Just had to drop a quick note about my recent experience with this awesome chiropractor in Bellevue, Dr. Cummins. I've been to my fair share of chiropractors having had a few injuries over the years, but honestly, I wish every chiropractor is as good as he is. Even if I live farther away, I will still drive the distance because he is THAT good. His clinic's is in the Factoria area of Bellevue, super easy to find. And the minute you walk in, you get the feeling you're going be taken care of. As a new patient, they write your name on a board to welcome you to their clinic, which is a nice touch. Plus, no waiting around forever to see the doc, the staff's super chill and welcoming, and the whole vibe is just really calming. My husband helped me find this clinic, because I had injured my neck and I could barely move-- I was in so much pain. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say I was in about a 8-9 pain level that day. Right away, him and his team got to work on me. He took his time to listen to my issues and explain what had happened that led to this. After working on me a bit, I would say the immediate pain already went down a level. After the 1st visit, because we were going into the weekend when the office is normally closed, the Dr even told me to text him if things got worse in the next day or 2. Having that ability to text the doc when he is technically off work really impressed me, it showed me he actually cared about my well being. After visiting him 2 more times in the course of the 1st 7 days, my pain was already way more manageable, which is pretty quick, considering how much pain I was in initially. The regular expectation when you visit a Chiropractor is that they will do an adjustment and then they send you on your way. However, Dr. Cummins doesn't just do that, he actually teaches you exercises to help with posture, even provides tools to help with recovery. For example, I was given magnets for my neck to help with inflammation and I was provided with a special neck thing that I can rest on at home for up to 20 mins/day so that I can recover faster. He's also all about getting to the root of your issues to prevent future problems. Fancy that- a chiropractor that is actually trying to get you in better health so you don't need to visit him as often. That's pretty rare in Doctors, but pretty awesome. If you're on the lookout for a chiropractor, it's so important to find someone who's not only really good at what they do, but who genuinely cares and doesn't just solve the symptom but gets to the root cause of the problem to prevent reoccurrence. Dr. Cummins checks all the boxes and more, and I'm so grateful I found him. I can happily report that my pain has completely gone away and I now have tools to hopefully never have emergencies like I did, ever again. I saw Dr. Cummins from 2018-2019 but unfortunately moved away from the Washington area. When you come in for your first appointment there's a personalized sign welcoming you. Seriously nice touch! I originally came because I was having some pain in my hip, driving was nearly impossible, I couldn't do any of the things I loved to do, running, gardening all left me in severe pain. After seeing him pretty regularly for about a month I was starting to see some great changes. I remember leaving the office in tears one day because I was so grateful to have my life back. I got my first "old-man" injury and went to see Dr. Bob in desperate need. I was at a 9 on the pain scale, and really doubted that I could get relief anytime soon. I was impressed with how well things flowed from the moment they scheduled me. My confirmation email outlined expectations and helped me feel like I was in great hands. Actual care was incredible. Dr. Bob is a guru on the human body and he filled me with knowledge (info makes me feel comfortable) on my injury, what can be done in the immediate, and what the next steps were. (Side note: my wife is the type that values bedside manner, while I'm less concerned. I know she would love this place.) I've been visiting Dr. Cummins for the past few months. I cannot thank enough for how Dr. Cummins has helped me improve my health condition. Neck pain has been my nightmare. Through the years, due to bad postures in school and work, I've developed a pretty bad neck issue. It severely limits my energy and productivity. I feel I can only live 60~70% of what I should/like to do. I had a herniated disc ( a serious back injury) from a dirt hauling accident. Surgery is often an answer for this but only has a 50% success. In a couple of weeks I was able to take walks again. Several treatments later, I was almost completely pain free when I re injured my back. Several treatments later I am back to 98% pain free. Now I only go back every couple of weeks especially after long days in the car. The exercises I have learned from Dr. Bob have really helped me strengthen my back. I was recommended to see Dr. Bob by my daughter. I had received chiropractic care in the past and I reacted very well to treatment. However, it had been many years since my treatment. The main reason I decided to again seek chiropractic care was due to an old College injury. My neck was injured in a fall and I lived with the pain for years. My previous chiropractic care was directed to a lower back injury, but did not really address the neck pain. By the time I began care with Dr. Bob, the neck pain had become acute. I was unable to sleep and my sense of well being was greatly impacted. With Dr. Bob I was at ease from the beginning. He is kind, gentle and very caring and the caring is genuine! When I first met Dr. Cummins, I was have having chronic back/neck pain and headaches, and was curious to know what was going on with my body. Dr. Cummins took the time to explain the details of spinal health and how it relates to overall health, and provided x-rays and other screenings that showed where my problems were. We developed a plan to get me back to full health, which included so much MORE than just the adjustments - which is what makes this place so incredible, and so different from any other chiropractor I've been to. With a lot of chiropractors, it feels like you are in and out for five minutes of treatment, and that's it. At Cummins Chiropractic and Wellness, they give you specific stretches to do every day, and provide an in-house exercise area with equipment (matts, light weights, bosu balls, etc.) that you can utilize before or after your adjustment. Traction is often used along with the adjustments to help realign your spine. Dr. Cummins is very intuitive, and is incredibly skilled at what he does. He can feel where the pain is in my back and neck without me needing to tell him. And he's is always up on the newest technologies, which is great! It is also very apparent that the Cummins team cares about EVERY aspect of your health. The front desk staff (I loved them immediately!) have fresh fruit and water when you come in, and give you a hand-out that contains has health tips or interesting stories related to health. A form asks how your pain levels have been, and if you are doing positive things in your life (eating well, exercising, thinking positively, etc.). And THIS is especially cool - each year they offer 8-week workshops to get healthy. They provide a lifestyle assessment, help you create a vision for the new year, send you healthy smoothie recipes each day, and meet you for a walk/run every Saturday morning to help you get active. Dr. Cummins' wife Anna (who is amazing, funny, and down-to-earth, and who happens to be an Olympic gold-medalist) comes along sometimes, as does the front desk staff. It really feels like a team where everyone in the office is pulling for me. I can honestly say that I've never met another doctor this dedicated to their patients' wellness. Since I met Dr. Cummins, I have gone from being in pain the majority of the time to having only minor flare-ups here and there.
