I was…read morevisiting Toronto from the U.S. on a work related trip and was desperate for hot water so paid the full $85 ($90 with tax) to get in for the last 45 minutes and was sorely disappointed. The sauna was barely warm. The main pool was luke warm; albeit relaxing to move in, as I was the only one using it. The supposed "hot" pool was not warmer than my hottub at home that we keep at 104, so must've only been around 101 my guess. And yes, the 2 other women that were there were chatting up a storm, so not your relaxing, spa type environment. The staff, though, were very kind and helpful. I'd say if you have time and the same amount of money, head an hour east to Thermea spa, which is well worth the time and money!

I booked a 30 minute therapeutic massage at 12:45 pm with female RMT Chris, which cost about $130 total. They told me to come about 1 hour before check in to enjoy the complimentary water pools. I would strongly recommend going before 12 or 1 pm om weekdays cause it gets more crowded and loud afterwards. I dont think weekends are advisable due to all the other reviews I read. When I went, only 8-10 women were in the spa and that was enough for me. If you have never been like me, they can give you a little 2 minute tour. Once you are inside the spa area, on the right side you will see a locker room to change and put your things away (they give you a locker key), a vanity room to get ready (hair dryer, hair brush, q-tips, cotton pads, hair ties are provided), and a washroom. Their are also slippers you can use (see inside cabinets) and you will get a face towel, body towel and robe. They have 3 pools (cold, warm and hot), a sauna and steam room. Be sure to do a quick body rinse before going in. You can do their suggested water circuit. I did one full circuit but then went to steam room again. I then took shower in preparation of my massage. If you want to continue water circuit after beauty service you will have to wash off any oils and creams used before going back in again. For my massage, they take you into a private room in another quiet zone area. Chris was pretty good, I wanted to focus on my shoulders and neck. Maybe lower back if there was time. I found she was going to light and asked her for deeper pressure which really worked out the knots. She didnt have time to properly do my lower back tho which was fine cause I only did 30 mins. So if you need something similar, I recommend 45 or 1 hour massage appointment so she can do full body. Note for improvement, I did notice they have filtered water fountians but I think they could have done cucumber or lemon water as a nicer touch. They do have a juice bar though, I tried their Vitamin D smoothie which was popular there. Overall, I wouldn't mind returning if I wanted to treat myself but it's very similar to the Korean jimjilbang (sauna) in the sense that its very communal like. A bit higher end but not as much variety as some Korean saunas. If you rather save money and are more focused on pools then I suggest Korean sauna. If you want a massage like me and water pools is a nice extra then this could be a good spot.

I'm so glad I was able to do two sessions here and honestly, I think about this place every day. The guides here are so special. The concept of other ship is contrast therapy: there is sauna, and cold plunge. But it's unlike any contrast therapy I've done. It's a 75 minute class where you go in and your swimsuit and it's coed. You take part in a version of Aufguss - a sauna where they break balls of ice infused with delicious essential oils. I took a Gacha class where you do lymphatic drainage and then I also took a heart opener class. They also have free flow where there's no guide. The cold plunge is really special - you get paired up but if the class is small you can go alone. I've cold plunged a lot, and this experience transformed me. I was able to stay really, really calm and have a euphoric experience. The guides also use a tuning fork after the cold plunge to get you to calm the nervous system. The shower and changing room is not ideal for anyone that wants to go about their day after the experience but other than that, I wish I lived in Toronto to do this daily. The staff is also super friendly. They gave me their signature incense for my first visit. I love, love this place.

