This burger could make Wisconsin a serious contender in the burger wars (Habit, In-N-Out, Shake Shack). Butterburger was made with fresh beef seared to order and topped with real American cheese made in Wisconsin, of course! We also ordered a side of Cheese Curds because when in Wisconsin... it was our first taste and loved the deep-fried golden brown buttery crunch. Customer service was great, the young employee was patient and helpful when we were deciding. Inside was clean with plenty of table and booth seating. This was our first meal in Wisconsin! Wait, what?? More than 1,000 locations across 26 states and not one in California? I guess the closest Culver's is in Arizona at Queen Creek. There was a round table honoring America's POW... "reserved to honor missing comrades in arms." It had a vase with a red ribbon tied to it, a slice of lemon on the bread plate, a pinch of salt, a Bible, the glass is inverted. I try to associate Culver's with consistency. Unfortunately, this location hasn't delivered that experience for me. The biggest issue is that it never tastes the same. One visit, the burger is hot and flavorful;the next is soggy and flat. Fries have ranged from perfectly crispy to limp and over seasoned. That kind of inconsistency makes it hard to count on, especially for a chain that's built its reputation on quality and uniformity. Service has been okay -- not rude, but not particularly warm or attentive either. Had the worst service from here. I order a buffalo chicken finger meal and as I'm answering the girl in drive thru, I ask if I can have a large sweet tea no ice. She replies yes. Do you want the fries large also. Yes. I kindly ask her if I can have them in a different bag please for my son because of his allergies and before I can even get the allergies out and finish my sentence she rudely cuts me off and just tells me to pull forward. I get my drink and pull off to the side which I'm already with 5 other vehicles. I didn't feel the ice in the drink before I pulled off but when I parked, there was ice in it. So I hand it back to her in drive thru and tell her no ice. I didn't stay there to say anything because she wasn't that concerned when I was explaining why I needed the fries in a separate bag originally in the beginning. My food and drink come out and the fries are in with the bag and not in a separate bag like I asked for politely. If you acknowledge someone you when answering question but nothing was done. That's pretty horrible service. Especially when I was at the speaker, I politely double checked to make sure the fries would be in a separate bag, she replies, it's written down. I love Culvers and after a rough weekend of work all I wanted was my butterburger- turns out right now they have the colby pub burger back! Yaay! So good! ... unfortunately. I went through the drive through, only to be rushed along. She was rudely rushing me and didn't listen, there wasn't a lot of traffic behind me, oh well. But she got my order wrong. I said large cheese curds - I got medium.. okies whatever, but she gave me a HUGE attitude when I asked for my receipt. But she didn't make my meal into a basket like I asked her too and I overpaid To top it off the food was so old! My burger was not even warm to the touch in any form! They were busy but they kept the lines moving and because they are known for making their things fresh to order there was a wait time and we dined in. When we got our food, a few kids meals, butterburger, cheesecurds and fries. Everything came out right but was slightly disappointed in the butterburger. It was smashed and put together semi sloppy. I had never been to Culver's before. But I was excited from everything I see on the internet. We got butter burgers, fries, cheese curds, pretzel bites, and a frozen custard. Everything was mid. This place seriously needs everything to make it "okay". I went through the drive-thru and asked if they had any fish without a bun. While the girl was eating food spilling it out of her face she said no, and that I needed to back up and place an order. In the meantime I went to the next window which said there was "dinner option" okay let me get that. Then gave me a sticker to put on my car window. They cam out after about 5 minutes. The guy was really nice. I opened the bag and it was on a bun. WTAF???? Stop and go inside. Talked to Annie. She was very helpful. Got the order straightened out- and 6$ and some more. We were excited to use the "Curdside Pickup" feature on the app to reduce wait times. When we arrived, we were right on time for our scheduled order and pressed the button that we were there. After waiting 6-7 minutes we just went inside and our food was on the counter instead of being brought out to us. We grabbed the food and got back to the car and realized they hadn't gotten our drink for us, so we went back in. The food itself was good and what you'd expect, the service for the curbside pickup feature just wasn't there. Hopefully better luck using that feature next time! read more

