This is the best Jamaican food I've had in Palm beach county & that's coming from a very picky Jamaican. First of all, the 7.99 lunch special ? A HIT. I paid $18 for a small soup , a lunch special fried chicken & a d&g soda that's a steal in this economy & the food was delicious. The soup had the right amount of spice & flavor, the fried chicken was fresh & tasty. I'll definitely be back to try other menu items. It didn't seem like a place to dine in & the man at the counter told me to call in my order next time especially at lunch time.

First time to try authentic Jamaican food here in FL. It is very flavorful and tender oxtail . The jerk chicken is also delicious. Wasn't be able to take a photo of the spicy beef empanada which i also find good. Will be ordering here again .

Best jamaican around. And I lovvvve me my oxtails and Patty's. I wish they'd have chiken Patty's but I settle for the spicy beef anyway. Quick and reasonable take out. A must try.

I went to Curly's on a whim, and it turned out to be one of the best Caribbean restaurants in the area that I've visited. I decided to try Curly's based on the excellent reviews, and I highly recommend checking out their lunch specials; affordable and delicious! The owner was very kind and even let us try the festival (fried cornbread), which was amazing!! Give them a try; you won't be disappointed. And to make things easier for them, consider calling in your order! Ambiance - bit small, mostly to-go orders but they still have bar stools and high tops!

Best fried chicken ever. Jerk chicken is also good. Served by the pound. Suggest you call ahead to place your order. I have not tried anything else yet. Friendly service. Definitely recommend

Curry chicken and empanadas are finger licking delicious!! If those dishes are any indication, the rest of their menu is bound to be as good. Also excellent selection of beverages beyond typical soda offerings.

Something about rude phone services from a Caribbean spot makes me expect good food. So the service isn't rude as much as it is direct. You walk in (especially during lunch hours and first question will be, "did you call ahead?" Also expect they will quickly run out of your favorites! (Coworker raves about the goat - no way can I have that during lunch and not have a nap til the morning.) Sweet conch meat meets fiery chili peppers in this aromatic stew. Long simmering tenderizes the shellfish and results in a soup, laden with chunks of succulent conch meat and vegetables. Yasss when I see it has plantains! Some would think this would be perfect for winter (it is). But conch soup just feels right in the summer with a few fried dumplings to go. When thinking about lunch Call Ahead Call Ahead Call Ahead Call Ahead

The gentleman at the front was so kind and thoughtful. It was my first time and I was I wasn't sure if I wanted the brown stew chicken or the jerk chicken. Without hesitating he offered if I would like to sample each. Both was so good I got the jerk chicken with brown stew gravy lol. The service was fast and the food was delicious! Being Jamaican myself it's always hard to find good authentic food here, but they nailed it !!!

There's extra vegetables in the dishes. The macaroni salad was to die for. The herbs were right on. The peas and rice were so tasty. I had to hold back from eating more and filling up. Complementary fried plantains were added to the order. The jerk chicken was incredibly tender and there was spicy sauce on the side, added to the chicken. We had not eaten oxtails before. Go figure! They were so Tender and falling off the bone. The sauce was excellent with added carrots and butter beans. So good. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes they offer. Service: Very friendly and attentive. Most people seem to order and carry out. We chose to eat in and they went out out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Ambience: Again, it's more of a carryout restaurant, but the restaurant itself is very clean and inviting. When I go back, I would like to sit down and eat in the restaurant with its colorful decor and reggae playing on the speakers again. Really enjoyed eating there and watching people go in and out with their takeout orders.

I followed my coworker to this Jamaican restaurant for lunch--and let me start with a disclaimer: if you plan on being productive after eating here, don't. Just take the rest of the day off now. I ordered the $10 fried chicken lunch special with extra gravy, rice and peas, and macaroni salad and washed it down with a pineapple ginger juice. Baby... I was FULL full. The kind of full where your laptop starts looking optional. I was overworked, overfed, and ready to slam my laptop shut and resume life Monday morning. The food was so good and so filling that I didn't even eat dinner that night. I had a cup of tea and went straight to bed--peacefully and without regret. All jokes aside, the food is excellent. Authentic Caribbean cooking, fresh, flavorful, and made with love--the kind that tastes like your Caribbean mother or grandmother cooked it herself. The service was wonderful, and the portions are generous. Whether you order a regular entrée or a lunch special, you will leave satisfied. Check them out--just don't say I didn't warn you. If you eat this for lunch, you are not working the rest of the day.

