And bangs well looking at my forehead or so long every time it was up, which was all the time. Made me want bangs. Glad I did it. The stylist was awesome. Very calming. The online booking system doesn't even provide a bang trim option. I get prioritizing full cut and colour apts for the money but, from a customer service perspective this is terrible treatment. Wow, Liz and Sumi certainly worked their magic on my hair. My appointment started out with a thorough consultation to understand my hair type, my face type and how I style my hair on a daily basis. Then, we proceeded to a trim to the side of my head and at the back of my head. Sumi asked lots of great questions and walked through every step of the process to make sure I was aware of the procedures and communicated what was going on, which I really did appreciate. Then, we proceeded to the application of the solution which was pretty cool as it was 3-person teamwork project to apply solution while putting my hair into curls. It was actually a fun experience. The final reveal of my hair was amazing. I was in awe of how my dull and boring thick black horn could look naturally shaped with the curls. The style was clean and smart and the staff provided helpful tips to ensure that I can maintain my look for a long-term basis. I highly recommend this spot if this is your first or ongoing perm appointment. It was one of the most pleasant experiences, especially for this person who does not like sitting in a chair for long periods of time.

To say that I was hesitant is an under statement. At first I couldn't find the salon because it's actually called Jacobs hair salon. I had booked an appointment with Sara, I explained to Sara what cut I wanted sadly she wasn't able to give me that cut due to my hair being straight on top and curly mid scalp. I wanted to bring out as many of my curls out as possible (I love my curls) So Sara went to work in the most unconventional way that I have ever experienced (it was new to me) I don't think Sara used a comb or a brush, she started cutting and I had my fingers crossed under the cape. Long story short, I LOVED what Sara had done to my hair, exactly what I had asked for. I left super happy, I didn't want to write a review until I had been able to style my own hair. What wasn't expected was this time I'd be leaving with an Edward Scissorhands hack job. She has some skill but not consistent, apparently. I went back to get this resolved/adjusted but I strongly feel the onus was placed on me to make suggestions as to how to address the stylist's fail which resulted in a missing chunk of hair at my face and top layers 2 inches shorter than what we'd - mutually - decided on and a massive disconnect. The best practice would have been to consult the salon owners to give a second opinion when I came back, given she knew I was coming in with a problem. They do extensions at that salon and that could have been offered for what would have amounted to a small insert and not a free head of supermodel hair. Given I'm stuck with hours of additional work at my end amounting to more time out of my day and money on styling products the latter could have also been offered. My bangs were uneven and she couldn't even correct that minor imbalance without screwing up. The salon owner called to discuss which unfortunately was a complete defence of the stylist and lack of client respect. Apparently my getting a refund was supposed to be enough which hardly accommodates the months of dealing with a crappy service. Sure the salon comment will be something like "not a good fit" "miscommunication" as per my conversation with the owner or a suggestion I go elsewhere. I'm ahead of them on the last point.
