After being 12 hours north for 3 months taking care of my mother diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, I was in dire need of a haircut and looking forward to it.
Tania, one of the many 20 something year olds, has been cutting my hair for years. It being short, it usually takes no longer than 10-15 mins. I made my hair apt and was told not to show up before 11:30am as she was busy.
We do not all live with our parents, own a car (or even drive for that matter) so I was stuck on a detoured bus which was late, then was running through traffic. I knew I was a little late, but I didn't expect for them to turn me away the way they did. Tania was too busy after 15-20 mins and was extremely rude about it. Especially when it usually only takes 10-15 mins for a cut. The owner was standing right there, other workers were in, customers getting highlights and all the bells and whistles all within ear shot watching.
Trusting just anyone to cut a short, trendy style is not something I am wiling to risk with just anyone. And the customer service I received being told "Someone can give me a haircut later that day on their time (public transit yet again), and just tell whomever it is that would be cutting my hair what I want done,?.".
I guess age, looks and what I pay wasn't good enough for just a haircut.
At 36, after being turned away I was ashamed, embarrassed and humiliated. Thanks Curl Up And Dye Brampton!
It was shameful to be talked down to and treated this way ESPECIALLY in front of other customers and workers. The owner, Teresa (I believe is her name), stood there saying nothing!! Good thing this is a big city with many other beauty salons, who have up to date customer reviews and business info.
I can't express enough how I was made to feel so humiliated or degraded!
