First time at city scoops! They have an expansive flavor selection and plenty of indoor seating. They also have to go options in the freezer if you're in a hurry. What I ordered: I got a kids cookie dough cone. The flavor was very rich and the kids size was still rather big. My grandma got lemon ice cream with blueberries mixed in and she enjoyed it! Really great ice cream! Their ice cream cake is unique, has a layer of actual cake at the bottom which is pretty cool! They have a grab and go freezer with slices or you can order an entire cake. We have been coming to City Scoops for many years now and it is consistently yummy. Their ice cream is very rich and creamy and they are always testing out new flavors. They also provide family games like Connect 4, which we really enjoy playing while we eat our ice cream. My son recently got the bananas foster ice cream and oh my was it good! It perfectly captured that flambéed flavor. My other sons prefer the vanilla and Elsa flavors while my fiancé loves their strawberry shakes! After a wonderful dinner in Fairview Heights, we decided to drive a little farther to Troy and try a new Ice Cream shop. All the ice cream is made with absolutely No Preservatives and is made in house. They have around 28 flavors to chose from including some Sorbet!! Quaint little place with a friendly staff. I'm not sure they have just the flavors I love. Or maybe I just saw the same flavors on my two visits and ordered the same each time. Their ice cream seems to be either 14 or 16% butterfat. It is very rich and creamy. The location is convenient and you can even eat on the sidewalk. I will definitely go back and maybe I'll find a flavor that I see as special. Maybe they just need an easier to read menu. read more

Their ice cream is delicious! Made in house and locally owned too! I was an avid custard fan but they have restored my faith in ice cream. I have seen people comment on the price and all I can say is you get what you pay for. I would rather spend my money here on ice cream than go to Dairy Queen and spend the same price on soft serve with hardly any toppings mixed in. Wonderful ice cream! Wonderful selection of flavors! The brownie batter is a must! It is simply decadent. Totally coconut is a close second, and has lots of shredded coconut mixed into the ice cream. The seasonal flavors are fun, too - I like the Bride of Frankenstein flavor. It would be nice if owners would provide descriptions of the flavors, as many of them are not your "traditional" flavors. Sure, you can always ask when you're at the store, but having descriptions on a website would be nice, too. Another downside of City Scoops is the pricing. Unfortunately, they are quite pricey for ice cream. The quality is definitely good, so higher prices are expected - I just know that my family would frequent this establishment much more often if it wasn't so expensive. A great new local business! City Scoops has only been open for a little more than a week. We had our first experience with them today. They have over 15 different ice creams to choose from. They also had a smaller menu board with new flavors. Unfortunately for my wife she wanted 2 of the flavors that were sold out. She ended up getting the Kit Kat which was a cream base with kit Kat bits mixed in. I had the Superman which was 3 different flavors. One was lemon, one was a cherry and the other was a bubble gum or fruity pebbles. I liked the flavor combinations and the ice cream was light and airy unlike other places it had a homemade quality to it. I think my favorite was our daughters she had the birthday cake and it was spot on to what birthday cake ice cream should be. I also really liked they included a pretzel rod with all of the ice creams. I can't wait to see what new flavors they will come up with. read more

Awesome place for top quality ice cream! Every time I have gone, it's been busy! But, even with the high volume of people, service is fast and friendly! There is a variety of flavors to choose from, and there are so many unique choices that other places don't always offer. The owners are super friendly and I love that you can see them make the ice cream! The interior is cute and inviting! The only thing I don't like is that some of the specialty flavors don't give a description of what it tastes like.