It is like meditating in the sense that it takes practice to calm your mind even when you're in complete darkness. It was a cool experience overall and i'd do it again every few months when I need a little reset. I felt weightless! The staff are super friendly & explained everything to me. She was very patient. I love that each floating cabin has their own private room, shower etc. There's a communal area to dry your hair. They have lotion, leave-in conditioner, deodorant, robes, ear plugs, slippers etc. You literally only need to bring yourself. You don't even need a bathing suit because they encourage to go in nude. The pod had a nice calming purple-blue light & relaxing music. You can adjust the music volume but not the lighting, it's either on or off. You can leave the door open if you feel claustrophobic but I didn't feel that way. The temperature was warm (both air and water) after the first 5 minutes. When you first enter the water, you're still adjusting and it was my abdomen that was cold as it was above the surface. I'd just gently wave water over it when I got too cool for comfort. But after that initial phase, I wasn't cold at all. It was very clean inside the private rooms although I did book the first spot in the morning. Tips: Please read the instructions before you book! You can't shave within 24 hours, I'd wait an extra day more if you have sensitive skin. The salt is sooooo concentrated that all your cuts will burn. They do provide petroleum jelly as a barrier in case you do have micro cut or sensitive areas. 2) Salt water will burn your eyes. So be careful not to lift your head out of the water without closing your eyes (just in case some water trickles down your forehead). They give you a spray bottle with fresh water and a towel inside the cabin just in case this happens. It happened 3 times to me lol and it's effective. 3) Ear plugs if you don't want salt water in your ear. They were effective. I didn't get any water in. There's a vinegar rinse you spray into your ear to help rinse off the salt. 4) Relax. Be open to the experience. Be patient with yourself and your racing thoughts.

They provide you with a turkish wrap, robe, towels, and flip-flops for your visit so you don't need need bring too much with you on your visit. The use of their co-ed eucalyptus oil infused stream room (great for couples) is also complimentary with most services over $100. The exception are mainly a few facials as this can make your skin sensitive for the treatment. NEGATIVES: my experience here the past couple of years has been mixed, as the service is not as consistent as it used to be, the prices inflated quite a bit, and a lot of the staff appears to be changing more frequently than it used to. My rating for Hammam Spa fluctuates mostly between 3 and 4 based on my visits since the end of 2021 to the present. While the renovation is nice, the spa feels a little less cozy than it used to. I've also had a period of terrible service (with treatments and online orders) around the end of 2021 to early 2022, which made me take a break from this place, but things have improved since. They also recently replaced their plush white robes with shorter, thin robes made in the same fabric as their turkish wraps.

My feet were in foil and acetone for exactly 35 minutes while she worked and filed my hands - I had to speak up. I asked that before she began polishing my hands, I wanted my feet out of the acetone - it was already much too long a soak. Boy, she did not like me setting boundaries. She stopped working on my hands to removal the shellac polish from my toes, still not rinsing the acetone solution off, so I had to ask for her to run some water in the bin so I could wash it off. And I did rinse it off. This deepened her already dark mood. I could feel her negative energy seeping out. She returned to my hands after I washed my feet, and I noticed she was putting a top coat on after only one coat of opi Malaga Wine! I spoke up. I asked her why she was already putting a top coat on. Industry standard is 2 coats, I've never had a one coat manicure after 30 + years of polishing my nails - this is nonsense. What's happening here? She said none of her clients complain, the polish was very, very thick so one coat would do. This is so wrong. Ladies, you have to advocate for yourselves, this place will take advance of you in any way they can. Thick, goopy polish needs to be thinned, or, tossed. Open a new bottle for heavens sake, or recommend I choose another colour, perhaps. Nope. Over all, a very disappointing experience that cost me 3 hours sitting in a salon. It's possible it was a very bad day for the tech and she needed to take it out on someone, but I believe that they rely on people's general sense of politeness, and inability to speak up and advocate for themselves, when they are being taken advantage of. Would never return, nor would I recommend. (It really doesn't matter that it was only the one technician, the situation was managed poorly overall and that speaks volumes to their ethics in running their business) That said, my toes were polished nicely, and a second technician (re-)did a good job with my hands.

I booked a 60 min massage with Erin after work. Prior to going to your session, it is advised that you fill in the intake form to save time. Day of the appointment, I went to RMT Studio 10 min before my massage. About 5 min after settling in and sitting down my RMT came to find me. Erin was extremely professional and listened to where I needed treatment most. She provided some suggestions in regards to what areas she could work on and gave me a choice on what to choose. During the massage, if you are not comfortable with being full unclothed, you are free to be clothed. The 60 massage went by so quickly. I found that the pressure wasn't as strong as other massages I've done previously. However, the night of and days after that I felt how effective the massage was. Erin definitely worked on the areas I asked her to and can't wait to return for the massage I booked in Nov again! Reasonable prices, knowledgeable massage therapists, beautiful relaxing space, and effective massages to target your problem areas. They also do direct billing as well for some insurance companies but they will send you a receipt afterwards if you'd like to claim insurance for other insurance providers. Definitely recommend RMT Studio!
