I hired them to remove a detached 18 x 18-foot cedar sunroom that was mounted on five beams and anchored to 14 concrete posts buried four feet deep. It was a serious project, but they handled it with confidence and care. They hauled away over 6,000 pounds of material with minimal impact to the surrounding yard--just as I'd requested. Frank was patient during the permitting process, communicated clearly throughout, and treated my property as if it were his own. His attention to detail was outstanding. Courteous, professional, hard-working, and excellent craftsmen…read more We had done a bathroom renovation with another contractor previously and it was just short of a disaster. So when we did our kitchen I wanted as little stress as possible and Delta Star Group delivered. When we were vetting possible new contractors it was Renata's eye that caught our attention. She reviewed our kitchen she noticed tiny imperfections that I didn't even notice, and I pride myself in being a stickler for noticing detail like that. In the same breath Renata would then immediately explain how she would fix the problem and not allow it in the kitchen they finish. When work started it was straight forward with absolutely no surprises. They finished the work in the time they said they would and I didn't have to go back and check their work and ask them to fix something I didn't like, I didn't notice anything out of place or sloppy. Not one thing in 5 weeks of work. They took EXTREME care to make it as painless for me as possible. Everything was covered in plastic, and every day after doing a lot of work Jiri would walk up and down three flights of stairs to remove any garbage that he could take out along with usually doing a quick vacuum of the area and moving his equipment out of the way so it wasn't all over my house. When the countertop people left a gap between the floor and counter, Jiri filled it without me asking and it looks great. When we wanted a last minute change to our pantry door, they actually built us a new door out of materials from the cabinets and it looks amazing! They even took a trip out to ikea with us to hold our hand while making the final decision on some cabinets and countertop and gave us some useful expert advice on what to do. These were all details I appreciated and I thought it showed that they were willing to go above and beyond. Turns out that that's just business as usual for Delta Star Group, they won't have it any other way. I will never go to any other contractor while I live in the Chicago area. Delta Star Group's work can only be described as impeccable. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail is exactly what I want in my contractor. I cannot recommend these people enough.

Re-built porch...crown molding throughout the main floor...renovated bathroom and powder room...kitchen backsplash...and most recently, a totally renovated basement. Jiri truly is a master craftsman with an eye for detail and perfection that is simply uncanny. Similarly, Renata has a remarkable ability to understand and appreciate our aesthetic, and connect us with the retailers and designers to match that vision. They are incredibly patient, responsive, and just really, really nice! Whenever problems arise (which in a house this old they always do), Jiri and Renata ensure that the problem gets resolved quickly and cost effectively, which attenuates the pain of the unexpected. Among other projects in our home, Jiri and Renata have recreated a post-deco upstairs bathroom, and matched the front porch and bannisters to the pre-craftsman era of the exterior. For the recent basement project, we decided to meld both modern and vintage elegance with maximum functionality. They were able to re-build our stairs (to code), add new windows, create a comfortable media room with fireplace and built-in audio, a music room for our grand piano, a modern office space, a guest bedroom with en suite and steam shower, a laundry room, and enough storage to meet our needs. In the process, we got a new furnace and duct work, hot water heater, updated electrical, and insulation. We're just as excited by what we don't see as by what we do see! I can't recommend Delta Star highly enough. We would never consider working with any other Chicago contractor. We trust their knowledge, experience, and expertise one hundred percent. Knowing the quality and craftsmanship that Jiri and Renata bring to the table alleviates the anxiety that goes with any home project.
