Thicker crust, pillowy, and crisp. Pizza sauce flavorful and slightly sweet. Toppings were awesome. Wings both flavors were great and if you're a bleu cheese fan...GET THE BLUE CHEESE! Just to update my review from last year... WOW! Still excellent! Today we shared with friends... get a jumbo, he said. So I ordered a large. It was mammoth! Yummy crust, generous toppings, tons of pepperoni, and nice crispy cheese. We topped it off with the little dough balls with butter and sugar, just to be truly decadent. We were all really happy with our choice. The guy who seems always to be there (owner? Manager? I'm embarrassed that I haven't asked even tho we have chatted) is so nice! Warm, friendly, efficient! I grew up in Buffalo NY. Therefor, when I heard of this place I was excited to go! At first I was hesitant on how I felt about the pizza. Given my many years of having had Buffalo Pizza. Then I remembered, having been it Texas for so long, I may have come accustomed to what I have been currently having. The pizza was indeed quite good. The Char on it brought back awesome memories. The sauce was on point. I am going to give it another round. This time around I will ask for extra cheese. The service was awesome and the place was clean with a bright atmosphere. First time here. Small place. Service/ordering at counter was friendly. Had the originals...pepperoni pizza and medium Buffalo wings. I'm a NY'er so anything other than NY style I consider an Italian dish. But it was excellent. The dough was pillowy soft but the edges were well baked and crusty. The cupped pepperoni was excellent. I have been here twice. Both times, I had the same pepperoni pizza special. It's surprisingly good pizza! The same guy was at the counter both times. I haven't asked if he is the owner yet. He explained the name to me is from the kind of pepperoni they use. What's funny is that I initially thought this was some sort of soup and sandwich shop the first time I wandered in (because of the name). I don't even like pepperoni pizza! But I LOVE theirs. I was willing to try it the first time out of curiosity. I'd never heard of Buffalo style pizza before. But it was an instant hit for me. This is my first time coming here and already im craving it everyday, the food was absolutely delicious. First the breadstick were soft in the inside but the outer layer was well crusted, second the pizza is pretty good the pepperoni looks charred but it doesnt taste like it, and third their wings were completely covered and crispy. The taste is just the right amount of spice for me and my family. The service was wonderful we were greeted by a nice man and our order came quick, a good 10 minute wait for it all. Last the ambiance of it was very modern, they have a big tv on one of the walls and the music isnt to loud, the typical music played is pop. It isnt the biggest pizzeria but its very comforting. Massive slices, and a different type of pizza than what you are used to in Houston. I really enjoy every bite, and would recommend you try it out if you are a fan of pizza. My wife and I drove past probably 100 or more pizza places on our way from the Meyerland area to Cup N Char. The person who took our order was friendly, helpful, and really nice. And boy, howdy, was it ever worth it. We ordered about $80 worth of appetizers, pizza, and desserts. Everything was perfectly on point, even after being reheated upon our return home. I have been to NY state, but not as north as Buffalo. So the name brings to mind Coffee and Pizza. Lol. I now have read that the name describes the special pepperoni under searing heat: curling up and charring at the edge. Because the thicker dough style requires higher/longer baking temp to achieve a crisp bottom and edge, while remaining airy and pillowy. Most of the posts display dark bake, so I requested lighter. It's more problematic because the kitchen has to hit the sweet spot to still get a crispy bottom. I ordered the Veggies with Sausage. The sauce is buttery. The dough is tender crispy. A description I agree to is a crispy Focaccia- but not chewy and with substantial toppings. I need to try the namesake Cup N Char Pepperoni next time. I also ordered the Cheese Burger Sub. Don't expect compact patties, more like chopped Steak Sub. It's a modern take with meat and plenty of crispy lettuce and tomatoes. Just like the pizza, it's carefully seasoned with no excessive salt. I have an obsession with dough. The bread is home made. Though impractical, it gives me the impression it was fresh baked! It's a new dough for me. And it's becoming a favorite. read more

"Smells like home". The name threw me off, until I read a review that said "owners from Buffalo, NY. This was my first time having Buffalo style pizza and it was great! I'm not a fan of Chicago style pizza so NY thin crust is the best in my opinion but Buffalo style is a great option in addition to NY style thin crust if you want a fluffier crust but don't want the crappy pizza from chains like Pappa johns, Pizza Hut, etc, I had a half cheese and half chicken finger pizza, their quality of cheese is great and their sauce is amazing as well. With the crust being thicker and fluffier I would recommend a side of pizza sauce to dip the crust in. Highly recommend them! read more