Be prepared to wait during lunchtime since it gets very crowded. Unfortunately, this recent visit in January may be my last. I ordered the stew peas and a half pound of jerk pork to go. The dining area is very open, and with the heavy lunch crowd, it felt uncomfortable having people standing so close while food was being served and packed. While the stew peas was okay, the jerk pork looked good but was dry and not tender at all. Even more concerning, by the second day the pork had developed a bad smell, which was very disappointing. I've always enjoyed coming here in the past, so this experience was upsetting. I hope they can improve the food quality and overall dining setup because this place has had a strong reputation for years.

Tasted just like any ol crock pot meat. Now, I've primarily been in Texas the last four months and prior to that, hadn't eaten at G K Dumplin a month or so prior but it was good. New cook or something? They need new training or let go and I don't feel a way about saying that cause the oxtails tasted like they didn't have any seasoning! And the veggies were wayyy too crunchy. Like barely any softness; I'm not used to them ever being cooked to tender but today was just ridiculous. I just remembered they didn't even include my plantains in my oxtails. And the jerk chicken lunch was disappointing. Great price, two pieces of "jerk chicken" with the sides, and a can drink. However, I ordered the chicken with oxtail gravy and what I got tasted like bbq chicken. Meat was tender but if I want bbq chicken, I'd go to a bbq restaurant. Service was off today as well. I waited a minute for the lady to get off the phone. She apologized and for some reason, I wasn't irritated but it was a while so I was definitely heading towards it. Please bring the old tried and true flavors back!

By next week we'll be approaching our 100th visit. UPDATE: Dropped in today because ai had a serious craving for THEIR curry goat. Decided on the mini because my cravings only require a few spoonfuls to be satisfied. I was shocked at how filling it was. For $6.36 that little box packs a serious amount of food for one person. A small isn't even needed. Also came with a drink! ----------------------------------------------------- Judged by previous reviews, I decided to drop into this place to get my own experience. Firstly, the location is great and conveniently next to Target at the corner of 441 & Okechobee. Clean, well-maintained plaza, and this was also mimicked inside the restaurant. Not much seating for a large crowd, but enough, along with the bar area. The girl at the front was very friendly which was appreciated, while the gentleman there didn't care so much - maybe not one of his best days. Ordered the (s) jerk chicken with goat gravy and it was incredibly good. Very well seasoned and done well on the jerk grill. I couldnt get enough of the little goat gravy on the rice, so I had to return the following day for the curry goat with white rice (l). I LOVED the slaw/cabbage veggie as it had a hint of sweetness to it which reminded me that the much needed plantains were missing - on both day 1 and day 2. Jamaicans do not like to eat without plantains so please honor the menu and always have it. The goat was excellent- buttery, well seasoned and delicious. I couldnt stop eating but had to, because the large was a lot. I was able to sufficiently share with my husband. I also added the rum cake with the promise that it was "great rum cake" -- very far from it. For $4, I could and will continue to live without the rum cake. It was nothing worth mentioning- except here. The price on the remaining items weren't bad, but I was blown away to discover that their mini was $6+, and is the size of the little white styrofoam restaurant desert box. Pro: Impressed that the jerk chicken was so well flavored, not dry, and done on a real grill (take notes other J'can restaurant), Id return every single day for the curry, keep up the polite attitude as customers really don't have to accept any less. Cons: Really defeated by the absence of PLANTAINS on both days, $4 rum cake wasn't worth the price. (These were so critical that they devalued the restaurant, rendering only 4 stars) Closing: This is officially my go-to Jamaican restaurant in WPB!
