Curlys Carpet Repair delivered and went above and beyond. I had no idea carpet stretching was such an artform and it really helps that Pablo has over thirty years of experience. Watching him work you can see that carpet stretching is like chess - it really helps to have a plan and to think a few steps ahead. I was in a bind. I needed carpet stretching and cleaning and I was referred to a company. After a few days I got a reply and a quote from this other company and the quote did not include anything for carpet stretching. I asked if the carpet stretching was included in the quote and they said that they only do cleaning. Now I needed the stretching done asap. It was Friday night and I searched the internet for a carpet stretching expert. I found Curlys and he had great reviews so I called the number at about 9:30 pm. I was expecting to get an answering machine but to my surprise Pablo picked up the phone. From the questions he was asking me about the type of flooring (radiant heat) and my description of the rooms, I could tell that he knew what he was talking about - his experience was clear to me. He said he had jobs lined up and that the earliest he could do it was later in the week. I said I appreciated his time but that I wanted to find someone who could do it sooner. Later that evening Pablo called me back and said that he could do it on Saturday! Long story short, Pablo came on Saturday morning, did the job, and I am extremely happy with the results. Pablo has all of the right equipment, not just the kicker, but the carpet stretcher with the long extensions that go to the other side of the room for pulling the carpet really tight, It was a really complicated job with two adjoining rooms with a continuous carpet and a big solid oak desk in one room that was too big to be moved out the door (it must have been assembled on site). This desk would be a challenge for 4 people to lift but Pablo had these sliders which allowed him to move the desk around the room as he worked on the carpet. I believe a less experienced person would have had a hard time with this job, but Pablo was up to the challenge. In addition to the two rooms, Pablo also stretched the carpet on some of my stairs. I would not hesitate to hire Pablo again, but I think I won't need to at this house anytime soon. All the carpets are looking great now. I know a lot more now than I did before about carpet stretching and when Pablo quoted me how much it would cost it kind of shocked me, but having seen the quality of the work, and understanding what needs to be done to stretch a carpet properly, I think the price quoted was fair. Just saying this because you might also be surprised about how much carpet stretching costs, but your carpet will look much nicer, and I truly believe, at least when it comes to carpet stretching with Pablo, you get what you pay for. Pablo accepts credit cards but he charges for the handling fee, so I paid by cheque. read more

I had an emergency last Friday morning with my stairs collapsing and I needed someone urgently take the carpet off, fix the stairs and get the carpet in place the same. We needed to repair to holes left in our new wool carpet after removing a closet. I wish I had known we were going to do that BEFORE laying brand new high end wool carpet. Anyways, luckily we had a bunch left over and Pablo was able to repair the holes better than expected. I needed the work done asap at our Vancouver home, and Pablo came over on a Saturday, the day before he was leaving on vacation. He was on time, in a good mood and worked hard. The carpeting was bubbling and had a significant fold that was a tripping hazard. He explained that the problem was caused by a poor original installation. The carpet was not sufficiently stretched. He took the carpet up, used the proper (larger and more powerful) stretcher, fixed and improved the carpet strips, and cut off the excess carpeting. Once he finished, I could not tell where the original bubbles and folds had been. It was perfectly flat and smooth. I was very pleased and recommend him highly. read more

Our rec room was flooded and a big patch of wall-to-wall carpet had to be pulled back and dried out. I called Curly's to come and put the carpet back. I selected Curly's because of the good reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Pablo came when he said he would and he did a good job. The job was quite a bit bigger than what he expected but he brought in a lot of equipment and got to work. It took him several hours and it was quite expensive but it looks good now. He suggested other things that could be done to improve the lay of the carpet and to reduce wear and tear on the stairs. I would recommend him for any kind of carpet repair. read more

I had two areas in my home with stains beyond repair. I couldn't stand it anymore so I googled carpet repair and up cam Curlys Carpet repair. After reading many positive reviews I gave him a call and like the other reviewers stated he arrived at my door the next day. I have a newer home with carpet that is of higher value and on top of that has a pattern in it which increased the complexity of the job. He and his assistant Tim got to work right away to replace the areas that were damaged. They didn't stop until the job was completed (about 6 1/2 hours!) and I was the second job of their day. Pablo works hard, is timely and will meet or exceed your expectations. Its not cheap to have the work I needed done, but its cheaper than the alternative of full carpet replacement.
