When people ask me what my favorite restaurant is I say "well it's actually a brunch place, but Geppetto Cafe! Trust me!" Great atmosphere, food, and people. There are few places I'm a regular, and this is one of them. Their iced black coffee is my all-time favorite too. We just had our engagement party here, and they were so flexible and accommodating. It was really special, and many of our guests said "you WOULD have your engagement party at Geppetto". They loved it. Everyone thought it was super cute and that the crepes were delicious. Highest recommendation for brunch, coffee, or a special occasion!

It's small and homey and playful and inviting. We had both savory crepes and sweet crepes here and they were all good. For savories, we had the Bonjour and the Love Hate Thing. I liked the Love Hate Thing better. The maple syrup on the Bonjour didn't do anything for me. There was just a lot going on. The sweet crepes were delicious; both the Banoffee and the Cookie Monster were tasty, but Cookie Monster wins--the crunchy bits on there were clutch. The crepes themselves have a really nice texture and flavor, not gummy or tough, and they complimented both the sweet and savory fillings nicely. Next time I go I'm going to try a waffle or French toast, as all the plates around me looked great and I think sweet might be my way to go here. Coffee is Lavazza, espresso is LaPrima.

They have a good beer and wine selection and the staff checking us out at the counter were very nice. The woman after scanning my ID actually flipped it over and thanked me by my first name and same with my wife. (It's the little things). We bought some baked goods and honestly I'd would have just gotten food and hung out but my wife is here on a business trip so we just had to get some snacks. The store is huge. They have a wide variety of drinks and snacks. The flow was good as the aisles are decently sized and although we were only there for about 30 minutes the customer base was cool, even when the power went out for 10 seconds. If we actually lived here this would be our store. It's not overly expensive and it literally has everything.

In truth,…read moreit's such a favorite of mine that I headed there straight from the airport on my most recent visit. The cool vibe restaurant is tucked away up a short flight of stairs on Filbert Street. It gives the place a cozy, hideaway feel with brick walls and murals. It's pretty popular, so you might have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it moves pretty quick. The menu focuses heavily on crepes and French toast, and they do both very well. I went for a savory crepe that was loaded with eggs and topped with a rich sauce and diced vegetables. It came with a side of fresh fruit which was a nice touch. We also ordered a sweet crepe to share. It was beautifully presented with chocolate drizzle, berry sauce, and a massive pile of whipped cream. The coffee is solid too. Verdict: This is a consistent and reliable brunch spot. It was the perfect way to kick off my trip. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

But the star of the show for me is the Shakshouka. I have gotten it the last 2 times I went. You also have to try their Dirty Chai. My only critique is the hostess at the front. She appeared overwhelmed by her role and was not warm. We were actually told by the waiters that "she is serious about her list". Which would be great if she managed it effectively. When I brought concerns that we had been pushed down the list 3 times for other parties. She responded "well, how do you know that" to which I responded "we watched you take their names down after ours and sit them before us". Her response was to shoo me off and tell me to go find a table myself; to which I did. But what a poor way to manage your stress, responsibility, and consumers. On the bright side my waiter/waitress was awesome per usual.

I was a customer of their restaurant in Squirrel Hill. The menu listed sweet crepes (e.g., fuji caramel apple, matcha chocolate truffles, lychee romantic, and blueberry cheesecake), savory crepes (e.g., spicy crabmeat, chicken teriyaki, angus short ribs, vegetarian lover, and shrimp tempura), and many non-alcoholic beverages (e.g., fruity drinks, slushes, milk teas, and fruit teas). Customers may create their own custom sweet crepe from up to two fillings, up to two fruits, and up to four toppings. Customers may either order in-person for dining in or takeout or order online for delivery or pickup. Catering is also available. An employee promptly took my order and payment--$15.20 plus a credit-card surcharge, sales tax, and tip for a bubble tea and a strawberry-banana-Nutella crepe. Some indoor tables and chairs were available. After several minutes, an employee brought out my tea and crepe. The strawberry-banana-Nutella crepe (5 stars) was nicely crispy, contained very fresh ingredients, and tasted delicious. The bubble tea contained my choice of mango milk tea and mango popping bubbles, and I thought that it tasted good (4 stars).
