I don't usually write reviews but I felt the need to let people know what I experienced here. I was waiting outside of pearl river to pickup some food that wasn't ready yet. While outside I seen Cupid's corner and figured I'd go check things out to kill some time while I waited. This is a Sex shop located in the same block as Lucky's Supermarket. Carpark is large, I don't know if it's just me, but you always feel real seedy going in. If you have the courage and make it past the door on the left door that is where they keep lingerie, costumes and other intimate apparel. Clientele look really seedy, not a good experience. They have a curtain in the middle of the store that divides the right half. I made a Yelp account just so I could write this review... Alright, here goes, so, a couple months ago, I purchased a regular standard bullet vibrator..a whopping $45 dollar purchase which I thought was ridiculous for starters but, I was new to California and didn't know where to go so I thought I'd try Cupids. The lady at the counter says, "No, you can't return it, all sales are basically final but glitches, you are able to exchange for a new one." Awesome. Had I known that I would've just bought one for half that on Amazon...thank you. So, in the next few weeks, I leave town and totally meant to take it back beforehand but hadn't had the chance. The following week, I go in to exchange the product, explain the story, have the RECEIPT with me and the girls at the front basically, shut the door on my face. They tell me my receipt wasn't even the legitimate receipt for the product. I'm sorry which one of those several-ass receipts that you gave me am I supposed to know to bring in?! Um, here's the proof that I purchased this product, from your store, on my debit card...what the hell...Guess the customers not right. I am not happy and I look them in the eye and say, I need to speak with your manager. This is were things get interesting... The manager calls me, I talk to him over the phone, I explain the situation, everything is fine. He explains to me the girls at the front are trained a certain way and aren't allowed to do certain things but that he'd exchange the product for me "to make me happy" but that I would need to come in during a different time when another set of employees were working instead. He said if I was free tomorrow, he would come in and exchange it for me. I agree and ask him the time and he agrees to call me right back to figure out who is working the shifts. Never calls...awesome. I call him the following day, left a voicemail. I called him again (maybe he's busy) and I hear someone pick up the phone and dial numbers which is super loud in my ear...oh, thank you, Mr. Manager aren't you just so classy and businessman-like (sigh). But, I'm stubborn, instead, I decide to call Cupid's to get some sort of response and let them know I'm still waiting. They say they'll call me back once they get in touch with him. They never call me so I call them and the gal on the phone starts out saying she had called at left a voicemail...tsk tsk. Okay sure whatever, yeah, must've missed that can you tell me what your manager said? Literally she says this, "He says, I mean, we couldn't get a hold of him but when he calls us back we will call you." Uh-huh...mmkkk I give it about an hour and half, at this point, I'm really just doing this for laughs and to see what they'll say, but I end up telling to their faces, "he's not calling me back is he?" the girl basically laughs on the phone at me and says "we don't take toys back, all sales are FINAL, don't come back here..." and then literally hung up the phone on me. I let them know I would write this Yelp review because people should know. These people are charging $45 dollars for a bullet vibrator?! Folks, first of all just go to Amazon, the $5 shipment still saves you $20. Second, I found this manager and his girls sadly, sleezy, shady and just down-right greedy for nothing. Seriously, just how much are those vibes from the manufacturer? This is a very friendly and non-intimidating store for finding adult toys, movies, magazines, and clothing. Every time I've been there I've been helped by an enthusiastic and friendly young lady (not some sleazy guy like at other adult stores). I got married at the beginning of August. A friend of mine gave me lingerie from this place that did not fit. She gave it to me around August 1st, but couldn't find the receipt until early September. I live in Sunnyvale, so making the trip down to Blossom Hill and 87 has not been my highest priority, especially when my husband, who is in the service, lives hours away from me and I try to see him every other weekend. I went into the store and ask whether I can do an exchange explaining that it was a gift and didn't fit. The young lady said she had to call her manager and get it cleared. She made a phone call to the manager and was told she couldn't exchange it because of the two month delay in the return (I had the receipt). I got annoyed, and asked the young lady if I would be able to talk to the person who made the decision. She called him back, and quickly talked to him and then hung up. They asked me to leave my number, and he would call me back. I explained that I drove from Sunnyvale, and that I would like to talk to him while I was there, if possible, because I didn't want to have to make the drive down again later. I also asked them to indicate to the manager that I was a bit irritated that the person making the decisions was not there to talk to me in person. They kept saying he was very busy and it might be a while before he called back. I gave them my cell phone number from me and one of the ladies texted it to him. I wandered the store, while waiting for him to call back. I waited a few minutes, and then walked up again and asked if they could call him again. At that point he called, and I answered. He asked me, rudely "What do you want?" I started explaining my situation, and he didn't bother listening. Instead he accused me of "Making a Scene in his store" and being rude to his workers, and that he could see it all on an internet video stream. I asked him what he meant by making a scene and he didn't answer. He said that the return policy of 48 hours was posted throughout the store and I should have seen that when I bought the lingerie. I explained that it was a gift and didn't fit, and tried to explain that I didn't even get the receipt until a month after it was purchased. He said that he couldn't sell the piece if he took it back and why would he do that. He said he didn't want my business and to get out of his store.