Buyer beware they are overcharging customers. In my most recent visit, I ordered a single butterburger basket. When the cashier told me the price, I questioned why it was so high. I looked on the screen and saw that she rang it up as a double. When I pointed it out, she said that was the default. What? She offered to change it to a single if I wanted her to, um, yes, because that's what I ordered. When I sat down with the rest of my party, I had them check their receipts, and sure enough, everyone who ordered a single was charged for a double. Located near the Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets, it's a convenient spot to stop by when it's time for lunch/dinner and you're hungry! I had the Culver's Bacon Deluxe, which came with 2 beef patties, two strips of bacon, WI cheese (woot woot!), lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, red onion, and their signature mayo, all on a lightly buttered & toasted bun. The burger itself was quite juicy, and the toppings were generous. In all honesty, the main reason why I go to Culver's is for their WI Cheese Curds - made with un-aged yellow and white WI cheddar, these little nuggets are deep-fried golden brown; think of mozzarella sticks, but being oh-so-much better and in nugget/bite-sized form! They are super crispy, and comes with either ranch or marinara (I opt for the ranch). You can do dine-in or do their drive-thru; the place gets super backed up, regardless if you're dining in or doing the drive-thru. What an awful experience. Horribly long wait times, low quality food, confusing and poorly-marked drive-thru, ignorant employees. Multiple lanes of cars stuck for 20 minutes at a time inching forward as multiple employees wander the parking lot with cold bags of food. This location is ALWAYS a mess and it's ALWAYS busy and there are ALWAYS customers.. If you're located next to the busiest shopping center in the county, use some of your revenue and expand and make your drive thru practical! How disrespectful to your clientele to have the same unorganized mess for years on end. Skip this one and go to the Culver's by Mars Cheese or south to the one off 41 in Waukegan. It was my first time at a Culver's. I did see them at many locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. We decided to stop by this location, since it was close to the Pleasant Prairie Outlet Mall and Jelly Belly Candy Company. They're known for their frozen custard and what better place to experience it than Wisconsin, home of dairy. The prices were really reasonable and they had a good selection of menu items. I ordered the butterfly shrimp and the hubby got the butterburger. We also tried two of their concrete mixers and the Wisconsin cheese curds. The shrimp and burger was good. The concrete mixers were way too sweet. It could have been because of all the candy toppings we put in it. It would have been better just to add fruits and nuts. My favorite was the cheese curds. They were delicious. It's made from un-aged yellow and white cheddar cheese sourced locally from a family owned dairy in Wisconsin. It was perfect with the ranch dipping sauce. Culver's also has its own brand of root beer. I had to try it and loved it. It's almost like A&W, but more on the sweeter side. I wish that they'd bottle it and sell it in stores. read more

Stopped at this Culver's on my last trip to Milwaukee. It was unfortunately one of the slowest drive through I've ever been to and thete was only one car in front of me. I was given a number and asked to pull up and park. I truly understand Culvers makes your order when ordered, and I'm used to waiting because I usually order fries with no salt and a cheeseburger plain. But guess what? My cheeseburger came loaded with toppings and the fries were heavily salted. I was on a schedule so didn't go back to complain but ate a few fries and one messy bite of the sandwich then threw it all out in Milwaukee. So disappointed as I typically love Culvers while in WI. I absolutely love Culver's and live at Breeze Terrace it's within walking distance. The food and service are fine. The main complaint I have, and the reason for giving only 3 stars, has everything to do with the drive thru experience. I don't know if Culver's is trying to copy Chick-Fil-A, installing the little booths, or not. I feel that the employees who man those booths should be completely familiar with your menu items. I eat at Culver's at least twice a week. My order is incorrect at least half the time. I love your pot roast meal and have ordered it for the past 3 years. I ordered it a lot during Covid. I rarely went to the grocery store. I usually end up explaining to the person taking my order what I want. I sometimes end up with the sandwich and other times I end up missing the sides. The meal is similar to the pot roast sandwich but also would come with broccoli, mashed potatoes and gravy, then a side roll with butter. If you have changed this meal please let me know and I'll stop ordering it. The other complaint, or an