Our experience with Cura Pharmacy has been consistently negative. Every time we call ahead to confirm that our prescriptions are ready, we're told that the medication is in stock and available for pickup. However, when we arrive, the staff has no idea what we're talking about, and the medication is never ready as promised. Most concerning, during our last visit we picked up a prescription for 30 pills -- only to find two completely different types of pills in the same bottle, separated by a cotton ball. The pharmacy did not notify us of any substitution, and one of the pills did not match the description printed on the label. This is a serious medication error and a major safety issue. When my husband went to pick up the medication, the staff were arguing among themselves and even with him about what was going on. The overall organization and professionalism have clearly declined. There seems to be no accountability, and the staff repeatedly provide inaccurate information over the phone about prescription readiness. Whether the issue is due to new management or internal disorganization, something is clearly very wrong. We've decided to switch to another pharmacy and have reported the medication error to ensure it's documented. Until Cura Pharmacy addresses these internal issues and improves their quality control, I strongly advise others to take their prescriptions elsewhere for their own safety. read more

They shipped me two medications, one without asking. Then insisted they "told me" --which they didn't. I'm not on that medication and haven't been for a long time. In order to get a refund for the medication they accidentally sent they say I have to ship it back to them and pay for shipping! . Then tell me there is nothing more they can do for me. I ask to speak with the manager and he says as one time courtesy he will refund the medication they mistakenly sent but that I should probably find a new pharmacy...and I said what? I just need you to fix your mistake and he said yea I think you should find a new pharmacy. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I've never been treated like this, ever. read more

We been with CURA pharmacy for many years with out any issues. Great customer service always on top of our refills. I don't know what happened with in the last few months but things have just turned completely the opposite. No follow up regarding our refills seams they have no idea what's going on . I had a Dr send in a prescription that I was never contacted by Cura to notify me that my Dr send in a prescription so all this time I was thinking that Dr forgot to call it in. When I finally called in to see what happening with our refills they told me about a medication that was ready and I had no idea about this medication ,mind you this was 2 months pass from the time my Dr send this in. Then after that They called me to ask for credit card in order to send my medication out I said to the person that called me that you do have my card on file he kept insisting that they don't have my credit card.all tho they had mailed me a few meds the week before. When I ask to speak to the supervisor they came back saying we found a card on file. So to me looks like they are under new management and they have no clue of what's going on. Amazing service! I just can't say enough about this amazing local pharmacy. I'm 55 and have an advanced health issue w my heart. I'm on a slew of medication (around 15) and several of them are hard to get and harder to get processed through insurance. Cura takes the extra time to make certain everything is perfect. Was referred to Cura Pharmacy by the Wound Care Center, where my husband receives treatments for an open wound. We we able to receive 3 tubes of medication for $100. Yes we have Ins, put in prior authorization, but the best our local pharmacy could do, was $159 for 2 tubes. read more

I never heard of this pharmacy until the case worker at the hospital forwarded my husband's prescription there after CVS did not know how to get it approved by our insurance. Pharmacy tech Tu worked diligently to help me get the prescription so my husband could be released from the hospital that night. Our insurance company was closed for pre-authorizations, but she somehow got the price reduced so I could get the medicine. They contacted our insurance the next day and got it approved. We were then refunded the price difference of our copay vs what I paid that night. Tu went above and beyond for someone who was not an established customer and she did not know me. I've been a customer for about a year. Each month, the pharmacy sends me a package of medication to my home. About a week ago, due to the extra packages I received, I called the pharmacy and instructed the female staffer not to send any package until I call. She said she made a note about that on my file. This review is long overdue. Awhile back when I worked at a physician's office, I noticed that CURA's name often came up in conversations and they often got rave remarks from the staff. As I worked there longer, I understood why this pharmacy is so well loved. They always follow through. One time, one of us phoned in a prescription to a mail-order pharmacy, and was promised the medication will be shipped the next day overnight to the patient. Two days later, our patient never received the drug. When we called the mail-order pharmacy, there was no record that the first phone call occurred! Such in-accountability made it refreshing to deal with a group like CURA staff whom we can identify by the first name basis. That's why several staff and physicians in my office use CURA for their personal prescriptions, including myself. When I had no insurance and need this one medication, they were able to give me at a low price, better than chain stores like Rite Aid. I continue to use their service since they offer free delivery including mail-service to me out of state. Great service and the staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. Somehow, Cura intercepted my prescriptions from the hospital and took care of everything for me. They almost sent the medicines home before I was even discharged, but the hospital had them send it to me before I was sent home, so the nurse could explain the instructions for me. They deliver if you can't pick up your pills yourself, and even get to know you on a first name basis. That really shows how they pay attention to detail and care about their clients. Great pharmacy with a fantastic staff. they have cut the cost of my medications by more than half of other pharmacy's. They work hard to find manufacture coupons for you to reduce your cost. Ii have seen them stay late for customers who call and say they will not be able to make it there by 7pm. they always call to let you know when a prescription is ready for you to pick up. A doctor that my partner sees prefers this pharmacy and sends things here regardless of what we ask. It doesn't seem to me like they do anything that any other pharmacy doesn't. The Dr. said something about them being better at getting things cleared with your insurance than other pharmacies but I haven't seen any evidence of that -- when we had a hard time dealing with them we went elsewhere and had 0 problems with insurance for those prescriptions. They have much more limited hours (not open on the weekend) than any other pharmacy I've used in the area and the staff seem very disorganized, confused, and in one case very rude over the phone. We've talked to three different people here over the last few days trying to get a prescription sorted out and gotten three very different stories from all of them. Honestly, I'm sure they do a fine job much of the time but I'd never choose to go here over other places after dealing with them a couple times. read more

