It's Lent season and when it is Lent season, I look forward to Culver's Fried Cod. I've lived on this side of the river for four years and this was my first visit to this Culver's. It so far off the beaten path, I forget it is here. I still get my ButterBurger fix when I am in St. Louis. I stopped in for lunch, after running errands in E-ville. As I stated earlier, it's Lent, so I ordered the Cod Dinner. It came with 2 pieces, crinkle fries, slaw and a dinner roll. It didn't come with a beverage, so I had to order one. Culver's has their own, Root Beer and I like that they offer it in a diet. So I'll let you guess what I ordered. My meal was hot and fresh when delivered to my table. When I broke one of the pieces of Cod open, steam flowed out. The slaw is better than the slaw served at KFC. The fries are crinkle, which is my personal favorite. I like how the ketchup hangs on to the groves in the fries. I didn't try the dinner roll, so no feedback on that item. Getting your soda is self serve. I'm not a fan of ketchup bottles on tables, so I am glad that Culver's offers small cups and a large dispenser for their guest. Little Cups of Ketchup are one of my hot buttons, so kudos to Culver's. The young lady who brought my food to the table was a delight, she was friendly and professional. When I was leaving, I ordered a small vanilla cone and the young man who prepared it, was equally as friendly and professional. They both deserve, gold stars. However, the reason for the 3 Star rating, is all due to the cashier. This young lady had the personality of a dirty dish rag. I cut her some slack when I ordered my meal, but when I came back and ordered my cone, she was just as bad. Cashiers are the front line and first impression of a fast food restaurant, they need to do a better job on who they put on the registers. ( March 5, 1:34 PM on Reg 2)

    those are "grilled onions"

this is literally the worst culvers ive ever been to. burgers are way overcooked. asked for grilled onions and opened my burger up to a sprinkle of burnt onion and half the patty missing.

First time in the Drive through at Culver's

I was in the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon running errands and decided to hit the drive through at Culver's for lunch. The line was long and the parking lot for inside dining was nearly full. I have only been to Culver's a handful of times. The exterior of the building appeared neat and clean and there was signage through the property that told you about their menu. I ordered the Double Butter Cheese Burger meal and a strawberry shake ($15.36). The lady at the window was friendly and provided great service. The line moved quickly and, after paying, I was asked to pull forward. My order came out within a few minutes and I headed to my next errand stop to eat in the parking lot. The crinkle cut fries were HOT and fresh, could've used a tad more salt, but otherwise awesome! I pulled the burger from the box and took my first bite, and instantly realized that was maybe the top 3 best bites from a fast food hamburger ever! The strawberry shake was full of chunks of fresh strawberry and tasted great. I haven't been a huge fan of Culver's in the past, but after today, they may move into a more frequent rotation when I am in the area.

Four Piece Chicken Tenders and Fries

Just went through the drive through and took my stuff home. This is a picture of my Four piece Chicken Tenders and a side order of Fries. I got three Tenders and exactly 13 Fries. C'mon Culver's, Do Better. My 3 year old Grand daughter can count to four. So the tenders cost me $2.00 each and look & taste like they came from Sam's. The Fries were around 15 cents each and also may have come from Sam's. I give honest fair reviews. Mostly good, some bad. There is no excuse for this.

Culver's is pretty alright most days! Every once in a while I'll get a menu item that's not to my liking...or an employee having a bad day, but it can happen everywhere and it doesn't happen often here. The employees always seem so nice and happy to help and service your needs too. This location is pretty alright!

Sometimes you just want a quick hamburger. I use to love coming here for the fried chicken, but they quit offering it, so we don't come here often. The hamburger is always good and I love the crinkle fries. I'm not a fan of custard so I never get it. Service is always fast and friendly. I wish they would bring back the chicken though.

If we want a savory snack, the kiddo loves the crinkle fries, and I love the fried cheese curds.

There is this thing about advertising, and maybe even negative news driving you to check something…read moreout for yourself. That was the case today with our lunch stop. We had come into town to drop off our bicycles for tune-ups. We had no particular plan for lunch, no particular cuisine in mind. We have heard all the chatter regarding the beef tallow switch the company had made in support of HHS Kennedy's MAHA movement. So we saw the sign, decided on a whim to take the plunge. My wife got a Frisco and fries, I got a Butter Garlic with fries. The food was average fast food. Nothing particularly remarkable and nothing bad. The shoestring fries were actually pretty decent. I don't think I would ever make a special trip to eat here. The kitchen needs a good cleaning, from where we were sitting, I could see that while they likely clean the cooking surfaces and other vital areas, they have let things like the area below the grill, and the exhaust vents to go untouched. The last time we had ever been ( years ago in Fairview Heights) to this franchise they had servers come to the table. It was a bit of a unique approach to fast food, sort of the gray line between a true sit down level and McDonald's. Now they have a kiosk that you have to navigate (we are in our early sixties, but tech savvy). Another older couple gave up and walked away while we were there. The weirdest thing about the new approach is the workers don't know what to do or say (so they say nothing). Your name is called out over the intercom and go get it yourself. You can see them working, they work hard to avoid eye contact, and certainly don't say anything to customers. I know that predictions of this chains demise circulate from time to time. I'm not wishing any ill outcome on anyone, but I'm not sure in this tough, wierd economy if what they are now giving is worth the price point.
