Cupbop literally always sounds good to me. It is so hard to drive or walk by this place because it always smells so good! I am not an expert in Korean BBQ. In fact, this is the first Korean BBQ place I have been, but I am so impressed! They have a super cute atmosphere. This is an actual location and not a food truck, but they have a food truck painted over the window which I think is a cute touch. They always have fun Korean pop music playing which I really think adds to the vibe. There are chairs and tables outside, but it is very casual. I almost never stay here to eat my food--I take it home to eat instead. I have tried just about every bowl you can get here. I highly recommend the kko-kko bop or the hot bop. You can pick how spicy you want your food to be on a scale of 1-10. I usually go with the 4 because it is the perfect mixture of sweet and spicy without being too much. They give you a pretty good amount of food for $8! Biggest complaint is the parking situation. It is kind of a nightmare. If you can find a parking spot, it is at the most incredibly difficult angle. I've eaten at Cupbop a few times, now, and what I can tell you about this Korean food truck is that it's delicious, the service is some of the most friendly of any business, anywhere, and you get a pretty good bang for your buck. The staff is incredible. High-energy, shouting, whooping it up. If that's not your scene (and let's face it, it may not be for everyone), then just submit your simple order and they'll respect the zen of your style. But if you want to joke around, holler, and have fun, they'll be down. On the more serious note, if you want to give them feedback and tell them how they might improve, how your experience went...they'll listen. I usually go with a combo. Some beef, some chicken, some pork. I prefer the noodles to the rice, but I'm not baggin on the rice. It's darn good, too. They recently introduced a vegetarian bibimbap dish for the non-meat crowd, and I've enjoyed that as well. They'll also do catering, and are always gracious and generous. I've looked forward for this Saturday for another cupbop lunch ... I brought my six year old this time (previously was only with my wife) as I know my boy would love it. The good thing is that the truck is planned to come nearby South Jordan, closed to where we lived. We planned to come for late lunch around 1-2 pm because we just had a heavy breakfast at Waffle Luv food truck in the morning ... Alas, I saw in Facebook that they sold out. OMG, I could not believe it, as I've been waiting for the entire week ... !!! But suddenly I saw that Cupbop posted in FB that they're offering free food in their kitchen at Taylorsville for late lunch until 3:00pm, so I quickly searched in our apple map and found them (truthfully, it was not that easy to find as the kitchen is behind another restaurant) ... Jung gave me a tour of Cupbop kitchen. What I first noticed is that it is clean and organized, so I realized on why their food is not only tasty/delicious but also hygienic ... In fact I felt better about it now and will certainly bring my family and friends again. Jung made me 7.5 stars combination while my wife got the medium (5 star) and my son with no star (no spicy). We all loved our food, in fact my son really love the noodle till he ate with his hand... I love both spicy pork and the beef, it's just delicious. In the middle of our lunch, Jung gave us the dumpling with special sauce (no spicy as I had my six year old). My son loved it so much and Jung is so kind to give him the second round ... Unsure what the sauce is made of, but my son started to mix his food with the dumpling sauce and eating (licking ?) the sauce ... Yes it is that good ! One more thing is on the fresh lettuce, it is really crispy and complement the entire meal perfectly. At the end, I had a short chat with Jung and he shared me his mission and vision about his cupbop company. He truly wants to provide GREAT service complementing the good food and; hence, he doesn't feel good when he noticed that his food sold out today while he still has a lot of loyal customers looking for cupbop in the road. I now understand some of the thing he does truly differentiate himself with other Korean restaurant in Utah: "He cares about his customer and tries to exceed our expectations". Just had Cupbop food for the first time after hearing my friends rave about it. I was lucky enough to attend the event they had at their house yesterday (yay!). The bbq smelled so good that I broke my 7 year non-mammal diet. The cupbop was delicious--probably the best Korean food I've had in Utah. Japchae--mmmMm good! Tips: Sauce: the higher the number, the hotter it is. Around 7 is a good number if you're an average hot