By far the worst Culver's food I've ever had. The burger was cold, extremely dry and crunchy. Tasted like it had set out for many hours. Culver's everywhere else is warm, the bread has a freshly buttery texture and taste but this one wasn't that. The cashier, who handles money, kept putting his hands on and in the cup as a nervous reaction while taking our order. I upped my rating to 2 stars because the military discount was generous. Corporate really should come retrain the whole staff, management included since they haven't corrected issues that should be basic procedure. I hope it gets better!! read more

It's Lent season and when it is Lent season, I look forward to Culver's Fried Cod. I've lived on this side of the river for four years and this was my first visit to this Culver's. It so far off the beaten path, I forget it is here. I still get my ButterBurger fix when I am in St. Louis. I stopped in for lunch, after running errands in E-ville. As I stated earlier, it's Lent, so I ordered the Cod Dinner. It came with 2 pieces, crinkle fries, slaw and a dinner roll. It didn't come with a beverage, so I had to order one. Culver's has their own, Root Beer and I like that they offer it in a diet. So I'll let you guess what I ordered. My meal was hot and fresh when delivered to my table. When I broke one of the pieces of Cod open, steam flowed out. The slaw is better than the slaw served at KFC. The fries are crinkle, which is my personal favorite. I like how the ketchup hangs on to the groves in the fries. I didn't try the dinner roll, so no feedback on that item. Getting your soda is self serve. I'm not a fan of ketchup bottles on tables, so I am glad that Culver's offers small cups and a large dispenser for their guest. Little Cups of Ketchup are one of my hot buttons, so kudos to Culver's. The young lady who brought my food to the table was a delight, she was friendly and professional. When I was leaving, I ordered a small vanilla cone and the young man who prepared it, was equally as friendly and professional. They both deserve, gold stars. However, the reason for the 3 Star rating, is all due to the cashier. This young lady had the personality of a dirty dish rag. I cut her some slack when I ordered my meal, but when I came back and ordered my cone, she was just as bad. When we visit Culvers, it's almost almost always for their custard. It's **the creamiest** custard around. Yes, it's a chain, but when you're looking for a place for a bunch of middle schoolers to go after a band concert, this is the place to go. There's a flavor for everyone! Tonight, we had a chocolate shake with extra hot fudge and a chocolate caramel twist flavor-of-the-day concrete mixer. If we want a savory snack, the kiddo loves the crinkle fries, and I love the fried cheese curds. We didn't get those tonight, but I've had them on other occasions. I also learned tonight that Culvers has a veggie burger. I had no idea! That opens it up as a lunch place for my mostly vegetarian family. I'll have to try that soon. If I could rate this place 0 starts I would specifically because of the owner. The owner came into my place of work (which has no parking lot) yelling at me and my boss in front of our customers about parking in his parking lot. He was extremely aggressive and calling us names and would not leave our building. My workplace doesn't have a parking lot for employees to park which is why I parked at Culver's. I really hate to write this review because this has always been my families favorite restaurant. The service I experience today absolutely disgusted me & for that reason we will never come back. I came in today with a special request, my younger brother recently just received a bone marrow transplant & has special orders to simply make the food fresh (in which he then had to consume it within an hour). This is very crucial as he can get severely ill if the food has been sitting out as bacteria grows after 45min or so. I asked politely & briefly explained my situation. The girl looked at me like I was crazy & being over dramatic. She then stared at her computer for a few minutes & then turned to her friend as they all were making faces (made me feel like a "Karen" for wanting to care properly for my brothers health. Proceeded to ask what it was I wanted in which I continued to tell them I just need it to come out fresh, it can't be sitting out. This took a while & then finally she said okay next. I looked at her & asked if she was going to tell the kitchen to prep it that way. She told me she would & continued to take new orders. I then proceeded to monitor the situation very closely to see if they would tell the kitchen. 5 minutes went by & nothing happened. Finally I heard someone make a comment but they rolled their eyes so it made me feel uneasy about it. Then I watched as the girl working the expo take the fries & cheese curds that had been under the lamp the longest & put them in the bag. The kid came over to me & I smiled & politely asked again- did this food come out fresh. He then told me everything comes out fresh & I apologized & reiterated the importance of this as it could lead to infection quickly & shock for a kid with a compromised immune system. He then told me he would happily watch me take out the food & feel it if it's hot. There's a very big difference to hot vs fresh! A heat lamp makes something hot whether it's new or old. The whole crew I interacted with were highly unprofessional. It is clear the Edwardsville Culver's doesn't love accommodating for sick cancer kids! Here I have provided a how to make food fresh check list in case another sweet family comes in looking for a similar request, hope this helps!! I was in the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon running errands and decided to hit the drive through at Culver's for lunch. The line was long and the parking lot for inside dining was nearly full. I have only been to Culver's a handful of times. The exterior of the building appeared neat and clean and there was signage through the property that told you about their menu. I ordered the Double Butter Cheese Burger meal and a strawberry shake ($15.36). The lady at the window was friendly and provided great service. The line moved quickly and, after paying, I was asked to pull forward. My order came out within a few minutes and I headed to my next errand stop to eat in the parking lot. The crinkle cut fries were HOT and fresh, could've used a tad more salt, but otherwise awesome! I pulled the burger from the box and took my first bite, and instantly realized that was maybe the top 3 best bites from a fast food hamburger ever! The strawberry shake was full of chunks of fresh strawberry and tasted great. I haven't been a huge fan of Culver's in the past, but after today, they may move into a more frequent rotation when I am in the area. read more