opportunity for improvement would be to communicate to your drive thru customer to pull completely up to the sign. Many of your customers just stop and then it backs up your line. The customer's are still going to receive their order no matter where they pull up. That's what the number connected to their order is all about, and the reason you place it on their side mirror. I used to think it was the IL customer's that wouldn't pull up, however I've noticed that it's WI too. I've ordered the flavor of the day, in a dish, and was unable to pick it up, at your window. That's ridiculous I shouldn't have to go inside to get it. What's the point of ordering either a scoop of your frozen custard or a drink, if you cannot pick it up because the cars won't pull forward? First Wisconsin Culver's I've tried and it did not disappoint. I've tried Culver's from out of state and it does not compare. The chicken sandwich was delicious and perfectly spicy. Culver's with well trained staff offers delicious butter burger which is like a bit more wet burger very moist that melts in your mouth. Another crowd favorite is cheese curds, very Wisconsin in its nature but everybody's favorite. I searched for the other locations and was pleasantly surprised that NC offers same franchise. You'll find incredibly friendly service at this Culver's, or at least I did. Every employee we spoke with or even walked by said have a nice day to us on our way out. The custard was really good too, better even than the Culver locations that are closer to our home. The other nice thing about this one is they have a huge overflow parking lot in case they get hit with a rush of people. The people at the registers seemed to know how to handle a crowd too. I go thru thru the drive thruto get a double cheeseburger with lettuce. I drive 15 minutes home, bite into my cheeseburger and everything on it. The whole staff is completely negligent. No one should have to suck that hard! 2 medium shakes 1 side of onion rings 1 side of cheese curds -------------------------------- $13 - WTF! For $13 you could at least blend my shake; the chocolate syrup was hardly even blended in, there were big, visible patches of it on the side of the cup. I thought I might pop a few blood vessels from the effort it took to get the shake through the straw! Culver's is the In n Out of the Midwest! Every time I come in here there is a line in the restaurant or the drive thru wraps around the building. I will say that they know how to move customers. I have had the pleasure of going through the drive thru here and also eating inside and eating outside...I know I am starting to become a regular here but I blame my wife for introducing me to this place 6 weeks ago. The lines move so fast in here. If you are in your car, they have someone walking the line to take your order and if your food is not ready after you pay then someone brings it out to your car. And if you order inside then they give you a number and they deliver the food to your table. There is never a traffic jam of people or cars just waiting in the middle blocking everyone from placing there order. Yes it is extremely efficient for fast food. I really love the Classic Double Burger here...it is simple...lettuce, tomato, red onion, cheese, ketchup, mustard, butter grilled bread and of course two patties. It also comes with mayo but I never get mayo. I did notice that the board said, "Our special mayo" and I thought I want to try that. I asked the girl at the counter for the mayo on the side and when I got my food it was Heinz mayo in a packet. Is that really the special mayo? I felt really let down and did not even open it up or put it on my burger. Nothing special about a product made by Heinz! I love how they smash and char the burgers here because it gives it such a unique taste. My favorite bites are the first one here and the last one because it is all char-burger. So yummy! If you're headed to the Pleasant Prairie Outlets for some bargain shopping, stop by Culvers for some quick and delicious fast food! There is plenty of parjing but it does get very crowded. When you get in, there are separate lines for each register, so don't get stuck at the one closest to the door, which is always the longest! I would recommend their butter burgers, especially the Culver's Bacon Deluxe which comes with 2 patties. You can upgrade from fries to cheese curds for just $1 more, which is totally worth it. For drinks, I would recommend their Root Beer. They will give you a number at the register, and then you find your own table and wait for your food. The food comes out pretty quickly. Stopped in on our way to Milwaukee. First time eating at this concept. I'm giving it a 3 star rating mostly because it was freezing in there - guess they don't want you to linger. But also because of the shredded lettuce. My husband had a burger and I had the crispy chicken sandwich with a side of onion rings (it comes with fries - but I'm not a fan of fat fries). The sandwich was very good - however it's served