Great staff, good knowledge of everything they sell. Not a huge collection but enough

I am a frequent shopper, and have been going to the dispensary for decades now, usually 2x/week. But the new staff members at Caliva are extremely rude and not knowledgeable about product or sales in general. They do not make you feel welcome, and have continually been short or seem annoyed. I will no longer be shopping at Caliva, with so many other options why would I choose to patronize a place where people make you feel bad?! read more

I've been coming to this location since it first opened which is something like 10+ years ago and each time I come I spend several hundred dollars. Back then they had a great service, great employees, great management, great selection, and great prices. Over the years the product selection started shrinking and they stopped carrying my favorite brands and products, and the website became super buggy. Now they have changed management again and I think they got bought out by a corporation called STIIIZY. STIIIZY AS A BRAND AND AS A COMPANY IS PURE TRASH AND SO IS THE NEW MANAGEMENT! The product selection is terrible now and half the time they say they have things in stock online and then when you go to the actual location they are out of stock. The products are overpriced and less potent with a small selection and all the best brands like Costal Sun, Maven, Fig Farms, ABX, etc. are no longer carried just so they can promote their lousy STIIIZY products. The website is super buggy and constantly redirects itself in a loop between the actual 7th St. store location as the supplier and STIIIZY itself being used as the supplier. Prices seen online for the same item are different depending on if you're buying from the actual 7th St location or through STIIIZY even though they're the same place, which is super confusing. The website always has trouble with online coupons and promo codes. The staff is usually polite but a lot of the employees don't seem very intelligent. Half of them look like they've been stoned the whole day and they can't even answer basic questions, they are super slow and look totally dazed and confused. Here's a thought, be professional and don't smoke at work! The staff can't seem to count the items in orders properly so you're likely to get orders with missing items; worst of all is that when there are issues/problems or major inconveniences the staff and management will do nothing to help or make up for the trouble. My last three orders placed online were incorrect and missing items. In the past, on several occasions they gave me the wrong change or gave my order to someone else. When you buy STIIIZY items with a set weight, like a 3.5 gram or 7 gram package of flower the actual amount you get is far less. I've had 3 times where when I weighed out a brand new 7 gram pouch of flower it was actually around only 5 grams so STIIIZY is basically shorting and stealing from their customers. Last time I ordered online for an in person pickup I ordered 10 items and had to call 3 times to get an update on my order and when I was told it was finally ready & I arrived to pick it up, it was missing 5 items. How hard is it for their high-as-a-kite employees to count to 10! Then they said sorry we're out of the items you wanted... Well that's why I ordered them hours ago when they were in stock but since the staff is often stoned, they can't focus on their jobs and pack/fulfill orders properly or in a timely manner. To make matters worse when I told the bud tender who was helping me that 5 items missing from order is not cool he started to give me attitude and push me out of his line. UNACCEPTABLE! I told the manager how bad my experience has been and how downhill everything at this location has gone, he said many people have complained about the same things and that he can't do a single thing to make things better. No discount or credit, no complimentary item for the bad experiences, not even an apology. STIIIZY/CALIVA/their management and employees are all incompetent and inept. The way this business is being run is absolutely pathetic and it needs to get shut down. After being a devoted and loyal customer for 10+ years who has spent thousands of dollars here, I AM ABSOLUTELY DONE WITH THIS PLACE! THIS PLACE IS A JOKE AND NOT WORTH THE HEADACHES AND DRAMA. I'd be willing to pay twice as much somewhere else to never have to deal with incompetence of STIIIZY/Caliva again. Corporations really do ruin everything and STIIIZY took a damn fine dispensary and completely screwed it up and that's why I hope this place goes bankrupt because the corporation totally deserves it. Experience this time was not good. The skinny guy long blonde hair with glasses, I think Dillion? Made me feel so uncomfortable and unwanted. It was unbelievable. I checked weed maps for a product I like to buy and I do come here Fridays. The bartender told me apparently they have it in the back but they haven't brought it out yet and tried to sell me on some other products. I explained to her I came all the way out here for that product and was very dissatisfied that they couldn't help me even though they had the product in the back. My husband works extremely long and hard hours. He opened up the cart he bought yesterday and