I haven't had Culver's in about two years because of a crappy experience that I had at the Collinsville location. One of the things that I used to love about Culver's were the crispy edges that their burgers always had. I decided to try them again today and was thoroughly disappointed. There were no crispy edges, the burger had too much mustard and was really not much better than any other burger joint. Just went through the drive through and took my stuff home. This is a picture of my Four piece Chicken Tenders and a side order of Fries. I got three Tenders and exactly 13 Fries. C'mon Culver's, Do Better. My 3 year old Grand daughter can count to four. So the tenders cost me $2.00 each and look & taste like they came from Sam's. Sometimes you just want a quick hamburger. I use to love coming here for the fried chicken, but they quit offering it, so we don't come here often. We normally do not eat at Culver's. We will never be back! We ordered thru drive thru. The exchange was pleasant untill we moved forward. Not knowing we were suppose to move all the way to the other side of the building. We moved one spot forward. The employee came out and yelled at us. Then yelled at the truck behind us that I was to "stupid" to understand to move up. I said to my son, how far are we supposed to move up? She yells back at me. Go around! Wow! Wow! I parked the car and went inside and waited in line. While in line the same worker is ranting how I did not know how to pull around. She was rude an mocking me. I continued to stay in line and asked to speak to the manager. The "manager" or as she said "one of them" clearly did not want to speak to me. As her worker was yelling at me from the drive thru spot? I told the "manager " how her employee was extremely rude to me. She said we will get your food. No apology. No asking me what happened? Clearly she was not the manager! I asked for the corporate number. She let me know they were locally owned. I asked for a number to reach out to the owners. She said I could not have that. Of course, I did not want their private numbers. But they do not have a customer line? Or customer website/ email contact. Nope. She just stood there and said well, I did not see what happened. First I am a grown women. This was a child yelling at me. Second, you just heard your guest state that your employee was extremely rude. I totally understand and agree you should speak to your employee. But as your guest in front of you. You should extend an apology for the way they "felt" they were treated. Even while speaking to the "manager". The girl is yelling at me from the drive thru window spot! The "manager" just looked the other way. Did not address her very bad behavior when it was right in front of her! The one thing most people can agree. Culver's usually has very gracious and kind people working for them. Great manners! This was not the case today. Cleary this particular establishment did not train their employee or their management team on proper procedures. We we finally get home open the food. I've been a regular customer to this specific Culvers location for about two years. One of the reason why I go to this Culvers is because I know the service is amazing...until my past two visits. I've had some pretty bad experiences at other Culvers locations including getting my order wrong twice, finding hair in my food, and just plain rude service. I stopped going to that restaurant and found that the Edwardsville location had genuinely friendly and superb communication skills meaning they haven't gotten my order wrong....EVER. So that puts us up to date at about last week when I walked into Culvers around lunch time. It was obviously the lunch rush and I immediately was stunned at the full lobby and the twenty or so cars in the drive thru. I was patient and stood in line at one of the three registers open. I waited for about ten minutes until I reached the counter where I watched the front counter employee walk away and start filling bags (for the backed up drive thru I'm assuming). I waited and finally she turns around and with this preteen attitude she informs me that register is closed. Not once did this employee notify me but instead walked away and minutes later tells my friend and I the register is closed. OK that's fine, she's probably just having a bad day and stressed due to the number of people in the lobby. So, I moved to the next shortest line to place my order. The same exact thing happened. As soon as I got to the counter I was told the register was closed. I cannot understand why in a rush you'd only have one register open. I spent twenty minutes waiting to place my order. I watched three other families walk out the door due to a number of issues including the same exact preteen girl who gave me her attitude, undercooked food, and just again bad service. The staff here has always been great! Place always seems to be clean. Drive through is convenient, not always the fastest but I don't mind waiting because I know I will get hot freshly cooked food. At least I have so far. Place is similar to Steak 'n Shake but I think the food and ice cream is better quality. Culvers is a favorite! I've been to several locations in Illinois and Wisconsin including Edwardsville, IL. The food is freshly made every day and the frozen yogurt is truly the very best! My favorite treat is their Concrete Mixer loaded with peanut butter sauce and Reese's peanut butter cups in chocolate frozen yogurt! Try it and be ready to load the calories on and get your sweet tooth and palate prepped! The prices are a little on the higher end, but the food is really fresh and delicious.