with shredded lettuce as was the burger. This makes NO SENSE to me - have any of these concepts that serve shredded lettuce on their sandwich or burgers actually eaten one? There is more lettuce on the plate than consumed with the sandwich! Culver's has always been a family tradition,since it was just a small group of restaurants in Wisconsin in the beginning. I always loved this Culver's franchise. It is always clean And inviting. The food it is what I know Culvers food to be. I don't even need to tell you about the butter burgers and the frozen custard. I was very impressed today when I heard a manager talking to a young lady who is applying for a job. She was probably 14 or 15. He was so encouraging toward college and extracurricular activities, and not working too much. What a place to work I would imagine. All their employees seem happy and like their jobs. You can tell that a place is great by the line out the door. And yes, there was a literal line out the door for Culver's when I went today. Granted, noon is pretty peak, but I've never experienced a Culver's that was so crowded. Crowded as it was, it was only a short wait to make our order and there was luckily a table that freed up just as we were looking for it. The food was just as expected, excellent. The service was also what is expected from any Culver's, exceptional. Its a place that you can always count on for good food. The best part of the visit was walking up to the counter with my daughters, custard coupons in hand, and letting them order whatever custard they wanted. It comes free with any kids meal. If you aren't familiar with Culvers, I would say that it's as close to a "five star" fast food dining experience as you can get. They are probably most famous for their frozen custard (like ice cream, but better). It is more expensive than most other fast food places, but the food is much higher quality than Mcdonalds, Burger King, TacoBell, etc. The kids meals (dessert included) are about $5 and they have several "snack pack" adult meals for $5 or less, which is usually enough to fill me up. For those with larger appetites, you can get most bigger meal deals from $7-$10. There is quite a large menu variety including soups, salads, chili, Reuben sandwiches, fish baskets, and VERY yummy fried cheese curds. They even have their own delicious brand of root beer (and diet root beer) on tap with unlimited refills when you dine in. The food takes a little longer to prepare compared to McDonalds because everything is made to order, but it's not a big deal, because after you order, you can sit down and they bring the food to your table (no tip necessary). The best thing about Culvers is the custard. Basically, custard is like ice cream, but richer because they add egg as an ingredient. Every day, Culvers features a "flavor of the day" where they mix different things in the custard. It's kind of like a Blizzard from Dairy Queen, but much better. Today's flavor was Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Be sure to save your receipt (not the one they give you when you order, but the one you get with your food). For the past several months, this particular Culvers (and many others) invite you to take a phone or online survey to rate your experience. It just takes a couple minutes and you get a coupon for a free single custard dish "on your next visit". I usually complete the survey on my iPhone while we eat and get the confirmation code right then and have one of the kids run back to the counter to claim my free custard. Nobody has ever said I have to wait until next visit. It's worth a couple bucks and makes my adult meal with dessert actually cost less than the kids meals. From an accessibility standpoint, Culvers also exceeds expectations. The employees are especially conscientious and considerate. Even though I always have at least one of my children, or my husband, with me when I dine in, an employee is there to greet me at the door and hold it open. It is common while dining for an employee asks if I need anything, like a refill or ketchup, which makes life much easier. At the end of the meal, staff assures me that they will help clear my tray (garbage) from the table. Generally speaking, the dining area is spacious and there are both table and booth options. The bathroom has plenty of room and is convenient to use. I have never felt hindered by my disability when I enjoy a meal at Culvers. This Culvers is consistently clean and friendly, with quality food! It has character too! Last visit they were quietly playing "Insane in the Membrane" by Cypress Hill over the PA system. Just ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger basket. Huge mistake. Fries and onion rings were fine. The burger patty is another issue. The sandwich is very bland, but perhaps that's because the patty is so thin. So thin in fact, that the mushroom slices were thicker (not exaggerating). When you consider this is a $5 sandwich, you're left wondering, "What the heck did I just pay for?" I feel ripped off.