I am devastated by the way Cura has treated me. People's lives depend on them and they don't feel the responsibility in any way. I have a seizure disorder called Myoclonus and a mental health condition called PTSD and this pharmacy promised me my medication would be here by a certain date and they left me without Klonopin, a benzodiazepine for myoclunus and panic/anxiety that I've been on for seven years for an entire weekend, and I did not receive it until Monday afternoon. Withdrawals from Klonopin are so dangerous that they can and usually do result in death. They also told me that they sent out my migraine medication on Monday morning and when I called on Wednesday, since it hadn't arrived, they said that they didn't even order it because they couldn't and that they could send it to another pharmacy. I had asked them to transfer it to another pharmacy a week before but they gave me a lecture and said that they had worked very hard to get this medication approved for me and that transferring to another pharmacy would be a bad idea because my insurance would use it as an excuse to stop covering it. So now they're completely contradicting themselves. I have a social worker and she called them and let them know that they can't leave people without their medication and that it's negligent and irresponsible. Apparently they used that as ammunition against me. What kind of people are these? You're not supposed to take things personally, medication is a matter of life and death for people! Wake up! They're refusing to order this medication now to spite me? Is it because my social worker stood up for me? I'm not going out quietly. Cura, a life saving pharmacy, made me face one of the worst times in my life by withholding my medication and I'm not allowing them to get away with it! You'll be hearing more from me. EDIT 3 later: I decided to give Cura another shot due to the fact that they started mailing me my medication and even requesting refills for me. I still have to make sure that I'm on top of things and call to make sure that things are being sent out but there seems to be no problems like before. read more

I just had surgery and the doctor sent my medication here to be delivered to me the day I came home. The bottle had instructions in a foreign language. I know it's Vietnamese. The problem is, I do not read, write nor understand it, nor did I request anything be in Vietnamese. Because I just had surgery, this is extremely dangerous to just deliver to my home. I have no idea what is in the bottle, I have no idea what it says, I have know idea how much of it take, I have no idea how long I should take it for. Now the burden is on me to find a translator, or call a doctor. The doctor who prescribed this is actually NOT Vietnamese. How do I reach any doctor in the evening when all I know is I should have started taking this medication already? It's difficult enough to reach my own surgeon. Where will I find a translator who is skilled enough to translate these words for me-- and from someone I can trust. If I can find a pharmacist at CVS, or wherever, I should have gone to them in the first place. No. I did not have that option. I was told this would be sent to my house, I did not realize it would be an independent business that obviously has no regard for any patient's safety. Is the burden on the patient to find a translator who knows what he or she is translating and hope that everything matches the original prescription? Or is it the responsibility of the pharmacy to ensure the patient understands the prescription. I called and the pharmacist did offer to translate the prescription-- however, I want that to be written directly on the bottle, not told me to over the phone, because now there is no official record of what I am "supposed" to know and what I have been warn of when taking this medication. What if I had called her after hours because of this and no one is there. She said the number goes directly to her cell phone. Can she look up this medication at home? How am I supposed to read what it says to her on the bottle to even translate? If something does happen to me-- an overdose, mixing it with something I shouldn't have-- such as grapefruit juice, or even just an aspirin... whose responsibility is that? May I offer a suggestion? Send the prescription in both languages. It is not only Vietnamese-speakers who go to the ER. You never know-- it may be an elderly person whom their kids are caring for that person doesn't speak Vietnamese. At least give me the option to stay safe. read more

This is a GREAT pharmacy with a very professional and friendly staff. My doctor recommended them to me and I have been completely happy ever since I transferred my prescriptions from one of the major drug stores. One of my prescriptions required a pre-authorization and Cura took care of everything. I have to say something about Cura's excellent service. I was released from the hospital after a week stay and was given a prescription for an expensive antibiotic. Stopped in at CVS and was quoted $1700. No way was I gonna pay that after all I have full medical insurance. I called the hospital and they referred me to Cura. Ms. Tu Ly at Cura got me the meds for $700 and worked with my insurance carrier for reimbursement. After settling the dispute between me and my insurance carrier I settled on $300. I have to say that this pharmacy and the staff are such wonderful people... I received a call from a lady name Tu and she informed me that she was working on getting some medication for my dad (who is 86) so he can be released from the hospital.. This medication has a copay of $4100.00..yes the part we have to pay is$4100.. Crazy i know... So Tu was working on getting his insurance to take care of the most of the cost.. She got the copay down to.$1000 but still in the real world that is a whole lot of money... Tu kept working hard to help my family and found a program to take care of the cost of the whole amount... So now we owe not one $ for my dad's medicine and he can come home from the hospital... I give all glory to God for putting Tu and the right track to help us...
