    Review Highlights - Pushpa's Esthetics

While getting your back waxed is never an enjoyable experience, it was fast, efficient, and for the most part quite bearable (yeah that was a pun).

It was absolutely amazing and very well priced! Sandra is the owner and she also performed our treatments. She was great. Very professional friendly and super knowledgeable. The location is easy to find but the actual door to the spa is a bit hidden among the other businesses. It is located within a strip of businesses on the 2nd floor. It is quite small but fairly cozy. There is only one treatment room for either single or couples. Sandra pays close attention to your needs so this works very well for her business. She offered refreshments while we were there and her personality is very warm and inviting. We definitely enjoyed our spa day and are looking forward to returning in the near future.

Nightmare Experience! 1) Tempsure Envy offered was a total waste of money. I was told it would "love it" and "so relaxing" and cost would be $450 for face and neck, I asked if Rupal (the owner) if she could add under my arm. The treatment was not pleasant, at times too hot on my skin and I told her to stop. After treatment I was charged $650 plus $350 for under arm (I was shocked at price!!!) and pressured to get a package of 5 treatments and then get one free. I could not afford it, this was crazy. I told her I can't afford the package, she was insisting to charge 1/3, but finally relented and charged 1/4 package price. I regret allowing her to charge my credit card (but is was hopeful to see a big difference in my skin) When I saw no difference and complained, she reduced to under arm to $249. I texted and emailed my lack of satisfaction and her charges. Finally after 2 months she agreed to refund the unused package price. I wanted a total refund and I am considering taking Rupal to small claims court. I think the treatment did not do anything to improve my skin and was a waste of $899 plus tax! My skin was flushed for an hour afterward the Tempsure Envy treatment, but no noticeable results the next day. Did nothing for under arms, neck or eye area. I am really unhappy. Complete waste of money!!! I asked for a total refund and she admitted it doesn't work on all people. I sent her screen shots of Civello salon website, package price of $337.50 for neck and face, and $175 for an additional large area. She didn't offer to price match. Go to Civello if you want to try Tempsure Envy for skin tightening, they are offering 1/2 price right now of posted price packages. 2) I also made the mistake of going to Rupal for skin tag removal. Salon smells like Indian food, no soothing music, uncomfortable wobbly treatment table, and I ended up sitting in a chair instead. Skin tag removal was a nightmare, no local anesthetic used, she had a numbing cream she tried at first but then stopped using, admitting numbing cream is ineffective. Hot poking needle burning tags off, I was yelping and squirming in pain. I needed frequent time out and breathing hard to overcome the pain. Smell of burning skin. I Rupal gave me an estimate of $600 for neck, chest, under arm and eye lids. The treatment was painful and I had enough, not all we're removed as promised and (many tags later healed and bumps are still there because they were not fully removed) Make sure you get a written quote before Rupal starts, and don't allow her to charge per tag. After the first skin tag removal procedure, I returned to get the remaining removed under my arm. I also had a few misses around my neck. Rupal said I had lots of tiny ones on my back that should be removed before they get larger. So I endured another torture session with no numbing cream. The shock was the price! She first added up the extra tags and tried to charge me $1200! I was shocked and she reduced to $940 plus tax! Other medi-spas charge $150 - 300 for skin tag removal. Rupal charged me $600 + $940 plus tax! And tags were not completely removed, bumps and scars remain where she attempted to remove them. She took photos of my back, I asked her for the photos so I can see what she did, confirm how many tags there were, how big they were and why she charged me so much. After numerous requests, she still refuses to provide photos. I also asked her for detailed invoice and finally did get them emailed. I am really unhappy with the results, the experience, the charges. I am considering taking Rupal to small claims court. I feel she scammed me. She offered to remove any remaining skin tags for free, but honestly I am too scared to go back.

The receptionist kept repeating to me 'the doctor only has so many spaces for medical appointments' when I told her I needed cancer screening. I told her I was disappointed that I have to wait six months. The receptionist said 'oh, well' and I could hear her shrug on the other end of the line. On a whim, I called a few days later to ask how long to wait for botox and was told I could get an appointment within a few days! Clearly, as others have said, this office only cares about making money on cosmetic procedures while leaving patients who may have a life threatening condition waiting. It is unethical and immoral to treat patients this way. I had my GP refer me to another derm and got an appointment in a month! Needless to say, I will never go to Kingsway again.

My doctor arranged an appointment with Dr. Alexis, where I was assigned an appointment in late August of 2017, almost 4 months later. I was not offered a choice of appointments, I was just assigned this date in late August. this date was probably the worst possible date for me, so in early August I called and rescheduled the appointment. The New appointment I was "assigned" was in late April, more than one year after the date I had gone to see my doctor. and 8 months from the date the appointment was given. seriously, a dermatology appointment 8 months in advance and over a year after I first went to my doctor about the warts. there are now 14 warts on my hands. setting an appointment that far in advance in unacceptable in every way. how dare they. In mid September of 2017, I called then and left a message saying that it is unacceptable of them to book an appointment so far in advance. the appointment should only take 10 minutes and i cant believe that they are incapable of seeing me sooner than April. I told them that if they do not reschedule me to some point within one month of this phone call I will absolutely file a complaint on Yelp about them. Today a week after I called them, my doctor called me. Apparently they claim that I have been making "threatening phone calls" apparently a threat to report them on Yelp is what they consider to be a "threatening phone call". Saying that to my doctor is a power trip. Because of that power trip I am reporting them here now. Do not do go to the Kingsway dermatology clinic. They dont care about you. they book appointments too far in advance to be of any use, and they over react when told that you will report them. This is as unprofessional as it gets, folks.

Luckily I got the last appointment but I recommend that you book ahead to get the time you want because they book up fast! I arrived for my appointment early to fill out a form and questionnaire and was offered a beverage while I did. When I was done I was greeted by Dee who was the esthetician. Dee was lovely and knowledgeable. She started with a skin consult and talked to me about my skin care routine. Then she made a recommendation to add a collagen mask which was an additional $40. I agreed to it as it was my birthday and I wanted to treat myself, however be prepared to be upsold on the intro pricing. She used Dermalogica products which seemed nice. A warming scrub and a few different masks. She also offered eyebrow threading which I was due for but in hindsight wasn't a good idea. It was painful and my eyebrows were done too thin for my liking. At the end she left the room to allow me to get together. I has eye makeup all over my eyes that luckily I wiped with a tissue before leaving the room or I wouldn't have realized. I wasn't offered the washroom or a mirror. Once I arrived back at the front, Dee showed me a couple of products she recommended for my skin. She didn't pressure me but said they would save them on file for future reference. I later looked them up and the ingredients lists weren't impressive. Both products contained dimethicone which is terrible for your skin but creates the look of smooth texture. I would expect that from cheaper products but not from products that were approximately $100 each. I was better skin, not better looking skin. All in all I would say it was ok. Dee was my favourite part of the facial but Hand and Stone is a money making business above all else.
