This was on a small lake with outdoor seating and good-sized bar indoors. The menu had many…read morechoices to choose from. The service was alright, and the food came out in a timely manner. The water did taste a little funny just to note. For appetizers, the loaded potato skins ($14.99) and wings with honey BBQ sauce ($14.99) were ordered. The potato skins were filled with Applewood bacon, sweet onions, green peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and melted Cheddar Jack cheese. These were very tasty. They were definitely loaded with all of the toppings. I do not recall seeing peppers, onions, and mushrooms on a potato skin before, but they did wonders with the bacon and cheese. The wings were very saucy. There were eight appropriate size wings. They could have been crispier. For an entrée, the Michigan whitefish ($26.99) was ordered. It also came with a side, and I chose the string beans, which were outstanding. They were crispy with plenty of garlic. The whitefish was seasoned with Parmesan crusted spices. The fish was of good size and cooked well. It just lacked seasoning as it needed a little more. Will I go back? Probably.

Won't be back, and I suggest you all avoid this place also…read more Restaurant So we're seated in the far corner next to the swamp, not waterfront, swamp. The walls were dirty. The windows were dirty. We had a good view of snakes and spiders and just a swamp. Service Like a lot of people are saying the wait staff here at this place is definitely rough. Not nice. Don't seem to really be too interested in customer service. That should've been the tip for us to leave right then. Food We both got the ribeye sandwich. It really should've been called a grilled cheese sandwich with grease that tastes like meat. You can see in the pictures. This is what they served us. This is what they were proud of. This is what they're saying bring the family home is their motto? For what, a greasy grilled cheese that taste like crap for $18.99 and you gotta pay $4 dollars more to get fries. We took a couple of bites and then we brought it home. And then we threw it away. Cost So here's the end of it. $18.99 for each sandwich. They weren't worth much more than five bucks. If that. Then you have to pay more for fries. And four dollars for an iced tea. I'm attaching our bill... 52 bucks plus tip out the door. Let's just say it was pretty much 52 bucks. I didn't tip much on this gig. Summary Waterfront restaurant is a swamp and not Lake Cadillac as you would expect. Customer service that is lacking for sure Food just sucks and not even worth the cost at all. They obviously don't care about keeping their restaurant clean or about serving food that customers actually like and they're proud to serve. $52 for two sandwiches and two drinks. We are locals here to Cadillac and I will never stop foot in this place again. We've been here once before and we left because we didn't even have anybody come and wait on us after we were seated. I don't know why we went back this time, but we won't be going again. I suggest all you people coming up here to enjoy the great up north don't spoil your vacation by stopping in to Burke's Waterfront.

I really liked the GF pizza crust. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, but served on the pizza crust. The crust was good and chewy--chewy bread is rare for GF diners. Servers were attentive, atmosphere was conducive to conversation. I would go again next time I'm in Cadillac.

After exploring other restaurants around lately, we decided to give the Clam a try again. Glad we did. Service Our waitress was great. Patient while we decided and helped with our lunch choices. Food We got a Rodeo burger and the Chicken Quesadillas. Both were really good. The spicy Rodeo sauce for the burger was nice. Chicken quesadillas was plentiful and really good. Price Compared to other places around the Clam was reasonably priced. Especially considering the dishes were tasty. Restaurant The Clam had a nice feel. Tables spaced nicely. Everything looked clean. You can be seated outside on the sidewalk cafe if you'd like. Nice place. Summary We'll be back. I'll be trying the pizza next. It looked great and seems that it was a popular choice. Considering so many tourist trap restaurants around Cadillac and Lake City, the Clam seems to be a good go to.

Down home decor, friendly, GREAT service, full bar (reasonably priced-had two shots of 1792 bourbon that were VERY well priced), and AMAZING food! Speaking of amazing food, here is what we had... Potato leek soup: it had just been St Patrick's Day, so they were still offering some themed items. The soup was VERY fresh, had a very pleasant aftertaste, and the potatoes were fresh. Rich, but not too rich. Just the right balance. Onion Rings: WOW! Fantastic, and huge! Beer battered mushrooms: Equally as good as the onion rings. What I also loved about these (and the onion rings) is that they tasted just as good the next day either heated up or even ice cold. They were THAT good Turkey Catamaran Club: My wife loved this. Triple decker sandwich with very fresh and tasty smoked turkey, bacon, and mayo. My wife is not big on leftovers, but liked this so much she was sure to finish half on site and the other half the next day. Boat Builders Burger: 1/3 of a lb of ground chuck medium rare (they cooked it perfectly) with some Swiss on top. Probably the best burger I've had in the last few years. All of the above for WELL under $100. Even tipping quite generously (our server deserved it-she was a sweetheart) we still didn't come near $100. Can't wait to come back here next time we travel up north. Fantastic place.