it was clogged and leaking from the bottom. Now he has to go back to caliva after a 10 hour shift today to exchange it. Why are all the BLSTD carts shitty and constantly leaking. Unfortunately used to be a legitimate experience but it's gone completely downhill in the last year... extremely overpriced and the Gramlin stuff they offer is not pure. It tastes very soapy and it's the only pen that's ever made my throat bleed. I do not trust this company and I've lost appreciation for them. Trust me when I say the flower is very low quality. You are paying for the building basically. There is another smoke shop down the street that is really hidden and hard to see. It's a little run down but they actually have much, much better and higher quality flower. Much cheaper. I've consistently had bad experiences with Caliva. Some people are nice and the interactions can be good. But there are so many times that the budtenders are just Rude for no reason.. I've witness a fight break out where one of the male managers started berating a customer saying "don't you ever tell me I don't know what I'm talking about I've been doing this longer than you." I wanted to step up and say something because the customer was being genuinely casual and was trying to explain that the manager just didn't understand what he was asking for. I genuinely would not give your business to this company. It's just not worth it. They don't deserve it to be honest. Oh and whatever you do DONT get the stiiizy's!!! Customer service is always really great but it takes forever to get online support and god forbid trying to find a number to call into. I used to look forward to getting my stuff from them but they're regularly out of stock of items, I've had issues with delivery drivers not delivering packages but claiming that "delivery attempt failed" even when I'm literally sitting on my doorstep. Everything has been on a downward spiral over the past year. I found a newer spot to go to but felt nostalgic and looked up Caliva and saw that things are even worse than before. I couldn't even get to my reward points because their website has so many bugs and glitches. I gave up and just vowed not to go back. If it works for you, great. Just had a negative experience at this store. I was in the line in the San Jose store and when I walked up, I was interested to see if they had any more deals on the almora vapes, so that was the first thing I said. The retail assistant said "you don't even want to introduce yourself first?" Then he muttered something about improper etiquette. Moving forward from that he hands me the iPad to look through the inventory myself. (Normally they look it up) when he handed me the iPad he made me pretty uncomfortable then I couldn't find the item I wanted on it and there was another unhappy customer at the same time complaining about some lady getting mad at him that worked there, so I just left after making a token purchase and tipping. It was more of the retail assistants vibe. Last time I'm coming here. I usually mobile order to skip the line and wait till i receive my email confirmation saying it's ready. I highly recommend them and their products! Super clean and aesthetically pleasing location. First and foremost; this place has the BEST customer service. THE BEST I TELL YOU. Everyone here is always so happy to help you out. All the employees are very knowledgeable and will gladly help you find what you are looking for. The selection here is also quite extensive. They have flower, edibles, cartridges and pens and so much more! Prior to entering, you are carded twice; once at the main entrance outside, and another time to check in before you enter the actual sales floor. Be sure to bring a state I.D or Passport. Once you make it past the check in and are in the sales floor, you may have to wait in another line prior to purchasing stuff. If you know what you want, I would suggest ordering in advanced and picking it up, the process will be faster of course. If you don't know what you want, any of the bud tenders here will gladly help you determine what your needs are in accordance to your likes and dislikes. Get to the store and they say they can't honor my order because the vapes are advertised as B1G1 50% off in store. I try to say that I ordered online for the promo but Michelle's excuse was that their website is controlled by a 3rd party... Caliva cultivates, cures and grows their own products, while offering an extensive array of other manufacturers, yet can't afford a legitimate website developer?! That's wild. 3 solid stars and will start with the cons, nothing unreasonable. Just feels really mediocre. Have done 2 pick ups with Caliva, via online. The check in process is a major waist of time, this needs to be modified for a better experience for the customer. 