person. If you're like me who loves hot peppers--maybe try 8-10. It's really good sauce! I've tried food from dozens of food trucks in California including a few korean/mexican fusion trucks but this is the first truck I've seen that sells just korean food and it's amazing! The cup that the food comes in is huge, I was so stuffed after. I got the combo so I got to try the beef, spicy pork, and noodles, which were all fantastic. The cup was filled with flavor! I ordered mine with a spicy level of 3 because I am a pansy when it comes to heat but I think I can go up to a 5 next time! (Their spicy sauce is delicious!) Jesus H Christ and a popsicle stick. If this food truck was a Hanson song it would be MMMBop! I'm probably not the first one to make that reference. All jokes aside this was one hell of a food truck. Even on a rainy day like today I'm glad I made the trip out to Sandy where they posted up. I bought the combo cupbop and some mandoo (potstickers). The only mistake I made was getting a level 3 spiciness (level 1-10). The potstickers I think were steamed because it didn't have the jagged edge texture of being pan-fried. They were rock solid though. But the real taste explosion was the combo portion. SO MUCH FOOD. Spicy pork, beef, noodles, rice, lettuce. All mixed together in one epic mash up of food. Every bite was just as good as the first. Price came out to about $11 for everything. Make sure you add a tip because the guys running the food truck are amazing. OK, my review isn't fair in one sense because i NEVER got to experience the food. But Yelp is here to help us find and decide whether or not we want to try something. After the reading the reviews of CupBop, my daughter and I wanted very badly to try it. We went to the exact location the map put them. We never saw it. We walked all around the area of 400 south and main. We walked up blocks and down ones and no sign. We asked some local business folks if they had seen it and they were unaware. I tried calling the number listed for Cupbop to ask the source where we could find them. I tried for 20 minutes and either got a recording or the phone just rang with no answer. Rather fruitless if you ask me, having reviews of any business when the readers whom are not familiar with it, are given no ability to find it nor contact them. Just my two cents. OK, I now need to revise my review. Again, I have NOT yet enjoyed the wonders of this place but I sincerely am excited too. I got a call late last night from the owner last night apologizing for the misshap and explaining how he has tried 4 times to get Yelp to change this so people arent mislead. Yelp has not been cooperative thus far. He wanted our experience to be good and sent us a number of coupons for a free bowl to allow us to try it out easily and told us to LIKE them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter to find out where the truck will be located every day. It DOES move around, and that is NOT apparent if you look at the Yelp site. ANyway, as soon as we get to take advantage of his kindness and generosity, I will be sure to report back how killer it is :) The man who runs this sure understands customer service and integrity. You know what the best part of eating here? Cougar dental paid for it. So in a way my lack of cavities led to my sadness. well it was either here or pita pit... great options ;) but let me be more clear... they gave you $6 off... which pays for none of their meals. i think the cheapest was 6.15. I got the combo, with beef and pork, and based on reviews I got 9 spicy level because it seems like the main complaint is the weird blend of flavors. WELL GUESS WHAT!?!?! still wasn't spicy. which is okay, I am not going to complain solely based on that. I wanted to think... MAYBE THIS IS JUST LIKE MOVIE HYPE, and i was just dissapointed because it didnt live up to it. Just tasted weird... the noodles are stupid and lack the ability of soaking up flavor. I had heard about this food truck so when I saw it at the Taylorsville Days festival I gave it a shot. I got spicy pork. My wife got beef. They asked me how hot I wanted it and I said 10, the guy acted like that was insane and that I should tone it down to an 8. From the way he acted I figured a 10 must be laden with a handful of chopped thai chilies or something so I went with it and got it at an 8. Lame! They have a spicy aioli and sriracha. I can drink that stuff when I'm thirsty. What they called an 8 I'd probably call a 4. So I suppose the number scale just determines how much sriracha they add. The food in all our cups was pretty bland. There is a lot of noodles and rice compared to the rest of it and they do not add enough sauce to cover it all. I'd suggest not mixing it together. Take a scoop of meat and get as much noodles and rice as you'd like to go with it and eat it that way until you're down to bare noodles and rice. It won't take long and you'll end up tossing about half the container. read more

