill and artistic vision were extraordinary. The artist Thien introduced me to is Tai, a true specialist in realism. In over 20 years of getting tattoos, I have never met an artist quite like Tai. Unlike my previous experiences, where I simply provided a reference photo, Tai took a deeply personal and professional approach. He conducted his own research, regularly texted me thoughtful image suggestions, and carefully curated concepts that captured the essence of my idea. This level of dedication and artistry is what I admire most about him. When he presented the final layout for my tattoo--"Hades, Ruler of the Underworld, with his three-headed guardian Cerberus"--positioned perfectly on my leg, I was speechless. The composition, detail, and elegance were beyond anything I had imagined. Tai, this is by far the most elegant, beautifully detailed, and breathtaking piece of art on my body. I am incredibly grateful to have met you and to have placed my trust in your hands. I look forward to our future collaborations and the remarkable creations you will undoubtedly bring to life. You are a true master of your craft--a tattoo genius mastermind.

The detail in the eagle's wings, the shading on the globe, and the banner with Semper Fidelis look unreal. The placement is perfect and the artwork looks bold, clean, and meaningful. He made sure I was comfortable and checked in throughout the session. If you want someone who respects the meaning behind your tattoo and has the skill to elevate it, this is the artist you want. I'm proud of this piece every time I look at it. I will be coming back for another tattoo real soon. Semper Fi.