1 Check in at the security 2 Check in at the front desk after the first check in 3 Wait at the regular shopping line or the pick up line this need a reboot. ok. The pick up line is to the left of the front door, right of the security check in. It's pointless to have a line for pickup outside and on the inside after the front desk check in. That in itself wastes time for customer experience, the employees are not helpful in guiding customers to the check out line for pick up. Caliva only gets 3 stars for product, variety, safety as in security and quality. Other than that I really do feel like I am shopping at a Safeway with average people and rules that just don't make any sense. Enso forever. +- Security check in. Huge parking lot. If I could give this place a 0 star review I would. Went here with a friend to grab a birthday gift. It's 7:30 PM, endured a 20-minute line in the cold. Finally, at the front, security asks if it's online pickup or walk-in. We say walk-in, and he casually says, "Go wait in the other line" on the opposite side without any signage. We didn't even know there were two separate lines because there were no signs indicating which was which. We mentioned that there was no signs and mentioned our 20-minute wait, hoping for some understanding, but he responded with, "Well, someone should put a sign up, but you're gonna have to go wait again in the back." with a smirk on his face We've been here twice now; first time, no line but unfriendly checkout staff who didn't answer questions. When I asked a simple question "how much is this product without the discount ?" just a blank "I couldn't tell you." while her iPad was right in front of her. This second time, with the security guard incident, we wouldn't have minded the wait, but the disrespect killed our mood. Not recommending this place to anyone new. Its 2025 and still no ability to see active ingredient content on their website for most products. Also they have a new double safe account verification system for rewards that doesn't seem to work, so you cannot use rewards with online orders. Overall the website functionality is pretty bad cause its easy to start browsing 'General' Inventory and you realize too late you're not shopping at a store near you and have to start over. read more

I have been coming to caliva since the beginning. Lately when I place a pick up order NO ONE TAKES CARE OF IT. I've been told "we forgot I'm sorry" literally every time. I'm busy and I don't have time to wait in their long lines so I depend on my order being ready. Takes over an hour every time and sometimes when I go to figure out the problem it's absolutely slow. As a customer everytime I go here I feel 1. Unseen 2. Not taken care of 3. Like I'm an annoyance to the employees I'm just someone trying to buy your goods, yet you continually make me feel unwelcome in your establishment. If I had a post-sale issue it would be made worse by Caliva's inability to provide customer support in a reasonable amount of time. And the LEAF CURL on that plant. That's hilarious that they think that's a good look. If I was growing that I'd be trying to fix the pH imbalance in the root zone. I'd also try to determine how I over-fed it. Some people think such anomalies "the exotic genetics" LOL. Hmmm. How long before they change that pic? Somebody gimme a sign if you notice it's been removed. This dispensary makes it hard to become a new customer (in my experience). Telephone customer service is broken. And shopping is broken. If you open a new tab in your web browser to view a product page then add it to your cart as -- as I did 5 times. In the end, I had 1 product in cart even after reloading the site. Coming from the East Bay, I'm used to the efficient customer service and wide selection of Harborside. Caliva came up on Yelp as highly rated, and my SJ friend and I decided to stop by on Friday. We came around 7pm and waited about 20 minutes to get in. Once you get in they ask you to register on their iPads, and that's where they get your info to start sending spam texts your phones. Once registered, you sit and wait another 10 minutes to be called into their showroom. Inside the showroom, you wait in another line to be helped by the budtender. You are not allowed to browse the aisles by yourself. I appreciate their social distancing precautions with 4 customers in the showroom at a time. However, I felt the registering part was unnecessary. Our budtender was somewhat helpful. We were there specifically for CBD products, which they had a decent variety of but most were mixed with THC. They didn't have any pure CBD products available. I picked up some 20:1 CBD:THC products per the recommendation of the budtender. I bought the edibles for my husband which he said were okay, but he's has better. They're cash only, can't use debit card like most dispensaries. You can download some app they use that's similar to Venmo. Overall, Caliva was an okay experience, but don't think I'll be back because there are better dispensaries out there. read more

It was my first time visiting this place let alone a dispensary to be quite honest. My first time experience was smooth and was guided throughly by their great customer service! As quarantine is in full effect, many are left home with nothing to do. This place has been quite packed the times I've passed by with lines on two sides of the building. It can take up to an hour waiting to get to the main lobby and another 10 minutes to just go inside. I assume everyone needs something to help keep them sane during these stressful times. Remember this place is cash only. I obviously did not pay attention to this when I spotted this on Yelp. Luckily, they had an ATM machine inside, hooray for ATM withdrawal fees!