I stalk this food truck on Instagram and Facebook for a reason. The very first time I had Cupbop, I fell in love. Then the addiction started. I found myself craving it every single week! I always get the Combo since I like a little bit of everything. Rice, some veggies, spicy pork, my favorite Korean noodles, and of course bulgolgi. I have to admit, they win me over on the seasoning of their meat. There is so much flavor in one bite. When I first had it, I started with a level 7 spicy. I LOVE spicy food and I mean extremely spicy, I thought it was pretty spicy the first time. But I noticed as I kept getting a 7, it wasn't hot enough. I now get a level 10 and I think it's perfect. Sometimes depending on the level of spice, they don't add the mayo in (since it calms it down), which is my favorite part. They have no problem adding it in. Definitely worthy of 5 stars. This food truck has everything a great truck should.. amazing food, appropriate prices, excelling service, and to top it off, lots of personality and flair. I usually see them on Thursdays at the Gallivan for lunch The food here is great, and hopefully my opinion is credible as I am indeed Korean. The only thing I haven't tried here is the chicken, but everything else (beef/bulgogi, spicy pork, noodles, and mandoo aka dumplings) are all exceptionally authentic and makes me feel right at home. The decently sized cups are filled with rice, salad mix, and your meat of choice, or make it a combo! They also add some sauces on top to add some spice and kick. I always go for extra hot... which hits the spot perfectly. Great flavor and juuuust enough heat to make me sweat, but not crying for my umma (mommy). The cups are around $7.50 or $8.50 for the combo, and mandoo (dumplings) are $1 extra. Not insanely cheap, but definitely a great deal for the amount of Delicious food in that cup! They also started giving out free hot barley tea since the temps have dropped, which is definitely a nice touch for those freezing while waiting in the long line (which is totally worth the wait). Lastly, what I think sets these guys apart is the service and personality of the staff. It's amazing how happy and friendly these guys (and gal) are, considering they are couped up in that truck all day. It's always nice to get great customer service and smile in addition to my awesome food. My last two cents is that it would be nice if they added kimchee to the menu. Wow. I've been here a couple more times and thought I'd update my review. I really, really love these guys. If the truck is near me, I'm there. I decided to try the spicy level 10. It was a battle. I love spicy food, and I'm not just saying that like some people do. I actually love spicy food. I make everything spicy. I put hot sauce on everything, I buy a new bottle of Sriacha pretty frequently. When the Gateway Mall's hot sauce store was going out of business I bought up half the store. I love hot sauce and spicy food. The 10 was a beast. It hurt so good. My face was sweating pretty hard by the end of it, but it still tasted so, so, so good. I'm not sure when the next time I slay a 10 will be, but probably not for a while. Make sure you have milk near by when you eat it, as that was the only thing that could temporarily stop the hurt. I wouldn't recommend eating it at work. It's all so good. The entire experience is fantastic. The food is just amazing, you get a good amount of it, and the price is perfect. They will take the time to explain the menu options and recommend a level of spiciness that is just right for your personal taste. I had the combo bowl that includes both beef, pork, rice, and noodles. Sadly, they ran out of the noodles, so they ended up putting extra meat in my order to compensate. Finally, a Korean BBQ place in Utah! I'm from Hawaii and I love Korean BBQ. I decided to get the fried chicken after seeing someone else order it because it looked like it had the biggest portion. I love the Korean noodles so I asked them to sub the rice with just all noodles. They do give a side of noodles in the cup. For first timers, they give you a piece of mandoo just to try it. The fried chicken was nice. It felt like a lot of breading, though. Kind of has a crunchy texture. My friend ordered the bulgogi I thought the meat was pretty good. It was tender and full of flavor. Portion size was pretty small for what you pay. If you're looking for Korean BBQ fix, this is a convenient place to come. It hits the spot. But it is pretty pricey for the portion that you get.
